I've been listening to that song for 30 years and I still get shivers...
he was very ill when he did the vocals. Guitarrist Brian May thought Freddie would not be able to do the vocals. Freddie just took a drink of vodka and pull out the vocals in one take. God bless his soul.
Freddie did NOT record the vocal track for this song in one take.
@@RoverWaters that's what I read
@@RoverWaters here is the link were May is quoted as saying that Freddy did it in one take. Nevertheless if the information in the link is inaccurate , Freddie still pulled this great song in the last stages of his disease , which is something incredible. www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/comments/1fy1ej/til_freddy_mercury
@@2021ruber lol reddit! whats next, facebook?
Fake garbage for likes views and subscribers...
@@RoverWaters that's ok I see your point. One can say the same from Wikipedia.Regardless ,Freddie did put out one his greatest performances when he was in the last stages of Aids in a period were the medical treatment for such disease was not as advance as it is now. Freddie had an amazing willpower. Thanks
Queen - Who Wants To Live Forever
This!
That song never fails to mess with my head... Love it.
Nooo! It's mawkish
Awesome!
+++
Freddie's vocals are HAUNTING in this; this song is PURE Emotion
I know right I get goosebumps every time
What can we said after this Song ??? just thank you and rest in peace Freddy we love you for ever !
It's not Freddie's last song. That's Mother Love. He couldn't even finish it. He said during recording that he needed a rest and would finish it later on, but it never came to it. Brian May recorded the last verse.
but he pretty much knew what will happen soon and just worked till the very end. whether this was or wasn't his last song it's very telling
Yeah, Freddie recorded the footnote whispering mother love early on as he knew he wouldn’t finish the track so they could use it at the end. Such an amazing gut wrenching track. Once again Freddie’s vocals are incredible despite the pain he must have been in.
cadet Such a big loss. So tragic. There’s no one like Freddie. 😥
@@sodapop83 Oh, he wasn't the only one knowing what was going on. The lyrics (and main musical structure) of The Show Must Go On were actually written by Brian. But he was obviously thinking of Freddie and it's clear that he really connected with the song.
I think this song.... Freddie meant this song to be his true Swan Song; the message behind it..... This is Freddie going out on HIS TERMS
He is the greatest vocalist ever for me, such a power of expression on his voice. Please continue reacting to queen, Who Wants to Live Forever.
Brilliant crescendo to a talented life that could soar the human spirit. Masterful performance.
This is one of the saddest songs ever written, ever sung, with such a tragic and powerful story.
When you think that he gave everything he had left when he sung what you hear on that track and a few weeks after that, he was gone.
Such a beautiful tearjerking song.
No, he recorded it over a year before he died.
I cannot believe she said what is it about?
Nina Yeah, unbelievable. But she seems very uninterested.
@@bluelion1995 I don't know why they bother. just for the views, I suppose.
SWEET!
After 100000 times i've listened to this song, i still have goosebumps every time.
Yeah one shot of vodka, and then the vocals in one take. That is the legend we all know as Freddy Mercury. Gods bless his gifted soul.
Freddie did not record this song in one take, that would have been stupid anyway
@@RoverWaters tell that to Brian May. He was the one who came up with that story. So, goodbye.
no you stupid, Brian never said that, go and learn better english
@@RoverWaters you're a fucking dumb ass
I join Rover I think he one shotted the high note in song and then someone cameraman or someone said that "ONE SHOTTED IT" then everyone thought he one shotted the song and members didnt want to change this legend in my opinion. Thats all my opinions.
After they released Innuendo in February 1991 they decided to record as many songs as possible considering the state Freedie was in. So the last song Freddie composed is A Winter's Tale and the last one he sang was Mother Love. Both incredibly beatiful
No one have and no one will be able to replicate Freddie's voice.
This is what I read about this song. Freddie knew he was dying and he knew that he didn't have long to live So this was his message to his band members and all the fans around the world to let them know that even though it hurts to accept the fact that he's going to die very soon, no matter what, you must keep moving forward and most importantly, the show must go on. Very sad. R.I.P to the legend. Gone too soon.
My favourite song ever, period. And I absolutely agree that it evokes a feeling you can’t quite put your finger on, a sort of melancholy triumph in the face of death. Religious or not, that’s a sensation that must resonate powerfully with any listener.
Freddie Mercury was a musical genius!
Irreplaceable! Legendary!
Редкие люди,которые дослушали гимн до конца... Благодарю... Безо всяких реплик... Нельзя прерывать подобные песни.
"Only the good die young" is a song written for Freddie after he died. It's incredibly emotional and since you noticed at the Somebody to Love video that the drummer and guitarist can sing, this is a good way to hear them too.
*SERIOUS RECOMMENDATION* as it's an incredible send of to the most incredible vocalist and performer there ever was. Just warning you to not cry though, it's a toughie.
It's also the only song Queen recorded as a 3 piece.
Mother love is though to listen too, maybe more...
No one but you*
Another queen classic. They were such an amazing band. It's great that they are such love from all the new pple discovering the these days. It's great they deserve a lot of credit for the music today. 👍👍
Fitting to this is Queen - Innuendo
Kind of the 2nd Bohemian Rhapsody
Yes, Innuendo is a great song musically and lyrics are great as well. It is masterpiece that is overlooked to often. Freddie also sings amazingly on that song. There are many others such The White Queen live at the Hammersmith Odeon.
They are both special and kind of unique.
It's better than Bohemian Rhapsody to me too. If you guys do end up doing a reaction, definitely try to react to the video too, because it is also pretty amazing.
@@KabukiKid I agree.
@@KabukiKid Yes, ..... well ..... the video is facinating, very entertaining, but not entirely relavant to the lyrics. Don't let it distract you from the song. Have it running for the lyrics, but LISTEN.
My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairy tales of yesterday will grow but never die
I can fly my friends.
One of my fav lyrics!
Referencing the lyrics from My Fairy King from their first album (someone has drained the color from my wings and broken my fairy circle ring)
This is my favorite band no one can top them even now.
Its heartbreaking that he had to prop himself up to sing this but still hit those notes. RIP Freddie.
isnt this the track he did in one take?with 1 big gulp of vodka!Brian May mentioned it im sure!

This Was the First Song that Came Into My Head When My Mum Died
Always Give Me Goosebumps and Tears ,A Very Personal Tune and
Emotional Too Epic !!
From Wiki: "The Show Must Go On" is a song by the British rock band Queen, featured as the twelfth and final track on their 1991 album Innuendo. It is credited to Queen, but written mainly by Brian May. The song chronicles the effort of Freddie Mercury continuing to perform despite approaching the end of his life, although his diagnosis with HIV/AIDS had not yet been made public in spite of ongoing media speculation claiming that he was seriously ill. Mercury was so ill when the band recorded the song in 1990 that May had concerns as to whether he was physically capable of singing it. Recalling Mercury's performance, May states; "I said, 'Fred, I don't know if this is going to be possible to sing.' And he went, 'I'll fucking do it, darling' - vodka down - and went in and killed it, completely lacerated that vocal"
but not in one take, as this would be ridiculously and stupidly unprofessional
@@RoverWaters stfu already.
Rover Waters Fucken drop kick!
This song always made me think of my mother, when she had cancer. How hard she fought, but sadly lost in the end. She always encouraged me to live my life. I didn't want to leave her, in fear of losing her. Afraid something might happen if I went anywhere. She and I lived together and I just didn't want to leave her. She told me, Kim, I want you to live your life, you can't stop living it because your are worried about me. She was brave and strong. This song reminds me of her. It always brings me to tears, but at the same time, it gives me strength.
Freddie's voice had such strength in it. The lyrics are inspiring. One of my all-time favorite Queen songs. Hope you had a great Easter, Vin and Sori.
I allways have chills when I see the video of "These are the days" (the last shots of him). Every time when he at the end says "I love you" direct into the camera, I can't hold my tears back... The awesomeness of Freddie is shown, that he recorded songs as long as he was able to do it. He once said to his bandmembers "I don't have much time, write me songs..."
Goosebumps..everytime I listen to it...
To quote one of my favorite movies, "The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long - and you have burned so very, very brightly"... seems quite fitting in relation to Freddie, and this song which is a fantastic example of just how bright his candle burned. At a time when his health was very quickly failing, he gave it his all and produced a masterpiece.
The best song of theirs I'd say... gets me every time...that range!
My sympathy for your cousin lost. It is a very spiritual commentary you are having there. Very interesting and inspiring. Glad to see you are back with Queen, this song makes me cry evertime, they had some tearjerker like : in my defence, too much love will kill you, who wants to live forever but the top one is the one the three guys did after he passed away : only the good die young. He was loved and I do hope he found peace.
Please react to No one but you by Queen, it’s a tribute to Freddie and I cried when I saw the music video for the first time..
Who wants to live forever and Too much love will kill you is also big tearjerkers
Queen - These Are The Days Of Our Lives official video.
i think These Are The Days video was his official good bye to his fans. Still hard not to tear up when i hear it.
It was the last thing he filmed, and it was done in black and white to try to hide just how ill he really looked. The colour footage out there is even more shocking to see, every time he says "I still love you" it just breaks my heart
@@boltoniangirl It makes me cry every time I see it because we know now how sick he was etc. but all we knew then as something was very wrong
How he sounded that good in his condition still blows my mind.
so many queen songs are amazing. this, mother love, innuendo.the ones he made near the end like these have a higher significance , meaning.
Every time i hear this song, i get goosebumps. The lyrics and story behind the song is amazing.
Freddie was in his last days of life, and the band wasn't even certain he could do this song due to his illness. He did it and needless to say it's unbelievable. Probably one of my fastest clicks on your reactions.
Edit: I did my comment before watching the reaction. I was on the verge of tears as usual! What a powerful song. By the way, that was not the last song he recorded, but it was one of the latest yes.
There is one song called Mother Love. He was recording it, and didn't feel good. He told the rest of the band he wanted to rest and would come the next day to finish it. He never did :'(
The saddest thing in the world is that there is no live performance of this song. Freddie never lived to sing it on stage. One can only imagine how beautiful it would be. Recorded in one take after a shot of vodka by someone who remained an artist until the end.
The shear power in his voice so close to the end is astounding
This is the voice of a dying man and he did it in one take!
this song goes so deep freddie forever and always in our hearts
Thank you so much for reacting to my favorite Queen song. Looking forward to it 😊
Vocals recorded in one take! Freddie was so sick and ill. He drank a shot of vodka and nailed it. Genius
STFU
Freddie Broken my Heart Miss You Forever My 👼
Freddie Legends Mercury Forever

Queen-You don't fool me, please!
greatest Brian May guitar solo, ever
@@RoverWaters ONE of the greatest to be precise (my opinion)
I've heard that this vocal performance was one take, amazing!!
you heard wrong
According to Jim Hutton Freddie believed in God, prayed every night and was very tranquil leading up to his death. ❤️✝️
Wonderful reaction and a wonderful couple! God bless you!
It always amazes me how some artists (Freddie, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Lemmy etc...) who know they’re dying feel that creative urge before they pass; like, they need to get that last part of themselves out before the end.
Best Queen song. And the story around it just artistry in a nutshell.
Who Wants To Live Forever, gets you right in the feels. Freddie wrote many great songs. But this one gets me every damn time. Happy Late Easter.
Brian wrote that song.
The last song he sang, was Mother Love, but the last song that he wrote, called A Winter's Tale! These songs came out after his death!!!
I'm so sorry Vin 💔😢, also listening to this being one of Freddie's last sounds makes me cry. It's hard to lose the ones we love, but thank God they were here to fill our lives with such happiness , no matter how short or long they were here
by far my favorite queen song so happy you guys did this one!!
Roger Taylor (The Drummer) said they was afraid that Freddie won't be able to finish the recording of Innuendo (the name of that album) by the way you have to react to that song too. So, he was very ill, very frigile, but he delivered his art for that album and left another tracks they used later in Made in Heaven album and the recent song, Time Waits for No One!
Innuendo is considered one of the darkest albums of Queen.
This is Freddie's last song to us. He gave all he had leaving no doubt he is the best vocal talent that has graced this world. I've listened to this song a hundred and his passion in his voice always gives me chills especially the ending. Long live Queen ✌❤
Queen - 'I Want It All'. A later anthem but one of their best.
The last song Freddie Mercury recorded was " Mother Love". It was released in 1995 on Queen's album "Made in Heaven"...which Queen made with previous recordings of Freddie that never saw the light of day. It is very heartbreaking as he was very sick at that time, kept recording to his end, and he needed to take a break from recording and never returned to the studio. Brian May had to sing the last verse because of it. One of Queen's most heartbreaking songs, in my opinion.
everytime i hear this songs it give me the chills , so much emotion
Brian wrote the song, it was about Freddie dying and how he was still continuing to work right up to the end. He actually thought it was a little too on-the-nose with the subject matter (and as others have said, would be too hard for Freddie to sing with how ill he was), but Freddie had really pretty much accepted his upcoming death (as shown with the song Was It All Worth It on The Miracle album) and told Brian it was great and he would do it. Beautiful and powerful song about accepting what’s to come.
Great reaction. You have to watch the video for “These Are The Days of Our Lives”, that was the last music video he filmed and it’s a definite goodbye to the fans.
I’ll face it with the grin!
I’m never giving in!
On with the show!!!!
One of Queen's most emotional songs! This was basically Freddie's swansong. His singing was absolutely amazing on Queen's last album, during this time. He really did some of his best vocals on death's door, this song is one such an example. Freddie is irreplace, Queen has released two albums after this album, but it has never been the same. What is left of Queen have sung with other frontmen such as Paul Rogers and Adam Lambert at the moment, but they are more like a tribute band at this stage. These guys just don't have Freddie's charisma.
Such heavenly voice!
I never heard this song until I saw Bohemian Rhapsody but after seeing the movie I realized how beautiful and powerful this song is. Great work as always guys.
Vin and Sori, please do "You take my breath away live at Hyde Park 1976". I discovered this song some days ago, it totally blew me. You will witness Freddie's pure talent, so emotional.
Truly one of bravest performances recorded while he was dying.. 💯❤️🤘..vin and sori be blessed today
Bless you guys! Thank you it's been a tough day, this song always makes me emotional.. let it all out haha
This is what Queen songs are for, to interpret and enjoy. Congrats and thanx. That the interpretation and most assumptions were technically wrong in most ways is beside the point, Freddie wanted anyone to interpret anything into any song they released. He said this many times.
Freddie had an amazing talent and he burned really bright at the end. I use to think about the last Queen albums and how outstanding those are. He just knew, he will die soon and that gave him incredible power to create music that will stand the test of time. He will be remembered as one of the best musicians of the XX Century.
This song got me through my performing arts course at college. The best queen song ever.
Love this song! I sometimes listen to it 4+ hours on repeat.
"These are the days of our lives" and "Who wants to live forever"
The music video for These Are The Days of Our Lives is hard to watch. Freddie's condition was so deteriorated.
I so appreciate that you do not constantly interrupt the music and wait............for the reactions. Thank You.
These are the days of our lives is his last one I think. Look up that video you guys seriously. Very moving.
Death does not win! Yeah! Run outta that tomb!! FM's attitude about living and his peace as he headed closer to death is inspirational.
This song puts shivers through me. Beautiful and haunting at the same time. Such a talent lost, we need need to find a cure to this awful disease now.
Please guys....if you liked this one go for the official video.."days of our live" i think that's the name of the song....he was practically saying good bye on that video.😔😔😔
Just mentioned that one aswell
Written by Brian May, it's about watching Freddie create as much music as he could, while struggling with being very ill; knowing he was going to die. My smile still stays on!!! Badass!!!!
Hi guys,
Freddie wrote and sang a number of songs nearly four to five months or even closer to his death. His music was something that he was so passionate about that he chose to make music right up to the very end-- I think it gave him purpose to push through a lot of his difficult moments near the end of his illness. Mother Love was his very last song, he didn't even get to finishing it before he passed away-- I would highly recommend you watch that, and also-- please, please react to the official music video Those Were the Days of Our Lives-- as Freddie literally says good bye to his audience at that time in the actual song; and it was the last video he was seen in (he died six months later). A very strong, beautiful soul. Thank you for the great reaction video.
The Best ability of Freddie was to sing almost to the point that he died.he had said his goodbye's even to the fans in the song These are the days of our lives. At least that is what many fans believe.I like to believe he faced death with his head up like the brave soul he was.A incredible talent gone way to soon and that will be missed forever.
My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die
I can fly my friends.
Breaks my heart every single time. That's how I picture him in my mind.
Keep going with Queen, we love it. Try Invisible man, One Vision, Break Through, Who Want to Live for Ever and Live Aid
He was so weak he couldn't even stand during the recording of this album. Yet his vocals remained as powerful as ever! Long Live Freddy!
I love your reactions to Queen, and they have so many other good songs. You should listen to Save Me, Who Wants to Live Forever, It's a Hard Life, You Take My Breath Away (live at Hyde Park 1976). These are just a few of their really beautiful songs.
Also The White Queen live at Hammersmith Odeon, and It's Late, of course there are many others.
@@ZENOBlAmusic Yes they have so many amazing and beautiful songs :) I LOVE White Queen and It's Late
What can you say about Queen that hasn't been said...one of the best all around bands ever.
TheSpacemannspiff One of the best? THE BEST!
You should listen and react to A Winters tale. Again one of the last songs Queen recorded. Beautiful song and lyrics reflecting on life. One of my personal favourites.
I salute the empathy that showed in your face around verse 2 as the implications of the lyrics hit you.
You need to check Queen live aid! Medley 5 songs! Noted as one of the greatest performance of all time from a rock band!
He kept the Aids to himself for years, he did a press release literally the day before he died stating that he had aids. If you go back and watch the video you can see how much weight he lost but he still had his voice, Maybe a reaction to At Wits End by Dream Theater just a great new song. Thanks guys you rock
5:56 is my favourite part of the song. He must have been so weak and frail recording this but his voice is so powerful and he hits the notes amazingly. That D5 is practically impossible for most male singers to reach and yet he does it.
"I'm Going Slightly Mad" from Innuendo. The man even had a sense of humour about his last days. Incredible.
It's such a shame that he died from something that could have been prevented should he have gotten it a few years later. If he did he would still be around and Queen would still be making music, they were very prolific.
Freddie's last appearance was these are the days of our lives.. His goodbye to his fans... A very sad touching and emotional song, hard to watch but it shows what a beautiful man he was up to the end.. I miss him so much
One of the greates songs in human history.
They released one more record with Freddie in 1994, during the last few months of his life, after the release of Innuendo, there were unfinished tracks that the rest of the band finished over the next 2 yrs. it includes the last song he ever recorded called Mother Love, it is on the final album Made in Heaven, another good album, check it out.
Sorry, don't want to sound pedantic, but it was 1995.
Legend has it that he was very ill the day he recorded this, Brian May asked him if he wanted to do it. Freddie said Fuck it, ill do it, threw down a vodka and nailed this vocal in one take.
fake story
the important thing is his courage and what he left behind for us this is what a true hero is i will love you forever Freddy
Written by guitarist Brian May, it was the last track on their last album whilst Freddie was still alive.
This song was actually written by Brian May with Freddie in mind.
Please react to who wants to live forever, which has an orchestra and a choir as well as Lead vocals from Brian and Freddie.
Sharon Laplace I have now realised that I made a mistake.
Thank you for correcting me.
