This Opel Meriva sounds like a diesel. Let's take a look whats the reason. Engine Z14XEP 66kw, 90 hp - Astra G / Astra H - Combo - Corsa C / Corsa D - Meriva A - Tigra
i wonder if my z12xep has same fault. 8000 km chain replacement (no warranty) and suddenly loud diesel like sound, and on starts the chain rattles and no oil pressure for 5-10 seconds.
Inlet manifold problem. I found this info: "Astra H inner manifold tapping/tractor noise as you can see in my video the inner part of the inlet manifold is loose i found that the internal seal/gasket had perished causing this inner lining to tap against the manifold housing. I opened the manifold up and just reseated the inner skin with some high temp gasket seal and it solved the issue straight away now months later the engine still has no tapping noise it took approximately 1.30hrs to complete start to finish." Looks and sounds just like mine. I bought mine (cheaply) with 100k on the clock. It was ticking when I bought it. Its still going. It now has 136k on the clock. I must say the ticking noise is very annoying.
Unfortunately I don't know the 2007 diesel well enough and remote diagnosis is really difficult 😅 You can try removing the valve cover and inspecting it or have a repair shop do it for you.
hydraulic lifter need to be changed. My Meriva had the same problem. Tickling noise is gone and it sounds smooth now

Urgent. Can I remove camshaft to replace these without taking off timing chain?

I hope it's still running ;) This annoying noise was the reason to take a look at this car.
@Andre-oj8vh
Yes, it's still going and still annoying.
Have a happy new year! Andy.
How many kilometers?
~140.000km
my opel astra h 2007 diesel have sound like that, is the same problem?

@@Andre-oj8vh I think the problem is with some of the spark plugs, I saw some oil spilled next to one of them.
Spark plugs in a diesel? Don't you mean glow plugs?
What oil you used for your meriva
I don't know exactly what oil the owner used. But the change intervals were not observed.
@@emvierdeh Fecked up timing chain is likely then. They're VERY maintenance sensitive.
