Nice work man. I am replacing the belt on my 2nd gen taco, same procedure. How is the continental belt holding up for you after 2 years?
Same premise, not the same part number and I believe the routing is slightly different for the 4.0 vs 3.5, no issues on the continental belt at all!
@ cool, it is actually the same diagram for both engines which is cool, just took my old Belt off. Thanks!

The engine block drain plug. Do you happen to know what part number
I really dug deep to try and find this, I was able to confirm the Lexus part number is 90345A0001 for the 2GRFKS, but I wasn't able to figure out what the Toyota part equivalent should be. Regardless, this should be the whole assembly and should fit on the Tacoma as well (same engine). -Austin

@@Hatchet-wy3vn you could always pay more for a base ranger or a top trim Colorado vs the a base or top trim taco 😎 all these trucks are expensive these days
The quality of the videos you put up are incredible! I’m a 3rd gen Tacoma owner!
@@PAOutlaw thank you! And I love me some 3rd gens 😎
You could probably cut some lines on the top like a castle nut.
Hey! I love the channel and really appreciate your content. I have been shopping new trucks & Jeeps for a while and the more research I do, the more I find troubling issues with these new vehicles. Anyway, the Tacoma is at the top of my list, but videos like your fatal flaw video give me pause. Do you have any thoughts about the lack of bump stops for bottoming out suspension in the new Taco (as observed in the ICON video)?
@@ArtSleymaker thanks! As I’m not an avid off-roader and never plan to flex my truck to such extremes, I can’t say too much. However off-road and flex videos I’ve seen have put the taco at the head of the pack often. Don’t let this video sway you from a good truck. It’s an annoying thing, but not a dealbreaker IMO
Yeah, I don't put too much stock in all the Tacoma complaint videos (partly because all the trucks and Jeeps I'm considering buying have issues). Anyway, for those of us in the decision-making process, videos like yours are invaluable. Tacoma ranks at the top of my list for now (although the Wrangler is always nipping at its heels). I sure appreciate getting the benefit of your knowledge and experience with your new Tacoma. God bless you and your beautiful family!
@ thank you for the words brother! Yeah, it’s definitely a choosing game. Resale value is always a big key to me 😎
whats your hand measurement? im tryna figure out if the large would fit well
@@shianemi7595 I’m average length fingers but lean on the chunkier hand side
Everyone should be against 4th generation. Small turbo charged engines will not last or will cost more to repair and maintain. This is the opposite of Toyota values. They did it to save costs and force customers to pay for more repairs sooner.
@@hothmobile100 what about all the Toyota turbo trucks worldwide?
@@teamoildrop You mean the older turbo diesel? Yeah that's a different animal. Cast Iron block for one thing. That's not the new cheaply made and overly complicated petrol engines.
@ thoughts on its success across dozens of platforms Lexus and Toyota since 2021 with virtually no turbo failures to report? Define cheap, and be specific please.
@@teamoildrop The waste gate issue on Tundra is the one at top of my mind. The 4 cylinder turbo on tacomas is too new to see how poorly it will last without expensive repairs. But they are building small all aluminum 4 cylinder turbo engines for Tacoma because it's cheaper than casting a larger 6 cylinder cast iron block engine. Plastic valve covers, etc. High fuel pressure does not play well with cheap plastic. I'm not saying other brands are better. They are worse. I'm just pointing out Toyota screwed customers over by wanting to save so much money with small aluminum 4 cylinders and sticking a turbo charger to make it powerful enough. People buy Toyotas for simplicity and reliability. This new Toyota brand is different. I don't understand why I have to explain this.
@@hothmobile100 I won’t fight you, you bring more knowledges to the comments then 9/10 others. Time will tell and hoping for continued excellence 😎 🤞 It’s a giant gamble to put this T24A-FTS and ONLY this engine in every 4Runner and taco going forward. We shall see.
"It is so tight down there, so just stay with me." @ 7:07 THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!!! 😂😂
now that's merch!
I know this is off topic but do you have a remedy for a crooked steering wheel? Pretty sure the truck goes straight and would double check. Thanks
Really just having an alignment performed where they make sure the steering wheel is aligned straight. Outside of that you could uninstall and reinstall the steering wheel on a different spline, but that’s not really the correct way to fix it. -Austin
Let me pick your brain…… what’s you thought on a lift ? I’m looking at ordering a 25 with the TRD lift ?
Just depends on if you want the warranty associated with the lift or not. Tyler went with the peak design preload collar lift and really likes it! Much more budget friendly as well. www.peaksuspension.com/product-category/toyota/tacoma/24-tacoma/24-tacoma-suspension-kits/ -Austin
@ ok. Thank you Keep up the good work.
I have several sizes and types of cases, including Pelican cases. Recently, i bought a few cases made by Nanuk in Canada. These cases are very high quality. I like these Nanuk's more than most of my Pelicans. Definately worth looking into if you're into that kind of thing.

Which canopy would you recommend for a sleek look? I’m getting a chill pearl white and I want it to look far from a fleet vehicle, but i NEED a canopy!
Hard topper for security, soft topper for weight and price. Softtopper brand is great. Leer and ARE are the two more stylish versions. You could also get a metal one, SmartCap or ALUcab are good brands for those. -Austin
How often should it be replaced and should it be an OEM part? Thanks
30-50k and yes ideally but it isn't mission critical, it's a simple plastic valve. You can get beck & arnley ones on amazon that work great as well: amzn.to/3Q5goi8 -Austin
Does a lot of Toyota vehicles I think are great. I have a 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD pro in army Green. I love my little truck. I have spent a considerable amount of money on upgrades as well. Loved your video taught. It was very informative. I taught the fortune. The combs wouldn’t be too bad until I saw that stupid little button. They called the parking brake button which I consider to be your emergency handbrake.. I want a mechanical handbrake. It is your last defence of trying to stop your vehicle. I don’t need some electronic system to try and stop me. Electronic systems fail, considerably more than mechanical. And I think Toyota are calling it the parking brake instead of the emergency brake because it’s a plastic little piece of shit. No, I’m old school. I prefer to have the vast majority of my truck to run mechanically and not electronically. Any time I ever seem to have a problem with a vehicle the vast majority of the times it’s always electronically problem. So Toyota if this is going to be a continuing thing in your truck, it looks like I’ll spend the rest of my money, buying old third GEN Tacoma is in the future. I can’t have an emergency break like that. I also tend not to drive like a typical North American as growing in Europe the vast majority of my driving life was in a fully manual car and not an automatic.. It was strange for me for driving automatics I kept looking for the clutch. So back home, we use what you called the parking break. We called a handbrake. We tend to use that considerably more than when you’re driving a an automatic vehicle. There are many times you need to use your handbrake in conjunction with your clutch and accelerator. So the handbrake in my view has been tested and proven to be durableand it is never let me down. That electronic break the fact you’re calling in a parking break tells me everything I need to know.
Glad you're enjoying your 3rd gen, keep her maintained well with all of our videos! -Austin
@teamoildrop I will definitely be checking out more of your content for sure. Very much appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
I’ve put together some smaller 1/4” and 3/8” kits lately and it seems like you are still taking up a lot of empty space with foam. I’ve made a couple 1/4” out of dewalt bill holder cases and I’ve made a 3/8” kit as well. I’ve got more sockets and attachments in less space, and they click together. I use rotohead ratchets, since they also can be used as a driver with screwdriver and Allen and torx bits.
@@KosmicHRTRacingTeam mmhmm, this was mostly just for fun. Being the size of a lunchbox it’s hard length practical for my trucks storage and needs. Show us what you’ve made in the competition!
Do you know how you can achieve a cooler blowing a/c on a stock 4runner?
I’d make sure your AC is fully charged first. But if you’re in a warmer climate you could wire up some electric fans to a switch to help blow additional air over the condenser. Something like these: amzn.to/4aJUY3y -Austin

Hey guys, just did the exact same swap on my ‘22. Dropped it off to have the alignment done tomorrow. Does anyone happen to know about a VSC/pre-collision system error coming up after doing this? Is it normal or did I fudge something? I’ve seen some people say they had to take to a dealer for recalibration and other similar things, just kinda have an eery feeling at the minute.
Likely damaged an ABS sensor, or possibly needs a zero point calibration. Unfortunately you won’t be able to know until you pull codes from the ECU to tell you what the system is seeing as the issue. -Austin

what would you recommend for fuel filter replacement
There’s actually not a standard “fuel filter” on the 2nd gen’s and newer that needs to be serviced. There is just a metal screen on the fuel sending unit in the tank itself that does not require servicing per Toyota. -austin
Can it trigger to go on to blind the person about to rear end you in the 4th gen - maybe that would only make him rear end you all the more... jk
@@Salmonsqueezer it’s a camera to scope out nice pre-Tacoma pickups so i can gps locate and steal in the night… here have one on me… 😎
Hi there, not sure you covered it in one of your videos, but wanted to know what made you chose the iForce vs the iForce Max? Maybe a video idea if you haven't done one already...
@@jaisonswantek8853 ya know I’ve got raw video I need to edit up but in summary, NIMH battery life will degrade over 8-12 years, it’s just another part that can go wrong, you lose the rear seat cargo, it is torquey but the no -hybrid is plenty quick (for me).
Remove the light every time you need to connect a trailer! Would it not be better to connect to the bumper or underneath the hitch?
There's some pros and cons to each. Hitch mounted ones are more protected but need to be removed to tow, but ones mounted below the bumper could be damaged if driving off-road, etc. Hitchmount is an easy plug and play option for those who don't mind removing for towing! -Austin
@@loadz77 there’s plenty of options for that, many of us including myself don’t tow everyday
