I completely agree. The trailer gripped me, the movie simply did not deliver. I have several members of my family that the movie was targeted towards and they didn’t like it either.
I really enjoyed "Trap", but you're completely correct about your criticism of the movie. It's totally frustrating, and you have to switch all logic off. I appreciated it i think for what this movie could have been if it had been made during the 1960's. I felt like Werewolves should have been marketed as an action/monster movie more heavily. Watching it reminded me of late-night HBO or Showtime I found so many action/monster movies back in the 80's/90's. I Come in Peace, Full Eclipse, They Live (one of the best movie fights put to film R.I.P. Rowdy Piper) but yeah, I think if they pushed it more as an action movie with Werewolves instead of a horror movie with action it may have worked better. I miss good ole B-Movies and the love of them Toxic Avenger, Ring of Fire, C.H.U.D., The Wraith, The Stuff. No matter action/horror/comedy/martial arts B-Movies are so good for just dumb fun. That's how I look at Werewolves as a B-level movie and as that I thought it was pretty okay. I've seen better B-Movies about Werewolves or Wolfmen, but I'd watch it again.
My ex-wife is a professional card reader/astrologer/psychic, so I gave Tarot a chance on that alone. It's really stupid, and I won't be revisiting it... ever.
@@beautifulnoisevinylandgami7746 personally, I did not like Longlegs, but that is my personal opinion. However 2 Asian horror films got the spotlight for me - Dead Talents Society from Taiwan and Exhuma from South Korea
Good list. I have to admit I did like Trapped. I'm not an M. Night groupie lol. I just remember liking the movie when I saw it but I will admit I never once thought I need to see it again. Once again I think you did a great job with the list.
Finally starting my rewatches for my 2024 to horror. I'm starting with my first movies i watched and one that doesn't get the attention it deserves is Destroy All Neighbors.
@@DrumdumsOfficial I like you might like it a little more than most as it is about a prog metal guy trying to finish his first prog album while a bunch of incidences happen
Okay. Waaaaay in the minority here. TRAP was a definite nod to the worst of Brian De Palma films, which is why I liked it! All of it's imperfections and missed opportunity actually made it fun. Hartnett and the actress playing the daughter, both had great chemistry and yes, Saleka deserves small credit for having to pull off the music and concert footage. True...she acted like she was still taking acting classes, but I prefer to focus on the positive. Yes on all counts though - she was NO Skye Riley! Lol! I think it would've been more fun to really tear into TIME CUT in my humble opinion. 😁
I loved Trap so much, I am also an unabashed Shamaylan family simp tho, so. I've worked at an arena like the one in the movie for a few years, and to me it was VERY realistic throughout that whole thing. If you have situational awareness, you are a trained first reponder, and some luck, you could actually pull that off. The militarized swat vehicles were possibly a bit much, but he was such a danger that who knows. And also, it's a Hollywood frickin' movie, that's exactly the kind of thing I grew up watching and loving. Afterwards, as outrageous as some of his escapes were, they were well laid, and my disbelief was suspended just fine. And it was sooo cool to see old man Josh Hartnett, who I thought killed it.
I liked Trap for the most part, until...the story shifted to the singer (Shyamalan's daughter). She literally ruined the entire thing...as shown here. One of the worst actors I've ever seen. It was a shame.
I like the popes exorcist, and the reason is Russell Crowe. I really like him so not to the point where everything he does is golden in my eyes it’s not that way, but I thought this was really good and he was acting was really really made it a better movie altogether, couldn’t see any other actor being in that role in that movie being any good otherwise
Oh yeah big oof. Ive said it for plenty of movies but it especially applies to ends. If you dont like the directions the story went thays fine. Your enjoyment is subjective. But on every technical or objective aspect ends is a very well made movie. You may not enjoy it as much, but its a better made film than a tarot, or any other generic ho hum horror movie.
Surprisingly, I haven’t seen any of these; thanks to you, I know I can pass! I am really bummed about Strangers as I had high hopes; I really enjoyed the original and its sequel!
My worst horror movies: 1. Kalinga 2. The Platform 2 3. Fuck Marry Kill 4. Shaitaan 5. Violett 6. Darkgame 7. Wynonna Earp 8. Carnage Christmas 9. Black Cab 10. The Train of Death 11. Hellboy 12. Afraid 13. House of Spoils 14. Handling the Undead 15. Night Swim 16. #AMFAD 17. Time Cut 18. Salem's Lot 19. Do You See What I See 20. Feet of Death 21. The Mouse Trap 22. Die Alone 23. Art of a Hit
Apartment 7A was very solid and was a direct to streaming offering making it even better! Werewolves is cheesy fun! Trap was ok even though not believable.
No matter the year, there will always be stinkers. I thought - Exorcism, Hold Your Breath, Out Comes the Wolves, Strangers CH1, The Mouse Trap, and It's What's Inside, were all terrible and boring. Tarot I actually enjoyed because of the cards.
I hope that Blum House turns a tight corner in 2025 with Wolf Man and The Black Phone 2, but they didn't release anything in 2024 that appealed to me; of course, I haven't seen any of those releases, but it all looked like mainstream, soulless, cash-grabs.
Most of the movies that you have on your list are on mine Top 10 Worst horror movies of 2024. You're right about Afraid, they could have an 'Alexa' clone as that would have much better than the crap that they use in that film.
My thoughts on trap, and the concept of suspension of disbelief. I will suspend disbelief to buy into the premise of the movie. If you get me there, im down for the ride. But when you want me to do that for specific moments that make no sense within the established premise, im out. Thats just lazy writing.
Trap wasn't a horror movie, it was a serial killer thriller and i enjoyed it on that level, whatever some people may think, if you didnt like the film you cant fault Josh Hartnett's unnerving, committed and effective performance.
The Strangers is one of the most boring films I recall ever seeing, but I love Prey At Night, so I gave Chapter One a chance, and I must say that I think that it's better than the original. I'll see Chapter Two, because the trailer gives me a sliver of hope for it.
Hehe, I love hearing about the bad ones. I have not seen TRAP yet, but I will admit that I loved THE VILLAGE and THE HAPPENING, but hated SIGNS and LADY IN THE WATER. I may just like it.

You are sooooo right about Trap. Woof.
Beaten to death should be almost as hated as Halloween Ends! Tool still f'n Rocks!!!!! ❤
Why Russell Crowe why?
A strangers trilogy why?
Scream 5 and 6 grew on me so much this year, I hope 7 is connected so we can get nice Trilogy steel book. This year is all about Mortal Kombat 2.
5 definitely grew on me. 6 is quite frustrating.
It's really stupid, and I won't be revisiting it... ever.
Movies like tarot, night swim and imaginary feel like they came out years ago
Such a forgettable year for horror
An average year for Blumhouse, great year for everything else
What about Immaculate, The First Omen, Heretic and The Substance. Surly these are great for horror this yr.
@@archangelnew Not to mention Oddity, Longlegs and Nosferatu
@@beautifulnoisevinylandgami7746 unfortunately for me, my country does not screen Nosferatu till late February
Yeah there were quite a few that liked Trap. I think that's cool.
Finally starting my rewatches for my 2024 to horror. I'm starting with my first movies i watched and one that doesn't get the attention it deserves is Destroy All Neighbors.
I meant to give that one a watch.
@@DrumdumsOfficial I like you might like it a little more than most as it is about a prog metal guy trying to finish his first prog album while a bunch of incidences happen
TRAP aka Brian De Palma's lost movie! 😂😂😂
My worst:1 AfrAId 2 Imaginary 3 History of evil 4 The Watchers 5 Salem's Lot
I mitigate my disappointment by never watching new movies.
Thank you for sharing. Shyamalan definitely has his devoted fans, and that's cool.
The Crow
Tarot
Imaginary
Night Swim
Yeah I agree with u the crow should never of been remade as the the Blumhouse 3 movies on your list they were rubbish bigtime 👎🥱😴
Trap wasn't doing what you claim, I enjoyed tyew movie. Trap was entertaining, no: "Thought" provoking, it was just another offering from Shamalan
The last act of the Watchers was my bag…..
Nice! Glad you enjoyed it.
I'm not saying i'll ever watch it again but Trap entertained me more than these other 9 movies..
You might be right based on this list haha.
I have to agree with you on your list, Afraid was so underwhelming
I liked Trap for the most part, until...the story shifted to the singer (Shyamalan's daughter). She literally ruined the entire thing...as shown here. One of the worst actors I've ever seen. It was a shame.
I liked it until he escaped. So many plot holes and it was cartoonishly bad.
Yeah that’s when it went off a cliff.
As a die hard Halloween fan, I appreciate Tarot, way more than Halloween Ends!
Oof.
I really wanted The Strangers to deliver. Renny does it again!
Afraid wouldn’t even scare me when I was 8.
Haha god that movie sucked.
My worst horror movies:
1. Kalinga
2. The Platform 2
3. Fuck Marry Kill
4. Shaitaan
5. Violett
6. Darkgame
7. Wynonna Earp
8. Carnage Christmas
9. Black Cab
10. The Train of Death
11. Hellboy
12. Afraid
13. House of Spoils
14. Handling the Undead
15. Night Swim
16. #AMFAD
17. Time Cut
18. Salem's Lot
19. Do You See What I See
20. Feet of Death
21. The Mouse Trap
22. Die Alone
23. Art of a Hit
Hell’s playlist.
Luckily I didn't watch any of those except watched the crow and deleted it halfway through.
@anikm111 the crow isn't even on this but that is only because of the opera scene
I’m also a fan of Halloween Ends as well. I understand the hate, but it’s a well made film and has some brutal kills.
Apartment 7A was very solid and was a direct to streaming offering making it even better!
Werewolves is cheesy fun!
Trap was ok even though not believable.
Tarot had such a great concept that dropped the ball. Jacob Batolan's shtick is wearing thin on me.
Tarot could have been really fun if not for a few blunders. Happy new year brother!
Happy New Year Bro!!
The Strangers Chapter 1 is an extended opening scene
Pretty sad that the "twist" in Trap was "Oh, you were enjoying this film? Well, my daughter is an incredibly shitty actress...and I'll prove it!"
This! 😂😂😂
I agree with your entire list - my 3 worst were Werewolves, Imaginary, and Night Swim.
Thank you!
I actually had a lot of fun with M Nights film, it was stupid but genuinely super fun to watch
Love that!
For me Trap was the worst. I felt insulted, so so stupid. I literally ended up angry
I hope that Blum House turns a tight corner in 2025 with Wolf Man and The Black Phone 2, but they didn't release anything in 2024 that appealed to me; of course, I haven't seen any of those releases, but it all looked like mainstream, soulless, cash-grabs.
Yeah Wolfman and BP2 look promising.
Most of the movies that you have on your list are on mine Top 10 Worst horror movies of 2024. You're right about Afraid, they could have an 'Alexa' clone as that would have much better than the crap that they use in that film.
Yeah Afraid was SOOOO bad.
I'm very much a non-fan of M Night, but I almost saw Trap. Based on what I know about it, I am glad I didn't.
Yeah it's so bad.
Is it weird that I like the worst list better than the best list? lol
Happy new year, brother
Haha damn!!
I totally screwed that up, I meant I like watching your worst of lists, that way I know what to avoid 😂
My thoughts on trap, and the concept of suspension of disbelief. I will suspend disbelief to buy into the premise of the movie. If you get me there, im down for the ride. But when you want me to do that for specific moments that make no sense within the established premise, im out. Thats just lazy writing.
Lazy writing....exactly!
Trap wasn't a horror movie, it was a serial killer thriller and i enjoyed it on that level, whatever some people may think, if you didnt like the film you cant fault Josh Hartnett's unnerving, committed and effective performance.
I don't think Trap was bad
Awesome!
It's s shame about the exorcism because the one he was also in the pope's exorcist was really good, what a down grade
7:05 this film is in my top ten. It’s in 10th place for me
Nice!
Not see this, never will
The Strangers is one of the most boring films I recall ever seeing, but I love Prey At Night, so I gave Chapter One a chance, and I must say that I think that it's better than the original. I'll see Chapter Two, because the trailer gives me a sliver of hope for it.
Lee you’re the best my friend
Thank you!
Funny how we humans are. We enjoy the bad almost as much (if not more) than the positive stuff XD
How do I deal with negative stuff I don’t like
Ever watch Last Straw? The plot was kind of odd.
Hehe, I love hearing about the bad ones. I have not seen TRAP yet, but I will admit that I loved THE VILLAGE and THE HAPPENING, but hated SIGNS and LADY IN THE WATER. I may just like it.
Ngl. I do too haha.
I know Tarot was bad but I see my self rewatching it cuz of the good looking cast
