Played through the first 3 games about a month ago. I was never allowed to play Halo as a kid as I had no older brother, and my parents were strict about any video games with blood. Even playing through at 20 years old, on mouse and keyboard, these games invoked a sense of mystery and wonder in me. Even as a little kid you knew this soundtrack was fire. I got Halo 2 at Best Buy on the way back from vacation around 2006. Way overdue but it was fun. Then a year later halo 3 for Christmas and so on
Heavy Price Paid has always had this strong grip on my heart. It is just so sadly peaceful. I remember this as a kid and seeing how the brutes betrayed the elites with this playing in the back ground for the first time. Time really stopped for me right then.
I doubt we’ll ever have soundtracks like this anymore because we’ll never have games like this anymore. Corporations are more focused on just make it and send it out so we can profit. But I feel like this was a time when videos games weren’t as conglomerate as they are now. More creative independent thought, halo has a true pop culture identity, not because it copies everything the modern games do ie. battle royal, online focused, pay to win, seasons and relying on the sale of accessories. Bro you could choose a main colour and a secondary colour and a symbol and that’s all halo 2 gave you. What else did you really need? They focused on gameplay, story, characters, setting and most importantly a soundtrack that encapsulates the world of halo. You can listen to the halo soundtrack and imagine every single mission in your head because it’s so iconic. But not in a bro that’s so lit fad way but a more professionally well thought out concept. I suggest getting The Art of Halo, it’s an old book but it’ll bring back memories you long forgot.
I was born in 2004 I played with the first generation Xbox console, I remember one of my first games played was Kung Fu Chaos back when i was just a toddler Jump forward into the early 2010's, my brothers and I were able to get the Xbox 360, an iconic, awesome console that I still have with me (and still use, primarily to play BO2) to this day. Fast forward to today, September 2024, after 20 years of my life, I own a Xbox Series S, its quite old and slow, and I still love it. It's unfortunate that Xbox is thinking of ending the production of consoles and switching to a more gaming streaming platform focus. People like us are truly blessed to have grown up in an era in which we used to be gifted game disks by our parents or friends and would go nuts over a blurry graphic, 720p definition game with an iconic soundtrack that has permanently stuck with an entire (already grown) generation. It's only right that we do the same with the next generation, perhaps show them what endless creativity and imagination can show instead of having them be the victim of mediocre to poor creative short videos made specifically as a quick dopamine hit to satisfy their already degrading short attention spans. Although I was about a year old when the first Iphone was released, I am still thankful for the time when the internet was still relatively new, and smart/tactile phones werent as widely used. I hope that, in a way, we could being that feeling back.
It's insane how one game can have so many tracks that are straight up iconic.

For me simply the best ost of all times, movies or games included, a piece of art
I may not be able to enjoy this game for the first time again, but I am 100% going to be there when my son does, and hopes he enjoys it just as much as I did
Halo 2 you could really feel the forerunners regret for what they had to do. Loved the callouts in the series, the monitors names, and songs included were fantastic.
Even as a little kid you knew this soundtrack was fire. I got Halo 2 at Best Buy on the way back from vacation around 2006. Way overdue but it was fun. Then a year later halo 3 for Christmas and so on
Crazy to think we may get to play the beta level for Halo 2 soon on MCC !!!
Heavy Price Paid has always had this strong grip on my heart. It is just so sadly peaceful. I remember this as a kid and seeing how the brutes betrayed the elites with this playing in the back ground for the first time. Time really stopped for me right then.
"Peril".
The song from Delta Halo.
I could listen to this track for hours
We're getting older gentlemen..
Here's to you. Good luck out there and hold your head up like Chief.
High Charity still gives me goosebumps. That freaking sound and the vocals over it ahhh
I am only 11 but I connect with this song because I played halo since 2016 to 2019
Not long but still is a big part of my childhood so far
Not long but it did take up most of my gaming experience of my childhood so far
One of the best ingame soundtrack of all time. Chills every time I'm listening to it. Thx Bungie
I love how the og halo 2 soundtrack is subtle and builds up, the anniversary version is too bombastic.
Thank you for this
Mjolnir Mix is just straight-up fire. I vibe so hard to it every time.
Unforgotten might be one of the songs ever
I don't have any prior knowledge of Halo, I just know that it's a great soundtrack to study too.
great quality, thanks man
Halo 2 has the best soundtrack out of the whole series & you can’t change my mind.
BEST FUCKING SOUNDTRACK OF ALL THE TIME IN HALO UNIVERSE
Absolute masterpiece of a soundtrack
Mombasa Suite is a instant classic! *Chefs kiss*
I suggest getting The Art of Halo, it’s an old book but it’ll bring back memories you long forgot.
we made it boys keep striving forward because there will be a blessing and when we once get that blessing dont let it go
*Crack*
*siiiiip*
Halo 2
*sip*
Now that was a game
Mombasa Suite ... FUCK!!! HOW MUCH I LOVED THAT in the game with the Hunters in mission 2... God! Halo must be played in Legendary or nothing!!!
Did u know on Outskirts there's a secret Energy Sword?
The best memory of my pre 2007 days will always be the release of halo 2. It changed me from rts to first person shooters for good xD
I was born in 2004
I played with the first generation Xbox console, I remember one of my first games played was Kung Fu Chaos back when i was just a toddler
Jump forward into the early 2010's, my brothers and I were able to get the Xbox 360, an iconic, awesome console that I still have with me (and still use, primarily to play BO2) to this day.
