This is co cute :) Thank you for sharing! This is the perfect place for a quiet holiday with the grandchildren and strolling along the promenade with something sweet from the shops and stalls 🍦🍬
A little bit more on the Grand Hotel. It's actually of Victorian age - it's designed in the shape of a V to honour Queen Victoria. It was also designed originally with 365 rooms for the days of the year, 12 floors for the months, 4 towers for the seasons, and 52 chimney's for the weeks. Sad to see what's become of it these days, but still it's an impressive building.
I love Scarborough! It's a smaller, quaint seaside resort with so much charm. I love the promenade and also Peasholm Park. Great little place you can't help but love.
Yes, it was very charming and peaceful just strolling around :) We had such a great time in Scarborough so it wasn’t definiely our last time visiting this area!
I loved this video as it just seemed to ooze through the great parts of Scarborough, you guys planned it well! It was very pleasant to see the place again 🙂
Fish pan is always a winner with our family. Love the upper floor with a view of the seafront. Get there slightly before lunch yo get a seat. And the grand isn’t great. Dodgy electrics and walls a bit dull and just needs modernising.
Londoner here, incredibly friendly people, northerners seem to be happy to talk to you even though your a complete stranger. That would never happen where i live.
Wow! This is actually a really cool spot to just take a quick day trip to on a sunny day from the north east. Thanks for showing us this spot guys! Im really enjoying these UK videos.
Yes! People love Whitby for being just a cute coastal town when you can have such a great summer getaway! Our pleasure :) We truly enjoy filming this UK series too! Hope the weather will be even better in July!
Yes, the atmosphere in Scarborough was defnminely like back in a day! 🌊And the ice-cream from that Harbour bar was just the best! Creamy, rich and made just fresh in front of you, FOR YOU 🤩
We went this week overnight - stayed at Bike and Boot Hotel which was lovely - very funky and great central location (very near to Grand Hotel). Lots of lovely places to eat apart from Fish and Chips - Embers , Licorella and Giannis and Stephen Joseph Theatre which is great for shows and cinema.
The Tramway at the Beginning is called a funicular railway been to Scarborough about 30 odd times in my lifetime coming from Middlesbrough it is just an x93 Arriva bus down the road takes about 2 hours on the bus . Or you can get the X4 which does what I call the scenic route the coast road some bus drivers not all but some will stop halfway so you can have a 5 minute smoke on the X4 and with the £2 cap at the moment it's a bargain 🏴
Love Scarborough, been visiting for years. We were actually looking to stay at the Salisbury apartments next time we go, so great to get a review on here😊
You won’t be disappointed 😍 The location was perfect and the apartment was just lovely - we would definitely consider coming back for a few days to relax and enjoy peaceful and scenic Scarborough walks ❤️
You shd go to Weymouth in Dorset, ( Traditional British Seaside) But the Highlight is a Tiny Ice-cream Kiost, and for £3. Max you get a Foot long ice-cream Cone
You should’ve gone across the road to Northstead Manor Gardens and taken the train to Scalby and the Sealife Centre past the open air auditorium where live concerts are performed. The short train journey is a must
Sounds great to us! It's not always possible to do all the things within a day but we definitely agree that some of the points were missing on our itinerary... :)
I've been going to Scarborough for over 70 years as I only live just over an hour's drive away. I've not had fish and chips from North Bay Fisheries. Thanks for the post. I went last week bought fish and chips then sat in Peasholm Park as suggested. Brilliant. The fish matches any I have had in Whitby or elswhere.
From Scarborough a £2 bus ride gets you to Filey (30 mins) or Bridlington (1 hour). You can also take the train. From Brid you can get the bus (25 mins) to Thornwick Bay which is a short walk to Flamborough Head. Also from Scarborough a 1 hour bus journey will get you to Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay, and a bus from Whitby gets you to Runswick Bay, Staithes and Saltburn.
We literally felt like back in the bygone era! There's definitely a charm to it because it's not that easy to maintain this kind of an atmosphere in the 21st century :)
We have lived in Scarborough for 7 years now and still never been to the harbour bar. We both worked the seafront arcades so didn't really have the time but it's so interesting to see someone experience the town for the first time. See the things the residents don't.
Our pleasure! That fish & chips was the best we've had so far in England!!! 🐠🍟 The town itself enchanted us very much and we hope that more people will decide to go there, because it would be very sad if businesses declined because of the lack of visitors :)
Thanks for another enjoyable vlog and I am really loving your content at the moment. I am really happy you and Karolina explored the stunning seaside resort of Scarborough as for me I grew up with Scarborough and have loads of happy memories on holiday with my belated grandparents, Scarborough will always hold a special place in my heart! North Bay Fisheries are great but for me it has to be the Fish Pan Restaurant. Love your accommodation but have you considered staying in the Sands apartment on North Bay? I highly recommend it.
That’s so sweet ❤️ It always feels great to bring good memories back! It was our first but definitely not the last time in Scarborough so that you very much for all the recommendations!
My dad has been going to the harbour bar since the early 60’s and I’ve been going since late 80’s/early 90’s and now I go with my kids, it’s the best ice cream and my favourite reason to go to Scarborough ❤
The nice man from Middlesbrough sent you to North Bay Fisheries - the best and my favourites as a Scarborough resident - they cook with best beef dropping!
Good review. You guys are great. I love Scarborough and that old fashioned tram is so cool!! I’ve been on it before and inside that café next to it too. I had ice cream strawberry and vanilla mix from that seafront parlour years ago. It’s really nice 😊
We’re so glad to hear that you have nice memories with Scarborough and also enjoyed watching our video! This place deserves a great reputation so hopefully even more people will appreciate its charm 😍 PS we’re dreaming of these amazing ice-cream and fish & chips we had!!
Haway Jay, whose statue is on top of Nelson's column in Trafalgar Square 🤣🤣🤣 Keep doing what you're doing. Lovely to see your take on some of the UK's favourite places .
32:30 Brunswick used to be so busy when everything was open. Unfortunately, it's currently in the process of being converted into an Odeon cinema, so none of the shop leases were being renewed, hence why it looks so bare.. its more or less a toilet stop for most people at the moment until the last remaining shops close for good. 😂
I was 13 when I first heard Simon & Garfunkel's Scarborough Fair, and I'm now 66. I've always fantasized about the Scarborough Fair since I was 13, and I visited England when I was 29, but only stayed in London for a week. Your video took me back to being a 13 year old boy. Thank you~~ I'm going to practice guitar again to sing Scarborough Fair. And if you guys visit my cafe, I want to play that song to Carolina. Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme~~~
This is crazy to hear! We're so glad to bring your memories back :) It's a bit touching too! Just googled the song and I like it a lot - so relaxing 👍 [Karolina]
LRV 992, which is the bus you went on is a Leyland Titan PD2 built in 1956, Viscount only operate open top services, with slightly new vehicles as well
The two story chalets do not have bedrooms above only a lounge and fitted kitchen, no bathroom, and a small downstairs area to make drinks, wash beach items. No overnight sleeping allowed, chalets can be bought from £65000 upwards, north bay is more for locals, we live in a beautiful town
Hull are folk say we prefer haddock because cod is a bottom feeder and eats from the bottom of the sea .also Hull was a big cod fishing trade till Iceland muscled in
I didn’t know that about cod and haddock. I get haddock because it’s cooked fresh to order, but then I found that when cooked well, it’s really delicious and I much prefer it to cod. So my first reason stays true, but I also get it because I actually prefer the taste of it. I always go to ‘small fry’ chippy when I’m in Scarborough.
We were there 3 years ago rather busier. Out if 7 days i had fish and chips 6 times 😂, love my fish n chips. We also had those Sundeas, one each, hubby had chocolate and it was too much he felt sick after.
Oh wow! You must have had a fantastic time :) Which fish & chips shop was your favourite then?! And your husband was a brave one, we cannot imagine having 1 Sundae each to be honest 😂😂
Thank you so much for watching! Most probably because we always show a lot of delicious meals 😂 We're the foodie types so before we go somewhere, we make our research because the worst would be if we did disappoint you with our options!
Thank you so much 😊 We were equally amazed and excited trying out that chocolate dessert 🍫 Really recommended to visit that ice-cream parlour for it and also for the atmosphere!
Great video guys ❤️ the man from Middlesbrough was right Peasholm fish and chips is one of the best in town and far far better than any on the south beach. The police phone box is like the one on Dr Who.. Shame you missed the little train to the pyramids “sea life centre”. The Brunswick shopping Center is going through transformation into a cinema since the death of Debenhams who owned the centre. This is why a lot of shops were closed. Thanks for showing Scarborough in a great light ❤️ it’s my home town. It has a lot of things wrong with it but it’s also fantastic .
Thank you so much for sharing all these interesting insights :) When we visit different places, we always like to cover most of the things but unfortunately we're not always able to do that because either the weather doesn't allow us or we run out of time haha but hopefully we covered most of the iconic spots! In the Northbay Fisheries we've eaten the best fish & chips we've had in the entire UK! No exaggeration! 🐠🍟😋
I don’t know who Lord Nelson is and having been born in England, I’ve lived here most of my life. I’ll certainly do a little Google search though and find out who he was, or who he is portrayed as being in the history files.
I was born in Scarborough and I have not been back for at least 20 years... I keep talking about it but we live 5 plus hours away by car now... and there is no decent hotels... but the apartment you stayed in looks decent! Brunswick centre has been there since I was a kid! and THAT mcD was there too! I wonder if the jokes shops are still there near the seaside?
I wouldn't say that its lack of funding that caused the issues with the hotel more like the present owners who year after year get voted worst hotel chain, but are still allowed to operate.
I wonder what the future brings for them since the hotel really doesn’t seem that appealing even from the outside haha 🥲 That’s interesting! Thanks for sharing!
@@JayandKarolina Stay away from any hotel or property owned by Britannia Hotels, they rake in profits because they don't invest any money. they run businesses into the ground then close them.
@@JayandKarolina Interestingly, Adolf Hitler admired the building so much, he planned to use it as his headquarters if Germany had won the Second World War. Official Nazi documents revealed that Luftwaffe pilots faced a court martial if they dropped a single bomb on Hitler’s planned address.
The Magpie is great, but Trenchers is the equal of it! There'll probs be a large queue at the Magpie. If you fancy something different to F&C, the Humble Pie n Mash shop is a WWII themed place, I love it there.
Just had a look at that pub and it looks awesome! I personally love such places with a great dose of history :) Noted 100% for the next time! Thanks!!!
Gosh, we used to have a permanent caravan just outside of the main bays when I was a child. We went to Scarborough at all different times of the year. Used to be backed with holiday makers. Seems a shame that it is so deserted now.
That's interesting to hear! We actually found the peace and quiet to be more enjoyable rather than a place which is packed with people! But I guess it's not good for the businesses because obviously with less people, they might be struggling in the future.. Hope it's not the case because Scarborough is a very nice coastal town indeed :)
Think you guys should do more northern England we have some amazing spots would highly recommend doing a whole video dedicated to Beamish open air museum. You would love it!!
Good idea!! We are actually really wanting to come back North again this summer so realistically will visit it very soon! There was a lot of people wanting us to vlog Beamish so I believe that's what we'll do ❤️
You need to go to Whitby - one of my dads best friends owns the castle there called ‘Sneaton Caste’ where they have the ‘Garden Room’ restaurant inside the Castle, it can also be used for accommodation and it’s a beautiful place to stay. The food is top notch. If you go there ask for John, Sue or Daniel Morley and say Andrew Wigham saw your content and said you should try the place out, I’m sure they’ll look after you. They’re really friendly people and good friends to my family. Please check it out if you head to Whitby. My brother is getting married there next year, it’s a beautiful place to be. If you go and try the place out I would absolutely recommend the steaks / burgers.
Thank you so much for all the insights! We actually filmed the video in Whitby a day after this one so would need to come back to the Sneaton Caste the other time 😍 We love our food and just by checking their reviews we are convinced it would be such a great place because all the dishes look absolutely amazing!
@@JayandKarolina You should definitely give it a go when you’re next there (lovely hotel and restaurant) - the owner John bought the place from the church / the nuns that lived there, the nuns then moved out the back into a new building they had just constructed, what he’s done with it is great, the whole place is nice inside and out (especially the chapel) and the grounds surrounding it are beautiful too, they even have animals in the fields like Llamas and Goats accompanied by sheep. It’s ideal for food, drinks and accommodation.
That apartment looks expensive, not everyone is made of money. Been going to scarbados multiple times a year for over 20 years. The grand , premier inn , travel lodge , or my tent does the job. LOL
We've heard about this place before! It would be a nice contrast indeed 🤪 Let's hope the weather will treat us well this summer to film all the videos that we're planning to do!
Great Video , outside the UK many of my comments have disappeared , we love the tram to the beach. It was 36C today at my home in France, Hope this comment does not disappear again,
Thank you so much for watching 😍 Currently in many European countries there’s a heat wave whereas we struggle with sun in the UK! Send us over some of the summer weather haha
Definitely. They’re the main event for me. They’re at least a non negotiable anyways, but certainly tons of salt and vinegar are required to enhance their deliciousness :)
The Funicular railway at Scarborough Spa was the first in the country in the 1870's. Scarborough was the first seaside resort in England, beginning in 1620. The Castle was an important Royal fortress. Scarborough Fair was the longest granted in the Medieval era, at 44 days during the summer, trading goods from all over Europe, it originated a famous song 'Scarborough Fair', recorded by Simon & Garfunkel in the 1960's. The Grand Hotel was built in the 1860's. Why not research the PLACE not just the food stops. You've never heard of Nelson, think Trafalgar Square & Nelson's column. Proper ice cream is made with milk & cream, not watery like Gelato. The clues in the name ice CREAM. Scarborough has a proper harbour, not a marina. Those Police Telephone boxes used to be everywhere. Doctor Who uses one. There are many older people because the children are at school. The 'old peoples shopping centre' was built in the 1980's so is not ancient.
So many useful insights! Thanks for sharing :) We definitely need to make our way up to the castle next time! And oh, these ice-cream were super CREAMY indeed 😍
Grand hotel 365 rooms ( days in the year) four ballrooms spring summer autumn ( fall)winter. The internal staircase was copied exactly and used as the main staircase on the Titanic .Can go in have a meal ,last time was there .So can imagine walking on the Titanic stair case just through the revolving doors from the pavement
You would have an amazing experience if you took your fish and chips on the beach in Scarborough!! My grandaughter and i always sit and watch the hilarious drama unfold when unsuspecting tourists bring food to sit and eat.😂
Next time! We could have easily spent couple of more days to explore the neighbouring areas of Scarborough too but unfortunately the weather wasn't the best at that time... A good reason to be back soon! :)
i live in Scarborough and legit haven't been to the beach in years 😂😂 you don't really respect what you have on your own doorstep at times. Great Video Btw!
This is so true! Sometimes you just take things for granted but it's always good to be explorative! Hopefully you'll make it to the beach again when the weather is better 😉🌊
Yorkshire certainly isn’t a country… 😂 I live in Scarbados… it’s brilliant without the tourists 😂. Harbour bar is one of the original milk bars popularised in the 50/60’s… on freezing day in winter, after a walk on the beach with the dogs… a frothy coffee on the HB is magic.
@@autumn5852 it’s never changed really since it opened… not that I’m that old 😂. I’m 50 and remember it as a kid… ice cream, shakes and we they used to call frothy coffee, just coffee made with milk and hot air blown through it really. Hot donuts and coffee in winter after a dog walk was essential
@@Silentauditor974 👍🏽 ah yes, we used to have frothy coffee ☺️ I’m older than you. I just got a vision in my mind of the emerging coffee culture of the 1950’s or something 😆 lol. I’d say hot donuts are always essential 😜 but after a lovely walk with the dog I’d say they taste even better 👌🏽
How nice! We always like to hear the perspective of the locals because there's always something important that we probably missed on the vlog! Still very much enjoyed our time in Scarborough :)
@@JayandKarolina Definitely enjoy living in Scarborough for the most part! I live out of the town centre though so away from the hustle and bustle. Fun fact for you: that ferris wheel you saw on the South Bay front is where they used to have the Futurist Theatre (housed lots of productions and shows/musicals) but unfortunately the council chose to demolish it in 2018. Real shame!
Thank you so much 🥳 We’re currently in the middle of planning our UK series so hopefully the weather will be good for us! Thank you so much for the recommendations!
If you come to Scarborough again to save you walking up all those steps there is a footpath that wind's it's way up through the Gardens and the best Fish and Chips is the Anchor on the South bay from a local hope you enjoyed your stay
Yeah hahaha we we've been wondering the other why there's not so many people saying anything about our OUTROs 😅 Once I started saying it in a specific tone, there's no way I could possibly change it now lol [Karolina]
Haha, thank you so much! We always were in two minds which fish we should go for but now we know :) Love the differentiation of the amount of vinegar too lol
Hi guys i am a new subscriber loving your channel have just watched your Newcastle and Durham videos you seem to like to go back in time i was born in Gateshead just over the water from Newcastle if you ever visit i think you would like beamish open air museum its fantastic old tram cars , buses ,even a fairground
Pity you ignored the lifeboat station and give them some credit for all the lives they've saved at sea for over 150 years! Don't know who Nelson is? What about the castle?
Fair enough on the Nelson point - sometimes I'm not with it! We sometimes can't show absolutely everything - it might not seem like it but making these videos are extremely difficult and so we do our best!
I take it no one told you BEST fish and chips was very near the apartment in town called Mother Hubbard's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! won lots awards....20 years ago! haha
Through the tourist season dogs are only allowed on certain parts of the beach, some people aren't responsible owners, attacks on donkeys, excrement left and such, usually between March and October
Thanks! Interesting and good to know as it’s one of things you always need to take into consideration when you are a dog owner and plan the trip somewhere 😊
Yeah, that's exactly the reason! There's way more people and young families on the beach during the summertime so this rule definitely helps not to disturb anyone's holiday. Although you can freely go on the promenade and around the city/parks with your dogs - there were actually quite a few people strolling around with their cute four-legged friends 🐕🐾
@pamelajna being a Yorkshire dog owner who regularly visits Scarborough and other Yorkshire coast resorts (with my 4 legged friend who loves a run on the beach and a swim in the sea). The main parts of the beach by the promenade are dog exclusion zones for the summer period, but heading south after the olhmpia bay amusements is all dog friendly, and then there are another 3 small beaches just after too, and all allow dogs all year round. North bay beach is fully dog friendly. 2 further nearby resorts of Filey and Bridlington have miles of beach and again only restricted for a small section in summer months when lots of families use the central bit. Scarborough is very dog friendly (bowls of water outside shops, most cafes allow well behaved dogs and even treat them to some sausage or a bit of fish - always ask first if not clearly signed). I have only ever been refused in Scarborough once, and they set a table up outside for me instead. 🙂 Yorkshire is generally a very dog friendly place, and nearby York is the most dog friendly city I've ever visited.
Ah, the hometown. The Original Seaside town. And thankfully not that Terrible town up the road beginning with W that should start with S. (Now there's some inner-Yorkshire rivalry)
Nah! Go to CAMBRIDGE instead. More walkable and the colleges are beautiful. Oxford is a city with a university in the middle, Cambridge is a university with a town/small city attached.
The trick with the tram is to walk down through the park, then you can save your legs on the way up! Have to agree, North Bay Fisheries is the best take away chippy I tried in Scarborough. I can't say I tried them all, but they do stand out in quality and consistency. That apartment looks fantastic, but looking it up it is also on the more expensive end. Before I moved here, when I visited I stayed at B&Bs or smaller hotels which are much cheaper, less than half the price per night.
Haha yes, that would make a lot of sense! But the view approaching the beach was quite nice too :) Oh, them fish & chips were honestly the best ones we've had so far in the entire UK! So fresh, crispy and hot! The Salisbury also has some cheaper options - ours was huge so maybe the price was a bit higher!

Loads of you tube videos showing the battles, last time I saw it was about 1965 as a child, fabulous.

Just to let you know, the song is not about England Scarborough
LRV 992, which is the bus you went on is a Leyland Titan PD2 built in 1956, Viscount only operate open top services, with slightly new vehicles as well
The two story chalets do not have bedrooms above only a lounge and fitted kitchen, no bathroom, and a small downstairs area to make drinks, wash beach items. No overnight sleeping allowed, chalets can be bought from £65000 upwards, north bay is more for locals, we live in a beautiful town
Down the coast 8/10 miles Flamborough head is nice. Nice beach with loads of caves around the bay
On the peasholm park they have navy battles with men in the 🚢 one man ships..
Hull are folk say we prefer haddock because cod is a bottom feeder and eats from the bottom of the sea .also Hull was a big cod fishing trade till Iceland muscled in
That’s interesting to know :) We’re not super educated on the types of fish but in terms of the taste we really like the juicy cod!
@@JayandKarolina Haddock is what most Yorkshire people choose. It's milkier and flakier. But Cod is still great too, ofc 😊👍
I live in scarborough, glad you enjoyed yourself
Most Fish n Chip shops up North don't use oil for batter they use lard or dripping. It tends to make the batter more crispy.
We didn’t know that but the fish from The Northbay Fisheries was THE BEST one I’ve had in the UK so far 😍👌 Worth the trip to Scarborough 100%!
Love your videos, they are always happy and smiley and leave me feeling hungry for some reason 🤔
Thank you so much for watching! Most probably because we always show a lot of delicious meals 😂 We're the foodie types so before we go somewhere, we make our research because the worst would be if we did disappoint you with our options!
Lovely channel, thank you enjoyed this
Thank you so much for watching! If you have any suggestions Jane of what you would want to see more, let us know! :)
47:45 Karolina goes totally OTT with the vinegar 😂😂😂
I reckon that bottle of vinegar would last 20 years in Karolina's house! 😂😂
Haha yes I only add a little bit of both salt and vinegar but I’ve seen everyone putting loads 😂 I must improve next time!
@@JayandKarolinatons of salt is the way :) then some vinegar followed by a bit more salt. And scraps are non-negotiable ☺️
😋😋 yummy ice-cream 👍🏻🍦🍨🍧. Fabulous vlog. Well done. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much 😊 We were equally amazed and excited trying out that chocolate dessert 🍫 Really recommended to visit that ice-cream parlour for it and also for the atmosphere!
@@JayandKarolina I will. Never been to Scarborough. Tramway looks interesting 🤔
YOU MUST put the vinegar on the fish too not just the chips !!! You will notice the difference it brings the flavours out in the fish
Thanks for the tip Michael! Will do that next time 😋
Great video guys xx
Glad you enjoyed it 😍 We truly loved our time in Scarborough!
We love Scarborough but filey is my all time favorite place .
Absolutely love the grand hotel, still beautiful
Have you stayed there recently? What's the standard of the accommodation? :) Unfortunately, we've hear that it's gone down the hill.
I tried fish and chips in Whitby and Scarborough and the result of my taste testing is Whitby good Scarborough Fair.
The harbour bar is amazing .. I’m stunned you don’t know who lord Nelson is 🫤
We absolutely loved that ice-cream parlour 😍🍦Now the whole truth has come out that I wasn't very good at history lessons haha
I don’t know who Lord Nelson is and having been born in England, I’ve lived here most of my life. I’ll certainly do a little Google search though and find out who he was, or who he is portrayed as being in the history files.
Many years ago (about 66 years, I think) I attended an open-air theatre here, so that may explain the large number of seats.
Scarborough is really nice place
We really had such relaxing days over there! Not too touristy but very well-maintained for some short holiday getaway :)

Interestingly, Adolf Hitler admired the building so much, he planned to use it as his headquarters if Germany had won the Second World War. Official Nazi documents revealed that Luftwaffe pilots faced a court martial if they dropped a single bomb on Hitler’s planned address.
Fun fact, Hitler wanted the grand hotel as his headquarters
The Magpie is great, but Trenchers is the equal of it! There'll probs be a large queue at the Magpie.
If you fancy something different to F&C, the Humble Pie n Mash shop is a WWII themed place, I love it there.
Just had a look at that pub and it looks awesome! I personally love such places with a great dose of history :) Noted 100% for the next time! Thanks!!!
PG tips are my favourite tea xx
Them are good indeed but when we are in Yorkshire we find the Yorkshire freshly brew tea to be delicious too!
There was a lot of people wanting us to vlog Beamish so I believe that's what we'll do ❤️
Also check out the tardis on the prom
Sound 👍😎✌️🦈. I've just subscribed to your channel , my hometown. Grand 😁.
Looks delicious the fish
Yep! And believe it or not but it did even taste better 😍😋
That apartment looks expensive, not everyone is made of money. Been going to scarbados multiple times a year for over 20 years.
The grand , premier inn , travel lodge , or my tent does the job. LOL
I went for the first time recently and ate at the fishpan also had ice cream from habour bay. Seagulls are ruthless 😂
Scarborough is all about indulging, walking along the coastline and trying to avoid any interactions with the seagulls haha 😂 Thanks for watching!
Go see the other end of the spectrum in Great Yarmouth, it is a stark contrast to Scarborough
Another Day, Another Vlog 🤍
Yaaas!!! 🥳 More to come!
Scraps are so much nicer with salt and vinegar on them. I'm really getting to love you guys ❤
I had no idea! I'm afraid we filmed the Whitby video already but when we have scraps again I'll for sure remember this! Thank you for the love ❤
@@JayandKarolina Roger bravo
We had no idea that there's a connection with Titanic! Hopefully the hotel does something to avoid having such a bad rep 👀👍
You would have an amazing experience if you took your fish and chips on the beach in Scarborough!! My grandaughter and i always sit and watch the hilarious drama unfold when unsuspecting tourists bring food to sit and eat.😂
Sounds great! We actually wanted to do it but it was so windy haha but the Peasholm Park was a nice area nearby to eat too 😄
You pointed out Clarks was closed down, but a few seconds before that you passed a new Clarks shop.
True that! Although there was many abandoned spaces on that high street too...
You missed the open air theatre in North bay
Great video I'm going to scarbrough tomorrow
Have fun! Thank you so much :)
Yes, your opening statement is correct, Scarborough is in Yorkshire not England as in the thumbnail! Yorkshire is a country.
God's own
Yorkshire certainly isn’t a country… 😂 I live in Scarbados… it’s brilliant without the tourists 😂. Harbour bar is one of the original milk bars popularised in the 50/60’s… on freezing day in winter, after a walk on the beach with the dogs… a frothy coffee on the HB is magic.
@@Silentauditor974👍🏽 did you go in the milk bar back in the day? Was it a coffee shop culture? I would have loved that 😻
@@autumn5852 it’s never changed really since it opened… not that I’m that old 😂.
No way! I live in Scarborough so I’m intrigued how this will go 😂
Real shame!
great vlog ,you should go to glastonbury town and wells 🙂
Thank you so much 🥳 We’re currently in the middle of planning our UK series so hopefully the weather will be good for us! Thank you so much for the recommendations!
The police box is from 'doctor who' bbc
North bay Fisheries best fish and chips in the country.
It was the best fish and chips we've eaten this summer in the UK :) HONESTLY LOVED IT ❤️
If you come to Scarborough again to save you walking up all those steps there is a footpath that wind's it's way up through the Gardens and the best Fish and Chips is the Anchor on the South bay from a local hope you enjoyed your stay
Great suggestion! Would need to check it out next time! What's the name of the fish & chips shop you're talking about? :)
@@JayandKarolina it's called the Anchor sit in or takeaway look at Deano eats he raves about it
Karolina outro is always funny ( next videooooo)😄😄😄😄😄
Yeah hahaha we we've been wondering the other why there's not so many people saying anything about our OUTROs 😅 Once I started saying it in a specific tone, there's no way I could possibly change it now lol [Karolina]
You guys don’t call that railway a “Funicular”?
We actually did :) Although everyone rather knows is as a historic tram to the beach 🚃🌊
Your guys are couple 🎉😊
Yes :) A very happy couple :)
I went in Terror Tower scarborough the day this video was uploaded
How was it? Is it worth it? 😬👻
@@JayandKarolina yeah Terror Tower is well themed and scary. I think I might have actually seen you when I was out on a walk
North = Haddock and empty the vinegar pot and salt, South = Cod and pinch of salt and drop of vinegar LOL
Haha, thank you so much! We always were in two minds which fish we should go for but now we know :) Love the differentiation of the amount of vinegar too lol
Yeah man, put enough vinegar until the battered fish starts swimming then add lots of salt on top so it sticks onto the vinegar 😅 @@JayandKarolina
This is so sweet Sandra 😍 We've visited Beamish so the video will be uploaded on this channel soon! Hope you'll enjoy watching it too!
I live there.
The last time I walked up those steps I thought I was having a heart attack. lol.
Oh... We're so sorry to hear that. Take care 🙏🏼
I take it no one told you BEST fish and chips was very near the apartment in town called Mother Hubbard's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! won lots awards....20 years ago! haha
We world need to try it out next time then! Would be VERY HAPPY if it beats The Northbay Fisheries 🥳🥳
3rd of July my birthday ❤😂
Nice apartment mate
We truly loved our space at The Salisbury 😍 And the location right in the heart of this coastal town was just the best!
4:00 i have noticed dogs are not allowed on the beach there. Is is usual in UK? 🇬🇧
Yorkshire is generally a very dog friendly place, and nearby York is the most dog friendly city I've ever visited.
Ah, the hometown. The Original Seaside town. And thankfully not that Terrible town up the road beginning with W that should start with S. (Now there's some inner-Yorkshire rivalry)
Come to Oxford man.
Guess where we've been to today! 🤩 Oxford treated us very well with beautiful sunshine!!!
Nah! Go to CAMBRIDGE instead. More walkable and the colleges are beautiful. Oxford is a city with a university in the middle, Cambridge is a university with a town/small city attached.
@JayandKarolina when is the video being uploaded 🤔
@@ihsanfarid745 tomorrow ;)
You missed the Spa complex out completely, which is a shame
Sometimes is good to miss the spots because now we have a great reason to be back 😬
The trick with the tram is to walk down through the park, then you can save your legs on the way up!
But the view approaching the beach was quite nice too :)
Oh, them fish & chips were honestly the best ones we've had so far in the entire UK! So fresh, crispy and hot!
The Salisbury also has some cheaper options - ours was huge so maybe the price was a bit higher!
Are you the same person as gig hustle
