my mom passed away from cancer yesterday & I remembered she was with me on launch day in 2012 for Halo 4. Funny enough, a few months ago when she was about to leave the house for her treatment, she reached out her arm to touch the Halo 4 game which was sticking out of the shelf near the front door. Listening to this calms me and I hope to find peace in my heart.
Halo was the first game to make me really consider how much the score impacts the experience. It made me realize how a combat encounter can be basic when silent, but can be legendary with the right track. Whose skills weren't immediately increased tenfold when mjolnir remix played? Who doesn't remember halo 2 in the penultimate level when you walked into the room with grunts, elites, and two hunters and the "blow me away" instrumental started to play? A great score can take the right game from good to amazing, Skyrim, Halo, legend of Zelda, and countless others have proven this time and again. Thank you for listening to my TED talk.
Halo on xbox, main menu theme song loop A/V plug in without the video, then ps2 GTA video with(out) the audio . .fond memory, even at a young age i preferred this one simple yet complex masterpiece versus all those radios stations while driving in the car, soothing exciting, peaceful, calming, nutritional, i could go on. . nice video!
HALO got me through my divorce. My roommate and I were bored to tears until someone at work said, "hey, you need to check out this new game called: HALO." So right after work we rented (yes, rented) an Xbox from Blockbuster (who remembers those!?) and the game. This was June 2002. We ordered pizza, grabbed a case of Code Red Mountain Dew, and proceeded to play HALO from the time we got it home (about 6PM) until our work alarms went off the next morning. I got a shower, went to work, survived off energy drinks and coffee, got home, took a short nap, and my roommate and I were back on the Xbox. For the next several months we played every level - every difficulty. And then started over. When my kids were old enough, we were playing HALO 3 and ODST. I can still remember nights were my kids and I were trash talking each other during online matches. As a Marine, I was directing my kids where to set up so that we could triangulate effectively. Calling shots. Clearing corners. After a day at the beach, they looked forward to helping make dinner and then spending time seeing who was the better player with the most kills. HALO didn't run our life, but we made it a part of our lives. Fast forward some years later. My kids have all graduated and went off to become adults. My girls through college and my son in the Marines (following my footsteps). As a way for me and my son to spend time with each other - since he's stationed across the country - we both paid for the Master Chief Collection and we STILL play HALO on occasion. Still trash talking and still racking up headshots with the sniper rifle. Up in my loft, the Xbox stays plugged into the big screen TV. I haven't played her in a while since I use my laptop for the MCC. But she sleeps for now. Patiently waiting for the day my grandson is old enough to enjoy the pleasure that is HALO. Long live the Master Chief!
Wow reading all that takes hold of me honestly. Me and my dad always played split screen co-op too. I won't tell you the whole story but it was one of the best parts of my childhood
Lets be honest. You're sitting here reminiscing about your past when you were a lot younger, just a handful years shy away from being thrown into the adult life of bills, responsibility, possibly debt, and working full time, saving, and starting a family. The music transports you back some ten to fifteen years ago, exploring the memories that dwell in the deepest parts of your mind. The very feeling of nostalgia and peace consume your mind. You see yourself holding that controller staring into your TV bonding with your close friends in Halo, the endless all nighters with multiplayer yelling over the mic hurling sarcastic insults with your friends, laughing at moments you wouldn't think was possible, and saying goodnight bud, see you tomorrow evening to repeat the night. You realize you never once said to yourself back then, that all this would be gone, these all nighters with a lobby full of close friends would end. You knew at that time the only thing that mattered was spending time with those friends of yours playing your favorite game. The thought of it all ending not once existed. You spent each night you could relaxing and chilling in front of that TV of yours. For some people here lived for that moment, the outside world wasn't a place you were ready for. Your social aptitude filled with anxiety, nervousness, and shyness kept you inside your house. For inside that house, through the Xbox console you could open up and be yourself, free from being judged or looked upon. Remembering how bliss, calm, and carefree happiness those times made you feel. But now you think of it, it suddenly all came to an end didn't it? The Last Online 879 days ago meme really happened. Those days have ended, they disappeared slowly, but to you it ended suddenly you cannot locate that exact moment it ceased. The clouds unravel and you find yourself back here, in this current state of time. For just those five minutes you found peace, dreaming of those times where nothing mattered, and you hold onto those memories forever, realizing you're the last one left here, still living and making ends meet, but holding on to your favorite things such as this franchise because it gets you through your day.
Yes while the nights with lobbys of friends playing halo 3 has ended. This sound track and all its stands for lives on for eternity and shall never be forgotten. I would urge every one who had the honor to have these games to keep the disks and a console to play them close at hand but distant on a shelf. When a day comes when all seems lost, grab the disc and light off the console. It was always enough for me just to hear the lobby music. Play the campaign and all your memories will be relived if only for yourself than it is more than enough.
This has to be the most beautiful spot on thing I have ever read. It's making me cry, which leads me to believe I am experiencing some depression right now and realizing that I will never have those nights with complete strangers on my headset that I used to call my friend. I will have to go and play the old games again soon, but BRAVO that was an incredible way of putting it. like reading poetry.
Halo defined a generation, the original trilogy is a masterpiece and I consider it to be the dawn of the modern gaming renaissance. The first game to really make all aspects of it feel epic like a huge movie production. There wasn’t this “fix it later, ship it now” attitude in games. You had to claw your way to success in the industry but when you did it showed. Gaming, like many aspects of today, has become an impatient business and less of an astounding work of art. Halo set a high benchmark and that is why it will never truly die.
In this dry and bland world, hearing the Halo music makes me see color again. The memories, the emotion of the story, the fantastic characters; it all makes me feel at home again. It makes me feel TRUE joy.
2 Liter Sodas, Pizza, and an absolute hazardous amount of CAT5 cables running room to room between 8 XBOXs all connected to their own 20 inch "travel" TV (because screen sniping is for bitches) that you rolled down the street on your shitty office chair to Clint's house because his mom worked nights. You felt like a god when you owned 7 of your friends because that was all there was at the LAN house; no online play in this Dojo son. What a time to be 16 years old in 2001.
I have literally never played Halo in my life, but I saw this and was intrigued and needed some ambience for my writing project and I love this, it's amazing. Never heard the Halo scores before, but I'm digging what's here in this compilation
If you have a PC or Xbox I’d definitely give the games a shot, great story, score, characters, gameplay and if I had to recommend a game from the series based on soundtrack it would be Halo 3: ODST
Please give it a go. It's the definitive classic for a good reason. Still the richest and most immersive sci-fi universe for me. Beyond Star Wars, Star Trek, Starcraft, Titanfall. Halo reigns supreme ♥♥♥
The importance of musical strings that weave that cosmic tapestry to insulate creativity from the desolate void of isolative alienation on a world in conflict. Ambient World is a lens for the ears and hearth for the heavy heart. What is woven here offers peaceful comfort in these trying times.
It has been literal decades since I first played Halo and yet so many of the songs of the original soundtrack from CE to Reach still bring tears to my eyes. Truly it is some of the most beautiful and evocative music ever written. ❤
Seamless, timeless, elegant yet destructive physically and emotionally! Take your time Spartan, if you’re reading this, lay your helmet in the sands, unholster your weapon, open your soul and close your eyes, land on your knees and let time sink in, for it’s the only measurable construct! ❤️🫡 You are never alone! 👑
Yo, you’re the best! I do this myself on other videos. So, I’m gonna let you know I respect it. Thank you, I appreciate you. I’ll check myself, I do think some loop.
It's such an incredible breath of fresh air seeing people appreciate this music as much as I do. For how much it's defined my life - across ALL of the games - I've always sorta felt isolated in my appreciation for this music. Being reminded that others feel it as deeply as I do is such a gift. Thank you for posting this ♡
I put this on while I was trying to fall asleep last night. Man... I explored every inch of those maps to this music. This unlocked memories I didn't even know I had. I remembered the first time I ever saw Halo being played at my cousin's house. They were at the part right after you crash land on the ring, before you have the warthog, when you find the covenant outposts. I was transported back to being probably 10 years old again. Thank you for this wonderful compilation.
I love these. It brings me back to the days of old, when Johnson still have his orders to the marines… when captain Keyes piloted the pilled of autumn… when things were simple… "For us, the storm has passed... the war is over. But let us never forget those who journeyed into the howling dark and did not return. For their decision required courage beyond measure; sacrifice, and unshakable conviction that their fight... our fight, was elsewhere. As we start to rebuild, this hillside will remain barren, a memorial to heroes fallen. They ennobled all of us, and they shall not be forgotten."
I've been listening to this as I read through the halo novels and it really adds so much! It's spooky how often the hooks and choruses match the exact emotions I'm feeling
I played halo 3 after high school almost everyday with by best friend. Once we were in final days of our senior year, we both knew that we were on different paths leading into adulthood. We played one last game session we both knew it was going to be our last, but we didn’t say anything. We played for a few hours reminiscing about every time we died from laughter. We both graduated and drifted apart. I still look back fondly on those days and hope my friend is doing well. My friendship and Halo 3 has a special place in my heart.
I've been playing Halo since CE, first playing four player split screen on my 13" TV. I got Xbox Live in 2005 (for Halo 2) and have been playing it ever since. Love this collection - thank you!
Never played any Halo in my life, but I came across the OST once and found myself falling in love with almost every track. Your mix offered me long awaited piece of mind, thank you very much.
i still replay these single player epics quite regularly. probably will for the rest of my life. i remember when halo 1 came out, i was 6 or 7 and i remember non stop talking about it in school.
i cant even put to words how much the halo franchise means to me, it's impossible. And holy fuck are these visuals and ambience tracks jaw-dropping!! keep up the good work
I remember playing on my Xbox 360 playing Halo Reach on survival on a stormy day. This fine memory will never be forgotten. To be honest, I would give up everything that I've worked hard for just to live my childhood one more time. Then I can die happy knowing that my dream is fulfilled.
You have been coming out with such great fandoms back to back. I appreciate these videos so much. It helps me with my work and I love reading to these. The artwork is gorgeous. All around awesome and thank you!
It's kind of funny how little things like the thunderstorm, rain, ocean waves combined with the score bring me back the best memories of the not so good days. When the rest of my life was in the dumps the couple of games I had was Reach and ODST to help make the days a little easier to cope with. I remember saving up to buy a wifi adapter for the 360 just to be able to connect to my friends. Halo was the medium that helped me get through those rough times. Thank you for putting this together, I didn't know how much I needed this
Martian O'Donnell did a great job at the stage, congrats my man you had made a legend that has been remade more than any other soundtrack on any platform. thanks for your work as well those who worked with you, you gave us this. the means to no ends and even after twenty years of blowing things up halo is known by all and loved by everyone.
I remember when my dad used to play Halo on the old version of Xbox and I would watch him play pass my bedtime. It created memories that I'll never forget. Now I'm in my 20s and I bought the Master Chief Collection on Steam and I don't regret it. It makes me tear up when I play and it reminds me of the old times.❤
Your videos have become my favorite background music at the office. I’m not remotely a fan of video games, but I recognize the artistry. Keep up the wonderful work!
Thank you for this. I’m currently stressed and anxious about my GF’s depression and losing sleep over how worried I am for her. This has helped me calm down and sleep in such stressful times. Thank you
WELL THEN. now that I've watched this video I'm gonna go replay Halo 2 because the nostalgia is incredible. The power of Halo's soundtracks really is incredible.
All of this soundtracks just made me feel so connected to the universe, makes me feel raise my head to the stars in those lonely nights when it's only you and your thoughts. "Wake me when you need me" & "Dust and Echoes" always make me drop a tear, such amazing mix of all the soundtracks, I needed a lot, thank you
This video needs more likes, the halo music is spectacular and I think this video reflects it in an excellent way, I loved it and it has become what I listen to in the background while working.
Halo was peak 'gaming culture' for me. We all played Halo in late middle school and through early high school, during the prime time of bringing multiple consoles to someone's house, hooking them up through a LAN splitter, and playing 8-16 person local games for hours on end. Halo 3 online was my favorite online gaming experience ever, and probably the best I'll ever be at a competitive game. Then it was on to college, graduate school, marriage, work, and life, which get in the way of gaming now. But the soundtracks of Halo (and Medal of Honor/Call of Duty) will always encapsulate those great years.
People like Halo music because it is wholesome, the whole experiecne is, it's not base level it's art. It inspires you to be better, and to think more deeply about the themes. Tbh beyond gameplay or graphics that's the thing that has always drawn me back to Halo, why i've enjoyed the series for years, the THEMES of sacrifice, honour, wonder, hope, and bravery. These themes in the art style, and general tone of the game have set Halo apart from the get as much action in and as much stimulus as possible, to have a more deeper more meaningful experience.
This is pretty insane. This is some of the best, most beautiful orchestral music I've ever heard. And I could've missed it so easily... 'cause just yesterday I was searching "Calm/Chill Halo music", and honestly I was super unimpressed by most of the tracks I heard in those compilations. I never played Halo, so I just thought welp nevermind searching for Halo music again. And today I clicked on this because I was in a rush xD I was streaming, needed some quick music (don't worry it was for personal use, the stream only plays my game's audio) and I clicked on this link as it was the only "music" on my first page. And man oh man... I am in love. Thank you so much for sharing this with us and boy am I glad I clicked on this video.
Funny thing, I was actually thinking if you could make an ambience video for Halo so imagine my excitement when I saw that you uploaded this. Thank you so much!
The tracks Never Forgotten and Never Forget in Halo 2 and 3 are my absolute favorite. That was the track I listened to when I was playing Halo 2 and got a call saying my grandma died.
~Day7 Ambient World study sessions~ This is easily my favorite. Perfect mix of nostalgia and relaxation. I'll go back to exploring other videos for background noise eventually, but for now I want to stay right here. "We’ll head for the Portal. And we’ll all go home.” Master Chief
Man. The second song coming from Halo 4's opener. Haven't heard atonement in a LONG time, but this brought me back... really back to the good Ole days. I never played online halo multiplayer till 4 and that's when I met some great friends. Hearing atonement again just... dang. Thank you for the compilation, great work.
Bro when we were little Halo made us, it gave us friends, storylines that had us in tears but most importantly they gave us characters we each can related to, to be strong in difficult situations. This ambience reminds me off my old friends and community I miss them and wished I cherished our last game, the last time we said our goodbyes was the last time we'd be together
Amazing! Been a Halo Fan over a decade and several years to come. You earned a sub and like. Also, that's some pretty good graphics at 4k 60fps. Im impressed
We’re playing one of these songs (or a couple?) for our big spring band concert. I’ve never played this game, yet I also feel a sense of nostalgia whenever I hear (or play) that main theme
The comments here are absolutely delightful. It's nice to see a community that's all too often toxic come together to appreciate this gorgeous music. Nice job Ambient Worlds, keep it up.
We still stand strong. To this day Every day Good will always triumph I love you, YOU ARE WORTHY YOU ARE HERE FOR A PURPOSE YOU HAVE BEEN MOLDED DOWN TO THE VERY ATOM. MOLDED TO JUST THE PERFECT WAY YOU ARE MEANT TO BE REALIZE YOUR INNER BET SELF IS ALREADY DEEP IN YOU JUST WAITING, WAITING FOR YOU TO LEAP GO FORTH
The music is amazing and honestly motivational. Every time I sit down to study, do an assignment or even get something done that I really hate doing, listening to this makes me hate it a lot less. This is pretty much my go to video when it comes to getting something done. It just reminds me of Master Chief and his perseverance to do his duty for humanity and when I listen to this, it makes me think about what I am doing and want to do for myself and future. So, thank you for this and if you can make more halo ambience videos like this one, that would be awesome!
Absolutely beautiful! Well done! My wife and I love the LOTR ambiance music, and I wondered if there was a Halo ambiance video. I'm so grateful I looked!!
I like how you dropped a little personal note in the description on how you've been playing Halo since you were a lad. This is amazing. Your work is awesome. Hope you're enjoying HALO INFINITE.
The first game I ever played was Halo, the whole universe has made me such a huge fan. I've played all but the new one and every game I've played you are just grabbed by not only the story of this one Spartan and an A.I. but its everything behind the characters, the Music, the books that describe more of the universe and it paints a bigger picture
my mom passed away from cancer yesterday & I remembered she was with me on launch day in 2012 for Halo 4. @@SCARRIOR The track "Reverie" was released by 343i over a year before the game itself was released.

Yo, you’re the best! I do this myself on other videos. So, I’m gonna let you know I respect it.
Thank you, I appreciate you.
I’ll check myself, I do think some loop.
that piece at 6:37 is actually unforgotten from the halo 2 soundtrack. They ended up using it in the halo 3 main menu.
It's such an incredible breath of fresh air seeing people appreciate this music as much as I do. For how much it's defined my life - across ALL of the games - I've always sorta felt isolated in my appreciation for this music. Being reminded that others feel it as deeply as I do is such a gift. Thank you for posting this ♡
The music is hook of nostalgia for all the games i've played of yesteryear.
you're not alone :')
@Aubrey Jarvis Dude me too
Sound design and music is one of the most important part of a video game to me... Without them you really can't have any immersion
It brings me back to the days of old, when Johnson still have his orders to the marines… when captain Keyes piloted the pilled of autumn… when things were simple…
"For us, the storm has passed... the war is over.
Halo the first game I played that was totally different from everything else and the music still haunts me thank you Halo.
i keep coming back to this one
I've been listening to this as I read through the halo novels and it really adds so much! It's spooky how often the hooks and choruses match the exact emotions I'm feeling
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a bad composition from this channel. Keep it up!
I was a kid when the first Halo came out and been in love with the games since. Gods, the nostalgia! Thank you for this masterpiece.
These premiers hit different 🙏🏼
I've been playing Halo since CE, first playing four player split screen on my 13" TV. I got Xbox Live in 2005 (for Halo 2) and have been playing it ever since. Love this collection - thank you!
Never played any Halo in my life, but I came across the OST once and found myself falling in love with almost every track. Your mix offered me long awaited piece of mind, thank you very much.
man this in the background as i grieve about a friend that killed himself yesterday hurts alot
Sorry to read that
I'm so sorry. I send my condolences to you
Wow hes been gone for a year man it still feels fresh
i still replay these single player epics quite regularly. probably will for the rest of my life. i remember when halo 1 came out, i was 6 or 7 and i remember non stop talking about it in school.
i cant even put to words how much the halo franchise means to me, it's impossible.
And holy fuck are these visuals and ambience tracks jaw-dropping!! keep up the good work
"Peaceful Orchestral Music" there is nothing peaceful at how I bawl my eyes out at Greatest Journey or Green and Blue.
My pleasure!
Thank you for putting this together, I didn't know how much I needed this
Its Beautiful
Martian O'Donnell did a great job at the stage, congrats my man you had made a legend that has been remade more than any other soundtrack on any platform. thanks for your work as well those who worked with you, you gave us this. the means to no ends and even after twenty years of blowing things up halo is known by all and loved by everyone.
Dude, did you just open with Never Forget!? 😱 That's my favorite! So beautiful! Thank you!
Music for, quite literally, any situation, mood or need. Love this channel. Many heartfelt thanks!
Thank you
I am 42 years old. Halo was my college game. Listening to this brings serious nostalgia and makes me crave playing through it again.
You know what’s crazy, last week I was literally trying to find a halo ambience video and now you made it. That’s crazy, keep killing it 👏🏻🙌🏻
WELL THEN. now that I've watched this video I'm gonna go replay Halo 2 because the nostalgia is incredible.
The sounds of 117!! Cannot wait for this!! Thank you!!
6:53 to 8:00 wow, fucking wow , my childhood just flashed
I was literally just thinking the other day that Ambient Worlds should do Halo! Looking forward to the listen!
This… brings back so many good memories…
Wow. I…think I just found the most amazing UA-cam “video” I will ever want or need. Thank you for creating this. 🥰
Easily one of the best video game series with incredible music.
Another one knocked out of the park, just as we have come to expect
If there's any video that deserves a double like it is for sure this one, love the Halo games and their scores.
The tracks Never Forgotten and Never Forget in Halo 2 and 3 are my absolute favorite. That was the track I listened to when I was playing Halo 2 and got a call saying my grandma died.
I love this video a lot. It's always so nice to spend time watching the world go by. Love it! Thanks so much!
Goddayum
All the memories start flooding back right at the start of the video
Sheeit, this is great
~Day7 Ambient World study sessions~
This is easily my favorite.
I remember asking for exactly this a while back and you saying it was coming. Thank you so much for holding to that! Love your channel!!!
Halo franchise is one of the best creation ever.
Amazing! Been a Halo Fan over a decade and several years to come. You earned a sub and like. Also, that's some pretty good graphics at 4k 60fps. Im impressed
Absolutely beautiful, one of my favorites yet
Many video games have better musical scores than actual movies. Loving this channel while working with the ambience - keep up the good work!
We’re playing one of these songs (or a couple?) for our big spring band concert. I’ve never played this game, yet I also feel a sense of nostalgia whenever I hear (or play) that main theme
Good memories...
Wow!!! What a surprise this morning..
Thank you Tyler.
Waiting "Shrek - Far Far Away" since Sept 22, 2890.
This is so soothing & peaceful. As a die-hard halo fan. Thanks for uploading! 🙏🏿 much respect!
😱
Time to break out my best Master Chief impression....
The comments here are absolutely delightful. It's nice to see a community that's all too often toxic come together to appreciate this gorgeous music. Nice job Ambient Worlds, keep it up.
One thing no one can deny: The music has always been the heart and soul of Halo!
This will make a fine addition to my collection... oh wait wrong series
"Not this time. And this time you won't escape."
I've been rereading the halo novels to these. Fantastic work.
These are amazing guys! A Neverland version from hook would be sick ha ha but seriously awesome job!
Yessssssssss! Neverland!
We still stand strong.
To this day
Every day
Good will always triumph
I love you,
YOU ARE WORTHY
YOU ARE HERE FOR A PURPOSE
YOU HAVE BEEN MOLDED DOWN TO THE VERY ATOM.
MOLDED TO JUST THE PERFECT WAY YOU ARE MEANT TO BE
REALIZE YOUR INNER BET SELF IS ALREADY DEEP IN YOU
JUST WAITING, WAITING FOR YOU TO LEAP
GO FORTH
I just needed 4 seconds to know that this is my favorite video.
Holy Dark, **escaping,memorys**.!!!
I like how you dropped a little personal note in the description on how you've been playing Halo since you were a lad. This is amazing. Your work is awesome.
Hope you're enjoying HALO INFINITE.
“Wake me… When you need me.”
For me to listen to your music every day is a great thing, often make great videos
Brings back good memories of…….
The Multiplayer lobbies of Xbox 360. Good times
@Aubrey Jarvis that’s sad.
@Aubrey Jarvis I usually don’t because my mic picks up background noise.
Especially with older brothers who shaped you into the warrior you are today because they were just so good and you were but the youngest... e😂
@@castleguard_of_xbox360 as the youngest child in my family, this hits home.
Ambient Worlds posts a new one
Me - "Killing Spree!!!!"🔥
Halo still the best game out there from game play to storylines.
That first song brought instant nostalgia and a tear of happy childhood memories
Been following this channel for a long time and this may be my favorite video yet. We appreciate all you do my man!
