you are a very honest do it yourself biker....and i enjoy these videos more than others done by pro`s....so thankyou buddy....your honesty at very beginning was very refreshing....i enjoyed very much so thankyou again....nice`n easy....
Great video and geared toward non-mechanics like myself. Good job. A couple of comments: always disconnect the negative first and reconnect it last. That way, if you short the positive the current has no path to ground. Next, you're installing an AGM battery (GREAT!)... but viewers should be aware that any tender used on them, needs to be designed for that. Most modern tenders are (NOCO, BatteryTender Plus, etc) but if you have an old tender do your research. Don't know why you are eating batteries. I'd be looking at a parasitic drain. Battery should last 6 years at least especially when put on a tender when not being ridden. Of course a lithium will totally solve that problem as they love hot weather. Best battery I know of for RK is the Powersport Lightning Start 500CCA AGM for $131 on Amazon. My 2014 Road king has a tender (SAE) pigtail installed at the factory. Right side hanging down in front of the rear wheel. If you have an alarm you need to turn on the ignition, let the alarm disarm, disconnect the main fuse connector, turn off the ignition and then follow the instructions on this video. Experts will say to disconnect the main fuse connector AFTER disarming the alarm and turning the ignition back off but you have to do this quickly.
First time owner and wanted to run my own tender cable. Pulled that seat and had a "what the hell" moment but UA-cam came through again. Just finished up and couldn't have been easier thanks to your video!
Yes, with modern harleys, the alarm goes off if you disconnect it. You have to start the ignition, of course with a FOB present, pull the fuse while ignition is on, then the alarm will not go off.

You should always reconnect the negative terminal last. You could short out your wrench to the frame if you connect the positive last.
Thanks for that advice.

yo, great vid, Got a 2014 FLHTP with a weak battery, your vid helps out.
Good video, make easy work of a battery replacement.
How do you disarm the battery alarm
Touring bikes have a code that you enter using the blinker buttons. There are videos show that on UA-cam. Mine doesn't have one.
Are there any issues with the theft alarm when disconnecting the battery?

Disconnect negative first...reconnect negative last. Common sense.
