Always nice to hear some Maiden, especially an instrumental, which doesn't get enough reactions compared to their mainstream songs. You guys are doing a great job choosing some deeper cuts and being diverse in reacting to all kinds of music. I'm enjoying the ride with you both!
Iron Maiden is my favorite band of all time. SO talented! Since you like reacting to songs that are not as main stream you should react to: these from Iron Maiden: Remember Tomorrow, Strange World, both off their first album. Also, one of my favorites is Flash of the Blade from Powerslave! I hope to see you do them!
"Sun and Steel" is my shadow favorite from Piece of Mind...I could never, and still can never! not listen to that at least once a week....I used to play it in my Walkman cassette player walking to my school in 1985.
Props to Nicko's drumming on this instrumental. If you guys at some point end up doing a reaction to Transylvania, you must include Strange World with it, they are linked together. Also, another greatest of Nicko's will be Phantom of the Opera from Live After Death, although Cliff was on drums in the studio version I personally love this one live with Nicko.
An absolutely phenomenal drummer who can hold his own with ANYONE, and if he’d been in anything but a metal band he’d be a household name. Watch some of his videos where he’s teaching or just goofing off and you’ll see just how completely he knows drums and drumming. Plus he seems to be just an absolutely awesome guy, always grinning or smiling and cracking jokes.
Like the love for Steve Harris, but how about some love for one of the most underrated drummers of all time Nicko McBrain? Lars was watching him warmup backstage and was bowing to Nicko. Nicko should be more well known than he is. One of the fastest right feet around. Distinctive style and perfect fit for the band. One of my very early influences on the kit along with Peart, Collins, and Copeland. Thanks Nicko!!!!
Steve Harris gets his sound from the string hitting the fretboard aswell but he also uses flat wound jazz bass strings so that heavily contributes to his sound too.
Yes, I was going to say that he's getting that sound mostly just from the way that he's hitting the strings. It doesn't necessarily have to be over the pickups. You could almost think of it as a "half slap". It's very rhythmic and is definitely a unique identifiable sound for Steve Harris. He was a big influence on me, so that style creeps into mine quite a bit. Nowadays, I play different styles of music and am constantly telling myself to back it off. But my band mates seem to like it. 🤘🏼🎶🎸
@@BigEBass Yeah he's the reason I became a musician but weirdly ended up on drums because of Nicko lol, but yeah he also dosen' pluck the string as everyone else does but as you say sort slaps the two fingers down on the strings & yeah he has a very very unique & recognisable style & sound. The best by far.
And maybe my 2 fave Maiden songs the heavy as but also so smooth Where Eagkes Dare Lex will love the bass on that and Rime of the Ancient Mariner the live video is incredible.
Great choice for Iron Maiden... Powerslave is my favorite Maiden album hands down. Love every song but especially Aces High, Two Minutes to Midnight, the title track and Rime Of The Ancient Mariner. The period from Powerslave to Seventh Son of a Seventh Son is absolutely glorious. Not a bad song on the three albums in that period. It’s definitely their pinnacle or high period but truth be known, I’m a die hard Iron Maiden fan and I pretty much love 95% of their catalog. UP THE IRONS!! 🤘🏼
My neighberhood friends get me into iron Maiden and i bought the cassette powerslave and wow... Awsome. The next album somewhere in time is a masterpiece too must listen. My favorite of the album "stranger in a strange land" . Thanks for your great réaction and the choice of the songs you make.
Maiden always evoke a classical compositional vibe for me. Maybe I can't get away from it as a musician myself but its like a vein of gold through their back catalogue.
What I like so much About your reactions is, that you pick Songs, which have hardly any reaction Videos … just like Losfer words. My personal recommendation from the "2nd Bruce Era" is from the reunion Album Brave New World the song Dream of Mirrors: I like how it's Building up to the climax, having all Maiden Features, the great bass, best galopping Rhythm since Run to the hills, guitar solo, what else do you Need :-)
please do some Neil Young...what an incredible artist...what an incredible career...so many great songs...rockers, blues, ballads, etc....May I suggest three from which to choose: Down by the River; Like a Hurricane; On the Beach
Genial Iron Maiden. Todo el poder del heavy metal clásico !! Les recomiendo reaccionar a Stratovarius. Aquí les dejo tres canciones: Venus in the morning. Emancipation suite 1 & 2. Destiny.
If Mozart composed Metal, you'll have Iron Madien. Try Alexander the Great. Bruce Dickinson is among a great singer, a pilot, fencer, he's a great teacher. 👍
Have you checked the new songs Iron Maiden guitarist (Adrian) has just released? They are truly amazing imo. Here is the link to the song Scars: ua-cam.com/video/VaTl8YNXLtE/v-deo.html
Reluctant to expose you so early in your channels life to the probable comment storm ( about needing to watch the live shows) but if you guys like the more musical side of metal then you have to try Nightwish. If you prefer to do studio versions then ‘Storytime’ from the brilliant album ‘Imaginaerium’ would be a great place to start.
Lex Actually Iron Maiden has 3 guitarists: Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers. They do share leads on their songs. According to Maiden's fans, they are known as "Three Amigos". During the career span of Iron Maiden, Adrian Smith left the band for personal reasons, and band hired Janick in his place. Then Adrian returned to Iron Maiden. Instead of letting Janick go, band kept him making 3 guitars in Iron Maiden.
@@davesheville2023 Thanks I told her a bit more why adrian smith left and janick joined. Adrian Smith solos are among my favorite solos in any musical context. I have some covers of mine on this channel 🤘
Adrian & Dave may not be the most technically skilled players, but nobody, and I mean NOBODY, can touch their playing together. It’s like they share one mind when playing, the rhythm always perfectly complements the solo, and those switch-offs! There are a lot of great guitar duos but nothing like Dave & Adrian.
Nice reaction!! You guys like the blues..if yes react to Beth hart "Am I the one "live at paradiso...in my opinion one of the best live performances Video on UA-cam....stay real and healthy!!!
I hate how many people dismiss or call "filler" songs like The Duellists and Flash of the Blade! For me, they're better and has longer longevity than Aces High or Two Minutes (wich are hits, but are more straight forward and get tired much faster then those other two, maybe beucase they played a lot, people listen to a lot, radios used to play it a lot). Powerslave is the best metal album of all time, and I think that the only song that it's not a 10 out of 10, it's more like an 8 out of 10, it's Back In the Village (but still, a timeless classic).
Steve Harris is the greatest living bass player in metal to me. There’s players than can play faster and more technical but none fulfill the role of propelling a song forward rhythmically and sonically as effectively as Steve in my opinion.
One of my favorite Maiden songs is a deep cut from the album "Piece of Mind." The song is called "Still Life."
Always nice to hear some Maiden, especially an instrumental, which doesn't get enough reactions compared to their mainstream songs. You guys are doing a great job choosing some deeper cuts and being diverse in reacting to all kinds of music. I'm enjoying the ride with you both!
Hacia tiempo que no escuchaba esta cancion grandiosa !! (añorando esos tiempos ) 🤘🤘
Someone has decided to jump into the deep end for their reactions. I like it!
Great song, great band, great reaction. Lex, you are beautiful! Keep it up!
This was the song that got me hooked on Maiden, and the first song I learned how to play on guitar.
Couldn't click fast enough...great stuff folks! My first Iron Maiden Album (still have it...the actual vinyl. It was $7 way back in 85').
i’ve only just found iron maiden but i love the music so much, i’ve already planned to buy tickets to download next year
Ur so lucky! Your wife is gorgeous and digs music!! I'm envious..
Thank you very much!

You just can’t avoid loving this piece of art
lets do some Phantom of the Opera
The Live at Rainbow version from 1979/80 with Di Anno. Also cuz Clive Burr's drums are astounding
Just wandered in here ...love it!
I wish Maiden still released an instrumental once in a while, they're all awesome!
