You are in the good old days right now. Some day you will remember fondly of some experiences you had right now. So enjoy every moment and consciously think about the present.
I haven't sat down for a proper game of Skyrim in a very long time, the last time i consistently played was in lockdown. even then, i know i can boot the game up right now and get lost for the rest of the evening you know what, i think im gonna do that
I still remember it. I got as far as whiterun, barely spent 15 minutes there and got sent to riften. Queue hours of random adventure. Spending an age kiteing a giant, wandering into rivers trying to find a shortcut, I cut through a mountain pass thinking I found a secret passage past the mountain blocking me, but got killed by a chaurus. Stumbled on an orc stronghold, they wouldn't let me in. Can't replicate that organic gameplay again.
YE, I remember getting out of helgen and then we got to the bridge and I was so confused where tf am I supposed to go, so I wandered around eventually stumbling upon Riverwood and going to the shop and having my first mission.
Ah yes, when I continued my time-honored tradition of how I start every Elder Scrolls game, wherein after I'm given my freedom I just pick a direction and book it. I ended up being chased by a bear at one point, and tried to climb a mountain to get away from it. The bear chased me up the mountain and I made it to a weird structure, then a scary black floaty thing popped out of a box and scared the sh*t out of me and then wrecked me. Found out much later it was a dragon priest and I'd ended up running all the way to Haafingar.
Played the game like 12 years ago.. I was 17 yrs old.. And now am goin 30 in july.. laying next to my wife whom asked me to play calm music And i came here, she fell asleep in seconds She isnt a gamer, she doesnt even know much about video games or ever heard of skyrim But listening to this took me 10 years back.. when i was just a kid with no responsibilities I read alot of the lovely comments here And am so proud being part of this community.. Greetings from Iraq.🎉❤
Funny you should say that, I like to have music to work to and my misses is very sick currently, so I wanted something calming and relaxing so as not to disturb her while she rests. Skyrim to the rescue.
Personally, this music will forever remind me of a time where life was simpler, exciting and when the future still held tons of potential that made you wonder what would happen next.
My dad used to play this game all the time for years before he passed away. Every time I hear the ambience in the first 10 mintues, it reminds of of all the late nights where I would be going to bed and he would still be up playing, looking for alchemy ingredients, or the early mornings where I would wake up at 5 am to him being being screamed at by a dragon. I'm missing those days now. Brings tears to my eyes.
@@PriestessOfSlaanesh lol troll, no normal person clicks on a video pertaining to a game they hate and then proceeds to scroll into the comment section under normal circumstances. Can't bring myself to understand why some people desire conflict constantly. Anyway you won't be getting any more replies from me as I know your intentions. To anyone else who reads this: if you didn't know already, trolls just want to argue and the best way to stop them is to stop replying as they are not actually arguements but "Trolling" ..... so yea consider yourself called out or something idk lol, guess I was bored too
I always abused fast travel when I was younger but now I’ve realised that taking time travelling the roads and experiencing all the sights, sounds, ambience and encounters on the journey is really what makes the game shine.
The journey I made on foot or horseback, from Whiterun to Riften, the quests I did, fights I got into, dungeons I cleared, over the course of several hours, shall always and forever remain one of my fondest gaming memories. I felt like a legit Adventurer on a Quest. It was fantastic, even unmodded.
My enjoyment of the game quadrupled once I stopped fast traveling. It really does the game such an injustice fast traveling everywhere, and then suddenly this map feels empty and small while in reality it isn't.
Totally agree, I used to just power level and skip a lot of dialogues, now I sometimes like playing vanilla Skyrim while taking everything incredibly slow and absorbing every little detail of the world, it's so immersive .
@G Jacques my man, I did not get triggered I'm just asking because I'm genuinely curious about your way of thinking, even tho you re just trying to shame and are self liking your comments, all I want to know is why you said what you said.
This very mix here helped me get through therapy for PTSD from domestic violence. My therapist asked to establish a safe place to mentally retreat to while I was processing the memory, but the one I made up in my head wasn't working. Then I had an idea. I used to use the Skyrim OST for studying because I had such positive feelings associated with my time playing the game, so why not use it here? It worked extremely well. Thanks Everness, thanks Todd Howard and thanks to everyone who was involved with making this game.
I am so sorry to hear you've gone through such torment. My words may not mean a lot to you, but I want you to know that you will heal, no matter how hard it is to work through. Maybe some days you will be weak--maybe even most days. But you will have your strong days. Always fight for those strong days. I too have gone through traumatic situations, though not DV, so I'm being transparent. Regardless, this mix has also helped me overcome grief and trauma with each listen. There is just something so uniquely beautiful and soulful about Skyrim and its music. If there's one thing to love about Skyrim, it's the fact that it brings us together, no matter our circumstances. I wish you all the love and luck in the world. Thank you for sharing.
We all played skyrim for at least 500 hours. We heard these songs for at least 1000 times, but still we come back to this video to hear it even when we're not playing :')
I'm really proud of that, I'll still someday experience that feeling again, I really wish it... Maybe even with my son, Show him the best things i had in life so he can feel the same pride in the future.
An old friend passed away some days ago. He couldn't support life. And this Skyrim soundtrack help me to feel good, to hold his memory and to breathe :) Even in the worst moments, life is precious and this game was my cure while I was not confident as young man. Thanks.
My math teacher plays skyrim ambience whenever we take tests and quizzes. despite me being horrible at math, the only reason i liked the class was because of her, and her amazing taste in video games. i was so happy when she first started playing it in september. i seriously need to thank her before the year ends.
these mixes are literally what got me through my entire 5-year doctoral program. now finishing up the last touches on my dissertation with this playing in the background :)
@@wythore fk yeah. I started the Dark Brotherhood questline last time I was playing Skyrim while shrooming, it was sick. I know they're just a bunch of pixels and data, but with those brutal animations, killing NPCs felt like actual murder lol
It's odd, but I still have yet to find an open world video game that makes me so at peace like Skyrim did. It was such an incredibly immersive experience.
*_What It's Like To Be In Skyrim Cities During The Day_* *Whiterun:* Fresh air. Cobbled roads worn by the feet of old friends. Dogs barking and children laughing. The murmur of the marketplace. Puffy white clouds skating across the sky, overhead the thick stone walls that keep us safe. Clanking and grating sounds from Eorlund up at Jorrvaskr's Skyforge. Flowers & shrubbery brushing against the warm wooden walls of homes & shops. Idle chattering of the guards. The Companions yelling and laughing as they train to fight for us. This is home. - *Solitude:* Deep breaths. The clanging of palace bells. The bargaining shouts of merchants. Footsteps, both hurried and relaxed, tap-tap-tapping across the streets. Wooden doors open and shut from houses and shops as the citizens get ready for the day. Children burst out of their homes, giggling uncontrollably. The sound of lutes from the Bards College. The sea splashing in the distance, quiet but audible. Salty scents wafting through the docks. Tall, gorgeous towers and elegant architecture stretching high into the pale blue sky above, reminding us that we are more than we appear. This is home. - *Windhelm:* Snow crunching under boots of the wealthy and bare feet of the poor. The somber hum of the tavern, drums booming inside. Angry shouts of Nords & Dunmer. Rickety wooden doors creaking from inside the Gray Quarter. Looming boats bobbing in the frigid sea outside. Soft laughter from the old married couples of wealthy families. Argonians growling to themselves among the thumps and clanks of the docks. Blue flags whipping in the icy wind, over our heads as we silently live our lives. This is home. - *Markarth:* Tall grass blowing in the wind. Unlucky beggars muttering about the gods. Boots thunking on the uneven stone steps. The exhausted clunking of pickaxes down at the mines. Water burbling underneath the creaky wooden bridges. Guards scoffing at the citizens. The near-silence of the tavern, interrupted by the occasional bar fight. Golden Dwemer-designed doors scraping against the stone walls. The air is clean, but tinged with smoke and fear. Steam and metal clicking noises echoing from inside the palace. Guard dogs snarl out by the stables. Children walk close to their parents, proof that we must fight back against the rules binding us. This is home. - *Riften:* The smell of wood burning hanging in the air. Autumn leaves crunching underfoot. Unnerving noises echoing from the sewers. The hesitant clinking of septims in the marketplace. The scent of salt and fish wafting in from the fishery. Rugs being hung outside and beaten, filling the air around them with dust. Sly voices intertwining with defensive ones arguing over prices. Mead bottles, empty and full, roll across the bumpy cobblestones. The blacksmith grunting as he wipes the sweat from his brow. Fabrics swishing over the streets as wealthy crime families stride along them, untouched by their conscience. Water in the sewers below churning, much like the suspicion within us that we try to fight. This is home. - *Falkreath:* Dirt roads scuffing against worn shoes. The feel of cold gravestones. Sunshine inappropriately warming the buildings. Bleak sighing from both guards and citizens. Dogs barking being hastily hushed. Tiny purple flowers are quiescent, nestled in the browning grass. Wind moaning through the streets, buffeting the wooden signs hanging on houses. Long, torn purple banners flapping dejectedly, mirroring our struggle to stay positive. This is home. - *Winterhold:* Wind shrieking above the small buildings below. Guards plodding up and down the snowy street, refusing to go near the College. Watchful eyes of magic users burning into the backs of citizens. Shop owners smiling despite their monetary struggles. The sea roaring beyond, forever scarring the people. Inviting music floats out from the tavern, providing solace in this desolate place. Light spirals up from the College, an attempt to feel pride in our city once again. This is home. - *Morthal:* Croaks of creatures in the marshes travelling in the wind. Cool air drifting in from the waters. Spots of snow spraying into the air as merchants and citizens walk by. Hushed rumours passing from person to person. Weak sunlight breaking the dark pine trees. Quiet warnings to children about behaving, or the vampires will come. Footsteps quickening as they pass the wizard's home. Guards sympathetically trying to reassure the uneasy citizens about the Jarl, even though we want to take charge of our troubles alone. This is home. - *Dawnstar:* Miners whistling as they lug materials around. Wooden carts rolling and bumping along, full of ore and tools. Tired gazes following each other. Children laughing in the face of hardship. The tavern crooning with music and warmth long into the night. Grey clouds diluting the sun as the day wears on. Boats and fishing lines wobbling in the water. Mutterings of rival miners making their way across town. Insecure faith in the gods wavering, as we try to cope with our nightmares. This is home.
Boy howdy. It turns out, I wasn't supposed to BE the Dragon Born, I was supposed to be an antique-collecting tourist mountain goat. -- Who talks to dragons.
The music is so perfect to wandering in Skyrim, that sometimes it leaks out. I can see pictures of mountains and castles and whatnot online, and I hear the music in the back of my mind. I had it running on an old laptop and modded it as much as I could with environment, weather, and ENB mods.Heh... It turned out so beautiful that I lost interest in completing any of the quests, I just wanted to wander around and marvel at the beauty [tourist]. Of course, I get set upon by bandits, etc., and I loot the bodies, but I have so much gold that I don't bother selling anything, I just take it to my house and dump it [antique collector].And between my impatience with getting to high places to survey the domain, and my lack of following roads in general, I find myself going up the sides of mountains by jumping instead of taking time to find the road that leads there [mountain goat].But I haven't played it in years... not enough horsepower in the old laptop. You know you have played too much Skyrim when you drive down the road and see flowers and you wonder if you should gather them for alchemy, or you watch a movie and when someone gets killed you think "aren't they going to loot the bodies!?"
it's calming and peaceful, exactly what you want...until a saber cat or bear see's you and you have to kill it, which ruins the atmosphere but i get what you're saying the music and sounds in this game are fantastic
Skyrim is more of a home and state of mind then just "video game".I am playing Skyrim on and off for almost 9 years and i am probably not the only one.

I was here to study, now I'm crying. Memories and memories are coming back from the time where I was thinking about this game at school all day long, waiting to be home to finally dive back in my adventure. I'm so grateful I lived the experience of this game and will forever be
when there no other problem to worried about playing game enjoying the environment ..... bring back good memories that bring tears of joy and goosebumps
I had no idea how much Skyrim meant to many people. I'm older than most people commenting here but I still listen to the soundtrack music. "Tundra" (1:36:25) sometimes plays for hours when I'm working at home. It always provides a calming focus to what I'm doing. But I must admit that I also get a bit wistful for my own distant memories.
This feels so surreal. I remember the days when I was a teen, playing Skyrim every day after school. For me this game is more than just a game, it's a story and a living world that helped me to grow up and find confidence in myself, create a dream. Traveling across Tamriel, listening to this music, I remember how incredible it felt and how I wanted to do something alike in the real world. Nowadays, I'm a journalist and a writer. I travel a lot and often go to beautiful places such as snowy mountains and green woods. Every time I do that, I think of Skyrim. I think of this music. And I feel happiness (maybe with a bit of sadness). This one says thank you to everyone from the TES community and to the creator of this mix. May the Moons guide you, friend.
I would recommend you start playing Warhammer, D&D or the likes. The memories you make while playing a a good long lasting campaign are really life like, especially after something like Skyrim left a mark on you
exactly the same. im a adult now and remembering the times as a teen playing this game. for me its also more than a game, its a place where i belong to, for ever
I’d love to just forget everything about Skyrim, then re-experience it completely blind, but it’s simply impossible to forget. You’ll eventually feel the urge to start up a game again. It’s almost like a curse to have such a perfect, fun, adventurous, calming, and grand experience, but only get to truly experience it once.
This takes me back man..... 9 years ago. A different place, a different time. I was a kid still fumbling my way through growing up. Now I'm a man and all i want to do i go back, just one more time.
I still remember visiting my family in New York for Christmas and seeing my older cousin playing this game on his PS3 setup in his unfinished basement in 2011. I was 11 at the time, and the game looked truly magical, he had just unlocked the wabbajack and was fighting some bandits with it. I was instantly hooked and got the game as soon as I came home, and I still play today. We don't talk anymore after a bit of a falling out between him and the rest of the family outside of my control, but I still think back to that day fondly. Little does he know the impact that he made on my life that night. I hope he's doing well, and I hope he's still playing Skyrim.
Sorry you both parted ways, family is complicated. I used to play it all the time with my older cousin. I always looked up to him. So whenever he came around or I went his we always played Skyrim. We would be up all day/night playing. I showed him how to that glitch to get the chests underneath whiterun 😂 good old times
@@jaxtherippah970 Love that lol. I had looked up to him too until I got old enough to understand the decisions he was making in life. We were very close growing up though. I invited him to my wedding, would be nice to rekindle something there between the two of us if he comes.
Well no childhood memories for me from this. I was 46 yrs old when Skyrim released LOL.. and all this music still sticks with me now 11 yrs later and retired. I can't even imagine having this experience as a child or young man.. that must have been amazing.. but I am just happy to have had this at any age.
Even if you didn’t play it when you were younger it’s still an experience we all share and love. Tho I will admit playing it when I was 12 was definitely the best game I have ever played so far in my life. I’m only 23 but it’s still part of my life.
Your age is no mark. You just like everyone here chose a side in the war, saved nirn from alduin, defeated Mirrak, stopped or joined the vampire threat and possibly have a family and home. You could be 50 or 5 and you'd still experience something that changes life. Well done man and hope your well.
I'm crying, i remember playing skyrim for the first time when i was 14. It's insane how much this music brings back memories of when i was genuinely happy with my life. Skyrim isn't just a game, it's an adventure that i always some how, some way Find myself getting drawn back into. Skyrim is timeless and always will be my favorite adventure.
skyrim is the peak of our lives really. and today, the world is fucked no matter wherever you are or how rich you are. people don't put their love and soul into anything they do anymore so we get fake game worlds, fake conversations, fake instagram happiness, fake lives... I wanna go back...
This game was the reason why i united with a few friends, sadly one passed away not too long ago. A year later one of his best friends gave me an xbox, it had a note and said "here's a present, bitch." We would always joke around about that. Turned on the xbox and he had his house he was working on, just as i remember. If i were only to see him again... Miss you Alex.
@STUDENT-NICHOLAS GALVAN oh don't worry about me, i am dong better now but it feels weird having his xbox in my house, even when i glare at it i can't stop thinking about him. Hope he is having the time of his life up in sovngarde
May your friend Rest In Peace. I haven’t actually played Skyrim but I might purchase it because many people say that it’s superb. Do you recommend I buy the game?
This may sound cheesy but what gets me about this is that the music wasn’t just a theme to a game. It was a theme associated with a particular point in my life. This music not only transports me back into a world that captivated my imagination but it also takes me back to younger days when me and my wife first met, still young enough to essentially have 0 responsibilities and how we would just close the curtains, buy some munch from the local shop and just take it in turns watching each other explore Tamriel for hours and days on end. Makes me smile every time. 😊
I cannot stress enough how much this game means to me. It was a truly magical experience that made you feel as if you were actually living the life of your character. And the music just brings back soo many memories, almost brings a tear to my eye.
this game taught the importance of a silent protagonist. it allows you to immerse yourself completely into the world of skyrim. Modern RPGs dont have this these days, i cant immerse myself into geralt or Aloy and feel like i am exploring a new world. because i get constantly reminded that it is not me, but someone else there. Its a shame that protagonists get personalities these days. I love the blank canvas of a character that skyrim gives u, you make the protagonist yourself!.
"Hey you, you're finally awake"... The best thing about going through these playlists is realising how often you have heard each song whilst just exploring :)
this music brings me back to the best years of my life, hanging with my friends, and all playing skyrim in the same house with like 20 TVS. i miss these days, as i barely see those friends anymore, and some have even passed away. this music really just brings me back.
I still remember when I first emerged from the Helgen caves. The music change, the noise, the light. Running down that road to Riverwood was, dare I say, life changing? I had never, in all my years experienced such a gaming moment and likely never again will. This game will forever be one of my favourites.
How about going to whiterun for the first time and than high hrothgar? That sequence of Act 1 quests is by far the most captivating and immersed I’ve ever been in a video game
And here's the full updated list of the locations, as well as memory serves. Corrections welcome if you notice any! 0:02 - Probably a few steps north of Evergreen Grove. 1:35 - Next to Ustengrav. Only place in the marsh with this view to Solitude. 2:42 - A mysterious location in the Rift, with a view over to the Throat. Best guess would be next to Heartwood Mill. 4:10 - Wow this is obscure. Based on vegetation, I'd say around Embershard Mine, close to Riverwood. 5:05 - Windhelm docks. I hear they don't treat the Argonians right. 7:00 - Peak's Shade Tower, 100%. On the road east from Falkreath. 8:30 - I'd say this is the orc stronghold in the southwest of the Reach, Dushhikh Yal, or something. 10:12 - A pretty bridge in the Rift, next to Broken Helm Hollow. Rumor has it there's some awfully good lumber trades going around there. 11:30 - Sitting atop the Warmaiden's, Adrianne's shop in Whiterun. 13:50 - A good view over the main thoroughfare of Riverwood. Embry, in the distance, is on the lookout for a fresh drink. 14:40 - Riften marketplace. Did you know you can drop Madesi's ring and not have to put Brand-shei out of business? 16:15 - Winterhold and its eponymous college. I hope you've mastered the expert destruction spells. 18:10 - A peaceful stroll in Falkreath. I can hear Siddgeir munching on succulent meat in the longhouse on the left. 20:00 - Vokun hovering about in High Gate Ruins, ready to fireball your face. And all Anska wanted was a simple scroll. 22:00 - Blackreach, quite close to the entrance from Alftand. 22:50 - The bridge to Windhelm. Do you have any idea how dull horses are? 24:25 - And then we head into Windhelm. Hjerim, a potential home (needs a bit of cleanup), on the left. 25:30 - The stairs up to Hillgrund's Tomb, on the road from Whiterun to Ivarstead. Spotted some good game along the way. 27:00 - And this should be High Gate Ruins from the outside. Took me ages to remember. 29:00 - The plains outside Whiterun. 32:30 - Okay you got me. Best guess, near Riverwood, some way east. Hell if I know. 35:10 - Somewhere on the hills near Cragslane Cavern. I think that's the Bonestrewn Crest over in the distance. 36:20 - The Ritual Stone. The necromancer up there s just asking for it. 39:00 - Is this the entrance to Ragnvald? 40:45 - Could be the waterfalls just south of Robber's Gorge. 42:40 - Angarvunde. There's an unfortunate prize waiting for a greedy heart. 44:40 - The view over to Dragonbridge from the south. 46:15 - I'll hazard this is inside Gloombound Mine. Great place for mining ebony, if the orcs don't get you first. 47:19 - Fort Amol Prison. Typically overrun with conjurers and the like - which, in turn, are overrun by you. 48:35 - The main road of Riverwood. With all decent folk off to bed, only the chicken patrols. 50:38 - Solitude, with a view over to the Blue Palace and the Bards College up ahead. 51:44 - Solitude again, high on the ramparts of Castle Dour. A different, bird's eye view of the Blue Palace in the distance. 53:16 - Can't figure out the landmarks; my best guess would be somewhere between Riverwood and Falkreath. 55:02 - On the north glaciers near Hob's Fall Cave. A lone spire of Alftand puncturing through the ice over there. 56:12 - Shroud Hearth Barrow. The bridge to the left of the wall is broken; a shout can carry you across for treasure. 57:53 - I believe this is also Shroud Hearth Barrow, near the entrance where the ghostly Wyndelius recommends you leave this place. Hey, it's just a fabrication. 59:15 - A nightly view over Dragonsreach in Whiterun. 1:01:08 - Reach Imperial Camp, just south of Bthardamz, a vast dwemer ruin. 1:03:28 - The great Shrine of Azura. Your coming was foretold. 1:04:30 - Mara's Eye Pond. The mudcrabs on the islet are fierce guardians to a macabre secret beneath. 1:06:50 - A Dragon Mound, likely north of the pass towards Falkreath, near Half-moon Mill. 1:08:03 - A relaxing bath in the geysers around the Atronach Stone. 1:10:15 - Sleeping Giant Inn, Riverwood. Delphine sweeping away, and nope, Orgnar ain't got potatos in his ears. 1:11:42 - The Bannered Mare, Whiterun. Mikael keeping the folk entertained, as befits a bard of his talent. 1:14:04 - Jorrvaskr, Whiterun. Aela and Farkas engaged in a staring contest across the table. 1:15:30 - Mistveil Keep, Riften. The Jarl's throne sits empty (probably best so), while Wylandriah rummages about, probably having misplaced something. 1:16:06 - Standing upon the walls of Jorrvaskr, overlooking the Wind District. 1:17:38 - Solitude Harbor, lollygagging outside the Red Wave, an infamous pirate vessel. 1:18:55 - A glorious view over Markarth and Understone Keep. 1:19:52 - The White River, just west of Riverwood. The salmon are jumping upstream, no doubt on their way to the Guardian Stones. 1:21:38 - A part of the external ruins outside Snow Veil Sanctum, on the forbidding wastes far north above Windhelm. 1:23:20 - This is in Alftand, the Animonculory section. All kinds of glittering treasure on the sides - if your fingers are nimble enough. 1:24:26 - I would believe this is Mzinchaleft, due to the warmer hues of the place. Southwest of Dawnstar, and filled with all manner of vagrants. 1:25:45 - On the beach outside Hela's Folly, northeast of Dawnstar. There's an argonian, Deekus, minding his business and the pickings of the wreck. 1:30:25 - The moons, Masser and Secunda. Seen from where, beats the crap out of me. Would presume high up north since the air is very clear. 1:32:37 - Brittleshin Pass! Damn this one took me forever. A great shortcut from the plains of Whiterun back to Lake Ilinata. 1:34:42 - Blackreach. The place is immense. There's also a chance for a Dragonborn to awaken a slumbering beast. 1:36:40 - Mixwater Mill. Tucked on the side of a sightly road south of Windhelm. 1:40:35 - Just outside of the Helgen Cave, on the road north towards the Guardian Stones. Bleak Falls Barrow looming in the distance. 1:43:00 - On the banks of the river looking up towards Lost Valley Redoubt. Some nasty rituals going on up there. 1:44:43 - Dragonsreach, in the great hall. Jarl Balgruuf in his ubiquitous, lordly pose upon the throne. 1:46:14 - Candlehearth Hall, upstairs. Arivanya sitting up front with a mug of ale, no doubt brooding over the unimaginable boredom of horses. 1:48:22 - The Winking Skeever, the prime tavern in Solitude. Despite the name, Corpulus keeps a clean inn. 1:49:35 - The Silver-Blood Inn. The enterprise is likely the only thing keeping the owners Kleppr and Frabbi together. 1:50:52 - A sight not meant for mortal eyes; this is Sovngarde, the Hall of Shor, guarded by Tsun the Mighty. 1:52:27 - Another shot from the Hall of Shor, where the heroes both old and new revel in the timeless stories of their adventures in life. 1:54:06 - The Hall of the Dead in Whiterun. Andurs, the local priest, has misplaced his amulet in the tomb. There's also a book, Death blow of Abernanit, in the leftmost room. 1:55:18 - I confess, this has me oddly stumped. My best guess is Dustman's Cairn, but if you know better, let me know. 1:56:50 - Anga's Mill, upriver west of Windhelm. What we're witnessing here is the camp of Ennodius Papius, an emaciated beggar. 1:59:20 - The courtyard of Castle Dour in Solitude. 2:01:32 - On the seven thousands steps -pilgrimage up to High Hrothgar. Ohhh my gosh. The last time I played Skyrim was when I was pregnant with my first daughter, chilling out waiting for her to arrive while she kicked the controller when I rested it on my bump. Then after she was born I learned how to hold her so i could play while she nursed and napped in my arms. Now I'm pregnant again with her sister and I think I may have to return to Skyrim and see what I was up to.
@@ronjohnson8881 Baby is doing great! Arrived safely and is growing into a very happy little baby. Skyrim has been fun to dip back into, created a new character to explore the old haunts. Making it bearable to stay home and keep away from covid, thanks for asking :)
I am 34 and this game really brings me back to a better time. What an absolute masterpiece. These comments are a testament that this game is one of the greats.
Sometimes, I forget how much of a good game Skyrim was. Even today, it's still a wonderful masterpiece that will always be in our hearts. So many hours spent in the game, and I still feel a sense of childhood wonder exploring in the lands of Skyrim. What a wonderful game, thank you for bringing this to us.
I've listened to this soundtrack for thousands of hours. Playing the game was just a fraction of it. I listened every day while I read, study, or walk. The soundtrack is warmth
Listening to this while travelling around the south island of New Zealand. I stopped at Kowhai Point, put on my headphones, stood by the flowing river surrounded by huge mountains disappearing into the clouds while that majestic music played. It was an incredible moment. Now I am getting lunch at a tavern with a log fireplace and playing the Skyrim tavern music. Life is good.
Everytime I see and listen to this I sit in deep thought about how I'll never be able to feel as whole as I did on a late dark night of exploration through this absolute masterpiece. Skyrim was more than just a video game, it really felt like it ment something to me and others. Unfortunately now with age that feeling is gone, although time is fleeting, memories last forever 😢
Hey. I'm 49. When Skyrim came out, my son and I played in the same room on our gaming laptops and we've put so many memories into this and countless other games together. He's almost 28 now and lives quite a few states away from me (usa) but we still chat about the games we're playing and, when possible, get into servers to play together for a couple hours. I just finished Death Stranding and, tho it's taken over as #1 for me, I think it's more fair to say both Skyrim and Death Stranding hold my #1 slot. I can't see any future games knocking either 2 out of my #1 slot. Maybe a real close #2 but that's as close as they'll get.
Your never to old for skyrim, and it's a wonderful world , playing skyrim got me through some pretty tough times, you can literally play it for hours without really achieving anything. That's the beauty of tamriel, you can escape into this magical world and just forget about the real world. I think as you get older it's the lack of time that gets in the way. It was proven to relieve stress and help with mental problems. Skyrim is just a masterpiece of sheer genius . All who play have there reasons for loving this game. I used to love playing it on really rainy days under a blanket all snug, cuppa tea and just me , my character on my own adventures. Comment below and share what makes it special for you 😃
My father in law is in his late sixties and he absolutely loves Skyrim. Eben bought a second playstation and game, so he'd be able to play it in their vacation home. My husband is a total fan himself. Me, I'm more of a WoW player, have been playing it now for over eighteen years. Never stop playing, because someone says "You're too old for this!" They're probably just jealous.

This comment sections is so wholsome omg I love it, I just came here to listen to some musical nostalgia not knowing that I would stumble across some relatable and awesome people in the skyrim community. It really is crazy how many people this game impacted!
I just gotta say I'm 40 years old with a family and kids, this just brings back flash backs of when my life was simple and no worries. This game was my escape from reality. By far the best game with stunning landscapes. This music makes me want to break out the old Xbox 360.
why not break it out? Teach the kids about skyrim! Being an adult doesn't mean you cant play video games anymore, it just means you cant play it for 16 hours a day haha
I saw a Christian write an article once about how he genuinely believed playing Skyrim was giving him a glimpse of heaven. I hope that when I die I can disappear into a Skryim dream. It's stunning to me a video game can pack this much of a psychological punch.
I'm a Christian and honestly I could've written that article myself. The New Earth the bible talks about will be absolutely incredible! All praise to Christ for laying before us the choice to be reconciled with God and his beautiful plan for us!
*a thing for VR players* Try muting the music and enjoy the sky, pretend you're siting on a rock in game and sit on a couch (sleept an hour and got woken up by a dragon and DumbSleepyBrain-me though i was really in the game, luckily did'nt break anything...)
:') i used to wake up at 3-4 in the morning because I felt like playing Skyrim. I still can't explain the kind of pull this game had on me. Have fun :)
For me the classic Stealth Archer is the most fun. Then a try a one or two handed tank, they're pretty fun. Out of all the times I've played it, I've never got on with being a mage but I've seen UA-cam videos of mage builds and they look crazy fun if you get it right.
Crazy to me that when skyrim came out i was a junior in high school. Now I'm pushing 30 still occasionally playing this masterpiece. Listening to the music makes me tear up thinking back to the first time I loaded it up. I'm excited to what they have to offer next even if it's still years away...
Heard this while learning for my finals, after them I went to the store and bought Skyrim to go through this beautiful world one more time. It was a trip of nostalgia, I met my old friends and defeated Alduin one more time.
During gameplay a lot of these songs blended together in my head, but now that I'm listening to them outside of the game, it's incredible how many of them I can remember so vividly. This is really music that serves its purpose well.
One of the greatest games of all time. I remember growing up watching my dad play this game for hours. We connected over the shared experience of finding new places, completing quests, and talking about what or where we would go next. God I miss those days. This game will always have a special place in my heart. Love ya dad.
@@samuelflint7256 I watched my husband play when it came out and again when he got it for PS5. And I've played the music and atmospheres to work or calm myself or on walks since then. I used to enjoy hearing a piece and knowing where in the game he would be, like in the dungeons, or exploring outside, or in a tavern. Literal years, and it still does to me what it always has. The ambient sounds... I swear it is pure magic.
Kinda want to freeze my body until some future technology comes out that allows you to actually be in the game. You already know that Bethesda is going to have Skyrim remastered, 20k, live action, cross over, refrigerator edition by then
This game was a testament in time that showed that sometimes we don't notice when you will have your last boss fight, the last spell your character learns, and the last time you remember the game, when it was just a game not a faint memory of better times. simpler times when life was easier when a game was for fun not just to play something.
It's funny but I know that everyone who has watched this video feels exactly the same thing as me. As if we all have the same memories together, the same longing for this virtual world. I consider you all my friends, even though I've never met you.
"peace" lmao. Skyrim's cool but I'd rather deal with a world that has the flu and a recession rather than one with a civil war, magical elves that will feed me to demons if I worship a god they don't like, and fucking dragons.
@@cubalibreball3809 Skyrim, like any video game, has rules. In skyrim there are demons, but so there are gods. In Skyrim, and other TES games, people don't die forever, they are transcended to an afterlife. Every problem in TES has a way to be solved, even if it is one that requires a lot of challenge. In the real world, however, there aren't any rules. You could live a healthy life as much as you want, and you'd die eventually from unlucky circumstances with no afterlife and no gods whatsoever. You could be the smartest you could be, and you would still not be as successful as some other people are, just because you weren't handed the right place and right time to accomplish the same. Real life is a set of randomness, while Skyrim and other videogames are a set of RULES. I would rather live in a world with rules, than in a world of randomness.
To anybody who's reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind. May clarity replace confusion. May peace and calmness fill your life. 🙏
Thanks, this game and the ost are once in a life time. We are fortunate to have experienced it. Skyrim was always my escape from reality. I have never immersed myself in a game so much and I doubt I ever will again.
You can never forget something amazing as you first play through Skyrim. Hearing the music, the funny jokes, discovering new places, interacting with characters and investing in their stories, collecting every shiny item you came around, going into a tavern to see your favorite ally and follower, and finally modding the hell out of it to make it as real as possible or as jiggly as possible if anyone catches my drift. You can never forget the feeling, NEVER
As shallow and clunky Skyrim is with some of it's elements when comparing to it's prequels or other games, one thing they absolutely nailed is the world and the atmosphere of sandbox exploration. In Divinity OS2 OST there is a track "Your tale awaits you down the road" and that is exactly how Skyrim feels. Even for a 1000th time, even if you know that the cave will look the same as all the others and have no relevant loot, the world captivates you enough that you want to stay in it. While combat and many of the quest are not that fun, what is fun though is just being in Skyrim. To take a trip through the hot spring marshes and into forests. To see the 3 merry drunks on a road. To reach the Word Wall on a mountain peak amidst a blizzard, use Clear Skies and look at the aurora.
I may scream at Lydia to get out of my way so I don't blow her eardrums out with a shout while I'm being attacked but it remains one of my favorite games

Every time I listen to the music of Skyrim, I travel, I travel in my memories, I am immersed in a happy mood, I remember wandering in the forests of Tamriel, getting lost in the Dwemer ruins. I loved the Soul Cairn. listening to this music plunges me back into these warm and comforting memories. One thing is certain, when my children will ask what is the most beautiful memory of my teenage years, I will present skyrim to them. Skyrim is a religion, a world, where even if we don't know each other, we form a great community united around our world, our skyrim. This game is everything, he was here when we felt alone in our bedroom. Only our community can understand this feeling. Sorry for the mistakes I am French. Take care of yourself❤️
Reading everyone's comments and reactions to this, feeling my own emotions and nostalgia from the days and nights and weeks spent living in this game, i cannt put into words how this makes me feel, but I am so truly happy to hear this, yet sad that I can't truly live there, live in that world with a character that I put myself into. Be safe out there my fellow travelers ✊

There was nothing more magical than that first time when you set out to explore the world after Helgen.

*_What It's Like To Be In Skyrim Cities During The Day_*
*Whiterun:* Fresh air.
-
*Solitude:* Deep breaths.
-
*Windhelm:* Snow crunching under boots of the wealthy and bare feet of the poor.
-
*Markarth:* Tall grass blowing in the wind.
-
*Riften:* The smell of wood burning hanging in the air.
-
*Falkreath:* Dirt roads scuffing against worn shoes.
-
*Winterhold:* Wind shrieking above the small buildings below.
-
*Morthal:* Croaks of creatures in the marshes travelling in the wind.
-
*Dawnstar:* Miners whistling as they lug materials around.
Yeah.
Except for Dragons wanting everyone dead.

Anyone remember just walking through a forest in Skyrim and hearing that ambient music ❤❤❤❤
Boy howdy. It turns out, I wasn't supposed to BE the Dragon Born, I was supposed to be an antique-collecting tourist mountain goat. -- Who talks to dragons.
@@colfaxschuyler3675 ok???
@@colfaxschuyler3675 wow that was nice
it's calming and peaceful, exactly what you want...until a saber cat or bear see's you and you have to kill it, which ruins the atmosphere but i get what you're saying the music and sounds in this game are fantastic

Same here man 🙂
This feels so surreal.

I still remember when I first emerged from the Helgen caves. The music change, the noise, the light. Running down that road to Riverwood was, dare I say, life changing? I had never, in all my years experienced such a gaming moment and likely never again will. This game will forever be one of my favourites.
And venturing into the tunnels of Bleak Falls Burrow was so cool because you had no idea what lurked in those caves...
For me, the moment was when the music swelled as I approached Riverwood. That was the moment Skyrim grabbed me. It hasn't let go yet :)
If you've made it this far, you know there's well more than "the occasional wolf or stray" on this path.
2:04:06 - A bleak place called the Abandoned Prison, down the road east from Whiterun and past the Valtheim Towers.
2:05:01 - In the Avanchnzel Animoncultory. This was once a functioning factory for Dwemer Centurions, now a trove of exquisite loot. Just be careful what you take.
2:06:32 - Reachwind Eyrie, southwest of Markarth. A largely useless but picturesque tower.
2:08:44 - A hunter's camp opposite Sunderstone Gorge north of Falkreath. One of my favorite places for a rest.
2:11:07 - Nightgate Inn, one of the rare warm beds on the way from Dawnstar to Windhelm. There's an orc downstairs of peculiar civility.
2:15:17 - Yngol Barrow, northeast of Windhelm. If you're looking to fight in style, there's a helmet like no other stashed here.
2:16:26 - Broken Oar Grotto. The gentlefolk over in this caved-in hideaway are up to no good. And they'll drag you down with them.
2:17:40 - Uncertain of this one, but guessing Fort Sungard, the gigantic fortress up on a hill between Markarth and Whiterun.
2:19:02 - The puzzle door of Korvanjund, where the Ebony Claw will prove invaluable.
2:20:23 - Merryfair Farm, just outside of Riften. As if they don't have it hard enough, some slippery eel took Dravin's bow.
2:21:58 - The Atronach Stone, south of Bonestrewn Crest. Wonderful environment for a relaxing bath - if you don't mind the swooping dragon.
2:24:21 - Serpent's Bluff Redoubt, on the east borders of the Reach. The forsworn might not look like much, but they have an eye for a view.
2:26:00 - I believe this is Eldersblood Peak, on the peak of the mountain directly south of Morthal. The visit is worth the vista alone.
2:28:05 - North of Morthal, some way east from the wreck of the Icerunner.

How's the baby, and how is skyrim? :)
@@ronjohnson8881 Baby is doing great! Arrived safely and is growing into a very happy little baby. Skyrim has been fun to dip back into, created a new character to explore the old haunts. Making it bearable to stay home and keep away from covid, thanks for asking :)

I still to this day play the game, never speed playing it, I've been playing it for over half my life
One of the best if not the best game of all time.
got any hints or advice for someone who just started.. ?

I've listened to this soundtrack for thousands of hours. Playing the game was just a fraction of it. I listened every day while I read, study, or walk. The soundtrack is warmth
Same Same.
Life is good.
ohh dude!
That’s Awesome man!!👍
@@rileytodd227 thanks! It's an amazing place.

You so lucky
Well said. Tears steam down your face but you’re smiling.
And you only have to wait another 5 years for 6 and then another 4 or 5 for the next fallout game
