Just found your channel, you are so relaxing to watch and listen to 🤩. This tutorial has re-ignited my interest in polymer clay, didn’t realise how gorgeous the translucent could be. Thank you so much, have subscribed and will be watching often 👍👏🤩💕💕

Try chilling the clay in the mold for 10 min in fridge then trimming it up. When clay is too warm/soft makes it more difficult to trim.

The mica powder trick is genius. I can see that working for faux turquoise too. I love your working with translucent. Holds a bit of mystique.

Yes Joyce I think it would work with most of those chopping type techniques. Made a massive difference and I find it so much easier to use alcohol inks than paint too x

Beautiful rocks! If you cut them out ON the paper going into the oven, your shapes won't get distorted by taking them off the glass surface with a blade.

I tried your technique with the gold and traslucent...but i sanded it after baking and that made a huge differene in the depth! Beautiful!! Love the videos!

Kathryn those cabochon stones look incredible . Brilliant idea!!! There so much potential to try other colours etc...btw that test you did on the conditioned /not conditioned clay is a real eye opener... I've did faux turquoise etc before and used the clay straight from the block using different colour tones...if I'd thought of using translucent clay I'd probably do the same straight from block....but not now I'll certainly condition my translucent clay first so I get a nice clear translucent with no air pockets etc..thanks for sharing that tip....keep those videos and tips coming lol.

Placing cling film over the top of the clay before using your cutter, would give you a domed top.
Wouldn't your clean up be easier if your wore protective gloves, like latex or nitrile? Especially with darker inks. Like the idea and technique, thanks.
