- SCARBOROUGH at Christmas time. A gentle walk through Scarborough at sunset from the Grand Hotel to the Seafront, Beach, Harbour and Amusement Arcades. Let's explore and answer the question what's it like in Scarborough in winter?
This video will show you Scarborough at night from sunset to dark and we'll explore the seafront and promenade and check out what's open, what it's like in Scarborough in December and have a look at landmarks such as Scarborough Castle, Bike and Boot hotel, the Spa and spa bridge and the shops and amusements.
We'll also have a look at the famous tramway cliff tram thing that goes up and down the cliff from the beach to the Grand Hotel!
I love Scarborough, England. It's a beautiful seaside town on the North Yorkshire coast attracting visitors and holidaymakers to it's hotels and bed and breakfasts all year round.
This is a different kind of video to the ones I normally film and I thought it would be good to take a look around this seaside town at sunset/dusk and see what it's like when the lights come on at night!
This is the most popular holiday destination in the UK and has so much to offer from the famous castle on the cliff to the lighthouse and boat trips, donkey rides, cafes and bars, walks along the beach and more.
I think Scarborough is beautiful no matter what day or time of year you visit so put it on your bucket list and visit scarborough UK

My parents used to take me and my sister to scarborough in August for a week, same guest house 3 years running, we went to Scarborough for a long weekend last year, with my niece, brother in law and sister , my parents and I
Love Scarborough, the scenery is amazing and we had a brilliant two days there a few years ago. Stayed at The Mariners and had our own balcony looking out over the sea. Can't wait to go back. Great video GW 👍

I've never been to Scarborough but I will go oneday
Hope you had a nice time walking round Scarborough and now the shops and it sounds a bit windy not many Christmas trees or decorations and hope you have some warm food and drink and a nice video and hotel too

My pokey flat was behind the Bike and Boot (then called The Mount). Always had lots of stray cats around the back awaiting scraps! Heard really good things about this hotel. Between your Sandside cafe recommendations and this I might plot a trip back for a visit in the warmer climes!
Your right yes it's the fact it's always stayed same since I was a kid those magic memories remain in tact from still famillier surroundings apart from Futurist of course.👍
Lovely place, had a great time there a few years ago. Stayed at the Windmill. Excellent place near to train station, supermarket, restaurants, pubs.
16:30 it's nice to see some things don't change , that shop hasn't changed since I was a kid, along with the model shop a little farther down. ( I'm 53 now)

This was a very interesting walk Neil I thought your camera picked up the Night lights really well there was no flickering!
Ive never seen Scarborough before I've seen reviews & vlogs on The Grand Hotel tho, so I know what you mean about mixed experiences there!
I love the Bridge you went across & the Tramway down to the Beach I'd love to go on that!
The Smuggler & his Apprentice looked terrifying a bit like the Eric Morecambe Statue in Morecambe the expressions on the black faces look horrific!
Wouldn't like to meet them on a dark night!
The Joke Shop did look scary I hate to think what joke items were for sale in there!
So many Fish & Chip Shops everywhere & nice Cafes quieter now being out of season but I bet it gets really busy in Summer.
As the evening drew in the walk by the Sea Front was really atmospheric & such a panoramic view with The Grand Hotel back in the distance & it was nice hearing the natural sounds of the Seagulls it also sounded very windy in Scarborough & I bet it was cold too!

It does get super busy in summer but well worth visiting

scarborough could be a great christmas venue if they had markets made an effort with lights and christmas activities but sadly it looks dull
There are lots of Xmas lights in the town centre, He did not walk around the town centre. This walk featured Eastborough down to the beach, a part of town that shoppers never visit. It is for tourists only and very desolate out of season. Visuals can deceive.
i am just saying it could be good if they had a christmas market and then you could have an extended season creating more revenue for the town
We were there last weekend for Scarborough sparkle and it was lovely. Its just a pity there wasnt more going on in town on South bay. There was a Christmas fayre type thing in the market hall but just few craft stalls. I remember a few years ago there used to be a market up top if town with a big whirlitzer organ playing songs and performers etc . Would be lovely to see it get back to the brilliant town it once was❤
The camera was great. Picked up the flashing lights well. Really enjoyed the walk along the fronts, we did the same walk last week. There are lots of great Christmas lights up at the top end of town going towards the railway station

The John Wherrit shop @ 1622 has been in Scarborough a very long time I have a picture of it in Edwardian times, Its quite old-fashioned inside but in a nice way. if anyone is on twitter I restore old pictures and colourize them just search for Old Scarborough.
