- The diet version of the viscount from last week- featuring Sideplates instead of sidelocks and less hand finishing - is this still a good model?

I do love the look of an english stock.
It would be like going up to two girls in a bar ........beep... And black screen. I had to watch that bit 3, 4, 5 times. Yes I laughed on each time! Great film, really appreciate the sites content and style. I am worried about one thing though, will John still speak to mere mortals? Keep up the great work !
I really like its paired down look - nice scroll-work, no stupid pheasant scenes badly done, nice small trigger guard, simple design, good wood. The basics done well for a good price. Perfect for solo camping/hunting trips.
Thanks John - nice review in your own inimitable style. William Powell were the classiest of the retailers in that part of the city leading on to Birmingham’s Gun Quarter.
I’m a convert to Browning O/U’s these days but when I see a stylish SxS like that I have entirely unreliable memories of the days when we all shot superbly with them. A more recent memory tells me that the last time I fired one it kicked like a mule.
Keep them coming John - always a good watch.
Great review! Johnny you must have won “Get a line from the Streets in to a classic style side by side review!” Bet!
Props to whoever chose the opening song, I’m a big fan of faodail... and the sovereign is cool too 👍
Any chance you could look at any of the William Powell Over/Unders, do you have any thoughts on the Perdix, Pheonix, etc? Thinking about buying one vs a Beretta EELL.
Maybe you could do a comparison video between the current Spanish and Italian sxs.
Jonny Boy naughty?? That's a lovely gun indeed. Why or why did you review the other one first lesson learned there LOL. Was there a bit of gun snobbery creeping in, shame on you :-)
Still a great watch fella, and reviewed with an honest answer to what you thought.
interesting - I tried the viscount and the sovereign recently for GunsOnPegs and honestly I've have the sovereign in a 20bore over the viscount in 20 or the sov in 12
You’ve got a great channel! Huge “Yank” fan...you could review toilet paper and I’d listen!
As long as he doesn't take it out for a field trial.
I’m pushing my luck, but it worked for me last time. Now the Perdix II! :)
How would this Rizzini-made William Powell compare to Battista Rizzini guns sold under his own name?
Mmmm, that's about the same price as the paralello .... food for thought...
Great looking a handling Gun you say,That's a lot of cracks and Clays you can get with the change left over from its dearer brother .And do tell as the rest of the two girls in the bar story? Beeep!
For the money, it's probably the best value side by side on the market. Plus it's future proof , superior steel shot proof.
For the same money what else is there? A second hand AYA No2 , or maybe a new AyA No4 ..
For the cost a great handling, general purpose game gun..At just under 5k .
Would be interesting to do a comparison of a William Powell to that of a true Rizzini like the Perdix - Artemis etc. Price point, finish and what ever else! Mainly to help me make a decision!
Rizzini will do any thing you ask for so, price is the onely factor ito look at in choosing between Powell and rizzini both say made in Italy but one says Powell
Very good from iraq
What make is that cap you wearing ?
Laksen Firle
What is the history behind an Ivan Johnson side by side
Quoting Mike Skinner, what next 21st century urban shooting attire. Lovely gun but well out of my price range. Doesn't stop me watching the videos, dreams are free
As far as I know, none of the AYA boxlocks is this good priced. E.g. AYA Nº 4/53 sells at almost £7000, while the Sovereign is just below £5000 (add an extra £750 for a customised stock, if desired). And Nº 4/53 doesn’t nearly look this nice. Clearly some food for thought.
👍
It’s a nice gun but I’d imagine it wouldn’t hold its value like the other you reviewed I think I’d rather spend the extra money I find the short trigger guard the most unattractive standard point and the engraving isn’t to my liking
Gunshorts eat your heart out.
Funny that Brits might consider any Ford products desirable.
