Brittany Watu Me! Very scared/nervous. Still studying for my DAT.
Good luck! You can do it :D
Thanks! :)
Me!! I’m really scared😭
Thank youuu!! Love u Brittany 💞💞
Through watching your videos I've become increasingly more interested in pursuing a career as a dentist even though I'm only in the 11th grade Lol. Love your videos ♥
It's never too early!
Stephanie Madrigal I’m in 8th and I really want to be an orthodontist
this video came up right on time! thank you!
:D You're welcome
I am. I'm nervous.
So am I! Good luck! :)
Thanks. You too.
Good luck to both of you!
Can't wait to go to dental school but I am barely starting my college career the fall :(
hell yeah, the application just opened this morning. and you look very beautiful.
this is awesome!!!!
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Hey Brittany, I'm in year 9 and was just wondering what marks I should be receiving in order to become a dentist thanks xoxo I love your videos
I'm applying this year! I live in Texas so I probably have a decent chance, but I'm still really nervous!
Best of luck to you!
great insight brittany :) what school do you go to?
I know this is of the subject but can you tell me how many hours a day you spend studying and if you have time for other activities like volunteering. I will be starting school this August and I have all these questions :)
I appreciate it great tips 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for watching :)
Can you go more into detail about dental school? Like how many classes you are taking per semester, what kind of classes, things you have been enjoys vs things about dental school you haven't been enjoying? Also, things no one warned you about dental school? Love your videos!
I usually talk about all those things in my weekly vlogs. Would you like a video that is entirely focused on that?
yes please!
Brittany Watu Yes! I've seen most of your videos and I'm pretty sure you've answered those questions but a video on those would be great! Can you also answer what you would do if you wouldn't have gotten into dental? Or why you didn't chose dental hygiene, just curious ♥️
+Stephanie Lopes I'm planning to do an end of first year reflection video. Hopefully that will answer your questions!
so i have not worked or had a close relationship with any of my profs, will this hurt my application
APPLY EARLY TO ALL PRE DENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!
How many schools does the average pre dent apply to?
What's a good back up plan if someone that majored in Biology (only to pursue dentistry) doesn't get accepted into any dental schools?
I would take a year off and work as a dental assistant to get more experience in the dental field or try to do a Master's degree to raise my GPA. Then, try to apply to dental school again.
Could you do a video on what one should do Incase one doesn’t get accepted to do dental school? Should one work as a dental assistant or try to become a dental hygienist ? Should one retake classes to get the GPA up?
Good idea!
do you have to have all of your required pre- reqs done before applying?
No. I believe you have to finish your pre-reqs before you plan to attend dental school.
Should I apply during Sophomore year (june1) and again on Junior year (June1) just in case i need to apply again? Because I am in Colorado and there is only 1 dental school and I really want to go there :( I don't want to wait a one year gap after i graduate undergrad because I want to graduate fast/ young
If you plan to graduate in 3 years then yes, applying during sophomore year sounds like a good idea! +ياسمين
Do you know if you can have two LORS from two different dentists along with two from professors? Thanks for making your videos; you're such an inspiration :)
+Stephanie Yong the total is three. So you can have any combo of professors or dentists.
Got it! Thanks so much!
Hey i was wondering if you think it'd be a great idea . I was thinking about getting my bachelors degree in physical therapy because I'd only have to take a few other pre-reqs for dental school. I am currently a biology major!
+alandrea Montgomery hi! Are there a lot of differences between biology and physical therapy major requirements?
Hi Brittany, I plan to take my DAT on July and do the application around mid July. Do you think it's too late for the application? I heard that Loma Linda dental school requires religious background, I practice Buddhism, should I apply for Loma Linda? thanks.
No I don't think it is too late but make sure not later than that!
Hey Brittnay, I am sending in my application by early July but I will be sending in my DAT score later around early septemebr. Will that be a problem in getting in?
I think the better you get the scores in, the faster the schools can make a decision!
I had a question about asking for letters of recommendation - I'm going to apply this cycle and I just graduated from college and am on my way to a one year masters program... So should I ask my masters professors for letters, or undergrad professors? Thanks Brittany!
I would ask masters professors, since they are more up to date! Unless you really have had a good relationship with some undergrad professors, then ask them.
thanks girl! I was just afraid of falling into the trap of professors being like... "oh well I don't know you very well" or what not. But I'll definitely ask both! I can surely apply and then ask them during the fall semester, after applying to schools, as long as the letters are in on time? Thanks dude, I'm just freaking out lol
Are the fees universal for all schools? or does each school have their own fee?
+darrell shen each school has their own fee for the supplemental application
Can i get into dental school with a Bachelors degree in dental hygiene or does it have to be science related degree? Thanks for the tips btw!!
Can be anything as long as you finish all the prerequisite courses!
What are the prerequisites for your school?
In general Dental School Requirements include: Chem 1&2, Biology 1&2, Physics 1&2, Organic Chemistry 1&2, Calculus, Statistics, sometimes Microbiology, Genetics, or Biochemistry! Hope that helps!
thank you
