Congratulations on the new addition to your family. I got the 2025 Tacoma SR, yesterday. I was able to get 5% off on the price. Just wanted something plain & simple. Great videos, just subscribed.
Your clip with the ceramic coat kit made me think; You or anyone on this channel should checkout the channel Project Farm. He compares a lot of cerakote products and shows you how they all compare. You'd be suprised to find out you really dont need to spend much for a well perfoming coating. He compares many other detailing products as well in a very concise and scientific manner. Congratulations on the new baby!
Just to let all those Chiefs fans know that the Packers have done a 3peat already...twice I might add. But that being said, congrats again on the new kiddo and the very happy wife. That's gold all by itself 😅

@@saithakore5540 thank you! And man that’s tough. I’ve bought plenty of vehicles even without a warranty. I do trust this engine but the electrical system continues to advance so I liked the peace of mind. If you can get 125k 10 year platinum with no deductible for 2k USD or less that’s a win
One thing that is worth mentioning is that you can’t actually order anything. The build page is for information only and allowing Toyota sales to find something close to what you want. You get to pick what the dealer’s allocations have to offer. In my case, it was a big goose egg. Zero Xtracabs in 2024, and zero on the radar in 2025. They are chasing me over to Nissan (after 40 years of Toyota) because they can get me a King Cab. (I’m in Alaska which makes shipping one pretty darn steep)
Fortunately this isn’t true. You just have to find a dealership that will work with you. In my case that was both I called. On the allocation I found I was able to change my screen size to the larger option and get rid of the lighted grill emblem. There were two other little things I also switched. Worth it!
I'm trying to find the video that had the exhaust modifications where you took out the resonator. I can't remember the title of the video but I think it was uploaded about a month ago. There was something else in that video that caught my attention.. I think it was bezel protector.
wish we had the same options available up here in Canada,. Only 4 colour options, no six foot bed, no power tailgate, and no front stabilizer bar disconnect for our off road premiums.
Negotiate at least 10% off MSRP. Do not pay dealer add ons and negotiate down high Doc fees. If they insist you pay doc fees, have them deduct those doc fees from the out-the-door price on the vehicle. Remember, they need to sell the truck more than you need to buy it. Lot rot is real and they have to pay interest monthly on their flooring plan. Shop the truck too on the phone.
Off-topic, but curious of what you've heard about the 3rd gen. timing cover oil leaks. It was apparently a BIG issue with years 2016-perhaps even 2019! Have you heard of any corrections Toyota made about this issue? The repair could be over '5' grand!
It does happen on the first years of the 3rd gen and Toyota will correct it if you're still in the warranty period. The issue is a lot of those truck are now out of warranty. It's actually how the sealer is applied at the factory and they supposedly nailed down the process better for the later years of the 2GR-FKS per sources. They will repair it if it's still under powertrain warranty, but we recommend a trusted independent shop versus the dealer if you need to pay for it out of your own pocket. -Austin
Does the trd off road premium come with a rear sway bar disconnect, Or do I have to add that? For tires and suspension lift kit what do you recommend that won’t throw off the gas mileage or other things. I do want to go off-roading but nothing crazy and camp deep into the woods.
Disconnects can come in a package… maybe standalone as well… I didn’t get them personally. I have a 1” lift on the front of mine from peak suspension and I’m running Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires in 285/70R17. I’d do this combo again a thousand times 😎
Which of the Toyota trims have a high ceiling for tall people? I had the 2019 TRD with a 6 foot bed ,double cab and it had a very high ceiling. Some of the other versions I’ve sat in, my head is almost touching the roof of the truck. I’m 6’2.
They have always sold a “lower output” engine, it just used to be the 2TR I4 engine, and it was severely less power than the SR of the 4th gen. A whopping 159hp in the 3rd gen. You can get the full power in the SR with the 6 speed manual! -Austin
Hi all, I just bought a 23 3rd gen tacoma with 18k it has gold certificated. My buddy told me to upgrade and get the wrap warranty. Toyota wants another 2k for that coverage 6 years ..is it a good idea to purchase it.. thanks
I’m unfamiliar with the Wrap Warranty, but if you feel it’ll ease your mind as the truck gets older, we say go for it. There are some things that can be expensive to fix. I decided against an extended warranty personally. -Austin
@teamoildrop thanks a lot for the reply. I'm leaning against the extended warranty since I'm a backyard mechanic, i do all the work on my own vehicles . So maybe if I have problems and need to buy a scan tool, it would be the smarter way to go rather than spend two thousand up front for peace of mind. The 3rd gen tacomas seem like there are minimal problems anyway. Btw great cannel
@ thank you! I also am very handy but have to take into consideration some things like parts and special electronics can only be replaced rather than repaired. It’s a double edged sword 🤷♂️
