I have aunts that are dentist in Mexico and dentistry has always interested me. Unfortunately, my counselor in Uni let me know that I’d have to start from the bottom again and get a science major. So for the last 3 years I thought my dreams were over and thought this was my life now. I’m going to be 27 years old soon and I feel old but I feel like it’s not too late. I’m so glad to have found out that I don’t have to be a science major to apply to dental school. I just need to take the pre requirements. Thank you!

I am taking the DAT in July because I chose my dental path a little later than traditional pre-dental students, but I have already completed most of my AADSAS app besides my personal statement! I plan on trying to vlog my journey (if I get in) because the tips and behind the scenes look is really helpful :) Keep doing what you're doing :)

I finally got admitted in dental school in Hungary and gonna start on September. I‘m really afraid of one thing and it‘s the LANGUAGE. My English skills are decent, however the medical language/terminology is quite different thing. I assume you did not meed to talk about this problem, because you are a native language, but when you have few tips, would be great. Keep doing the best videos :)) greetings from Syria.

Your channel is super helpful and I’ve watched a lot of your videos :) I do have a couple questions - first, would you recommend taking physics in my senior year of undergrad since physics isn’t on the DAT? I personally think I’m not that good at physics and feel that it will harm my GPA if I take it in my junior year. Will dental schools still look at first/second semester senior grades and calculate them into my science GPA? In addition, I’m thinking of taking a gap year after my undergrad education. Could you tell me what kinds of activities you pursued in your gap year? Did you have to do anything dental-school related (like taking extra courses) during that time, or were you free to pursue activities you wanted to do, like traveling? Also, how would you recommend paying off dental school loans if I were to apply for residency? Does residency provide enough (or any) stipends to cover loan payments? Finally, I personally want to apply to Canadian dental schools like UBC and the University of Toronto because I’m a Canadian citizen and want to open up a dental practice in Vancouver someday, but I heard that admission to these schools is particularly tough for out-of-province applicants. Do American dental schools offer Canadian dental license exam opportunities? And is it possible to apply for residency at a different institution after your main 4 years of dental school? Hi Selena! Thanks for watching my videos! I'll keep these answers short and sweet. Dental schools still review senior grades when they request your final transcript upon admission. If you're worried that physics may harm your GPA, you could hold off until senior year. I took physics in my sophomore year to get it out of the way! I'll be making a video all about my gap year addressing your questions and more so be on the lookout for that! :) Not confident in my answer about paying off school yet because I'm not at the point. Will definitely make videos once I'm there. In Washington, we're allowed to take the Canadian OSCE (licensure exam) but I'm not sure about other dental schools!

Hi! I don't like to give my personal opinion about what you should do, but I'll try to be helpful! If you have already completed your DAT and have letters of rec ready to go, you could def apply this cycle! It costs A LOT to apply though so if you don't feel that you're ready, I would wait it out. I wasn't ready so I took a gap year and applied during my senior year of college. To me, rushing my app wasn't worth it.

I think I'm in a similar position to where you were in the past because it's only in the past year that I've switched from premed to predent. I'm feeling a lot of anxiety because I haven't done much shadowing for dental health professionals and I'm writing a personal statement for this year's cycle, but I'm so convinced I want to become a dentist. I feel as if I don't have reason enough to pursue dentistry because I don't have as much experience. Do you think that shadowing cleared a lot of the doubts that you had?

Hey Laura , I ama 2nd year dental student from India .I was giving the entrance exam for medical (99%applicants does) .The exam is same for dental and medicalI didn't get a medical College. But ,I got admission in country's best dental college. I was happy that I would be a doctor. But, my peers was not satisfied with the course due to less salary and job ratio. My excitement for the dentistry was lowered by them. Even I stopped focusing on my practicals too.But after watching your vlogs, i am loving it. Thank you so much for the videos.

Orthodontists go through dental school first, then a 2-3 year ortho residency afterwards :)
