i love how for hpb each language has a "does it the best" part English's "I will not let go" perfectly sets the tone that this move will *hurt.* Korean's "Heavenly Potemkin" is just straight up terrifying but of course none of the two got the "BUUUUUSTAAH!" part better than Japanese
it's such a shame because the english voice for potemkin is really well done, it's just not quite the right voice. needs a bit more growly quality to it to match the japanese and korean versions
@@bepisman62049 I thought he was mixed indian/russian? like canonically I don't know what his actual ethnicity is but zepp was based off of india and soviet russia I thought
@@FungalFury after look through some wiki pages and stuff I'm starting to reconsider because they never mention what his actual ethnicity is. It just says he's Russian, but he's always looked black to me. Idk man
no mean to disrespect the enligsh and korean VAS, but the japanese VA fits better with Potemkin. it's in the way he delivers his lines, that RAW POWA and growl, how he makes you terrified of every single move that this tank of a human being delivers. the two area bit to calm, meanwhile bro makes you FEEL that he is giving EVERYTHING in the fight, from the normal attacks to the HEAVENLYYYY POTEMKIIIIIN BUUUUUUSTAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! like you have the power to make the most impactful papeada in the existence of the entire franchise, not only breaking your enemy's spine, but also their spirit. you feel like bane when he broke the bat
If we're at a house party, nothing is more obnoxious and funny than hearing and doing the english dub of "heavenly potemkin buster" over and over against people lol
On the subject of the English voice having more growl like the Japanese and Korean voices, would Fred Tatasciore be an agreeable choice? Judging by some of roles I heard him do, I think this role would suit him a lot. Edit: Here are also my rankings. 1. Korean (both gruff but not forced-sounding for my taste) 2. English 3. Japanese (sounded like the voice wasn't properly let out)
Its kinda like the Killer Instinct announcers tbh. The default announcer sounds like he is *losing his goddamn mind* whereas the classic announcer sounds too chill, almost like he's forcing his excitement. When I land an Ultra combo with the default guy it sounds like dude is foaming at the mouth before he bites a chunk out of his desk and falls over dead. Classic sounds like the dude was mildly impressed. Same here with Potempkin. The Japanese voice actor is throwing every ounce of his soul into his delivery. You can hear this man flex, and part of you worries he's gonna shit himself with how much he's exerting. The English VA sounds like it's 2 am and his mom told him to keep it down. Bro wants to get hype but can't. This feels like a voice direction problem tbh.
The Japanese Version is better on every aspect except one. The Heavenly Potemkin Buster voice lines are phenomenal and I prefer it over the Japanese version.
The japanese voice actor puts his whole existence into the shout
he`s sounds like a allmight
“Heavenly Potemkin Buster!”
Potemkin said calmly.

funny enough Japanese one still changed the pitch of the voice. while Korean one barely has any effect aside from compressing

Imagine if they editted the voicelines of EN and KO like they did with JP.

needs a bit more “BUSTA!!!” For English but still good
id chage the voice setting to english if it
was better ngl
Falta el doblaje latino y que diga POTEEEEEEEMMMMKIIIIMMMM DEEEESSTRUKTOORRR.
Nothing can match the raw POWER behind the Japanese VA's buster lines
Love that in Japanese he says Potёmkin

It's just voice acting, dude.

I really prefer english
That's actually insane. Did we listen to the same video? Japanese and Korean versions nail it while english sadly falls short.
