Here's how I triggered this dialogue when I took this video: 1. Tell Aylin about Lorroakan. 2. Do NOT talk to Isobel after telling Aylin about Lorroakan. 3. Kill Lorroakan. 4. Wait for Aylin to return to camp. Do NOT talk to Aylin at camp or she and Isobel will leave. 5. Talk to Isobel.
And she's Isobel's himbo, haha. Seriously, though, in her defense, Isobel could be her first (mortal) girlfriend, so that's why she thought taking a month-long walk was perfectly okay.

This might be why Ketheric was uncomfortable with Isobel dating Aylin. Isobel might live to be 200 years old or so, which is a long time to her but to a deity is trivial amount of time. Aylin might not be able to fully understand how this behavior impacts Isobel. Stepping out for a month for her is like stepping out for a couple of seconds for her. They have time to work through stuff like this but I can see an over protective dad being anxious that his kid could get hurt emotionally.
Ketheric had valid reasons to be concerned about Isobel and her relationship with Aylin. And there's no denying how much he loves his daughter, considering everything he went through to bring her back. That said, I lost any sympathy for him when I learned that he freakin' tadpoles Isobel if you let Marcus capture her in Last Light Inn. That's just all kinds of screwed up and proof he's too far gone. To his credit, at least he's aware of it.
Thanks for posting this. It is nice to have some payoff to Aylin's moment after the Lorroakan fight. As you said in another post, it seems to be bugged or unlikely to happen.
I remember someone mentioning that Aylin may have broken her oath during the fight with loroakan which actually did have some good evidence for it mostly how her describing a feeling that is also described to you if you play paladin and break your oath it’s actually really interesting especially since Isobel brings it up here that she seems different
Her breaking her oath was originally my guess, too, but after seeing the devnotes, I think she hasn't. Not yet, anyway. The devnotes say it's trauma finally getting to her, and she's angry with her mother. I'd say she's one crazy immortal-hunting bastard away from breaking her oath.
@@justanotherignot I think so too. She's been through immense emotional and physical torture and trauma for such a long time. Even if she's immortal, I think that's why she felt even more hopeless when she was being extorted in the Shadowfell. Not even death could save her. It would make sense for her to even curse or feel left to her own demise by her mother. That she'd let this happen or didn't do anything to interfere or save her out of the mess. And the fact that she was stuck shortly after losing the love of her life (if I remember correctly), how alone would someone feel. Lorroakan was just another reminder of how much humans and other creatures can fucking suck. But the fact that she has to keep slaying them since it's her duty? I can't imagine how heavy that can weigh in her mind. I might be assuming a lot but from what Larian has shown, even the greatest of Gods and/or immortals can still feel very raw emotions.
@@FoxYinnyy I think Aylin being immortal is exactly the issue. Isobel herself points it out. I'm paraphrasing, but it's something like, "She can suffer like the rest of us, but for longer." The devnotes regarding Aylin's anger towards her mother is truly heartbreaking. It goes something like, "How could her powerful mother let this happen to her?" Everything you said (and it's so well said, thank you!) is actually really on point. How did you get this conversation? It seems like it triggers after the Lorroakan fight, but I have never been able to unlock these dialogue options with Isobel afterwards. Did they add this is a recent patch?
Yeah, I was really banging my head against the wall trying to figure it out. The trick is to NOT talk to Isobel after you tell Aylin about Lorroakan because doing that locks you out of this dialogue for some stupid reason. So what you do is tell Aylin - kill Lorroakan - wait for Aylin to go back to camp - speak to Isobel. That's how I got it to work for me, anyway.
When does this happen? After the lorroakan fight Aylin reacts in a wierd way, then i proceeded to never see her again in my playthrough. 🤔Did i miss something?
It's actually easy to miss because you shouldn't talk to Isobel after you tell her and Aylin about Lorroakan. If you do, it blocks you out of this dialogue. Just made a new pinned comment with more details if you want to check it out :)
If we do get a dlc, I could 100 percent see lady shar going on a revenge tour. Think about it. She was just minding her own business just gets blown out due to mainly collateral damage. And Aylin breaking her oath may unleash that, allowing shar to corrupt her
I wouldn't call Shar letting her own niece be tortured and murdered for a hundred years and then trying to use Shadowheart to permanently kill her as minding her own business. Edit: typo
@@outtatime9836 It was never explained, no. The Act 2 timeline, when you think about it, really doesn't make a lot of sense. Makes you wonder about things like: why did Ketheric even die in the first place if he and Balthazar had already trapped Aylin in the Shadowfell back then? Aylin says no one's been to the Shadowfell for a hundred years, but that she was also tortured and killed for a hundred years. There's so many plot holes, haha. It feels like it had a different plot (maybe connected to Halsin having been the one who killed Isobel), and then they changed it halfway through but never bothered to have the whole thing make sense. I don't mind too much, though, since I really like Aylin and Isobel.
@@justanotherignot more I think about it, this feels like the contested realm of shar and sulune, and kethric thorm was just a random side character that lost his daughter in the war, and an enraged father went on a tour of conquest and had to be put down by the local druids. If I could put money on it, Isabel died protecting a sununite encampment, and thorm just lost all control

@@FoxYinnyy Aylin is a Vengeance Paladin, not a Devotion Paladin. Snapping Lorroakan in half would be sticking to her Oath, not breaking it.
Long-lived creatures don't have the same concept of time as humans. Frieren is a good example.

Lorroakan, like Aradin, are two great examples of characters with zero redeeming qualities.
Losing the Inn was my biggest failure on playthrough one. Seeing these two together on my current playthough has been so rewarding. They are adorable.
