  • This somewhere takes us to a greatly loved and followed gas station chain. That's right, I said gas station chain lol. But it is no ordinary gas station chain with an ordinary run of the mill convenient store. Take everything you know about gas stations and put it on steroids. They have 120 gas pumps on the more than 53,000-square-foot of space! And supposedly the food isn't too bad either and the gas, at the time of this filming, was pretty cheap too.
    This company takes branding to a similar level as Kiss (for those familiar with that rock band and I would be shocked if you hadn't at least heard of them), their name is on everything it seems. They have Buc-ee's food, shirts, mugs, toys, etc...
    We are going to do a quick tour of the store itself and the finish off the video with a food review of some of their items. You already know I have to eat some of their much-hyped food.
    On-site content was filmed on 09-07-22 and 09-11-22.

      YES!!! I freakn LOVE Amarillo, TX. I am an OTR driver and go to Amarillo Tyson plant often. I would seriously consider moving to Amarillo from San Antonio where I am now. Will see what the future holds.

    The South has forever been abundant in farmlands rolling with peaches, pecans, watermelon, and okra-but no crop might be quite so Southern as the humble peanut. If there was a designated Peanut Country, we'd be smack in the middle of it, with nearly 45 percent of peanuts grown in Georgia and the remainder throughout the South, particularly in Alabama and Texas. So it comes to no surprise that some of the South's most old-fashioned candies found in roadside stores, as well as your grandmother's kitchen, chose the beloved peanut as the star of the sugary show. Seriously, Southerners can't get enough of them-peanut brittle, Goo Goo Clusters, peanut chews, Chick-O-Sticks, and one of our personal favorites: a lesser-known candy called Peanut Patties made popular thanks to a candy company in Tyler, Texas. Similar to peanut brittle, but with a slightly chewier texture underneath the hard caramelized shell (especially when homemade), Peanut Patties are made with simple ingredients like light corn syrup, sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and evaporated milk; and they are the most popular candy product made by small-town confection company Tyler Candy (located, you guessed it, in Tyler, Texas), which started in 1941 and still uses the peanut patty-making machine patented by the founder.

      Thank you for this, I always enjoy learning the history of different things. I will be sure to try the pattie again if I see them other places to compare (hopefully it is this one experience was a misstep). I am generally a fan of most peanut forward products.

      As an OTR truck driver I made my peace with it. When I'm on the road I know I cant go so I always refer to it as "Boo-C". However, when I am going home for home time, driving back to Texas its BUC-EE'S 😃

    When I was younger, I bought a peanut patty to try it, and I lost 2 teeth when I bit into it. It was good that I was young and had not lost all my baby teeth yet. So, it just made those teeth come out a lot sooner than probably would have.

    • @CWooSomewhere
      @CWooSomewhere  Рік тому

      Luckily, it was just your baby teeth you lost. It is no fun losing teeth regardless. I am still in shock the patty was that hard.

      What’s wrong with the thousands of truck stops and other places specifically designed to cater to truck traffic?

  • @TechGuyCanton
    @TechGuyCanton 10 місяців тому

    I am not a trucker nor do I personally know a trucker. Buc-ee's could give out free food and I would not go there. Their policy of no truckers is insane, unreasonable, and what type of vehicle delivers their store stock? Also what type of vehicle delivers almost everything you bring to your house. Why screw the truckers? Without these truckers our great nation would be totally broken, empty shelves and out of control prices. This is how we show thanks to these people? Buc-ee's has plenty of property and money to accommodate truckers instead of showing their middle finger to them.

      There are thousands of places designed to cater to truck traffic. Why can’t families and tourists have 1 place designed for them away from trucks?

    I can't stand Buc-ees, nothing green, very little fresh fruit or vegetables but a LOT of meat and white bread, horrific snacks, just no thank you
