I can't begin to compliment you enough for your extreme details and superb explanations! I have spent the last two hours looking at a few of your watercolor tutorials and now these lovely earrings. I so admire your talent and excellence as a teacher. Your techniques and artistry are fabulous - thank you for caring so much to inform all of us!
I just spent my first day of 2016 watching the remarkable video. Never knew about this at all. I'm definitely going to try this!! Working at a craft store for the past 15 years I've seen this paper in the Fine Arts Dept. but never ever knew you can make this! Usually an Art student is looking for this paper for watercolor pictures that their Professor has instructed them to purchase. I'm a 59 year old woman and I just like making things from beginning to end, all the while watching the end piece evolve. This is absolutely Amazing!!! Thank you sir for taking the time to make this video. PS: found this video from watching your two videos about making the upside down heart earrings. Your teaching methods and the honest tutorial is why I'm watching several of your teachings. Gratefully, Martha
I made a pair of these, thanks to your tutorial. Everyone loves them. They are so light too. You can wear big earnings without the 'ear drag' brilliant. Thank you!
you rock. I love your videos. I love the way you take the care to explain what not to do and less, yes, is more. Consider yourself hugged by a mom/granny who is gonna share this with creative family folk. you're a great teacher, interesting, and choose excellent projects to share. thank you thank you thank you!
Thank you so much for teaching this. You are such a gifted teacher, the way you talk us through each step ...the words you speak are so pleasant not to mention how very your watercolor lessons are I have watched ,painting the flower petals,,all in all you are trully gifted. Thank you, Maria
I watched the Watercolor bracelet, and then the watercolor paper earrings... Thank you for posting these, and you have such patience and explain each step so as to explain the method. I enjoyed viewing and will try this with the water color paper I have!
I just watched how to make watercolor paper earrings. Those earrings are amazing! As a watercolorist myself I would love to make these! Your video was very easy to understand as was all your explanations. Thank you so much for making your video. I will definitely give these a try!
Thank you for this! I had begun to make watercolour paper earrings myself, without knowing there was help out there, but yours are so much more robust, professional, and beautiful. I was using acrylic paint in solid colours and varnishing, but my edges were never right. Thanks again. You are really inspiring.
Sorry for the delay in response - Hurricane Sandy took down power here. That is a wonderful project! I will definitely be in touch to learn more! Thanks for watching!
I am very happy that you have found this project useful! It is always great to see people become inspired to create their own unique objects. Thanks for watching!
Ross, thank you for another wonder tutorial.. You have no doubt inspired many to create their own version of watercolor earrings and pendants. I have learned so much from you and greatly appreciate your sharing of your storehouse of knowledge. How fortunate your students are. Thanks again.
You are welcome! So glad you enjoy making handcrafted pieces. People really do appreciate the time and creative energy that goes into them. Thank you for watching!
I have tried it and have found that you do not get the same, durable and beautiful results with thicker paper as you do with layers of 140lb paper glued together. It is also generally harder to work with thicker paper. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching!
Love this tutorial... Handmade and from the heart... the only gifts I truly treasure... better than any store bought item ever... I can see making things like this from my art journals/mixed media... Thank You for sharing this!!
Excellent video! I found your video and instructions exciting, because I can't tell you how many pairs of earrings I have purchased that don't fall correctly!! YOU are aware of this and have addressed the problem. For that alone, I thank you many times over!! Beautiful work, Ross ... just excellent! Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you so much for your very kind comments! So happy to provide some inspiration! Consider joining our Realisticart Facebook group, where we post photos of what we create and talk about tools and process.
Stunning! Having experience in metals and Jewelry it is interesting that you use the same tools and techniques for paper (where when layered is TOUGH). Thanks again for your video.
so grateful for your tutorials!...I just started painting and find your videos to be invaluable...thank you for so generously sharing your knowledge :)
Wow...absolutely beautiful! Im an artist and I love this idea of using paper to create jewelry. I just start my jewelry collection and look forward to using paper to make beautiful unique designs! Thank you so much for sharing...you are truly an inspiration!
I hope you're selling this stuff and making boatloads of money from it, because it really is beautiful stuff (the bracelets and other stuff too) and you deserve to be compensated for such beautiful work!
Fabulous!!! I've made jewelry from clay and made simple paper beads -- this is FANTASTIC!! and I love how you sign the earrings, makes them truly a work of art.
I absolutely love all your work, I'm going to have a go, after Christmas. So beautiful, delicate and very feminine, thank you for sharing it with us all
The designs you see me demonstrate are my own designs, are copyrighted and cannot be offered for sale, but you are free to use the techniques to create your own, unique designs! Thanks for watching!
I usually don't have the patience to watch long videos of any kind, but this was never boring. The project is beautiful and skillfully done. It also gives me ideas for related projects and variations. I wonder if it would work to apply gold leaf on the edges. Metallic leaf need not be expensive. Leafing glue could be applied to the edges and you'd remove the excess similarly to removal of excess banana paper. I'd never heard of banana paper before. I assume rice paper would work as well.
That is pretty amazing! Interesting that my idea for watercolor jewelry came from a more formal study of colorful enamels on metal. Jewelry was my minor as I studied painting in grad school. Glad you found something that really interests you- I always enjoy this process! Thanks for watching!
Enjoy painting with watercolors! That's the main thing - to enjoy the process. Your skill level will improve with practice. I do recommend 140 lb cold press Arches watercolor paper, as it gives me the best results. Let me know how it goes! Thanks for watching my video.
I am SO excited to discover a way to combine my love of watercolor with my jewelry making. Thank you so much for sharing this process with the world. You did an awesome job. Your instructions along with the physical process of making them is wonderful. Thanks again for sharing! ~Peace~ Debi
I really loved watching your video, these earrings are gorgeous. I do really appreciate you taking the time out of your schedule to make this truly masterpiece, the video is very well informed and well produced easy to follow tutorial. Thank you,
How wonderful! I've been searching for some unique way of creating jewelry, and this is it! Thank you so much for sharing your work, it's greatly appreciated.
Hi Sue, It was nice to read your kind words about my paintings! Watercolor is a challenge, and that's one of the reasons why I like painting with it. There is always the element of "accident" that you have to be sensitive to. Thanks for taking the time to watch my video!
My wife says that the light weight is a big advantage! You can get a lot of color and style from this project without the heavy weight! Thanks for your comment!
Thank you for sharing your work with us! The details are excellent! As a person who has never done water colors I think I could do this! Really great stuff!
Hi Debi, Thanks so much for your kind comments! I feel the same way - enjoy both watercolor painting and jewelry-making. Each piece is a mini-work of art! I hope you enjoy making these pieces - thanks for watching! -Ross
I am so excited to try your earrings! Thank you so much for sharing your technique as well as putting together such a nice and informative tutorial. You have given me the inspiration to get back into creating!
I encourage experimentation! Marbelizing inks will be fine as long as you varnish the earrings. Consider joining my Realisticart Facebook group where we post photos of what we make and talk about tools and techniques. It would be interesting to see your application of marbelizing inks on these pieces. Thanks for watching my video!
Was searching for your video for so long. I refound it.
