The prequels could have done without jar jar and the movies would have been a 1000 times better. As for Lucas selling to Disney. Disney was the Sith Lord in hiding in this case.
Every human who ever criticized the politics in these films owes George Lucas a heartfelt, sincere apology. I will start. I'm sorry, George. You were right.
Mecha Salesman has an excellent 4 1/2 version. It contains these delete scenes and more plus the Clone Wars final 4 episodes in it's entirety edited in chronologically. It's really great. There is also a little 2003 Clone Wars in there as well to flesh out the Battle of Coruscant! It's all quite glorious!
What is really interesting is that in The Mandalorian we are greeted with the notion that maybe The Rebellion are not the good guys after all. This reflects life all too well. So many people out there think they are fighting the good fight against what they hate, little knowing that they are manipulated into fighting FOR what they despise. Those at the top always have very sinister ways with powerful tools to keep hold of power, and know exactly how to play the masses.
That is simply not the case. It’s as plain as knowing whats right and whats wrong, whats good and whats bad “for the people”. All they were trying to show in S1 of The Mandalorion is that if you lean too far one way and focus on one aspect, in the Rebellions case “preserving the peace”, then you essentially have blinders on and cant see the bigger picture.
@@smokeythagamer8521 Concepts such as right and wrong, good and bad are matters of opinion. They are not based on anything matter of fact. @@ArcanePath360 nah i'm pretty sure totalitarianism and imperial colonization are literally wrong and bad lol "the transatlantic slave trade is just an opinion, britain may have been the good guys!"
One of the problems with the prequels is the whole force language starts to sound idiotic. Any fool can see that the chancellor is moving to consolidate power. It doesn’t take Jedi clairvoyance to see that and yet the Jedi are blind or inept or both throughout their chess match with Palpatine. That includes Yoda.
It's what inevitably happens when you become too dependent on a thing. You become unable to make the simplest and most obvious decisions once that thing doesn't work for you anymore.
Technically mace Windos desire for the chancellor to immediately end the war after grievous is destroyed is a little bit of a ludicrous thing to say because no war just ends because someone who is in charge of it gets taken out. there's a wind down oeriod, same with starting a war. That ultimately leads to stragglers still fighting that have to be eliminated etc etc. this war would have probably stretched on another 6 months or so realistically
Yes, and what's so great to analyze is that the Jedi were out of place, they were never meant for politics and never meant to be generals leading armies. There place was always away from government, so their judgement would not be clouded. Ultimately they got too comfortable in their high positions of power and couldnt sense danger because they had lived 1,000 years of peace.
👏👏👏👏👏👏 Well done. You've just earned a new subscriber. And Lucas has been warning us since before Star Wars. 'THX 1138' was 'The Matrix' before The Matrix. 😉

0:07 I kinda love how Tarkin just walks away from Vader and Palps, with that eerie look on his face like: ‘Can’t believe you mfs are actually building this thing’
And yet we are living this right now, as we speak. The saying "Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it" doesn't even apply any more, as you can even show thinly veiled examples in movies like this, and people STILL can't see it when it happens in real life.

This movie is actually full of political statements that fit it's time. After 9/11, as George Bush (Jr.) government started to come up with ways of sacrificing freedom in the name of security, then orchestrated the invasion of Iraq with no justification, mass protests broke out all over. He gave his famous anti-democracy speech "if you are not with us, you are against us" while this movie was in production. @naofumi5616 I understand that people feel neglected by the Democrats and there is some truth. But you have elected a man, who want absolut power. Just wait 2 months, then we will know who is right
The Jedi trying to arrest Palpatine was exactly what he wanted and the Jedi played right in to his hands. It was the perfect chess move to wipe out his most dangerous opposition while consolidating his power within the Republic to transform it in to the Empire and they didn’t even see it even though it was right in there face. Had the Jedi been consulted by the uprising that would eventually become the Rebel Alliance they could have fought back the tide of Order 66 or at the very least fell back and pulled the Jedi Order in to hiding until they thought out a strategy to fight with the Rebels. They could have very well regained control of the Universe had they done that and gone down a more strategic route of hitting key targets such as weapons bases, arms manufacturers constructing the Death Star and Star Destroyers that were valuable to the Empire which in turn would of frustrated Vader and Palatines effort’s of complete domination.

1:31 that idea makes little sense. That is like saying that if one general dies then the whole thing is over. That’s not how it happens. Another will rise to take his place. It is up to the side that lost that leader to determine whether or not to continue a fight. You carry on a war until there is decisive victory or failure.
You are correct, but you can’t deny the blow to the war effort that Austrian painter’s assassination would have had (as an example). Or Mao or Genghis Khan. When the ones fighting are doing so based on the faith in their leader, taking out a key figure can break their back because it can cause a power vacuum and civil war. In Star Wars, killing the Chancellor would have demonized the Jedi for some time but they would have ultimately been able to consolidate that power as the peacekeeping force while a new Chancellor is elected.
Not on that case. After Count Dooku's death, the Separatists were already over. Senators wanted to negotiate terms of peace, yet Palpatine declared that this War willbe over after the destruction od Grievous. So, after that Palpatine would be forces to give up his emergency powers, and that could be over for him. He possibly wouldnt be able to execute order 66, as he woudnt be a highest commander of the Clone Army.
It’s very interesting how Lucas used historical references/inspiration in his stories. Palpatine used his govt enforcers behind the scenes for influence and created wars to enable the building of the republic army. Reminds me of the Ukraine situation. Covid was also a way for certain states/cities to enact insane controls over people, which we now know was paid for and researched by our own govt. The governors in Star Wars were also later installed by palpatine. The people didn’t get to vote for those positions. Always interesting to see how real life is injected into science fiction.

The Mandalorian was DEIsney Star Wars, not canon.

One of the problems with the prequels is the whole force language starts to sound idiotic. Any fool can see that the chancellor is moving to consolidate power. It doesn’t take Jedi clairvoyance to see that and yet the Jedi are blind or inept or both throughout their chess match with Palpatine. That includes Yoda.

this is a blueprint of what is going on in our own world at the moment

I feel like some of the deleted scenes could have made for really good usage in a show like "Andor".
