Yes your right, well hoping for a better 2nd round, and for that stupid pair to finally lay an egg. I've never had a year where a hen hasn't laid an egg.
Yeah , they can be hard work at times , it’s nature mate it can do strange things at times and it surprises us all . Hope you’ll get a good second and third and maybe fourth round , I had 16 so far , many first timers hens especially but it was 50/50 , yeah let’s hope for better things to come, find me on messenger please.
Nice to see the little ones. My canneries had laid eggs . One pair has 3 chicks , other pair I didn’t see her egg and broke it , I thought that she didn’t like the lining in the nest so wanted to change it and the egg broke today again I didn’t know she had layed, I don’t see her sitting and was going to change the lining and as I felt there was a egg ....deep inside. So just stoped . Hopefully she will lay some more and that thy will breed out. Then after a long time my other pair layed and one baby is out and one egg, tomorrow will look to see if it has hatched. My gauldian finches, is slow ....all my first year. Am happy just for what I got so far. So for me that is good. One question, how do you clean the air around the cages, all the pollen from the birds. As I heard one can’t vacuum around them, or can I vacuum. So scared thy might get a fright. Because the dr. Told my husband he is allergic maybe to the powder of the birds and I don’t want to get rid of my birds. He stays out of the room for now until we are certain about the allergy that is affecting his lungs. My birds always have been out side only the canneries and Gauldians I had to put inside. But all is separate , I sweep and clean all the time. But want to vacuum, just not sure if I should.....what do you recommend...❤️🌹❤️🌹
I use a vacuum and never gave an issue , in fact the cocks try to sing even louder. Congratulations on you chicks, it's always a joy to see new arrivals
Looking good mate
Thanks Jack, hopefully 2nd round will be better
Well done
Thanks Michael, not a great start but at least it's a start I suppose
Yeah it is , think the weather didn’t help , hot warm cold , cold warm and hot again.

Well done , my first round is a nightmare ...this year , Hoping it will be better later , really disapointed
Yes I'm not to sure why that happens, I'm putting it down to new stock and birds not in condition
Have no clue too , as I did the same preparation as previous year @@BenMartinbreeding_season
Yes, it just works out that way sometimes unfortunately
What happened to your birds as I see nothing about what you wrote.

Hi mate when you change the nest pans once chick are older do you just put a felt in to replace the nest?
I just clean the nest, but if it's that bad then I use a new felt but just depends
