Hockey players are typically some of the nicest people you meet. They get everything out on the ice. Nothing is personal, really. It's primal. If they take that out of hockey, we're left with a boring game
There's an etiquette and protocol to engaging in a hockey fight. A hockey fight has its own code of conduct. Hockey fights are and hopefully will always be an integral part of the sport. Scrums on the other hand are disrespectful to the game and the players.
Everything about this makes me respect it as a man. The taunting whacks onto the ice get his targets attention, stopping right in the middle of the rink (even more badass if its the opposing goalies team logo on the ice hes standing on), the nonchalant shrug once he has his attention and standing their like a teutonic knight before battle, the lackadaisical tossing of his stick to the side as he slowly skates forward unto combat, the fighters fidget he does with his right glove like hes priming it for battle. You can tell this aint his first rodeo and thats hes as comfortable watching the goal as he is with decking the opposing teams goalie.
He stopped before center line to avoid any chance for premature penalty. If the fight starts before either side crosses the line then it's just a 5 min timeout

He tapped. He heard the challenge and rose to the occasion. Love it
That goalie heard the call to come fight through all of the other fighting!
Goalie sticks smacking the ice is like a small gunshot lol
@@FundyisleLegacy I've heard it, and you're right. It's still impressive, it's like he was a boss, fighting with the other players, just to pass the time and like he was waiting for it. Very entertaining all around.
The slow slide-up, the stick smashing, the head tilt/shoulder shrug combo, and the stick throw. All just pure perfection of “I’m right here, bitch. TF you gonna do about it?” Colder than the ice he slides on 🥶

My favorite part is that the white goalie is already elbow deep in the scuffle and just SENSES the red goalie waiting for him
Nah he HEARS him - he knows that sound, goalies sticks make a different much louder sound on the ice. It's also an unwritten rule that goalies can only face each other, they're otherwise not the ones you mess with or face the rest of the teams wrath. They also are expected not to interfere in that same vein, hence why he rolled up to remind the other goalie. "Pick on someone your own size"
@@manajunkiesI've heard that it's because goalies are so valuable, but that may be wrong, unsure.
I'd assume part of it is also that goalies have so much padding. It's like choosing to fight a guy in full plate armor while you're in jeans.
Ducks and Kings. (Orange and White) a phenomenal rivalry.
@@kino_935Ducks and queens have a long standing rivalry, Ducks brought the Stanley cup to CA first tho
@@Ryzard vision is more limited, stuff is heavier so movement is more limited, they're the most padded, but the most vulnerable to attack because of the speed nerf. So fucking with goalies is universally a dick move. That said, one goalie squares up the other can't refuse.

A squabble
A Hickey Do
A fracas
There's a reason goalies are positioned on opposite ends of the stadium/field 🥴
Love that he is a tank in heavy armor
for those of you that don’t know this is how goalies challenge each other because in a fight situation when a goalie crosses center ice they can and will be ejected. So one slaps their stick at the other other and if both goalies see from the beginning they’ll skate and meet at center but in this case the other goalie was a little tied up lol… goalies, we’re different
Clueless about hockey culture here. Appreciate that explanation 👌
🙌🏾🔥
Thanks
How tf does goalie beef even happen? They're literally on opposite ends of the rink, stuck in a net. UFC on ice is confusing as hell
Goalie aura
The best part about goalie fights. The one goalie initiating BUT not crossing the center red line. They have standards obviously.
2nd period, 3 minutes, 27 seconds, Center Ice, Be THERE. And there he was...
Goalies are kinda nuts
If the goalie crosses the red line it's an automatic 2 min penalty.
Especially if he plays the puck or makes a check..
I'm not a hockey fan but I've seen enough to know they actually do have "unwritten rules" about fighting. Mic'ed up they politely will ask if they wanna fight. Dude will say no and to go try SO AND SO 😂😂
These comments are killing 😂😂😂😂
“Wanna go? Drop em then”
“I’m bout that life but I have one target and if we’re doing this we’re doing it at center ice for the whole stadium”
My favorite Goalie fight was when two brothers-in-law went at it, grinning like maniacs.
What?
The editing really does make this more awesome. I don’t even watch hockey but I must have watched this like 20 times. That head tilt, the swag… cold AF.
Music choice could've been better
Agreed
Idk about that the stick slaps matching the music was dope.@brrrrrr
Nah music is PERFECT!!!! R u Kidding!!!! PERFECT!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It’s the head tilt/shrug for me. And the stick toss. And basically all of it!
In hockey Goalie is everything for the team..... Don't you dare to fight a goalie unless you can endure the wrath of the whole team. But if a goalie challanges another one ,it's a duel of honour. Kudos to both.....

Aren’t goalies usually one of the biggest people on the team. Seemed like it in college and high school
@@hacksawhackmann idk, but i'll believe whatever you say

@@hacksawhackmannnot always the biggest chara was 6'9". But goalies are usually the fastest reacting people in the room, 100+ MPH pucks come at them on the reg.
Goalie in white snapped his face to see who was calling him out like Leatherface looking at someone who just came around the corner. Love the warrior spirit in both of them. LET THE WOLVES EAT!!!
The Kings goalie (in white) is a legit warrior. The orange clown goalie is actually being extremely cringey. Nothing is stopping him from getting involved. Guarantee you if he stepped in and started fighting the other goalie, the ref/linesman would have let em go.
Bro popped up like "Who da fook is this!?" 😂
@@pinkthanks4urdogtagz860 i mean, if the kings goalie is as badass as you say, he's effectively pulling the strongest enemy out of the team fight, for a 1v1 EVEN knowing he might lose. thats absolutely still an bold strategy. It also looks like the kings goalie was the core of the dogpile so the moment he disengaged, the pile was broken up. If he knew that, and did it for that reason, it was a bluff, that stopped the fight, and equally brilliant. All hockey opinions aside, this taunt was the perfect move.

Yep. You can hear from any live televised hockey game when a player is about to come out the penalty box.
Goalie sticks are big “fuck off” paddles of defense. When it slaps, you *listen* and you listen good. >:3

Seasons is just starting. Couldn't be more excited.
Man popped out of the dogpile like his clan had been dishinored, and if he didn't fight, it was on him, lol.
that was EXACTLY what happened hahahaha
I love that the goalie was in the middle of a dogpile already and heard that stick slap, understood EXACTLY what was going down, and hauled ass

When your going to fight that hand just twitch's.....totally get that......
Yep that about covers it .
You literally typed out what happened in the video and yet I kept reading the entire thing. Loved it.

The body language man.
The. Slamming of the Goalie Hockey Stick.
That Shrug and Neck adjustment said everything they nedded to initiate.
A sport that allows both sides to arm themselves with lethal clubs and relaxed enough rules to give vent to some primal battle instincts. I like ice hockey.

Thank you! I’ve been searching the comments for which team was the guy in red. It’s been like almost 10 years since I’ve followed anything hockey related (we moved out of state to another state that doesn’t have hockey).
@@soonmeekim930 Fam I had no idea of any hockey teams here i was just making a joke off the video and it felt right to call him that. But, I went ahead to do some research on this and the red team are the Anaheim Ducks and the goalie is John Gibson. The incident is, the goalie from the LA Kings (team in white), Pheonix Copley got knocked by a guy from the Ducks named Frank something and they got into it and Copley knocked the guy down and got in some punches while he was down. While the refs were separating them, Copley was still hot and wanting to fight, so like a chad, John Gibson slowly moves up to half ice, sent out his taunt, and that’s how we got this masterpiece. The refs interfered thought so an actual fight didn’t happen but it was cool all the same.
