This was the tune that got me into the band, lifelong obsession followed, those twins axes at the end make me spaff inside my trousers every time I hear it, never skip it. Just awesome
Back when the Killers album was released, I had just bought a new Ford Mustang and was driving it out of the dealer's lot. I flipped on the stereo and they announced a new single by Iron Maiden: The Ides of March / Wrathchild. It was the first time I ever heard Iron Maiden. I was instantly hooked!!
Hi guys, just found your channel on what's becoming my regular trip into UA-cam reaction videos, and you're one of the most enjoyable I've found so far. It really works that you're audio only, though I'd love to see what you make of some concert videos. I was very struck by Lex's comment about listening to this stuff for the first time in headphones in the '80's - I was that guy! I grew up listening to Rush, Maiden, Priest, Marillion, wishing I'd been around when Pink Floyd, Led Zep etc were starting out. I'm loving the fact that so many people decades younger than me are finding all this stuff and enjoying it so much, and I'm realising how much I took it for granted growing up. A couple of points - Marillion is definitely pronounced Marill-I-on, it's taken from Tolkien's "The Silmarillion". TBH, you should look at their earlier period stuff when Fish was still in the band, any of it is good. Steven Wilson - definitely. Any Jethro Tull from the '70's, Steely Dan and Supertramp, whose musicianship and production are both unparalleled. Queensryche, particularly Operation Mindcrime. If you're going to do Judas Priest I'd try something from "Stained Class". There's so much out there, looking forward to watching you find it!
Thank you so much for your suggestions and support! We have reacted to Steven Wilson and Queensryche so far and two of the others mentioned are coming... SOON! :) We’re so glad you’re enjoying our channel and we love having you here. Sending peace, Lex :)
Brings back memories from when the early days of Maiden...we thought the first album was great, but this 2nd album was an instant icon... --if you get the chance, watch the documentary of their beginnings and early club days...
Nick said that Genghis Khan and Prodigal Son are his favourite songs on Killers and I agree but those two are 2 and 3 for me. My favourite is Innocent Exile! That's a song that Lex should love! The intro is out of this world!!!!!
When I first heard this at 14 years old in 1981 it was exactly what I had been searching for also. Dual master guitar players in complete synchronization
You can definetly hear what would become riffs you'd later on here in a bunch of oldschool thrash metal like Megadeth and Metallic etc. Cool song too. Really makes me appreciate Maidens skills and long for when music was made with skills and not editing
Después de 9 meses recién veo esta reacción 😅 el trabajo de Harris y Clive Burr es perfecto en todo killers sobre todo en este tema y prodigal son es una delicia prestar atención al bajo y la batería, saludos!!
Great piece! The first 2 studio albums are awesome. I have a soft spot for their theatrical songs (Phantom of the opera and Murders in the rue Morgue). Can't wait to see what's next...
First time listener, beautiful son. Nick have such an amazing natural high when it comes to music. Lex you are in Colorado, you need 2 J and Nick will be able to take you there ! Lol you guys are great !
I'll never forget hearing this the first time and still just inspired by bands that really play the song....even though I've never seen Iron Maiden play this one live. If anyone has please comment.
Now you're teaching me something. Even before you started comparing this song to Rush, I was thinking: "that's the coolest Iron Maiden song I've ever heard". I never really got into Iron Maiden, but then I've never heard one of their songs that sounds like this. Maybe I should check them out. Have you guys heard Def Leppard? They have alot of songs I like, especially early ones.
Bro! Def Leppard is awesome! I got pyromania and Hysteria on cd. Used to have a Pyromania shirt and another Leppard shirt but they got worn out, so I had to retire them 😅
Really for me personally you can't go wrong with any of maidens material in their classics 80's period where it was genuinely just classic album after classic album. For me they went off the boil with later albums though some good individual tracks no where near the consistency of the first 7 albums though now a days I can appreciate these later albums more including the Blaze era which I think isn't there best era by any stretch of the imagination by isn't as bad as many try to make it out to be. They were trying new things and for me it's not bad. For me their best album since the classic period is their last album book of souls which is an great effort from an older band and does have the Red and the Black which for me is their best track post 80's. I love with a passion the D'anno era and I would suggest either the classic phantom of the opera or the song Killers but really any will do. Also Thin Lizzy's Black Rose is a brilliant piece of music, Garry Moore's guitar work is phenomenal
I never got into them as much as other metal bands either. Since this pandemic, living in Michigan we've been shut down a bunch and it's given me more time to revisit bands I missed. Maiden is one of them that I was thrilled I gave more listens to.
Oh do, Ambassadorial Wing! Certainly in their earlier albums they have some of the best examples of twin guitar riff making you'll ever hear - using some quite unique scaling (I've always sworn that Dave Murray used Irish fiddle scales as his inspiration :D).
Er fühlt es gleich wie ich. Dieser Part von Genghis Khan ist die Magie von Maiden. Auch mich hat genau dieser Part am Anfang meiner Maiden-Liebe am meisten angesprochen 😍 und Prodigal Son
She needs to listen to the whole album. Paul is Maiden's best frontman. Iron Maiden and Killers are their best albums by far. Shame how Paul went off the rails.
My favorite Maiden album. Not one track I even come CLOSE to disliking. You can always hear the bass like you say but the guitars make you feel like you're FLYING!
Man! I love later Maiden too..but this is really an entity unto itself. Its probably hands down my favorite album of theirs. They changed quite a bit after this so its kind of a separate band earlier on.
A Genghis Khan reaction!!! Think I'm about to burst into tears.. I believe the Killers album to be a hidden gem as a whole. Anyway, if you truly are into hidden Iron Maiden Gems, don't miss out "Infinite Dreams", "Revelations", "Children of the Damned" or "22 Acacia Avenue"( I could actually mention many more) . None of them are back catalogue, but their not your Fear of the Dark either. But my real petition would be "To Tame a Land", one of my favourites, and completely off the radar. And if you happen to know your "Dune", an absolute must.
Killers is a good album, but when Nr of the beast came, I didn't hear anything else for weeks. It's just that Bruce D. sounded fantastic at this time and the album is full of great new music of which nobody thought, the fans would like and sing it 40 years later ... Run to the Hills, 666 ... Hallowed be thy name... Songs for the eternity
Big Maiden fan since 1981. Can't remember ever hearing Harris mention Geddy Lee as an influence. Lots of other bassists mentioned as influences -- Pete Way, Entwistle, Chris Squire, mostly Brit bands -- but never Geddy. Hope I'm wrong. I don't believe Maiden and Rush have ever crossed paths over the years, concert-wise or in collaboration, which seems strange.
Finally some appreciation for the song Genghis Khan!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for joining us :) - Lex
I love Paul DiAnno era. The first two albums are gems. Steve Harris is a master on bass and a great composer. Greetings from Costa Rica.
This track shows how dynamic Clive Burr really was.
Exactly massive drumer and my favourite always
YES!!! Night and Day from Nicko's style. Too bad he had some personal issues. 1st 3 albums are def my faves and this one most of all.
This was the tune that got me into the band, lifelong obsession followed, those twins axes at the end make me spaff inside my trousers every time I hear it, never skip it. Just awesome
These guys are the ones who got me into history. Really I was never a history guy but listening to Iron Maiden gave me a love for history
Nick has told me the same thing! I need to listen to them more because I’m n much info history either! :P Thanks for watching, Lex
I was in high school when this came out. What a time to be alive!
Wow!! Sounds like an amazing day (to say it lightly). Thanks for sharing! :) - Lex
Cheers folks
Off to listen to the whole Killers album now.....x
first blast-beats in history !!
From the very first album I ever owned in the early 80s. One of my all time favorite albums. Every song is quality.

6:30 I love how the guitar solo pulls her head backwards!
The best Iron Maiden album
Amazing Clive Burr (rip)
The best metal drummer
Después de 9 meses recién veo esta reacción 😅 el trabajo de Harris y Clive Burr es perfecto en todo killers sobre todo en este tema y prodigal son es una delicia prestar atención al bajo y la batería, saludos!!
Losfer Words ( Big 'Orra ) on Powerslave is another instrumental as well. 🤠👍
There's definitely some prog in Iron Maiden. They're such excellent musicians, that prog was going to happen no matter what🤘
Awesome !! I grew up on Maiden. This is their best period in my humble opinion. Review the entire Killers album !
Lexi,
You are correct! That was a very PROG break. Don't let Nick talk you out of it. ;)
Have fun!
Hi Sweetheards, yeah I listen to the Iron Maiden very often, because Nick liked it so much, I learned to love it
This is fun checking out your 'Back catalogue' while you check out Maiden's back catalogue...lol
Great piece! The first 2 studio albums are awesome. I have a soft spot for their theatrical songs (Phantom of the opera and Murders in the rue Morgue). Can't wait to see what's next...

If you close your eyes to this song you can almost see the Mongols and their thousands of horses racing across the steppes. Great bands tell stories.
Caught Somewhere In Time by them!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 Saludos desde Guanatos!!!!
Saludos y lo que daría por una torta ahogada en este momento!! Gracias por tu apoyo, Lex :)
@@NicknLex shhhhhhhh y con su respectiva Coca-Cola!!
Steve Harris is a Prog rock fan.

That is a Heavy Metal Anthem from the Masters . Headbanging on this since 1984. Up the Irons !
Missed you two, another excellent video. I’ve never been big into Iron Maiden tbh, this gives me incentive to go check them out.
Please do Ambassadorial Wing!! They have some amazing music that I am sure you would enjoy!!! Hope you are doing amazing!!! - Nick

My fav bass line to play.
GREAT REACTION THANKS 🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷
Up the Irons🤘🤘🤘 Thanks for watching

No disrespect to Nicko but Clive Burr was their best drummer. Their first two albums are worth listening to for him alone.
Love you guys. Just found you.
For Maiden, my fave is Flash of the Blade. You mentioned Judas Priest: off the beaten path suggestion is The Sentinel.
Oh that's a killer track
My favorite Maiden album. Not one track I even come CLOSE to disliking.
You can always hear the bass like you say but the guitars make you feel like you're FLYING!
Саундтрек на телефоне,именно когда идёт переход песни и многие меня спрашивают вау это что такое,как же классно
Flight of Icarus ! Cool song and vocals
You guys! Upthe Irons!
Sweet to see someone doing a cool Maiden song instead of one of the same old 5-10 worn out reaction songs.
Man! I love later Maiden too..but this is really an entity unto itself. Its probably hands down my favorite album of theirs. They changed quite a bit after this so its kind of a separate band earlier on.

This is an awesome tune. I heard your intro...Did you hear "Flight of Icarus"? Because if not you should. To me, Iron Maiden is Bruce Dickensen.
Here's one: Armored Saint "Chemical Euphoria" (Live On Headbangers Ball)
This was my favorite instrumental from them for so long.
Until I listened to Transylvania
Ain't nothing "first and" about this!
P.s. love the San Dimas back there bra
I'm looking at a slime green one right now but white if I can't get that
Yes I had heard this Hundred of times before. My wife never. Read the description bro. Go with white or natural.
Killers is a good album, but when Nr of the beast came, I didn't hear anything else for weeks. Let's go with some old school Maiden...how about "the Phantom of the Opera?"
Big Maiden fan since 1981. Can't remember ever hearing Harris mention Geddy Lee as an influence. Steve Harris was inspired more by Pete way from UFO .
Just a clue to music...especially rock....BASS follows... drums....remember this...BASS follows drums.....always!!!!!!!!!
It’s strange that you didn’t do a reaction to the criminally underrated song -like a lot of theirsongs- „The Duellists“
They should have done more on this historical series figures. Maybe an entire album. Now only cheesy Sabato deals with these themes
Hey guys. React Savatage- Chance, or gutter ballet
Maiden and Sava are the two bands of my life
The Duellist "Gig Orra" on Powerslave is instrumental.
Yes I used to play that live in a band! Great Tune!
Instrumental song on Powerslave is Losfer Words (Big Orra).
@@jorgepla9577 of course it is. #embarresed. Tbf it has been 30 years since I heard the album.😂
you got to do Phantom of the Opera for sure.
Check out the cover done by Ian Zumback. Such a awesome version of wasted years ! Promise you won’t be disappointed
Deberían reaccionar a Neurosis, “a sun that never sets” es una buena pieza
Epic
Do yourselves a favor and have her react to Alexander the Great, and Rime of the Ancient Mariner. They will change your life
* song..... you must listen a few times to fully enjoy it
Deja vu
Have the lady listen to Tame a Land from Album Piece of Mind
Can you pick out the riff in the second half of the song that Papa Roach ripped off.
What's his name....🤔🤔
STEVE HARRIS.....Remember the name....
Los requiero uy comprt
Maiden became prog after 1999.
I always thought they were stuck on a name for this track and just called it Genghis khan for lack of anything else.
Innocent exile
Iron maiden music is so beautiful that whatever the lyric is irrelevant
C mon irons....
