Thank God I found you. I just set this pool up and I'm already freaking out about how to clean it. I've never had a pool before
Very helpful video and very detailed. Thanks for putting the video together!
Before I had a sand pump, and using the cartridge filters like that, I'd wrap a knee high panty hose over the cartridge, twist it, and wrap it back over again. Really saved the filters. But I love my sand pump because of the 6 way valve that allows you to vacuum to waste, recirculate, backwash, never have to buy cartridges no more! Love the little deck!
Love it and Thanks for saving peoples time doing other things. You have a knack at making great tips videos and you have awesome tips on pool care.
Thank you!!! I really appreciate your feedback!
@@meligcountrylivin I can’t get my pump to suck anything up. I have everything you have and it’s not working.
Is it suctioning before you hook the hose to the vacuum attachment?
@@meligcountrylivin same problem, but my vacuum is set up exactly as you did yours but it is pushing the dirty vacuumed water back into the pool
WOW, U DID EVERYTHING WITH ONE HAND 👏👏👏👏
Your cadence is very similar to Bob Ross ... you have a very relaxing way of explaining this process. Cheers !!
Thank you!
Very helpful video and very detailed Thanks for putting this video i was thinking about buy a another pump for clean the bottom of me pool that have a lot of sand and ground

This is the best video! Thank you so much!!
Thanks so much, this video was so helpful!!!!😎
Thank god got your video because I was going crazy trying to figure out how to use that thing from Walmart lol
Thank you for all your info. But can you tell me where you bought the filter hose connector to attach the hose that would helpful for me 😊
Thanks for your very well done explanation!!! Where can I get that brush or vacuum with all those attachments? Please
By the way thank you so much for this video, it has shown me how to vacuum my pool. I have had different summer waves pool from 15 ft, 12 ft, 10 ft, and 8 ft. I had a 15 ft, 10, ft, and 8 ft, inflatable pools. I have had a 15 ft, 12, ft, and 10 ft. frame pool. This year I got a 10 ft. metal pool andI have all of the chemicals and accessories, so have the same square vacuum attachment for my pool. Can you please tell me what size hole I need to connect to the square adapter and the vacuum hose and vacuum head that will go to my pool and where to buy it please????
The best cleaning video, thank you so much! Will try to water hose method today. 😃👌🏼
Let me know how it works for you. It can take a while, but it works the best to get rid of all the dirt.
Look at getting a solar cover. I have one for mine and with 80mph winds it stayed put. Just floats on the water.
I have the same square vacuum attachment for my pool. Can you please tell me what size hole I need to connect to the square adapter and the vacuum hose and vacuum head that will go to my pool and where to buy it please????
Great instructions! Can you Please send me the link to where I can buy the black plug thingys. Thank you! 😁
Where can I get the attachment for the hose to connect to the filter like you have?
I have problems with my pump leaking from the bottom. I've taken it apart and put it back together but water always leaks from around the seal and eventually I'll have to add more water to the pool
What did you put under your ladder on the inside of the pool? And what does it do?
How do I find the attachment
Can you do this of where you got the attachment and names
Wow great video. I need that cover piece over the skimmer. An hour trying to vacuum almost blew my head off lol. Thank you. Great video
I have been there myself! Thank you!
Where did you buy that cover or what is it called?
@@houstonseven1373 bought mine on Amazon. Works miracles but too frekn bad my filter doesn't catch the algae. Really sucks
@@TzUuup does it catch up the dirt/debris though. I get a lot of “dirt” build up at the bottom I’m assuming the chemicals and that’s what I want to vacuum up mostly to make the water clear looking again not all hazy
@@houstonseven1373 it does pick it up. Idk about the haze though. I'm still fighting the algae
Hey there I would like to know where did you find the black plug for the skimmer intake opening?
I seen one on amazon the other day
It came with the pool but you can order them on amazon and even ebay.
Ty for the video. I was stumped at how to clean it, I assumed they om would have included that piece with it. Mine however did not come with the plugs, so I will be improvising those.
What is the piece you have in the vacuum...
What is the thing you used inside the skimmer to cover and connect the hose to my pool did not come with w.e it is... nor did my vacuum
Vacumn suction plate adapter maybe
Where can I find the filter attachment that connects to the filter? I would appreciate the help. Thank you
I know right i need it too
help! I cleaned out my pump for the second time in a week because the filters were filthy. but this time i cant stop a leak, i've done it over and over again and still a small leak. I'm thinking it has something to do with that black gasket. I've tucked in on the bottom or put it over the tip of the motor before tightening and nothing stops it. Can you tell me how exactly the gasket goes? Please.
What black gasket? Is the black that goes around the intake?
This is happening to me right now what do I do
I had this issue and it was just a matter of twisting/rotating the whole apparatus just a bit, to change how it sits against the liner. A bit precarious and worrisome, but our leak stopped. Must be about the way it lines up with the liner.
Omg, you did an amazing job. Explained in detail. So what's the name of the piece you put in the pump to connect to the hose? It fit perfectly inside to get the suction. This is my first time as well. It's amazing but a lot to learn. Thank you for helping all of us.
I was wondering the same thing…
I just bought this and I'm struggling so hard I googled how to vacuum summer waves pool and found this there's one step I didn't do with output I hope that fixes my issue . I bought one that is automatic one it says the pump can handle it but maybe not . I may need to get this one I'm stressed lol ruined the 4th of July kids can't swim yet I'm in need 😂😂
It fits perfect I have a summer waves 18x46
@@Firewalkwithme84 I posted where I bought my piece :)
@@itscuccos8917 I went and got mine at Amazon, I didn’t know where she had got it at? So I took matters into my own hands and ordered the part just waiting for it to come.
Mine is a 14x48 I hope this piece fits.
So the black pieces that come with the pool are not needed to vacuum?
Hi...No, the plugs will not allow the water to flow and burn up your motor. The plugs are to seal the block the water from flowing.
Question: when I do this all for vacuuming I always see dirty water coming out of return hole coming back into the pool while vacuuming. What do I do about it??
same ! i’m guessing we put the black piece into it while vacuuming? i’m not sure
The filter is supposed to filter the dirty water before coming back out of the out take. Leave it unplugged or it will not work properly. A tip: I sometimes put a sock on the out take securing it with a rubber band or zip tie. That will add an additional filter.
@@meligcountrylivin leave what unplugged?
@@jackiesoto83 I was referring to the the comment of the “black piece” which is the plug to the outtake. If you plug the outtake, it will not allow the pump and vacuum to work correctly. You leave the plugs/stoppers to both intake and outtake off to allow the pump to work as normal for vacuuming.
@@jackiesoto83 you might have to replace your filter or clean it.
Where did you get the right vacuum/vacuum hoses?
Why my hose doesn’t pit the attachement have to rig it
how is it called the thing that goes in the skimmer to connect the vacuum or where can i buy it?
Summerwaves skimmer vacuum plate
Amazon
I just uploaded a new video about the pump issue regarding the ceramic rod breaking. I have a really cheap and easy fix!
Question- my pool pump has started a leaking a bit after I set up this summer. Also feels like the return water (in the pool) is weak or not existent. Ideas how to fix?
@@Tara-po9rt I have only had it leak a few times and it was because it was not twisted on good enough. I thought it was, but after I checked it again, it was not. The bottom of the pump will leak if it is slightly off the grooves and I have had to take it off and re-twist it back on and very tightly.
@@meligcountrylivin ok thanks. Right now I am awaiting a stopper to plug the filter so I can try again without draining lots of pool water
@@meligcountrylivin did the o ring fit snug on the pump? Our didn’t
@@Tara-po9rt yes..I haven’t had any problems..yet.
Can you put a link for vacuum head and hose and lid you put in pump
Yes. I just finished a video answering questions and will put all the links in the description. It takes a little bit to upload and process in UA-cam. It should be up in the next couple of hours.
I had a lot of internet issues yesterday and the video did not upload. I just uploaded it and all the links are in the description of the video. If you have any problems, let me know.
Amazing I knew there had to be a missing attachment 😊
Your set up is exactly like mine, down to the vacuum head. I've followed your steps, but we only get debris coming out of the outflow and nothing else
Having the same problem
@@boogerbear090 so we sort of improvised. We put a hose coming from the output out to the yard, while connected to the pump. So it's vacuuming out. We also have a garden hose supplying new clean water
@@drewstephens2642 I have thought about this. Wasn't sure how well it would work. Thank you for letting me know
@@boogerbear090 it's a little bit more of a pain, but the plus side our grass gets watered 😂
Same my debris goes right back in the pool as I vaccuum
I have a question how much chlorinating liquid would you use for this pool?
I have not used the liquid yet. I would have to see the instructions.
We have an inground pool store near us that has a water testing desk where they give you a printout of your water assessment and amount of chemicals to rectify plus steps to take, how much time to wait between chemicals etc. Not sure where you live but that store has simplified things immensely! They also have a pool school once per week for new pool owners (,in- and above-ground)
I’m having a problem with the dirt coming back out into the pool thru the output. Any help?
Same here!
I can only assume the filter isn't good enough to catch it. I really done know what you can do about it though other than upgrading your pump and filter.
Is that why people upgrade to sand filters? Wish I had known that before purchasing the pool. Next year will upgrade the pump
My vacuum has three holes what’s the third one for?
I have not seen one with 3…what kind is it?
Cant u secure stopper without holding it
It will fall off unless you drain some of the water out of the pump. It’s not made very well and falls off because it doesn’t suction with water on both sides. I have actually had a huge mess before when I did not hold it until the water was below the intake hole on the outside. This technique has worked for me that is why I continue to do it.
Where did you get the part you put in your filter
Did u find it cause I need one to??
I bought it on Amazon but Walmart online has them too. Also Summerbackyard.com.

@@meligcountrylivin can you do this without that little vacuum thing in the filter?
@@nicoleberglund8715 you have to have the vacuum attachment in order to vacuum this way, but you can youse your water-hose as a vacuum if you are unable to purchase the attachment.
I had a lot of internet issues yesterday and the video did not upload. I just uploaded it and all the links are in the description of the video. If you have any problems, let me know.
Can u explain how the pump assembly is put together after cleaning?
I have to hold the motor in place and start twisting the bottom plate back on. Once it is turned a couple of times and can let go of the motor from the top. After a few times, it becomes really easy.
I can't get the bottom of the pump on to save my life it won't stop leaking as I try to get ot back on there. It's laching good on one side and the other isn't going into the grooves I been trying for 30 mins now . I should have just left it alone 😔
Boy wiuld it help if we could actually hear you. 👽🤔👍💖
There should be a cover
Where can i find that adapter?

You work to hard..I use my riptide cleaner..clean it in 5 to 10 min or less
