Scythe and Iron Harvest cater to different gameplay tastes with the same fictional setting
Technically no, Scythe is inspired by the artwork of Jacob Rozalski, IH is also inspired by this artwork, IH has no relation or inspiration taken from Scythe, something the devs have been very clear about. So if you are hoping for a video game adaptation of scythe unfortunately you will likely be disappointed, but if you loved older relic style RTS games, think Company of Heroes or Dawn of War 1, then you will definitely not be disappointed.

I am a Pole, my great-grandfather fought at Monte Cassino, when I saw Wojtek's bear in this film, my tears fell and I was moved (which is very rare). This game is going to be beautiful. Let the world know how the Poles fought bravely in the wars ...
The most I know about my grandfather’s role during the war was that he passed on an officer’s commission, because apparently Polish officers were being killed more often than regular army by comparison to other national armies (I don’t know how accurate this statement was), and that he did serve time as a POW before war’s end.
My great grandfather on my mothers side was a high ranking member of the danish resistance and my grandad on my dad's side was also part of the resistance, kinda made me relate to the partisans in this game.
Soviet? For what reason? 2 fractions fighting each other in the trailer are based on Germany and Poland, hell, bear was based on Wojtek the bear, he was fighting alongside Polish troops during WWII, he carried artillery ammunition. Even the language that is used by the boy and his father is Polish.

@@mateusz7079 haha OOF
This game is where my newfound love of Dieselpunk began.
I don't always like Game Cinematics trailers over Gameplay Trailers...
But when I do, I like when they look like this
This needs to have a FPS version like how cool would that be charging at a mech with your buddy’s and stuff
Titanfall but this setting:
I recognized this instantly from those beautiful paintings...Looks great!
I can already hear my PS4 Pro's fan preparing for lift off. 😭
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hell yeah bröther!
hehehe v true :)
pc only for now
This is RTS game, so your Fan will be just fine.
Yeah, like everyone else here "oh, they made Scythe into a vid game, sweet!"
I still haven't played scythe, I don't know how great of a solo only game it could be
@@hadenhippen1427 the board game has very little in common with the RTS. most games of scythe i've played resolve with little to no combat. they took this game in a completely different direction and it was a wise choice. Scythe and Iron Harvest cater to different gameplay tastes with the same fictional setting
@Adrian yeah I know I just recently moved so my gaming circle is 16 hours away sadly
Haden Hippen I played the digital version of Scythe (available on Steam). It's a lot of fun to play solo, the AI is competent. And when you feel prepared, you can go to multiplayer.
That's probably one of the best video game trailers I have ever seen.
you must not have seen blizzard game trailers
this still looks badass, needs a series or movie.
What worse than a Trench Warfare?
A Giant Mech stepping on your newly build Trench
Especially if it's bigger than a house.
About goddamn time the dieselpunk genre is shown some love. Super underrated subgenre with unlimited potential
R2D2 is looking pretty badass in this game
I guess this is how the Dawn of War universe started, way before history was recorded.
This concept is so freaking dope
I am a Pole, my great-grandfather fought at Monte Cassino, when I saw Wojtek's bear in this film, my tears fell and I was moved (which is very rare). This game is going to be beautiful. Let the world know how the Poles fought bravely in the wars ...
Mine great-grandfather was corporal and leader of heavy machine gun section, he became POV in a battle of Bzura.
The most I know about my grandfather’s role during the war was that he passed on an officer’s commission, because apparently Polish officers were being killed more often than regular army by comparison to other national armies (I don’t know how accurate this statement was), and that he did serve time as a POW before war’s end.
What kind of pole? Fishing or telephone?
@@Hoffmayne are u mirican?
My great grandfather on my mothers side was a high ranking member of the danish resistance and my grandad on my dad's side was also part of the resistance, kinda made me relate to the partisans in this game.
Legit thought they were gonna play the Soviet Anthem at 1:54
Michael Kring I'll get to work on that
Hmmmm
Soviet? For what reason? 2 fractions fighting each other in the trailer are based on Germany and Poland, hell, bear was based on Wojtek the bear, he was fighting alongside Polish troops during WWII, he carried artillery ammunition. Even the language that is used by the boy and his father is Polish.
@@lxdead5585 It's because the blaring trumpet reminded me of the intro of their anthem. Nothing more. It wasn't meant as an insensitive "All eastern-European languages sound alike" comment.
Lx Dead the Rusviet is in this game
i hope a movie like this would crop up someday......so detailed and lots of emotions in so few a minute
love how they immediately illuminate their own position after spotting the enemy. 10/10 tactics, sun tzu would be proud
JIMMY BUFFETT Absolutely flawless strategy.
They illuminate the whole battlefield so that they can see anything... And anyway, it's just a trailer scene ;)
It was made to illuminate battlefield AND to call for backup that was coming at the end of the trailer. Sun tzu would indeed be proud
@@vladimirchizhov3260 they also marked targets for enemy artillery, very thoughtful of them
Hey Master Tactician I want you to consider this:
1. It's Night when the Battle begins.
2. It's in the middle of a forest.
3. It's not Modern Warfare.
How would you see the enemy!?
The reason why WE can see them is simply because it's a Trailer.
Foolish Ronin charging Legions. Looking forward to this game. Looks great (trailer)
It's a Northstar. Don't you see his rifle?
Wow this is probably the best trailer I've seen in a very long time. Movies trailers don't come much better than this
We need an iron harvest series or movie
Child says: 3 2 1
Now boom has happen and then Prussian appear
Child: O KURWA...
Rozalski’s art is magnificent
Congratulations mr. Wareworlf!!!
TONY STARK BUILT THIS IN A CAVE... WHIT A BOX OF SCRAPS!!!
Never has a game trailer roped me in like this. This popped up on a video I was watching and I actually watched the whole thing Bravo.
1:14 "It's an abnormal variant!"
Cool attack on titan joke
Polonia: ambushes Saxony.
Saxony: haha big gun go brrrrrrrrrrrrrt.
Polonia: HAHAA BAYONET GO STAB STAB
@@shroudthewolf1105 yes
I'm already waiting for the movie!
Would love to see this as a planet side 2 kind of FPS in the future. (I know it’s a top down rts kind of thing)
Yyyeessss!! Exactly what I was thinking!
you have heard of Mech Warrior right? Its got mechs as tall if not taller that you can pilot.
"titanfall if it happened in ww1 was my first thought lol"
the quality of the trailer was epic well done
This cinematic for a rts remember me the great W40K Dawn of War one, orks vs space marines.
That one spoyce mahreen shouting: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH before charging up the hill
Mechs in a 1900s setting, haven’t seen that since chrome hounds. Looks interesting.
I read a book called leviathan where the central powers controlled gigantic mechs called dreadnoughts, and the allies controlled animal/machine crosses called leviathans and i really thought this was it, i was a bit dissapointed when the allied mechs came out
Technically WH40k is a medieval setting with mechs) But also, Valkyria Chronicles at lest have a power armor, in WW1 setting as well. And don't forget Red Aleret with all it's alternate timelines, Tesla power armor and also mechs.
So this is what I imagine Knight / Mechanicum worlds were mid ways through the Age of Strife when all the worlds were cut off from eachother and their advanced tech was still available but limited through which functions remained in their STCs. Like Knight and Titan tech, basic gunpowder firearms.
This is f***ing amazing... The Great War + Steampunk + Red Alert. I already love that game... Now shut up and take my money!
Actually, it's dieselpunk. Other than that I agree 100%
