Thank you for entertaining us. Just love love love watching you both share your stories & your talents while I knit.🧶🤗🇦🇺
Always love seeing your sunny hearts a learning from you - you are a very gracious
Love all of your finds! Thank you for all you share! ♥️🐑♥️🐑♥️
Yes, please - show us the old loom and how it works! And BTW, your English is fantastic! Lastly, Arne you amaze me with everything you do! So talented!
That was a fun one; I’m always amazed by what Arne finds in his stash! I hope you can find all the pieces of your looms so we can get some weaving videos.
And let us know how well your mosquito traps work!
I wandered off for a while but it was so nice to come back today and spend some time with my "old friends." I don't care much for the shorts but I love to have you keep me company while I do my knitting work 😊
Thank you for sharing some of your past collections and creations. I hope you continue to share these treasures. Please do spend some episodes on the old family looms and Arne’s weaving. Over 50 years ago my husband’s grandmother covered clothes hangers with crochet by the dozens! We still have them and use them!
Thank you for sharing. I love the way you cover many different topics. Look forward to seeing the old looms.
I just love the loomed sweater. I think pink an orange looks so good together. An Arne you are so very creative love the hanger . I dont know what i would do without your reruns i watch them all the time. When i have my breakfast thats the first thing i do turn you all on . Take Care
I commend you on protecting the insects! Every fall I cover my garden with all of the falling leaves….my neighbor “strongly suggested“ I not do so and rake them all up so they didn’t fly all over …. I responded that I didn’t want to …she asked why and I told her they protected the plants and bugs and worms and bees during the winter…she looked at me like I had four heads and walked away 😂😂😂😂
Looking forward to your episodes on weaving and old looms! (I am a weaver.)
Perfect fit then
"...computer says no." Love the reference to Little Britain. The amount of fun and interesting content you both provide so consistently is greatly appreciated and loved by so many. Hope you were of great "help" to your neighbours. LOL...
The insect hotels are a terrific help to the environment. Bless you and everyone who makes the effort to support the bees ❤
You two are so talented, Enjoyed seeing the treasures from your past collections.
“It’s HIDEOUS… the UGLIEST thing…”. 😂😂Ilove the way you two insist that EVERYTHING in your surroundings be beautiful. I get it now. I really do.
😍😍
Thank you for sharing. I enjoy the variety of what happens in your video and one never knows what to expect. ❤
The tool for carving wood that turns is a lathe. They are great for hand made rolling pins!
Lathe is one syllable, and pronounced like "Lay" with a th sound at end. The e is silent. Rhymes with Bathe.
When one uses a lathe, one "turns" or carves one's projects. Arne, you could use your lathe to turn custom stands for all your fancy lamps!
Talking about bees, English lavender attracts so many. I the evening it's so nice to sit out and watch them. We get 3 or 4 different species. They are so interesting to watch ❤
I would love to see Arne checking the looms and using them. Super exciting!
Yes please, to episodes with the looms and weaving. So interesting I am sure, and you guys make things so much fun to watch.
I loved seeing what you have excavated! How fun to go back in history and showcase what was popular and trending from years in the past. Thank you
Thank you for watching
It's always a treat to sit and listen to your life in Norway! Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to the new stocking!
I laughed just as hard at the Dolly Parton cake re-run as I did the first time. I will probably laugh just as hard next time! :D
I love, love seeing the archeological items. That crochet flower jacket reminds me if a granny square jacket I had as a child and want to replicate in my adult size. Btw, the shorts are fantastic!! ❤❤❤ I have a rigid heddle loom. Bring on the weaving!! You could sell those bobbins! ❤
Yes, would love to see the old looms and how they work!!♥️
Stay tuned 😊
Yes, please! (to the loom idea), and thank you for standing up on behalf of pollinators. Your insect hotels are perfect for solitary bees and other helpful garden insects, and are garden statuary in their own right. 🐝🐞🦋
Looms and weaving would be so interesting. Would definitely watch the episodes. Sounds fascinating
Mosquitoes are at the bottom of the food chain. I think that citronella candles or torches are great for a small area to be mosquito free. Also I have used essential oils of lavender, lemon etc. .to help me personally not be bothered by them as well. I enjoy watching and listening to your adventures, advice, and your shorts are brilliant so glad you have added them into your routine of videos. I will be sure to watch the edited reruns.
Hi. I love to listen to you both talking about your home projects. The garden looks lovely in the summer rain. Jana
If your not going to have a kitchen for a while. Make your meals ahead of time, put them in microwave safe food keepers, and freeze them. Then when you want a meal just use a microwave and reheat and eat. Not as good as fresh food, but better than not so good Chinese. Also with weather being nice you can cook outside. Love the Cardigan. Those are one of my favorite things to knit. There are some wonderful plants you can put in your garden that actually repell mosquitoes. Lavender, Rosemary, Marigolds, Basil, Lemongrass, Catnip just to name a few. I am in Missouri and these plants are life savers. As always wonderful video and I love your peacock scarf pattern, I bought it last week. Wonderful video. Thanks for the time you take to share with us.
The tool to make the wood spindles is a lathe.
A lathe is the English word for the wood turning tool. You two are the best ♥️♥️
Anti-mosquito perfume. I love it! Sounds much more marketable than insect repellent
Very impressive, what can't you do? you are very talented Arne!
Angle grinder, the tool with the round disc that can cut through iron Arne..... have only recently started to watch you two and I don't even knit! Just sewing here. But I love everything you do. Still catching up with old episodes and loving it. The spindles with embroidery thread are amazing, I would love a display of those. I was without a proper kitchen for a year! And a Christmas without running water and guests. We managed. Although the flooring still needs doing when we have saved up again. Keep up the good work 😊
I feel right at home watching you two. Thank you for coming by!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Weaving looms sound wonderful! I'm always interested in anything you put out for content!👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Actually all kinds of insects are important, not only bees. Buggs pollinate too. Even mosquitos have a purpose. Birds eat them for example and bats and birds are important for carying seeds to all kinds of destinations through their droppings, therefore contributing to the spreading of plants. So keep on building those insect hotels folks 🙂
Especially loved seeing items "unearthed" from Arne's workshop! With regard to mosquitos, I read an article recently and it indicated that having a fan going is enough to keep the mosquitos away because their delicate wings cannot compete with the fan's air flow.
Morning Arne and Carlos from Oz. A bit late but sending Birthday wishes to Arne. 60 years young. I love your young spirit , your love of paper dolls, doll’s houses and thrift shopping and beautiful things. Also your giggles. Makes me laugh. The red crocheted jacked is amazing. So much talent. Carlos I hate mozzies too. They love me.Citronella coils work really well. Looking forward to your next videos. Take care. Marilyn
Thank you so much for your videos. I love you guys.
Those items are beautiful! They need to be placed on display with other FOUND items in a space in a gallery or art museum for textiles.
I'm a weaver. I'm looking forward to seeing your loom and weaving episodes!!
I think the word you're looking for is 'lathe'. I would love to watch Arne weaving. Thank you so much - you guys are priceless. ❤👍from Somerset, UK
I've been a bit busy, so I started watching this as it came live last Wednesday and now on Monday I've just finished it. Thank you so much for all your entertaining vlogs. I am really looking forward to episodes on weaving and also the wood-turning lathe. Much love xx
Thank you for this episode♥️! I'm really struggling right now with my mental health and your podcast gives me a sense of security and contentment. I've been watching since i discovered you in 2020 and that's when i also found my love for knitting and crocheting. Thanks so much again, it means a lot to me☺️
❤️
They are great, hope you're doing well!
Dear Christine, sorry you're struggling with mental health. You're not alone, truly. I lost my husband after 47 years of being married, and you know I found my consolation in knitting. Knitting saved my mind, honestly. While I'm planning, choosing colors and patterns, making switches, Knitting and all that entails, I don't have to think on anything else. I'm sending you a friendly hug, may you get well and remember the Knitting community is wonderful. Greetings from Vancouver, Canada 🇨🇦. Lupita
Dear Christine, you are not alone in your struggle. Many of us have been struggling with all the cares of the world lately. Keep stitching and know you are loved.
We've had extra rain here in Colorado, too. I didn't have time to watch this until Sunday morning, but enjoyed it. My husband likes to play with his wood turning lathe, but mostly makes candle holders. We have a couple of really big ones sitting on the hearth by the fireplace.
Seeing an episode on weaving would be great. Thank you.
Episodes with Arne weaving would be lots of fun to watch!
For sure!
Yes weaving episodes
I agree, a weaving episode would be fantastic.
Arne, I love how you think of the birds. I'm still mourning the poor bird who hit your window. They need all the help they can get!
I love your pyjama gardeners!!! Your shorts are wonderful!!!
My Aunt used to crochet hanger covers. They are the best. Love the rain. Be well.
I just got home from Norway. What a fabulous trip.
The flower sweater is gorgeous! Love it! So excited for your upcoming loom/weaving episodes! I am a new weaver and always up for learning more! 💕
It was a lovely idea to show some of the clothes from the archives. It is always a fun time with you two!
Thank you for putting up a bee house!
Another thing to do for them is plant flowering plants that are native to where you live.
It's so exciting when you see them moving in!
Yes show the looms! I used to have a Swedish floor loom, counterbalanced. Loved it.
I have just inherited my Dad’s inkle loom that I am restoring and then going to relearn how to use. Weaving is such a fascinating craft.
I'd love to seen the looms & weaving - that is sooo interesting to me... so my vote is yes!
Great, thank you Laurie!
Can't wait for weaving shorts or videos on anything yarn for wefwast and warp, looms and tools, patterns, etc.
Watched this episode and enjoyed it so much. Just got home from a mini vacation at a Montana mountain cabin 10 minutes from where I live here. The mosquitoes ate me alive! I share your hatred of them, Carlos. They've been horrible this year. I am glad that you mentioned Carson Delete' book. I had also purchased a copy. April 30 I tripped over my open dishwasher door and face planted; the fall broke several teeth and fractured my right shoulder quite badly. The pain was excruciating and remained very painful until the bones began to knit back together. I thought I might never be able to knit again. I am happy to report that I am knitting again and, once I fully recover I anticipate being back where I was in terms of proficiency. I showed the book to the occupational therapist helping me to recover and she was really impressed. Arne, your command of the English language is quite impressive too. I understand how it would be confusing how the same word (& spelling) can have multiple meanings...i.e., knitting bones, and knitting yarn. Fun to make puns.
Barbecue and outdoor cooking like camping. Cook in the greenhouse 😉 Computer says NO! 🤣🤣 Little Britain in Norway 🤭
Definitely Yes on the loom video!
Those trousers are just beautiful ❤❤
Love to watch you make a spool, Arne!!
I toted my copy of John Muir's "Compleat Idiot" book of VW repair for years when I had a 1963 Beetle, along with a tool box filled with metric wrenches, which were hard to come by in the US back then, the mid-70s. By the time I finally graduated from that car, the book was black with oily grime and I was an expert on roadside repairs of a very old and cranky Beetle. Good times!
So nice to catch up! The archives are amazing!! ❤
Love seeing the clothing you designed! Looking forward to seeing some weaving videos from you.
😊😊
Waited to sit with my friends at sunrise here in New York thank you so much for sharing you guys are inspirational
Carlos, I like your haircut and new glasses! Styling!,😊
Wow! Those bobbins are gorgeous 😍😍
Years ago, when I was taking a University of California Master Gardener's course, I learned that bacillus thurengensis is something to spread on bodies of water to prevent mosquitos. I also tried Vitamin B1 to prevent them from biting me and it worked well. Good luck, fellas!
Thanks for the tips. Will look into it.
Spindles made on a lathe? Very nice!!! I would buy those for my embroidery thread!!
I would enjoy watching you put the loam together and using it
I look forward watching your programs.
Wonderful episode, extremely interesting love love love watching and listening to you both.
I would really like to see the weaving… no pressure as whatever you both do is always great xx
Carlos, I loathe & despise mosquitoes also. Hope your VW is repaired soon. I had a green 1967 VW Beetle in college. 💚 that car !
Yes, I would love to see some episodes on weaving!!!
My ears went up when you mentioned Karl Johans Gt, I remember it from visiting Oslo in February, near The Hub! Good times!
Enjoy spending my knitting time with you both. Working on the Peacock Scarf!
Episodes with weaving would be fantastic. I have started learning how to spin and of course it is leading to weaving.
You are so very right about the ergonomic knitting. I had to change my knitting style in more recent years due to pain. I tried so many continental purl styles and until you all taught me to "dance" I thought my knitting was doomed. Thank you for the Norwegian 15 minute video. Always entertaining.
Love the idea of the weaving episodes 😍
Ah, kitchen renovations/new kitchen. I'm just wrapping up a two year (!) project. Get a double burner hot plate or two digital hot plates AND a toaster oven that is 12" wide. You can set up a cooking area just about anywhere with these. It saved our lives.
Hi Arne & Carlos I'm sitting watching your show here in Australia. Always have a good giggle . You asked if anyone is interested in you showing some weaving I would love to see you do a segment on weaving . But always love, what ever you mention particularly history of clothing buildings etc in Norway. A country I have always wanted to travel to. On the mosie front I have always used a oil burner with citronella oil in it keeps the mosies at bay. Cheers from Prue in Australia ❤
some weaving
You two crack me up. I am also a mosquito magnet. They love me and I hate them. One suggestion for when you sit outside is to put a dryer sheet in your shirt or pants pocket to repel the mosquitos. It works.
I love the artifacts from the "archeological" dig. 😊
Hi, I've watched you both for years. Arne, your English is now excellent!
Thank you!
Excited to see future videos on your looms and weaving. The bobbins you made Arne are beautiful. Keep them out on display.
That would be awesome....I love weaving....never done it , but love the projects and the mechanics of it
Yes I would enjoy an episode on weaving.🇨🇦
Thank you for doing a little Christmas in July for us. It will be FUN x x x Anne 🦘
Oh my goodness! Is there anything you can't do Arne? I love the lathed spools for the embroidery threads and all the clothing. Yes, please do some weaving episodes!
I'm excited to hear that you are doing a live stream at a time that I can attend. Yay! Thank you for thinking of us in Australia . Arne you are so creative and your hands can weave, turn wood, create clothes, knit, Crochet and build things. I love those thread spool holders. They would sell like hotcakes if you made more!!
I’m in Melbourne and excited for the next zoom too.
I would enjoy seeing the looms and discussion about them.
I would love to see a weaving video. Especially using the old loom. I love the videos about baking and gardening and travel adventures. I hope you have more of those soon. I need to sign up to be on the paid side. That’s coming soon
I LOVE the emojis. Yes, please keep them coming!! "I'm sooo good" LOL And the beautiful orange, pink and red crochet sweater...so gorgeous!
We will
This was very enjoyable! I'd love to see how you work on the loom. Arne's wooden thread holders were wonderful. If I hadn't seen the thread I'd have thought they were a kind of chess set with minarets as a motif.
Looking forward to seeing Arne weaving as well as turning wood on a lathe.
Hope your birthday weekend went well, your haircut looks nice Carlos. All,costly jobs you mean I think , house repairs are so,costly, then like you say , one thing leads to another, all costing. One day it will all be finished. As my hubby says just when your finished you think it’s time to start again hehe. Like with everything people only see the end product. Not all the hard work that goes into making them, or time involved . Lovely cardigan Arne, your a really great knitter.
This is when good neighbors really matter.
🎉
Yes would love to see the Looms!
Love hearing about your life. Very interesting and inspiring for my projects.
Get started and mist importantly get them completed. 🌞
Yes
