No doubt you should always take your car to a reliable mechanic to check it out for you. But that still cost money, so you need to be absolutely convinced the car is worth it anyway. In here you'll find everything you need to build up a strong CaseFile around any car which is tempting.

For those watching this video, checking the oil level should be done after the car ran for a while, oil temp reached optimum, and the car was left to cool down for 10 minutes. Then you can check the oil, that's how Mazda engineers are recommending to check the oil level properly.

cold check is useful to make sure there is sufficient oil to start the engine at the very least

I am not sure your assesment is correct just because of the paint and the fogged up lights. I know old people cars that were parked on the street that show the same kind of tear and wear on the paint and lights.
The other things are defenitely tell signs but just the paint and espacially on Mazdas is not a real tell sign.

ShowCare Mtl Qc thanks for your reply i really appreciate it. Just one more question: do spare parts cost more than that of a honda or a nissan or toyota?

I have noticed that aftermarket parts for these cars all cost about the same price range. Now OEM parts should not be much different i guess.
