“I’m coming back, you’re staying in the kitchen.” Oh boy was that line spine chilling. Not going to lie, this is really one of those movies where expectations can make it or break it. Luckily I was able to let go of my expectations, and enjoy it for what it was, but some people who have been eating up this marketing for the last 6 months may be HIGHLY disappointed. I can’t wait to rewatch this again Saturday
I saw this yesterday at a fan screening event and 24+ hours later, I’m still thinking about this movie. The constant sense of dread had me on the edge of my seat throughout. Loved the performances, loved the slow reveals of the mystery, loved this film!
I agree. It had such a 90s crime cop suspense and eeriness dread on the edge of your seat. I enjoyed solving and analyzing the mystery throughout. Heretic was thought provoking and impactful too.
This phone addiction thing is completely out of hand. People on the streets, the park, the shops, workmen, unemployed sitting in the Job Centre (!) are ALL on them, 2 year old kids in prams, the birds cats dogs rats and monkeys even!!! Anyway, this film sounds like something special. Whoa.
I saw a billboard with nothing but a phone number on it & decided to call it. It was over a minute of some creepy ass guy heavy breathing & whispering weird stuff to you! I had no idea that it was part of the marketing for this movie! It was brilliant & now I can't wait to see this! So glad you gave it a good review!
SO glad I dropped the money for the ticket! I've seen NOTHING but praise in titles for videos, without watching them. I'm going tomorrow and USUALLY between you and Ghost Pirate, you guys are AWESOME reviewers!
Aside from feeling like the resolution was rushed and a little weak, i really enjoyed this. Great acting all around, strong direction and music and some super haunting imagery. Cage is something else in this one.
I actually got to see this movie early, what a tence and strangely beautiful looking movie it was, can't wait for more people to see it and have their opinions out there
Great review! Going Sunday. Late Night With the Devil is my favorite movie so far this year. This review gives me hopes that it can equal or surpass it.
I recognized one of this movies actors playing an FBI agent. He viewed a guest room I had for rent years ago near Vancouver. I'm happy he's still working in the industry.
Absolutely you should do a video on lousy theater patrons. Experiences like yours used to be the exception, but became the norm back in the mid-2010s, and resulted in me swearing off theaters for what is likely to be life, as I've heard nothing about things getting better. I'll wait until home video to see this, but it looks awesome. Still want to see Maxxxine, too, even if it's not ranking as high as the first two.
Absolutely right. There are so many inconsiderate rude people who ruin your movie experience. I swore off theaters for many years too for the same reason. When I returned I noticed I wasn't missing anything. I rented this film thankfully. There was a couple making a ton of noise talking throughout the majority of movie for both when evil lurks and speak no evil which pissed me off to no end.
Been waiting for your review on this since you shouted me out on the trailer reaction! So glad you enjoyed it man and I truly can’t wait to watch it tomorrow
I just got home from watching the movie. I believe nic cage just gave the performance of his career. The movie was pure nightmare fuel. I can't wait to see more from this director.
So glad you enjoyed the movie, Lee. I saw it in a packed theatre tonight and everyone was locked in. One of my favourite movie-going experiences in a minute.
@DrumDums I’m finally seeing this today in about an hour at 2pm my time with my dad and I am super excited, I’ve actually been wanting to get out and see this for awhile now and honestly, I just told my dad what I knew which was that it was a 90’s style serial killer movie in the vein of Silence of the Lambs or Seven and I didn’t even show him the trailer as, the trailer kind of gave away some type of supernatural element and I don’t even want him to know that going in. That’s mostly because I don’t know much about the supernatural elements that eventually show up in the film and I don’t want him to know anything so, hopefully he can be as surprised about the movie as I will be if not more, due to the fact I won’t show him the trailer and hopefully he will be happy I didn’t by the time the credits roll, but we will see.
I’m so worried people are going to crap on this movie because they were gullible enough to think this is the “scariest” movie just based off other people’s opinions. I’ve already seen people say they didn’t like it because it wasn’t scary. 🤦♀️ Seeing it tomorrow and can’t wait! 😃
@@aronscott9698 Oh yeah, that’s what I was trying to say is for people not to base your thoughts off other people saying it’s scary. 😉👍 I have a list of movies that advertised that, and I didn’t think they were scary at all. 😂 I don’t think the scare factor should be how a movie is rated, but it seems like some people are saying it sucked because it wasn’t scary. Social media reactions of films and early reviews are probably some of the worst things to happen to the theater movie going experience. Creates a ridiculous unnecessary expectation that people then hold against it and go in with a slanted attitude.

@DrumDums I’m hoping to go catch this in theaters Friday with my dad as he asked me what I wanted to do Friday since he’s off work but, we shall see, I might be able to since it’s more of a silence of the lambs type film since, he’s not typically into horror but, I have watched Silence of the Lambs with him a couple times on streaming services recently, so I may be able to talk him into this one, I hope so, because if I can see this in theaters I would definitely prefer to do that over watching it on streaming.
I can't wait to see this film like you said perfect advertising of this film ... From the teaser trailers to full length trailers definitely leaves you wanting more ... Hope to see this weekend.
I just got home from seeing this movie. I was the only one in the theater since I saw the late-night show, that added to the atmosphere.. First, I don't think this movie was the traditional "scary" that many are going to want, but this movie is crazy creepy and unnerving. Nick Cage, I swear, does not get enough love for his acting. I can see some people dogging on this movie because they won't stop to think about what is portrayed and what this might be like in real life; If you were to encounter Cage's "Longlegs" for real on any level... you would never sleep again. Nick personifies what evil is in this movie and knocks his role out of the park. I never was scared but never comfortable. I hope everyone can put aside expectations and take this movie in; it is just excellent. I was pleasantly surprised.
Longlegs also reminds me of Zelda in Pet Semetary in the voice (“I’m coming for you Rachel…and this time…I’ll get you…GAGE..AND I…WILL GET YOU…for letting us die…hehehehee…”) and his look too, he’s a “Possessed Gepetto” I’ve heard

Ok Lee, not going to lie. I saw your video come up about this review and I didn't watch it until I saw a showing of long legs tonight. I have to say, I really enjoyed the film I still haven't processed everything yet... but I got the vibes from the movie Seven mixed with a Silence of The Lambs feeling. I still have a ton of questions... but hopefully I'll come up with answers. Loved the cinematography.... and settings. The farm at night during the storm was visually great.

I saw this last night and really liked it. No movie really scares me anymore (except the Exorcist..still!) but I still thought it was really good and I'd go again to see it, which is something I very rarely do. Lee, can you review Wolf Cop? Idk if you have already but I'd like to know if you liked it. I'm sure you've seen it
I’m right there with you, Leal! This is the kind of movie that you have to allow to wash over you. You have to let every nuance be observed to give yourself chills. If you approach it In a “show me what you’ve got” way, arm folded, and waiting for it to prove itself with outlandish, overt horror, you’re going to be disappointed. I loved it for its weirdness, and for its style of weirdness being that of a creepy, subtle weirdness, not a “hit you over the head every two minutes” kind of weirdness. I hope that makes some kind of sense.
I just got home from seeing Longlegs with some friends of mine, and we absolutely enjoyed it! I kept my expectations moderately low, so I won’t be disappointed. Thankfully, this movie delivered! Cant wait to see this ....I'll watch anything with Nic Cage in it ...I've heard some people say that this film is the "Silence of the lambs " of this generation ....Great review 👍
Saw it last night, I enjoyed it, but I was a little underwhelmed. I like slow burns, but the beginning was really slow to me and the ending was high octane and just ends. I will go see it again and see if I enjoy it more after another watch.
Lee about to lose his sh*t omg if someone was annoying AF like that in a movie let alone one we’ve all been so excited for-“that’s another video!” 😂 Great review, Lee I was waiting keeping an eye on YT to hear your first thoughts. 💓 Thank you! So excited to see it.
This movie is one of the better slow burns I’ve seen in a while. And coming off being disappointed with maxxxine, I thought the true crime mystery aspect of this film was done very well. It was intriguing, creepy, unsettling, and unnerving. And the final scene had my heart pumping. And Nicolas Cage really found the right tone in making his character over-the-top deranged without being silly. You mentioned Silence of the Lambs and 7️⃣, but I’d also compare this to Sinister in the nature of the killings, the atmosphere, and the stylistic choices with aspect ratios.
I watched Longlegs second time today and it might be the best looking horror/thriller I've seen in months. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. And Nicolas Cage is batshit crazy in this one.
Just got back from seeing it. Creepy af. Especially the end. I want to see it again. Just wish it was about 20 minutes longer and Oz let someone else handle the writing. Maika is a phenomenal actress.
Loved him in Raising Arizona by far his best film in my opinion. But recently he was fantastic in Renfield. Liked him in The Rock, a gem called Pig, Valley Girl, 8mm, Kickass, and one of my personal favorites called Mom and Dad.
If you liked this then I will also! Us Halloween Ends dudes must stick together! I loved Silence of the Lambs. I love all of what you said in a film!! I am seeing it this afternoon :)
This movie was fucking ridiculous, nonsensical, not scary and boring. I wanted to walk out halfway through but I paid for it and that was the only reason I stayed for the whole thing. The ending was the worst part of the whole movie.
One of the best horror thrillers I've seen in years it's up there with Seven and Slience of the lambs and Nicolas Cage this is his most creep performance

We should get nominated for this he has not been nominated in the last few years. The movies itself should get up for best picture.
For those that were let down this wasn’t scary, please name a movie you do think is scary then. I love scary!
this was an excellent movie. Longlegs the character is one of the greatest movie sinister villains in the past 50-100 years, for sure.
Lee about to lose his sh*t omg if someone was annoying AF like that in a movie let alone one we’ve all been so excited for-“that’s another video!” 😂
Great review, Lee I was waiting keeping an eye on YT to hear your first thoughts. 💓 Thank you! So excited to see it.
Haha I had to stop myself Erica! Go see this immediately!
Nic Cage and this director should make a new Ghost Rider movie
if u had to compare the films style to the style of an Eggers, peele or aster film which one would u say it’s most similar too.
In my opinion, probably Aster. But, this is without a doubt an Oz Perkins movie.
Definitely Aster.
I hope to go Saturday
I have to wait until next weekend for longlegs
This movie is one of the better slow burns I’ve seen in a while. And coming off being disappointed with maxxxine, I thought the true crime mystery aspect of this film was done very well. It was intriguing, creepy, unsettling, and unnerving. And the final scene had my heart pumping. And Nicolas Cage really found the right tone in making his character over-the-top deranged without being silly. You mentioned Silence of the Lambs and 7️⃣, but I’d also compare this to Sinister in the nature of the killings, the atmosphere, and the stylistic choices with aspect ratios.
Love a good slow burn.
I watched Longlegs second time today and it might be the best looking horror/thriller I've seen in months. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. And Nicolas Cage is batshit crazy in this one.
It's amazing.
Just got back from seeing it. Creepy af. Especially the end. I want to see it again. Just wish it was about 20 minutes longer and Oz let someone else handle the writing.
Maika is a phenomenal actress.
Nicholas Cage was incredible by far his best role ever and theirs only 4 movies of him that I love face off, long legs, con air and gone in 60 seconds
When he’s in the car after buying stuff from the girl at the shop, I knew this was the Cage I paid to see. Love that guy!
U need to see 9mm then. Best cage movie ever. And dark as fuck
@@BrandonLeeTalks8mm
Yes! He always surprises me with his performances.
Loved him in Raising Arizona by far his best film in my opinion. But recently he was fantastic in Renfield. Liked him in The Rock, a gem called Pig, Valley Girl, 8mm, Kickass, and one of my personal favorites called Mom and Dad.
I can't wait to see this movie! I haven't even seen the trailer because I want to go in completely clueless.
The less you know the better Grace.
If you liked this then I will also! Us Halloween Ends dudes must stick together! I loved Silence of the Lambs. I love all of what you said in a film!! I am seeing it this afternoon :)
Hell yeah brother!
Excellent horror pic! Longlegs is one of the best horror villains in decades.
Agreed!
This movie was fucking ridiculous, nonsensical, not scary and boring. I wanted to walk out halfway through but I paid for it and that was the only reason I stayed for the whole thing. The ending was the worst part of the whole movie.
Yeah it wasn't scary. I haven't been scared since 1988.
same, very annoyed by people in cinemas lately, phones and stuff....
happy you liked it
Lee was standing on business 15 minutes into the movie haha.
Both accounts. Nice.
Looking forward to this one and maxxxine big time!!!!
One of the best horror thrillers I've seen in years it's up there with Seven and Slience of the lambs and Nicolas Cage this is his most creep performance
Yes James!
