I think the design of pedals could be improved. I don't know enough about body mechanics, but it seems to me that placing the hinge under the footboard and forward, relative to the ankle's position and natural motion, could allow for heel-down playing (like a seesaw) and if designed correctly, there might be no loss in speed. Or perhaps, speed technique videos could be developed for heel-down drummers?😆
People need to realize that playing instruments is a physical task that requires respect. Drums ESPECIALLY since you are using every limb usually. Its the same reason piano classes teach hand stretches
