Everyone loves the Ancients, and I do too. But no one ever brought up how they kept leaving problems all over the universe. The wraith, the replicators (i assume), the people on the planet in Pegasus that fight each other according to game settings, the ori.
Ima be fair to them they didn’t create the ori they just refused to deal with them and instead left altogether
I wish a whole series would be dedicated to the Ancients.
I wish there would be something like what if ancients never died or u know what i mean

More than just the ancients. How about during the time of the 4 great races alliance and there turns out to be a big baddie that took all 4 of them to fight which afterwards is what caused the nox to go passive.

DJGT...you got the last bit wrong...it was not the hope of the Ancients that humanity would return and claim their city, it was their hope that THEIR kind, the Ancients, would one day return and reclaim their city and ostensibly kick the Wraith out of the galaxy....
Dr' Weir's arrival back in time and meeting them proved to them that Humans. not Alterans, would return. Kind of hard to hope for for the latter after physical proof shows up in a crashed jumper at your doorstep.

@@Rexs_Den i think the hologram did state that the Alterans would hope their own kind would return. must have created the hologram to record their reasoning for their departure from Atlantis before Weir crashed the past no pun intended. Also even considering this it makes no sense for the Alterans to hope their kind would return anyways I mean didn't all the Milky Way Ancients ascend by the time Atlantis was submerged? Did the Alterans not know that Milky Way humans were enslaved by Goa'ulds at the time of their departure from Atlantis ??

@@Rexs_Den Except it wasn't the Altereans that set it up, but Janis. The others were happy to just destroy the time machine and take Wier back. Janis set up the fail safe, Wier to rotate the zpm etc.
The Atlantis expedition is always looking for that next ZPM. They're in Atlantis; last standing city of the Ancients. Maybe the should look for the manufacturing facility for the cities primary power device. Otherwise, where do ZPM's come from?
Correct me if I’m wrong but they did find the thing I think- and when they used it - that alternate Rodney appeared in it.
Then there was the failed experimental station of the power source that was supposed to make the ZPM look like a AA battery but there were complications with all of it

Something that is missed until re watching the series is according to Anubis, after leaving the Milkyway the Ancients pulled a Forrunner and used the Dakara device to wipe out all life in the milky way in order to stop the plaque then using the same device reseeded life.
What episode was that in? I've seen them all but I don't recall hearing that.

Season 8 after the replicators were wiped out and Jackson is talking to Anubis aka the fat guy, the line is easily missed which is why I was surprised when re watching all ten season's that I got for Christmas.
Okay, so that's the season 8 finale, which is when Anubis is the businessman in the diner. Alright, I'll watch it again. Is it early, middle, or late in the episode?

I don't think the timeline of the ancients really adds up, but I love Sg1.
I'm 80% sure Dr Nicolas Rush stated the Destiny predates the main Milky Way Galaxy network of stargates.
Others already caught the alliance of the four great races was more of a recent thing.
Destiny predates all Stargates, as the ones the seed ships put out we're the first gates.

the destiny's mission wasn't to seed planets with stargates, it was meant to seek out that signal that the Alteran were looking for and also to test stargates that have been previously planted as well as replenish more resources as some things become broken and needed to be repaired.
i have an theory that the ship probably had more robots on it at the beginning, to keep the ship in good repair but some of them broke down or were destroyed perhaps ambushed and destroyed along the millions of years journey, so the ship's AI adjusted it's parameters and continued on it's journey, probably until it could no longer do so.
so the destiny doesn't predate all the stargates, the thing about the idea behind the stargate was they were probably built in the milky way first as they were an experiment and most likely needed to be trouble shoot in order to work out all the kinks and perfect them enough so they would work when it was time to seed planets.
the Alteran likely dismantled the first gates and upgraded to the new or second generation stargate design, gray color ones. and it's my theory that they seeded these as well as beyond the milky way as we can find these style of gates within the ida galaxy where the Asgard remain, so it could be possible that the second generation gate system is also still being seeded within other galaxies out there like all the seed ships that were created along the path for the destiny.
i would assume the same for the Pegasus gate system as well.

You’re numbers are a bit off the Ancients left there home galaxy from the ori about 50 million years ago, and came to the milky way galaxy,
the Asgard are about 100,000+ years old and come from the Ida galaxy, so the alliance between the four great races is at lest that old -
The Ancients left earth to flee from the plague approx 3-5 million years ago and headed to the Pegasus dwarf galaxy,
some 10,000 years ago- after their 100 year war with the wraith, some returned to earth to live out life’s while the rest ascend,
the Destiny was sent from earth so it’s at lest 3 million years at minimum.
Sorry but it's more then 50 million because the beta gate (2nd generation) is that old lol and destiny gates are the first generation gates ie prototype gates so they are even older. They left their galaxy a long long time ago. Even atlantis the newest tech is millions of years old.

sooooo, did the Ancients meet the Asguard and the Furlings and the Nox all at the same time?? if the Ancients left Earth 3 million years ago but the Alliance of Four Great Races depends on the Ancients and Asguard working together and the Asguard are only 100,000 years old then how does the Alliance exist? And did Destiny seed Milky Way and then the Ancients replaced the original stargates with the current Milky Way stargates or did the Ancients seed the Milky Way themselves do you think the Milky Way was the first galaxy they came to after leaving their original home or did they seed other galaxies first?
@@casperhelix ancients came back to earth,so alliance could be any time before or after,but with the asgard it's definitely after they came back to earth. And the seed ships only seed in small areas, they don't do the entire galaxy..so pegagus would have had the few destiny gates replaced eventually.

I'm sure the history of the ancients is much more than just a 4 minute video. I'm sure their true history can fill up hundreds of books.
Asguard are not from this Galaxy.
Good spot, I wonder if they were involved because of their dominance in the Ida Galaxy, which on an intergalactic scale is fairly close to the milky way.
It's likely once they had the ships, they would explore and end up meeting the Ancients, and while both are rather peaceful races, would lead to a natural alliance, and as they Ancients started fading as a race, the Asguard, with the Nox and the Furlings must of agreed to protect their descendants.

@@daisyduck8593 nope they are from the galaxy Othalla. It is where the replicators originally went to war with the asgard and where they meet the first humanoid replicators in season 6 during the Prometheus heist. Carter mentions the name of their galaxy in new order part 1 of season 8.

Also does anyone know what happened to the crew of the Destiny? Can you imagine them waiting on a seed ship dropping Stargates?
The destiny was sent out unmanned and expected to recieve the ancient crew later on, but the plague wiped them out.
The idea of Stargate portal is not science fiction and exists on Earth and connects to other known world's the only difference is that instead of symbols being used to lock onto a planet numbers are used and only biological entities are only allowed to enter the portals this is to prevent it being used as a weapons delivery system and won't allow non biological matter to reintegrate on the other side. Stargate series is a loose representation from the real existence of the Stargate network within our galaxy... It's creation dates back over millions of years ago from a builder race that were the original inhabitants of this solar system.

They wouldn't have mapped the entire Milky Way if they were arrogant butts, they did it because they were curious like normal humans.

The ancients, whilst corporeal, lost a lot of major conflicts due to their arrogance, and caused major problems for themselves, like the wraith, through pretty much the same disposition.
They were arrogant butts, and that arrogance progressed into an even more arrogant superiority when they ascended (believing themselves to be above other life and so not helping them), it is even stated in the show that the ancients even though ascended are still searching for knowledge meaning they are far from perfect beings.
They have proven themselves time and time again to be arrogant as all hell, believing they were superior until something came and sucker punched them, by which point it was normally too late so they got fucked sideways by that which sucker punched them.
Go watch the episode of Atlantis where they find actual ancients on a ship in the void between the Milkyway and Pegasus. They kick the atlantis expedition out and take over the city and end up getting fucked over by their own version of replicators (another problem they arrogantly created)
Keep believing what you do if you want. But the rest of us know the ancients were, whilst smart, Fucking dumb as rocks at the same time.

You do realize that Replicators and Wraiths are only a "recent" problem for the Ancients.
They only lost because most Ancients were already ascended by that time.
The only real problems Ancients had was the Ori.
They were a problem millions of years ago and they were probably the ones that started the plague.
The Wraiths, the Replicators, thats all modern history.
By the time Ancients officially lost vs Wraiths most have already ascended and we can conclude that within the last 10000 years, all Ancients have ascended.

i believe your both correct, there were many within the ranks of the atlantians who were arrogant asshats, but i don't think all of them were, you mentioned them not helping when they were ascended, i believe the reason why they didn't help in the manor that most would want them to is because of how an ascended being gains power from the lower planes.
if you remember how the Ori gain power via worship, that's how it was explained within the lore.
the Ori extract power from their followers of the lower planes when they pose as gods, and by the same concept so could the ascended Alterans, however it seemed that the Alteran would rather have equal power within the ascended ranks and they hold more power as an group than by themselves through submission of the lower planes, and they hated the Ori so much for this kind oppression through supplication that they were strongly against gaining power through the lower planes.
Oma Dasala, and Morgan Le Fey, and Merlin Orlin, where the only within the ascended ranks that thought this was not the only way to gain power in the case the fight with the Ori were to come to their shores of the milky way, but because of the intervention of the OTHERS they were not able to build enough power through this method as well as what happened to Oma through Anubis.
Anubis knew the rules very well, probably because he tried to break them in the beginning, he knew that he couldn't use his newfound ascended abilities as the OTHERS would stop him causing him to start over, however there was an loophole that Anubis took advantage of that the OTHERS wouldn't stop him with, but i think the other reason why they allowed him to continue was also to continue to punish Oma as Anubis was her sole responsibility.
the OTHERS were arrogant, Oma was only trying to give the Ascended ranks an advantage against the Ori threat that would eventually come to the milky way.
but they probably also stopped her out of fear that these other ascended beings would overpower them and their influence within the ascended realm.
so not all of the Alteran were arrogant asshats who never lifted a finger.
i have an theory of how Anubis tricked her. and i believe it was through one of the many OTHERS who wanted to stop her, came to Anubis and revealed to how he could trick her, because otherwise how could she been tricked soo easily? it makes sense that one of the OTHERS who wanted to stop her to have this roadblock in her path.
so they could prevent her from gaining any more power and influence than she already had.

I never understood why the ancients couldn't just fly Atlantis out of Pegasus. It doesn't take that long to lift off and it had pretty good shields to withstand the Wraith during the war, so what was the problem?

Lift off and friction leaving atmo would have given the x amount of wraith ships overpowering weapon superioty
First of all, Ancients didn't give a fuck.
Most of them were on their way to be ascended.
Second of all, if they knew that a thousand Wraith ships was going to attack Atlantis, they would have left.
But as seen in many episodes of Atlantis, taking off with a cityship is not that easy and they certainly wouldn't be able to do it while under fire from 1000 Wraith ships.
Because they wanted to eventually come back and take the galaxy back from the Wraith. If Atlantis leaves Pegasus then there'd be no more foothold for the Ancients should they wish to return. On the other hand, they can leave with ships and keep Atlantis like a sort of backdoor to Pegasus and arrive there with relative safety. You got to think they have no idea Wraith would hibernate and feed periodically. they probably thought Wraith would always be active and travel back to Pegasus by ship would be a bad idea.

Ancients created Wraith so they would probably know how they work.
Ancients have ships that can travel easily between galaxies, they don't need a super stargate like the Wraith do.
Also its hard to win against a race that just seemingly endlessly spawn more ships.
Aurora-class ships are very "expensive" (in resources) and each could destroy a Wraith fleet without a problem while a Wraith hive is absolutely huge and surprisingly high tech and you could make 50 Wraith ships while Ancients built one.
Its absolute bullshit that the Ancients lost considering how smart they were and how technologically superior they were.
They could have come up with a virus, a weapon (like they do every time SG1 needs a plot weapon) to destroy the Wraith easily.
But the sad thing is that in Stargate there are a lot of plot devices and when you structure everything in, it doesn't make sense.
They were as cunning as humans in Stargate : SG1, this isn't the Roman age ffs when you would go into a forrest not worrying about being ambushed.

the goauld came long after the ancients left thee milky-way galaxy. as the alterans left our galaxy most of its live had died only a few remained alterans remained behind to seed new live in the milky way galaxy presumably by the Dakara Superweapon

Ssssoooo if they built one city ship who's to say they didn't make two or three or even hundreds and send them to lots of different galaxy's and the people in the series only visits/knows about one so some where in the vast universe there still could be entire galaxy colonised by the ancient oblivious to the happenings of the Milkyway/Pegasus galaxy. That could be the plot of a new series. :)
there should be a show centered on a current Ancient civilization if that is the case. idk about you but as interesting as it is I've had enough of seeing humans trying to tap into Ancient technology. what was so cool about the show since day one for me was the action and the alien technology. if we could see a current Ancient civilization at war with aliens utilizing all their technology to the extent of its ability that would be WAY BADASS 10 automatic stars no question

Why did the ancients both seeding less evolved humans across their galaxies?
Two theories, possibly not mutually exclusive. Fist the Ancients weren’t a people but a collective. They knew no society endures forever so the first Alterans seeded people’s they knew would grow and develop into equals. In time they would join the Alterans, bringing fresh ideas and inspiration and perspectives to a stagnating race. The Ancients incorporated all these races and so would always benefit from the youthful dynamism of developing cultures.

Second the Ancients were too snobby to bother growing crops and digging up ores So seeded lesser races on resource rich worlds and then encouraged a reverent attitude so they would tribute goods and services while the Ancients sat back and mediated on how great they were.

I always hated the idea that the Ancients were just a previous incarnation of humans. And it's clear this wasn't the original intention. In the episode "The Fifth Race", where O'Neill has the contents of the Ancient repository of knowledge downloaded into his brain, we find out that the Ancients used base 8 math. This only makes sense if they had 8 fingers. We use base 10 math because we have 10 fingers.
Not really... some countries count knuckles instead of digits... it just so happens 10 is more easily divisible. Nothing to do with how many digits someone has.
@@smoothie9931 As far as being "easily divisible" goes, base 12 would have made a lot more sense than base 10. 12 is divisible by 2, 3, 4 and 6, where as 10 is only divisible by 2 and 5, and 5 isn't a very useful number to be divisible by.
Incidentally, that IS why we use 360 degrees, because it's divisible so many ways. Every number up to 12 except 7 and 11.

I really enjoyed this. Thanks. Makes me wanna watch the series all over again. When I first watched, it was without closed captions, as many of the dvd's didn't haven 'em I don't think. Due to severe hearing loss I missed a lot of details that you mentioned. Thanks. :-)

I am in the same boat. The older DVD does have closed caption, but it cannot be run on HDMI connection, which does not carry the CC decoder. So to find a way around it, is to use the coaxial cables.
Another option, I think is that on the Blu-ray disc, it has them.
the ancients may of had impressive technology but they also made some of the worst mistakes in the history of the universe. They created the attero device (cause gates to explode and kill millions), created the wraith to become immortal with mind powers (caused the death of untold billions to the pegasus galaxy), created the Asuran Replicators ( causing thousands of deaths), their general arrogance and lack of regard for human life (experminted on them and treated them like a unwanted stray dog), general laziness (this kinda goes with their arrogance, they believed them selves to be all powerful so they took forever to respond to threats like wraith, cause they believed themselves too powerful to be challenged by anyone. This also lead to them getting the disease that wiped out most of their race and even the Tria crew with the benefit of hindsight and the offer of alliance with Earth they still held on to that arrogant laziness and then got killed). There are others like the Project arturus and such but basically Ancients were just assholes with too much power. They were awed by a lot of humans but i think people like the Tauri eventaully saw for what they really are and only respected for what they created but not at all what they did with it.
I never understood the timeline. Sometimes they say that the ancients are millions of years old and sometimes they say thousands. I think millions seems off since they knew the asgard.
Ancients returned to the milky way after the lost the war with the wraith, 10k years ago, which was when the four races council was formed.
How did the wraith get so powerful? I guess it was the ancients just not cleaning up their mess soon enough
Well, the answer is a bit more complicated than that but in a way yes. For a long time the wraith posed no real threat to them. But for some reason they were able to develop space faring technology at a rapid pace. And started feeding on the human world which the ancients protected. After the war began, the ancients with their superior technology were able to keep the wraith in check and even gain territory from them. However being the ancients aka the most advanced race they didn't really wage any wars ever and made giant mistakes. The biggest one was letting 3 of their ZPM powered ships be captured by the wraith. The wraith were able to use the ZPMs to create a massive army of clones in a rapid time. And since the wraith ships are grown construction of the fleet to host this army was not a problem either. Thats when the tides turned. Altough the ancients still won most battles but they were not able to keep up with the wraith numbers and could not secure strategic victories. They began to loose territory at an unexpected level so a solution was needed. And they decided to fk up in an entirely different but still galactic way. They created the nanites which later developed into the Asuran replicators. This almost turned the tide except the ancients in their infinite retardation did not think that adding a couple of commands that bars from harming normal humans as well was needed. And the wraith were able to use a virus on a captured replicator to disable to attack command. After this the ancients decided to wipe them out. That didn't go as planned as the replicators survived. IN any case they also tried in a last ditch effort to utilize the Arcturus project. Which was an equally gigantic disaster. After this the ancients slowly retreated back to Lantia and the rest is history.

@@knowledgegizmo7934I think the Alterans (Ancients) we know about and cause all these problems were not the brightest lights of their race.
The best Ancients ascended naturally, and as we saw in the episode where Rodney accidentally used one of their machines, essentially "cheated" their way to ascension or just died out.
So we are seeing the "leftovers" of the race who are not so bright and wise.
You'll notice the Destiny and the seed ships leave hates with no DHD, so no Go'uld type race can use them.
In Pegasus they made more space gates eventually, maybe they heard about the Go'uld and tried to limit the spread of Wraith that way too.
Like I said, probably not the sharpest tools in the Alteran shed.

am Confused. How are there Stargates in the Ori /Alterran home galaxy then?
I’ve never seen a Stargate in the Ori galaxy from both SG1 and the movies, only supergates built by the priors with guidence from ascended Ori. Surely a group of religious fnatic just as advanced and old as the Ancients has some knowledge for instant intergalatic travel.
We need a new Stargate not crap like SGU
sgu is great story but i think it was played in a sometimes boring way they should have made it in thhe stil of sg1 and atlantis
So the Ori get a power boost when people worship them. In Pegasus people worship the Ancestors (Ancestors being the Ancients) so the Ancients should get the same power boost. Right
Maybe they opted to divert their power boosts to Chaya Sar (the Ancient posing as the high priestess of Athar on Proculus who Major Sheppard tries to get lucky with XD) so that she could eternally defend that planet from Wraith attacks
they didn't really worship the ascended beings though, they only perused enlightenment, so they gained power through numbers within the ranks of the ascended.
however an interesting thing to point out, as it was originally believed that the Ori never shared their power and only promised it to their priors and servants that they never gained, but when sg1 used merlin's weapon we learn through Adria that there were many within the ranks of the Ori who had the power, and this was probably because they were not all seeing and all knowing, which is why they eventually decided to give an great many these powers as it was easier to be all seeing and all knowing with many more within the ranks.
it was an advantage that Morgan le fey had against Adria and used it to distract her so she would leave and take care of it, while giving sg1 the time to figure out how to activate the Ark.
So when they wiped out all life in Milky Way, yet that carrier woman was still there in Ice after lol she should've been gone.
Also they could've traveled back in time to fuck the Wraith up, but they didn't want to. Or they could've used the same device to decimate all life in Pegasus, but they didn't, why not? They already did it once before? Maybe it would take way too much time? :D

Something I never understood about the Ancients is that from "several million years ago", when they resided in and eventually departed the Milky Way, until 10,000 yrs ago when they evacuated Atlantis due to losing the war against the Wraith, their technology didn't seem to advance much, if at all. This is putting aside Ascension, which I consider to be biological advancement, not technological. After MILLIONS of years, their technology should be completely unrecognizable from what they developed in the Milky Way. Yet other than a shinier gate, it's pretty much all the same. Same city. Same ships. Same, same, same. In reality, humans should not be able to even have a minimal grasp of technology that is supposed to be millions of years ahead of them (obviously that wouldn't make for much of a tv show!) . Maybe I'm missing something.....
You are right. The scriptwriters used timelines and dating very "flexibly", throwing "millions of years there" and "hundreds of thousands of years there" and did not really care about these consequences. On the other hand, one could argue that their civilization became stagnating and that much of the troubles they were causing wherever they came, were more or less a result of this. And once they became interested in ascention, they no longer cared about "physical" technology.

Here is my take on the history of the Ancients from a Biblical perspective.
The Ancients would also have another name: The Watchers, which were one faction of the third of the angels among a vast array of others that followed Lucifer and went to war against God (Revelation 12:7) and were driven from God's presence, later to become known to us as offworld beings.
Taking their knowledge with them, they established themselves on other worlds. When God created man in His own image, they sought to sabotage God's plans for mankind.
Lucifer, now known as Satan, among many other names including Apophis, sought to spearhead ruining God's plan by bringing sin and subsequently death not only to Adam and Eve, but to all of God's creation. Apophis entered the Garden of Eden taking on the form of a serpent to achieve his objective.
After hearing the news that Apophis succeeded in corrupting Adam and Eve in disobeying God by eating the Forbidden Fruit and consequently being driven from the Garden of Eden, they submerged Atlantis and left for Earth.
The Ancients would also become known the Annunaki and the Watchers. Not only would they teach all manner of sin to mankind, they would also interbreed with man creating a race of giant people known as the Nephilim (Genesis 6:2). At that time, the Earth was encircled with a canopy of water which provided perfect weather all year round worldwide, in which humans would live to almost a millennium.
The Ancients would also be responsible for numerous creatures: the cyclops, the manticore, the basilisk, the unicorn, the cockatrice, the gryphon, the hippogryph, the pegasus, the centaur and many hundreds of thousands of other that we now regard as imaginary animals enshrined in mythology.
The Ancients also installed stargates everywhere on Earth, in which travel between them involved a six chevron sequence. Travel within the Milky Way, seven chevrons. To the Pegasus Galaxy, eight chevrons, beyond that, nine.
That only Enoch, Methuselah, etc, and of course; Noah and his family resisted their will. God saved Noah, his family and all creatures that remained untouched by the Ancients by commanding Noah to build an ark before destroying the Earth with a great flood (Genesis 6:14).
Following the flood, the Ancients wasted no time in replacing the stargates that were lost because of the great flood and set about re-establishing themselves by becoming involved with building the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:3-4), ensuring that mankind only spoke one language; their own.
When God confused the language of the Ancients into many and scattered man across the Earth (Genesis 11:5-8), the Ancients, knowing they were no match for God, they conceded defeat, shed their human forms and became the Ascended, thus paving the way for the Goa'uld to take over, establishing their domains among various peoples.
Yu made China his domain, Amaterasu took the islands of Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu, the Kuril and Ryukyu islands as her domain. Other offworld beings would set up their own domains and establish cultures among mankind.

* The Salish and the Spirits of the Salish in North America. Responsible for native American society.
* The Orbanians in Central and South America. Responsible for the Aztec, Toltec, Olmec, Mayan, Inca and Moche societies.
* The Shavadai in Mongolia. The driving force behind the Mongol Empire.
* The Asgard and the Cimmerians in Germany, Scandinavia and the Baltic. Responsible for Norse and Germanic society. They also established an outpost on the west coast of France, Normandy.
* The Nox in the British Isles and France. Responsible for quarrying stones on the coast of France and levitating them across the English Channel for the purpose of building Stonehenge.
* Another group of Goa'uld, responsible for Australian Aboriginal society. Among those include Waratah the Red, Waratah the White, The Three Sisters, Uluru and the Rainbow Serpent. Their Jaffa are known as Featherfoots. They are able to move at the speed of light. The weapons they use are also indigenous to them. Their staff weapons are similar to those used by the Sodan. Except they can also be fired from the shoulder fitted with an extension known as a woomera which gives an infinitely zoomable heads up display giving an equally infinite range. Another weapon in their arsenal is the boomerang, which is a miniature death glider that is thrown by the user and controlled by mental telepathy, returning to its owner. Their zat'ni'katel, or zat gun is known as the kylie. Unlike the western Goa'uld zat'ni'katel, the kylie does not fold and is carried on the user's belt. The time prior to the death and resurrection of Christ is known to them as the Dreamtime.
Other factions of the third of the angels would be responsible for the foundation of myths, legends, religions and technologies.
* The Wraith would be the founders of the vampire legend, feeding on the blood of humans instead of energy, as the life force of man is in the blood (Leviticus 17:11).
* The Gennii, responsible for both traditional agriculture and modern warfare.
* The Satedans, responsible for special operations and guerrilla warfare.
* The Aschen, responsible for modern large scale farming technology and divide and conquer tactics.
* The Athosians, responsible for the gypsy culture and western astrology.
* Vala Mal Doran's race, responsible for inventing theft, fraudulent practices and trickery.
* The Ori. Responsible for the foundation of the Papacy, the formulation of Canon law and its means of criminal justice and law enforcement.
Every offworld race, enemies and allies alike share God Almighty as their common enemy. They share three goals:
To block the spread of the Gospel, to destroy the Jewish people and to bring all of mankind under the absolute control of Apophis, Ra and Baal.
To help achieve this, the Goa'uld set about forming a state religion to which they would make themselves worshipped in place of Christ. Nerus took the wafer used in Osiris worship and modified it into what would be the communion wafer and invented the doctrine of transubstantiation.
Hathor was behind the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception, the Rosary and the Assumption of Mary.
The Ori drew up Canon Law and dogma, becoming the law and order wing of the Goa'uld.
Other factions of the third of the angels departed from the image of God. Some partially, such as the Asgard. Others completely, such as the Re'tu. The Replicators departed from the image of God to the extent that they composed themselves of inorganic matter. Only using a human form when necessary.

The Ancients already had Atlantis on Earth for whatever reason. A plague began decimating life and a group of Ancients left Earth on Atlantis, bound for Pegasus, leaving Ayiana to hibernate who was infected.

i find the ancient who was encased in ice to be the most interesting within the ranks of the Atlantians. she should have died in that frozen state any other atlantian would have died of this, which makes her much more interesting in my opinion.
i'm thinking she was some kind of biological test subject, we know the Atlantians had tech that could manipulate their DNA, not only did she not really die being incased within this ice, but she also didn't age either, but i find it weird that the virus lived as well.
when merlin was put into cryo sleep he aged he wasn't always an old man, he was an ascended being for a time and then he gave it up so he could be human again, ascended beings have the ability to be within an younger body if they wish, any way he did this so he could do his research in secret without the OTHERS getting in his way.

Michael Scofield because it basically created a loose plot end where the ancients built a ship and supporting ships to travel to a space station that was surrounded by radiation that dated from before the beginning of the universe. This basically sorta messed up the history of the ancients from a viewer perspective because it created such a huge plot direction in the history of the ancients that overshadowed the rest of their history after that point.
