I just started studying for the DAT (early Feb atm) and I am in dread because I want to take it in late May/early June to apply for dental school in time for enrollment (June/August??). And I feel so hopeless and daunted by the material, even though I know I am capable and this is all stuff I've learned before... But I am panicking and wondering if I just don't have it in me anymore. I feel like I don't have enough time to study, so hearing that you spent a month studying really makes me feel better, and I know if I start now I won't wind up studying as much like a maniac later so THANK YOU.
Yes! The application opens in the beginning of June, so the only thing is you should aim to submit it that same summer. It allows you to enter information, save, and come back and edit. But once you submit you can’t edit anymore.
I was wondering if there is a certain cycle that we should keep in mind when applying for dental school, similar to medical school. Is there a certain period that we need to apply and submit our application? Should we take the DAT first then add it to our application?

Divya Nakhye that is wonderful! To apply to a university as an undergraduate student here in the states, I think the only exam you need is the SAT :) does that answer your question?

Hey :) Each dental school has their own deadline, some as early as October and some as late as February. When you open your AADSAS application you will be able to see the deadline for each school, or you can check the school’s website directly. Hope that helps 🙏

Started studying in June and took it in August

Can I start the application in AADSAS and fill it up little by little?

How many years u needed to complete ur prerequisite classes and when u started ur dental school??
Usually it takes 4 years. Some people can get them done in less tho!

when is recommended year to test DAT? like in summer after Junior year or after senior year
I think summer after junior year is ideal, but after senior year/a few months before you apply is fine too.
Is applying for dental school in late July too late?
Not at all! The sooner the better but I think late July is still good 👍
