You can buy groceries/cleaning items, any snack or candy you could think of, there is a brisket bar, fudge bar, ice cream station, beef jerky bar, bakery, t shirts/shorts, boutique like clothing and jewlery, nice kitchen items, alcohol, and many many more things . . . But tbh I always stop for the bathrooms

There's a huge difference between gas in Canada & the US too. Average gas price/L right now is 1.19, in Winnipeg. The price varies widely across the country
Most gas station washrooms I've seen are just single user washrooms, no stalls.

This makes me so happy! I live 10 minutes from Buc-ee's and every time I go there, I think of all the snacks y'all need to try! When you come to Texas, you'll definitely have to get the chocolate covered pecans and pulled pork sandwiches. They're my absolute favorite treats from Buc-ee's.
On the topic of gas prices, because the U.S. and particularly Texas has so many oil refineries, we don't have to import as much gas, making it much cheaper for us.
I laughed when you said Texas seemed very deserty. Texas is so large we actually have over 10 different climate regions. The only area that's considered desert is West Texas!

Every time I see you take a drink of water after eating something spicy, Kate, I yell at my phone “don’t do it!” The oils from peppers is what makes it spicy - water only spreads the burn! To combat heat, drink milk or eat a bite of yogurt or sour cream. It took a long time for this Texan to remember that lesson! 🤣

Hi Kate & Alex! Just remember when planning your trip to Texas, we are a HUGE state and one can drive literally all day, and not make it out! Dallas & Fort Worth are a must, though I know you've been here. In the DFW metro-area, you must visit Grapevine, which borders DFW Airport. Our State Capital city is Austin (about 2.5 hours drive south of DFW) and I think you would love the MUSIC and art it offers. San Antonio (home of the Alamo.. history there) is nice with amazing Mexican food. Hill Country/Big Bend.. have a look for hiking and lovely scenery. Long time fan here, and so fun watching yours and Alex's success! ❤🇨🇱

The Buc-ee's in my area (San Antonio, TX) also have lights above each toilet stall near the ceiling, and they are green when the toilet is vacant, and turn red once someone is in the stall. It's amazing, so you just look for one with a green light, since there are so many, and you can see it from across the massive room.

Gas in Texas is much cheaper because they drill for gasoline right there, we are in California and the other day my husband filled up our truck, 25 gallons and it cose close to $100 and we expect the prices to go up because of the Summer Tourist season. Pepper jellies are all somewhat the same but a little different depending on the peppers used and the company that makes them, thanks to the two of you I went online and ordered 6 or 7 of the Pepper Lane Jellies and my daughter invaded my stash and took some home, so I haven't tasted them all but we're hoping to do a small trip to Utah and in a few months so we might need to make a side trip. Thanks for sharing your adventure with Bucc-ees, it was fun to watch.

We don't have bucky's we're I live, but we do have large truck stop gas stations such as "Flying J" on major interstate highways. Because the US is so large, our semi truck drivers can often be away from home for weeks at a time while they are driving cross country to deliver goods. The large truck stop gas stations often have a wide variety of items to provide as quick stops for truck drivers. Drivers can also pay to use shower facilities at some stops while on the road as many of them sleep in the back cab of their trucks and don't stay in hotels.

If you're in south Texas, I recommend making the drive to New Orleans, Louisiana (my hometown) for some food and music. There's lots of historical stuff as well (Chalmette Battlefield from the War of 1812, the National WW2 Museum, etc) if you're into that stuff. If you go to Tennessee, I remember loving Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg (summer vacation as a kid). Gatlinburg is right outside the Smokey Mountain National Park and there are some awesome hiking trails and waterfalls. About 2hrs from Gatlinburg is Asheville, North Carolina which is neat as well. If you're in Florida, I love St. Augustine (it's the oldest city in the US founded by the Spanish in 1565). They also have a burger place called Burger Buckets which has a Maple Fudge Bacon Burger which is delicious (I hope the place is still there).

You can learn the history of the first colonies of the US, go to Yorktown which is an historic battlefield, go to Jamestown which was where the first settlers were, go to Bush Gardens which is a great amusement park and take a tour of the the Budweiser beer factory and see the amazing Budweiser Clydesdales . It’s so much fun and you will learn a lot if history about the United States and the revolution.

Hi guys ,such a great box! I never heard of Buckees until I seen you guys trying and talking about it. It sounds awesome. I live to far away from Texas, it is across country trip from Pennsylvania to Texas. Our gas prices in Lancaster, Pa. Is $2.99 a gallon,it is to expensive to go on long road trips to other states. Have a great weekend ahead,Hugs!

Climate depends on where you are in Texas, we have coastal gulf beaches, we have the the forest Piney Woods, we have the semi-arid western plains, the fertile farmlands of the northern panhandle, the rocky river areas of the hill country, and others I’m missing.

Buc-ees in Ft. Worth, TX is next to a big speedway. Texas Motor Speedway is hosting Indy Car Saturday. I have a ticket to watch the races but before or after or maybe both times I'll hit up Buc-ees for gasoline and snacks, etc. You have to go. It is like a required visit(s) if you are that close. Buc-ees sells all sorts of things and there is always something new to see.

I really liked this box and especially enjoyed the photos since I'll probably never get to visit a Buc-ee's (unfortunately). They look awesome. Forget visiting TX,I would go just to visit that Buc-ee's LOL! You all should come to Louisiana! New Orleans is famous for it's music and it's food/drinks. Shoot, the French Quarter and Bourbon Street is enough just to make a 24 hr blog by itself! LOL! You could also do some haunted places or cemetery tours while in Louisiana too. Myrtles Plantation is one of the most haunted places in America (supposedly). Food, music and scares...what more can you ask for?!? :-)

Just to give you an idea of how big it is. The Buc-ee's here in Denton, Texas has 122 gas pumps, and it has a big car wash with a lot of spaces for vacuuming cars, and it has a lot of parking spaces. Google says it's 55,000 square feet.

I also calculated the fuel price difference here. My local fuel price would calculate out to about 0.85 pounds per liter. But as you said in your video, in most towns in the US we have to drive large distances as we do not have nearly the same level of public transportation.

Yes. Us Texans drive everywhere. Everything is spread out. I live in the DFW( Dallas/ Ft Worth or Metroplex) area. The last time I got gas( petrol) it was $2.39 a gallon. We have buses and a transit line but they are riddled with crime. We do have transportation for people to get to and from doctors appointments. West Texas is more like what everyone pictures Texas as. Dry and deserty. To give you a picture of how spread out it is. This Buccees in Dent on is 3 1/2 houfs away from me, even though we are both considered the DFW area. I laughed when you said that Tennesse isn't that far. I married a Tennessee guy. We drive 18 hours to the Chattanooga area when we go vi it.

Best road trip Ive ever done is from Austin Texas to New Orleans and then Florida. You get the best of Texas in Austin go to the The Alamo in San Antonio and then on to New Orleans, which is the most interesting city in the USA and they have the best food. Baked oysters, bignets, stews, po boys and so so so much more!!!! Then to florida- Destin is gorgeous, try the alligator nuggets ( just kidding, although if your game who am i to judge🤣) Seriously though i have driven 1000’s of hours all over the USA and that was the best road trip ever. Another top suggestion is to fly into San Jose califonia- see the redwoods in Santa Cruz, drive up the coast stop in Half Moon Bay and continue up the Oregon coast. 😊🎉😊

Our gas prices vary WILDLY depending on the town here in Ontario, Canada. It can be $1.20/L CAD(0.70/L GBP) where I am, but only $0.98/L in another, but I live in a 'cottage country'. The prices during COVID have been a bit more consistent across areas, but still vary.
