Ben the cages with the paper rollers are they Domus Molinarie cages and what size are they please mate ? Just been through all your vids,brilliant and so helpful for a newbie like myself,much obliged.
Hey Ben, nice birds and chicks!! Can't believe it took me a week to notice this vid?! Gotta ask and I'm pretty sure I've asked before but when the chicks hatch if their eyes are red they are hen, yes? No matter if they're borders/fifes etc. I've gotten some lovely chicks myself this year and it look like the vast majority are hens lol.
Get the notifications turned on and you will be informed when a video goes up lol, with regards to red eyed birds, they wont all be hens. But the way I've paird them this year will mean any birds that hatch with red eyes would be hens, as I have put a red eyed cock to a normal hen, so all red eyes will be hens and all the black eyes will be cocks but they will carrier the red eyes. So next year I will put a carrier cock to red eyed hen. And that's when it's not so easier as you will get everything lol

@@BenMartinbreeding_season Ta, I was curious as I've bred a fair few chicks this year and there are two in particular that I'm gonna keep back both are a pale cinnamon and white variegated out of a cinnamon hen and heavily variegated blue/white cock and all the chicks from that nest hatched with red eyes. I'll hang onto them anyways and clear the rest as I'm looking to get a few coloured pairs like your own Jasps/Mosaic's etc so need to make room
Well done mate,that's the thing m, when you bred tmnuce birds you get to choose what you want to keep back. Coloured canaries are great, theres so many different types to choose from

The cages are 60cm each, can pull the divide out to make a 120cm big cage, thanks for your kind words

No worries mate, red eyes opens up a different world lol, unless there satinette which are red eyed birds
