Another wonderful episode Arne and Carlos! Thank you for sharing your week and discoveries! Absolutely adore the floral cardigan and very excited to see your woolly version come to life! Love that pop of the warm vanilla against the cool blues and grey! Absolutely agree when it comes to color choices, there are no rules. Have a great week!

❤So many gems in this episode! The sewing is perfection. I love my sewing machine, but often finish things by hand. Agree, Arne, a maker will work in many forms. Carlos!😮 that sweater is GORGEOUS! It’s like a fine piece of

It's a Lutterloh sewing system (Lutterloh Golden Rule), still available today in modern styles. The enclosed "tape measure" allows you to plot out a pattern in your size. No instructions on sewing however. I use them and love it!

I found myself thinking of how WONDERFUL it would be to have Arne and Carlos as uncles….who made a trousseau for my Barbies. Oh my goodness!
When I was little, my mother and grandmother (who were incredible artists) made clothes for my Barbie. The best thing I can remember was a pink flannel bathrobe that matched the one they made for me. A dear family friend crocheted doll clothes for Barbie. My Barbies traveled - they had very small PanAm bags that were rounded at the bottom.
I kept that incredible collection of Barbies and their clothes in their “dream houses” (these were boxes, nothing fancy, with Barbie’s face on the outside and tiny hangers in “closets” when you opened them up) for many decades until they were lost in a terrible divorce. I bet that guy still has my Barbie dream house (and a beautiful convertible fro the 1950s!) and takes pleasure in the realization that I do NOT have it, or my mother’s homemade doll clothes or the PanAm bags.
But! Time to make new memories. Onward! Thanks, guys.

Vintage VWs are the most fun cars to own! It’s a shame we don’t live in Norway, my husband is a master tech and has nursed along many vintage VWs well into their golden years. We have owned a ‘68 and a ‘74 super beetle and one of the new beetles ourselves. The vintage beetles are a mechanic’s dream because they are so simple to diagnose and fix (if you’re a mechanic, of course!)

About 20 years or so ago, online blogs were in their infancy. My friends and I, on-the-other-hand, thought these were the perfect place to pour out our teenage-angst laden hearts. At some point I had written something along the lines of 'life is better in orange and purple' and eventually changed the look of the blog to reflect that - having forgotten that I had written that months beforehand.
I'm not kidding you when I say that that colour combination has followed me around ever since. There's purple and orange clothes, accessories... My bedroom has purple walls and there was an orange bedset. Last year I went to my first ever local creative market and what do I find? Arne and Carlos Regia Pairfect 9093 - predominantly orange and purple. I had to get it.

Happy Birthday Arne. Maybe if you use pinking shears to cut out the doll dress it would stop the material from shedding. Loved your mothers sewing book. It is amazing how many different things people were able to do back in the day. I have to look through my sewing books but I have one from the late 1800's to early 1900 and it also gives instruction on how to sew underclothing and dresses etc.. Love your video and shorts.

On very delicate garments/fabrics and corners when I start sewing, I found a trick (don't remember by who) to use wrapping paper tissue under the stitch line and it helps to allow the material to run under the feet and not get pulled down into the machine. It is so lightweight paper it tears away without pulling on the stitches or the fabric. place the paper about an inch out from the raw edge to start sewing on the paper, just sew slowly for the first three stitches or so, then sew as normal.

So relatable what you say about the (sales)people you buy from are pleased with your colorful choice. We have green tiles for our kitchen floor, the sales person said that in all his years working (which was like 20 years) he had only sold the green tiles once or twice. Same for the man who installed the tiles he had only installed them once before. I love them and often when people visit our home they tells us they really like them 😅

I think it's a good thing you bought a freezer. It's very useful. For example: the organic whole wheat flour, rye flour, oat bran, almond flour, whole grains breads have to be frozen, otherwise they would become rotten quite fast (I don't buy it 1 cup, 1/3, 1/4 cup at a time or have to go to the grocery for small portion). The same for all nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans), meats, fish, vegetables, spaghetti sauce, pastry dough, fruits and all my jams (have to freeze them because I don't put a ton of sugar in it). I have all I need to cook and bake. Always ready.

You have made me so happy! I want to make clothes by hand for my little bisque dolls's house dolls (I have more than a dozen) but I am a beginner in my old age. I also have a Sasha girl and a foot high wood antique doll. No doll has any clothing, poor things. I always watch you although I don't knit, but I can crochet and embroider. Your videos are enjoyed by me and my husband- the food stories sound like us- huge fridge/freezer & 100 yr. old house.
Writing white watching- the creamy yellow and the light blue work so well together- don't use the white yarn.

The book is from Lutterloh System also know as Lutterloh Golden Rule. You need the "tape measure" from the system to plot out your pattern. No instructions on sewing. Menswear, women petite to plus, and children are available in modern sizing. Older books like your mothers are fun to hunt down, but body types and plotting have changed, however Lutterloh now has revised sizing on many vintage styles. I love to sew from it!

Enjoyed the episode as always. A special thank you for the color pep talk. I’m a quilter and always working to push myself out of my comfort zone with color. I have learned a lot from designers like you who are intuitive with color and don’t follow preconceived rules. And Arne, I was also told that red and pink don’t go together when I was younger. I often think back to that and wonder why I believed it for so long when it was really just someone’s opinion. I also love what you said Carlos, about your appreciation for fine quality workmanship. I share that with you and hold it as a standard for what I surround myself with in my life.

Love your cardigan Carlos like your wall colour as well, very nice both of you, is that the ticket office window behind you. Just trying to place the room. We have had so much rain here in the Uk as well. Need to send it abroad to help them out I think. Yes our main holiday month as well. I think the rain makes you feel cold. Arne we do not believe you, we know you better, all the excuses , dear me, then I guess you got a few slices. Wow 13 a lot of cake left over. Well not with Arne about. Haha oh no do not let Arne near that fish cart again Carlos. People years ago used to make their clothes as couldn’t afford to buy them in the shop, I am talking just after the wartime. Could you put interfacing around the edges to firm it a little more. I like your hexagon items Arne very pretty.sadly older vehicles get to a stage where they become costly, then the parts get harder to be able to get hold off. Lovely to have all the same. Yes your colour choice is really nice, with the warm colour just lifts it.
Yes for sure your very interesting to sit and listen to, you always have good ideas with things and ideas that’s always worth a try, ah you answered my question about the ticket office haha.

Hand sewing is a fabulous skill. There are so many beautiful stitches one can create by hand.

My mum was a very good seamstress and would measure anyone and use newspaper or paper bags and design pieces then cut the materials. Later she used ready made patterns and I would select patterns for her to sew. I can’t sew, but crochet, embroider, knit.
