I agree about adding depth; the lightsaber I assume the setup is Jango realized his jetpack just failed him and instinctively activates Anakin's lightsaber to block Mace's strike. Mace is taken aback, and Jango actually manages to duel with him briefly, but Mace is just way too good. Mace then gives Anakin his lightsaber back. If you wanna talk depth, Jango has a long history of getting screwed by the Jedi, so in his mind while this is happening, he thinks it would be sweet irony to take one down using their own sacred weapon.
@@nahor88 he could have also sliced through Anakin’s lightsaber while disarming Jango to keep with the current continuity of Anakin needing to build the one he has for Episode three and beyond
agree. I was under the impression that the Mandalorians were pretty much the only thing that gave the Jedi pause and these deleted scenes would've confirmed it when you had one go toe-to-toe with Mace Windu.

it's funny how the deleted scenes from Attack of the Clones consistently seem better than what they left in. My go-to example is always the scenes at Padme's family home on Naboo, which show more of Padme as an actual person and provides a great deal more context to the growing relationship with Anakin. And it has none of the cringeworthy dialogue we got in the final cut.
Haters can spit on Prequels all they want, but the trilogy is fantastic. ROTS seems to have rushed things a bit, but all three episodes-TPM, AOTC, and ROTS-connected well and flowed beautifully.
It could have been a vibroblade and that would have been way more epic. Showing a Mando had the tools to directly compete with a Jedi would have been so much better then just stealing a lightsabe.
Lucas didn't like the idea. He wanted to keep the lightsaber as a sort of sacred weapon that nothing could really compete with. Which is why pre vizsla in the clone wars was given the darksaber. It was created to appease Lucas's dislike of vibroblades.

I had no idea what you were talking about, so had to look it up. In a cartoon, he does this, yes. But in general the majority of people who like the Star Wars films, have not seen much or any of the animations because they were aimed at children. It's one of the reasons I missed most of them, because I was out at work when they were shown, here in the UK.
So this whole video is based on speculation and assumption, and not an actual deleted scene. Great. Smart of you to put that little tidbit at the end, made me watch pretty much the whole way through before realizing there was no deleted lightsaber fight between Jango and Mace.
@StarWarsAnalyst But it wasn't filmed. It's not a deleted scene, it was never filmed, and the fight was never a part of the original script. You took one written scene--that was also never filmed--and speculated what could possibly have happened based on that. There is no deleted scene because there was never even a written scene.
All of this made me forget that Anakin's lightsaber gets cut in half during the factory scene. All of this posed a problem for me, because the hilt was basically useless, they'd have no reason to confiscate it, so presumably, both pieces are still down in the factory at the time of the film's ending. So, I wonder when and how long it took Anakin to go down into the factory and recover both pieces of the lightsaber to repair it. It probably didn't take long as the Kyber-Crystal probably called-out to him. However, in this proposed ending where the Saber survived and was confiscated by Jango...this presents just as much if not a _bigger problem_ for Anakin to recover it. Let's say that Jango had it on him when Mace decapitated him. Unless Anakin had enough foresight to recover it from his dead body during the fight - and the film suggests that he didn't - then it would still be on Jango's person when the battle was over... _Boba_ is left on the scene and takes Jango's body and buries it. He'd most likely discover the lightsaber and take it for his own. After all, he just watched a Jedi kill his father, so now he'd have a weapon that he could fight Jedi with. And I'd say that Boba is probably one of the hardest people in the galaxy to track down, especially when he was a kid.
I'm assuming Nick just had a lighsaber to make it easier to show Sam Jackson the moves without them having to pass one back and forth. Jango Fett would be so inexperienced with a lightsaber that he would be foolish to try and weild one against someone of Mace's power. I see his last few moments as him being resigned to his fate and trying a last few shots from his trusty blaster out of desperation.
Jango was the best bounty hunter in the Universe, a combat expert and killed many Jedi. Mace was far better at lightsaber combat than any other Jedi, so he was caught off guard.
What we got was the director's cut. Lucas didn't need to answer to anyone, because he funded the whole thing out of his own pocket. The prequels were essentially the biggest budget independent films ever made. (Don't know if that record still holds, but it probably does.)
I used to really not look hugely forward to watching this film, but man these last few years and viewings of seeing it again and again, it has really become one I look forward to. I just really enjoy the feeling of this movie and it's also very important for the story and Anakin's character. Good stuff.
I'm gonna disagree a bit on this one; Gillard wasn't weilding a lightsaber, he was HOLDING it (and doing so with the blade, not the hilt). That wasn't a duel or practice thereof, it was him holding a prop while instructing how to slice and dice. Also, Jango wouldn't be able to wield a saber worth a whit- not up to Padawan levels even. Setting aside the "need Force to use LS effectively" part, Jando wasn't a bladesman; he was definitely a ranged fighter. Mace vs Jando with a lightsaber? That'd just be sad.
It always felt that there was more to Dooku than what was revealed in the movies. He wasn't a true Sith, rather he was more of a neutral idealist, wanting to bring down the corrupt Republic and Jedi. He aligned himself with the Sith only to gain the upper hand, and would have probably turned on Palpatine once his goals were met.
The novel was plenty expanded. I remember it described how Clieg Lars lost his leg to a hidden wire trap set by the Sand People, and another scene, where Jango takes Boba fishing and teaches him how to shoot straight. A good book - better than the film.
This also means that the lightsaber Anakin had in Ep II would have been the one that Luke eventually inherits, instead of getting destroyed and Anakin having to build an identical one for continuity.
_"How could a Mandalorian bounty hunter pass up on a free lightsabre? I honestly don't think anyone could."_ [Cue product spot.] That was pretty smooth. 😉 Obviously, I haven't seen a finalised version of the slower/more political stuff (because no-one has) but I do think it's interesting. It does add depth and nuance. Thanks for sharing it. I have also always found the droid factory sequence a bit tedious. It looks exactly like what it is: something added as an afterthought with the actors jumping around a green/blue set with no real idea where they are or what they are doing because they have no real reference points. In fact, the first time I saw it, I assumed that it was essentially a straight up video game advert. It's just so platform gamey! What's more, I didn't really feel any tension or danger from it: there is no real character challenge, other than Anakin and Padme versus the highly contrived and illogical factory conveyor belt. Because that doesn't feel particularly real, I always just want the scene to get to the end so that we can get back to the interesting stuff again. Also, without the factory scene, Artoo wouldn't have had his (frankly, unconvincing) flying scene, leaving us wondering why there had been no hint of any astromech droids flying in any of the previous movies up to that point, not even the one actually on screen and flying right there. I'm ambivalent about the cheesy Threepio head-swap that also happens in the factory. It's a bit slapstick and cringe, but it doesn't bother me that much. I guess some people like it. For me, the whole scene is a clunky "filler" that adds very little, doesn't look particularly convincing or realistic and introduces some of the lowest (albeit in a minor way) points of the movie. So, yeah, I understand the pacing concerns, and GL is probably right that Obi-Wan being missing for an extended time wasn't the best but, on balance, I think I'd rather have had the character building and political nuance instead of the droid factory - but with different tweaks to fix the problems. It would feel more mature IMO. It could also be perceived as boring though, so I get that. I also think that, maybe, having the droids merely hinted at, and then suddenly appearing in such large numbers, might have had more shock value than us literally being shown that they are making thousands of droids and there essentially being no "tada!" reveal moment because we knew the droids were there and were going to show up at some point. But, I guess other people like the droid factory. As ever, it's all a matter of taste. Definitely a video worth watching. Thanks again. 😃
Lucas cuts the intelligent stuff and replaces it with childish nonsense. The CGI hasn’t aged well. The PT looks like a video game - overdone and far too busy in the action scenes.
This also serves as a great reminder why Dooku is such a great, morally gray villain. He always tries to offer diplomacy and reason before resorting to violence or death. *Dooku to Padme:* _Aren't you fed up with the corruption, the bureaucrats, the hypocrisy of it all?...Aren't you? Be honest, Senator---If Naboo were to join our Alliance, I could easily hear your plea for clemency._ *Dooku to Obi-Wan:* It's a pity our paths have never crossed before, Obi-Wan. Qui-Gon always spoke very highly of you---You must join me, Obi-Wan...and together, we will destroy the Sith! *Dooku to Mace-Windu:* _Master Windu, you have fought gallantly! Worthy of recognition the archives of the Jedi Order. But now it is finished. Surrender, and your lives will be spared._
I took your light saber deal twice and am still waiting with no updates. I think construction updates would be cool. Like, hey, we got your order. Then, we've assembled the parts fur you sabers. Then we're assembling your sabers. Then your sabers are complete and packaged securly. Then hey we've shipped your sabers. Just thoughts, would make the wait much better. Eagerly awaiting my sabers. @StarWarsAnalyst I posted order number and post was removed. Now, order no longer shows up on Shop. Nor on your web page. So can not track if shipped. Why is this?

I just noticed a parallel between this film and ROTS. When Padme refuses Dooku’s offer to join the separatists she says “I will not betray the republic”. In ROTS Anakin says the same thing as he says goodbye to Padme and goes to kill the Separatists.
A light saber fight between Jango and Mace would’ve done Jango’s character more justice. Imagine after realizing his jet pack wasn’t working, he reached for the saber and took Mace on for a bit. This would’ve made Jango live up to his legacy in the Open Seasons comic book arc.
I wish they'd kept the scene between Dooku and Padme. It adds a lot of nuance to the conflict and the reference to rebellion plays well against the original films.
People complained about politics from EP1 and wanted more action, which is why some deleted scenes in EP2 and 3 that added more depth to the political side were cut. The ones left in gave the surface level understanding to keep the plot moving.
Part of me wishes that Dooku was never made a full Sith. Making him a Jedi outcast and frustrated idealist who truly believes in the Separatist cause - who genuinely sees himself as a crusader against the failing Republic's corruption, but is actually just a pawn in Sidious' plan - I think would have made him a more tragic and interesting character.
They should have kept the negotiation scene instead of the droid factory. It would have further solidified with Anakin that "talking" doesn't get things done.
Hey! Cool video. Say, you got any deleted footage of Anakin dual wielding both sabers in AOTC. I heard there was much more and that Obi Wan was described in awe at his abilities. Let me know 😜
It seems from the script that Jango Fett does not win the lightsaber in a battle, but that Anakin surrenders it to Jango at the request of Padme. This can still make the duel between Mace and Jango have the same outcome. Even if Jango had a lightsaber he would still be owned by the most powerful lightsaber user in the galaxy, my man Mace Windu.
I actually think the alternate cut would have worked better. It would have let the audience be somewhat surprised. Although, if he let R2 and 3PO poke around to discover the manufacturing of battle droids, then that would have let the audience in on the bigger plot. R2 could send a transmission to the Jedi for help and bing-bang-boom; you get your big battle. While I think Jango would have taken Anakin's lightsaber, I don't think he would have kept it as a trophy. He wouldn't have considered it as being acquired fair and square; having defeated a Jedi in battle and claiming the spoils.
You’re telling me the whole reveal of Sidious by Dooku was hodgepodge after the fact made only to fix original plan mystery of Obiwan fate so we could see Obiwan captured… Pretty big part of Dooku, going for seducing Obiwan his grandpadawan to the dark side, revealing the Sith Lord… And it wasn’t originally planned. Once more the best things in movies/TV coming from improvisation or accident in making of things

This also means that the lightsaber Anakin had in Ep II would have been the one that Luke eventually inherits, instead of getting destroyed and Anakin having to build an identical one for continuity.
The trilogy with the best saber choreography, animated short series (Gendy should've been allowed to continue it) and ideas, woefully underappreciated
Lucas is the master of taking away a perfectly good scene and replacing it with goylsop
why would goyslop be what you went with
Why not?

_"How could a Mandalorian bounty hunter pass up on a free lightsabre? I honestly don't think anyone could."_ [Cue product spot.]
That was pretty smooth. 😉
Obviously, I haven't seen a finalised version of the slower/more political stuff (because no-one has) but I do think it's interesting.
Glad you enjoyed the vid!
Be honest, Senator---If Naboo were to join our Alliance, I could easily hear your plea for clemency._
*Dooku to Obi-Wan:* It's a pity our paths have never crossed before, Obi-Wan.
Great video as always. 😎
Appreciate it!
He’s a political idealist, not a murderer?
KUDOS to the VAs you got for Dooku and Amidala! Not too bad!
I'm pretty sure those voices are AI generated.
If they are as good as you say I'm but a third set. But need to get them before I decide. Thanks
@@Vander101 what is your order number
@@StarWarsAnalyst3031
@StarWarsAnalyst I posted order number and post was removed. Now, order no longer shows up on Shop. Nor on your web page. So can not track if shipped. Why is this?
I have archived this as well
Got my sabers today, and they are great! My invictus did not work, and with no problem they added an order for it to send me a replacement... and I ordered three more. I'm excited to get the new ones and my Invictus! Second best-looking one, Vitaeden silver is the best!
0:21 casually holds a light saber
not the greatest duelist, and a non-force user with a lightsaber against any trained Jedi, even the weak Jedi of that era, is laughable.
This was clickbait...
Bantha poodoo
saber intro looks familiar
this is so good honestly, sad that they've changed it in the movie
Can't believe they deleted this scene over the droid factory and romance scenes.
That first 3 seconds looked different from what I saw in theatres...
Just Skip to 5:57
I hate when youtubers do that crap.
Please give us all the deleted scenes and release these to us.
Love seeing your ads all over twitter.
Old school Star Wars will always be the best (Prequels and Original)
Music?
They should have kept the negotiation scene instead of the droid factory. It would have further solidified with Anakin that "talking" doesn't get things done.
That would’ve been awesome a Jedi vs a Mandalore. A fight that hasn’t been seen in a millennia
They need to do a Radio Drama like with 4, 5, and 6.
Hey! Cool video. Say, you got any deleted footage of Anakin dual wielding both sabers in AOTC. I heard there was much more and that Obi Wan was described in awe at his abilities. Let me know 😜
they really should release directors cuts of the prequals with all the deleted scenes
I see it as Dooku trying to play both sides like Palpatine was doing. It is in the Sith nature to betray each other after all.
"You know what I do when I feel completely unoriginal?? La, blah, blah Blah, la, la !!"
I wish they kept the trial scene, I think it made it more interesting as well as showing how powerful the separatists were growing in #'s......
I feel all deletes scenes would have made the prequels much better
you know.... kinda wish we got to see that fight between Jango and Mace, would've been cool to see a live action mando duel a Jedi
I would've loved to see Dooku act as Anakin and Padme's attorney in their trial, just to make him more fair.
Well at least it helped preserve the canon that non-Force users cant use light sabers without superhman strength and speed,
Yes, they can.
@@Anakunus Unless Disney has changed it, no they cannot. The sabers generate a huge amount of mass that then gyrates wildly out of control.
You need telekinesis, enhanced reflexes, and a bit of precognition to wield one effectively. Or you need some means to compensate, like super human strength and speed (General Grievous, for example.).
@@twelfthdoctor4402
That’s never been a thing. Not in the new EU and not the old one either.
Plenty of non force sensitives have weilded lightsabers both before and after disney acquired the franchise
@@sdm47 That's incorrect. Lightsaber behavior has been set since the earliest days of canon. Even the scene with Han using it on the taun taun shows him have to brave it with both hands just to use it as a crude tool.
@@twelfthdoctor4402 Okay, so Han Solo uses it a lightsaber in The Empire Strikes back, even though he is not a Force user, and that's why cannot use it. Makes sense.
I was engaged right up until the lightsabers for sale spiel.
Just fast forward 10 seconds lol
As soon as viceroy said “get on with it” it took me right to month python and the holy grail,
NGL a lightsaber duel between Jango and Mace Windu would have been cool. Even if it was only a minute or two long, it would have been cool. I could see Jango clashing blades with Windu a few times before his saber was cut in half. Then the fight could have went the route of Jango resorting his guns and flamethrower before ultimately getting slain in battle by Mace Windu.
"Dooku wants to build a better galaxy."
Try to modify your thinking from "He wants this." to "He wants us to believe he wants this." Don't forget that Dooku is a Sith and is fully aware of Palpatine's plans for the Republic. He's being manipulative here, not sincere. And doing such a good job of it that he's even fooling the audience who know for a fact that he's a badguy....
Obi Wan saw the droids being built en masse. That's how we knew about the droid army.
None of Obi Wan’s scenes were included until after these deleted scenes were removed. We wouldn’t have seen Obi wan on Geonosis at all until the arena
I never noticed the head flying off the helmet before the helmet lands
Seeing jango Fett with a lightsaber would have been awesome.
You know, I'm starting to see the Separtists (and the CIS) in a whole new light. Their intentions may have been noble, but sadly, they became nothing but mere pawns used by Palpatine in his plan for intergalactic conquest.
Wow click baited
What!
I remember people saying these movies were bad compared to the original. Imagine the horror if they knew what Disney had planned. 😂
Oh yes, I remember that deleted scene - not from the comic or the original script, though, but from the official novel version of Attack of the Clones. It's there in its entirety, and I much prefer it to the movie version's scene with Obi-Wan.
So Attack of the Clones was supposed to have more of a mystery with Obi-Wan's fate & Geonosis?
Honestly I like a good mystery. I want to see the mystery version of AOTC
Someone should make a extended versions of the Star Wars first two trilogies.
I like this better, they probably would have had to cut it for time. I've said it before, but the prequels would have been so much better as a TV show.
I hope there’s a deleted scene where one of the Jedi beheads Jar Jar, and where Padme chooses not to marry Anakin after he told
Her about the sand people massacre.
Jango with a Light Sabre?
Good night Jedi!
I have an idea for a solid quick release connect/disconnect for dual sabres/staff.
Thanks for the Black Friday deals on sabres, I'll try to manufacture the quick release for them.
So many amazing deleted scenes
This dude copied SW theory
I can see why Lucas took out the scene with Dooku. If he didn’t, The Count would be seen more as an Anti-hero and people would gravitate towards him.
