Well congratulations to the new married couple of 1990. It's too bad they don't theme the hotels the way they did during the '90s and early 2000s. The glass and steel look of the most recent properties may as well be bank buildings. They just don't compare to a castle, New York, Venice, or a circus.
Right??? Cosmopolitan and city center looks like any other bank building. Nothing beats the themes of Aladdin, Excalibur, Caesar’s, Luxor, stardust, flamingo, imperial palace, dunes etc
I love the Excalibur! It's not as uppity or snobby as some of the other resorts in the strip, the people are down to earth and make you feel at home, like what Vegas used to be like, now everything in Vegas is fake and arrogant
I remember, and it was at this time in your video, when Vegas didn't even have freeways, the highway from Los Angeles was the actual strip and you drove right through Vegas! Back then (which was not too long ago) it was in reality just a town, the desert bordered Excalibur's parking lot and the cars would end up with so much sand and dust! Then they started expanding the southern strip with Luxor, Mandalay Bay, etc.
I remember that. I went to Excalibur on Christmas 1990. It was actually the first property to greet you coming into town. Desert did meet the parking lot!
Fantasy-epic series like Game of Thrones and Harry Potter are now popular with millions of grown-up Americans. Why don't the owners of this place bring back, update, and go all-out with the castle/fantasy theme?
I was there that day. 8 years old, doing a wee in a bottle in the car park. Could not find a toilet! I remember when this was the largest hotel in the world. Awesome memory..
I was staying at circus circus hotel when this was about half complete It already looked awesome Our cab driver said circus circus enterprises was building out of daily cash from the circus circus hotel The following year we stayed there and loved it
Ah I remember the good old days at excalibur.. I worked there 10 years ago and just recently went back and it just wasn't the same! The buffet sucked and was overpriced, they took out all the murals and good food..
It may be a considered a dump but honestly for the prices other resorts have reached now Excalibur turns out to be a good deal. MGM has recently revamped the property a bit and it looks better.
I stayed at Excalibur two years ago... it's definitely dated and in need of renovation, but it's one of the cheaper hotels on the strip. they had $5 tables pre-covid

I like the Excalibur and stayed there every time I visit Las Vegas. Great deal on rooms and location. sure there are fancier hotels and casinos but why pay more for a room when you are going to be out all day and night having a great time in Vegas?

My first time staying @ this place was Feb/2000 and it was already pretty dumpy..,,, Just stayed again last month & yikes!!!! Rooms are in bad shape!!! I like the Excalibur and stayed there every time I visit Las Vegas. Great deal on rooms and location. sure there are fancier hotels and casinos but why pay more for a room when you are going to be out all day and night having a great time in Vegas?
why pay more? because we dont want bed bugs, lice, or mold exposure.
I know when I go on vacation I want to be in a nice hotel.

I hate the Excaibur.. If I had 4 billion dollars I would buy it from MGM, implode the ugly building, and rebuild the Stardust to its old glory.
this theme was trash 25 years ago. Just look at the people excited for the opening. Of course was owned by Circus circus.
