Products Used
Polymer clay -
Cernit Translucent (use any you have)
Olive green Fimo, (use any colour you want)
A Scrap of Gold Fimo. A Scrap of white
Mixes
One half inch slice of Trans with a pinch of white
One half inch slice of Trans with 2 pinches of white
One half inch slice of trans, cut in half and add a small dot of colour to one half and a larger dot of colour to the other.
Mix a scrap of gold with the same amount of Trans.
Findings Used
Silver Pinch bail and 20in chain
Wire ear hooks with pinch bail

Beautiful, Very natural looking. ......I like to spray a little puddle of water on the working glass and dip the cutter in it before the cut out. It gives good release from the cutter. dry and on to the next step. Thanks for the great video.
thanks Barbara but unfortunately using water with Fimo or Cernit isn't a good idea.... it turns into a gloopy mess x

I have had the SquarePairs in my cart for 3 weeks. I keep looking at them and debating whether the shipping cost to Australia is worth it...US$22 + US$28 shipping, that equates to AU$70. I decided this morning that they aren't worth that much to me. Was asking my darling & resourceful husband if he could think of an alternative that has a crisp corner. He came back from his workshop with a piece of L-shaped aluminium, that he'll glue a piece of timber into, to make handling easier for me. It remains to be seen how it behaves with the clay. Fingers crossed.

Ohh Kim great idea, I know lots of folk use different household items as shaping tools, yiuve probably not seen the video but a friend in the states sent me the square pairs as a gift, I couldn't warrant the cost either .... although a shop sells them in UK now xx
@@KathrynHalstead yep, I watched your video, which is why I had to comment on the cost of shipping. It takes the cost of the product through the roof, doesn't it?! Did I really want to be spending AU$70 on the Pairs (??), that's a definite no.

Stones are a favorite of mine. I have so many on my Pinterest page - there’s a man who finds beautiful specimens and he cuts them so expertly.
I’ve heard you say you have this friend and that who have made you cutters, that’s awesome.
Your treatment of the clay and knowledge of what it will do is mind boggling - plus, you aren’t at all afraid of experimenting. I haven’t watched these in any correct order although I have hit the notification bell to tell me when you will post again.
I bet these looks just wonderful in person. I haven’t been able to use my computer for a bit so I am only seeing your work on my seemingly tiny iPhone 11. I love the layers and try to stop the video when you show certain aspects of the translucency you have achieved.

My thought exactly. Brilliant use of the cutters to make the earrings. Going to try to follow this video and will watch the 2nd part afterwards. Amazing how a little bit of this and that clay turned out such beautiful pieces. Going to use premo, so sure it will look different. Love this tutorial.

This is not nearly as hard as you think and they come out beautiful. It would be hard to mess this up. It looked a little scary to me but it’s easy and rewarding.

When it won't come out of the cutter, COVER the cutter back opening 90% and put your mouth on and BLOW hard to pop it out...or put in the freezer for 5 minutes..DO NOT freeze the clay, just stiffen it up to let you remove the cutter.

@@KathrynHalstead It looked like chewing gum or fondant! Leaching is hit or miss, these tricks work as needed. I really liked this video, I'll have to try it, thank you...

Hi realistically I should have leached it on some copy paper as it was very very fresh. And yes I just made little holders to help when applying resin as I brush it on. I have a video on resin in my let’s chat about playlist xx thanks for your kind words x

Hi Yvonne, its a chinese one, Qiao Qiao UV Resin hard, amazon and AliExpress stock it, I have a resin video in my playlist I show the bottle on there x
Can I ask you Kathryn, how do you get the resin to not pit and leave brush marks? I have tried your way, is it because you dip your brush in acetone first or not? What resin do you use... Is it a thinner resin? I have just bought a heap of silicone moulds and would love to finish them with a brush right around not just the side People will see...

First practice on some scrap, but yes damp brush, wipe down whatever your applying on, warm resin is always better so use a lighter if it’s a little thick, and let it settle before setting x

Is there a kit or a list of colors and supplies you recommend for novices like me to get our feet wet without breaking the bank or becoming discouraged?
no Kelly I don't I'm afraid ..... you cant go wrong with getting the Primary Colours (Red, blue, cyan, magenta and yellow) plus black n white though .... bit of colour mixing and you've every colour you need ...... Samantha at Jessama Tutorial's has some great videos for beginners though if you go check her out x

i see that you have a fairly new channel on youtube too i also just started a channel i do all sorts of crafts but most;y work with clay and wire making jewelry but i like your channel and plan on watching more and look forward to more new videos from you your work is really good keep up the good work if get chance check out my channel i just started and have been battling some medical issues right lately but i am starting to get back on track and plan on getting more videos out there as much as possible
