I got the soda stream about a year and a half ago. I stopped drinking brand name sodas like coke, sprite, and Pepsi and just drank the soda stream version. I've lost some weight and I think it's simply because of that. I didn't change anything else.
I figured out how to buy my soda syrups for $4 and used a Google Express promo to buy 2 of them for $2.50 each. So 1 liter of soda costs me 18/60 + 3/10 = $0.60 to make at home. Sure you can probably buy the same amount in 2L bottle but those go flat if you don't consume in the next hour.
It tastes fine. Store brand quality. Health-wise, I felt that they were better than plastic bottle and aluminum can Coke/Pepsi brand sodas. Plus with the syrup, you can mix less of it and still get a good sweet taste
and the worst part, if you compare it to prices in the EU for the "cheapest soda" you will NEVER save any money. {only when you refill the cylinders, or use a special adapter}
Yeah theres a $30 adapter tube that lets you use cheap refillable paintball c02 canisters that are like 5 times the capacity of the official $20 refills. you just have to deal with the tube and canister hanging out the back
What if i told you there was a much healthier alternative, AND it's almost nearly free. Water. You would really be surprised what being properly hydrated and eating decent foods will do for you. SodaStream is just a fancy name for flavored, carbonated sugar water... but hey, it's damn sure healthier than soda.
Either way Pepsi wins, over Coke, they own Soda Stream lol, make real fruit flavor, get a. Adaptor and use the 3 gallon cylinder of Co2, then cheaper, and you control additives

People don't say diet coke kills you, what they are finding out it contains known cancer agents. Big difference. Just like cigs, you could smoke for 60 years and die in a car accident.

I usually make just carbonated water in my SodaStream and I love it! It removes my soda cravings after a glass or two.

The fizz is the reason meals feel more complete and filling to me compared to a flat drink, I can get by with less food that way.
Drink it without the sugary flavour, its better than water

Depends how much you find the flavor for, you can probably find a diet flavor on eBay for cheap but the machine is expensive upfront

what happens if you use soda and re soda it? is it like super soda?
It will explode and leak at the seams, I tried refizzing a bottle that had gone somewhat flat got all over.

Water is great when exercising, but when I am eating a meal, I want to drink something that I can enjoy drinking rather than just stay hydrated.
