    Totally awesome! I love your faux stones. The crackles in this one are so realistic. I can tell you put a lot of thought into your creations. As I love making faux stones I really appreciate your time and effort and, of course, your kindness in sharing how you make them. Thank you Kathryn.

    I have recently found polymer clay, I’m not very artistic so watching you making your jewellery has shown me that even I may be able to pull this off. Those pieces are beautiful. I love purple, so I reckon I’m gonna be making myself some new accessories. Thank you 😊 Merry Christmas to you and yours xo

    Awesome tutorial. I ordered my white alcohol ink two weeks ago. Order was lost. No one here in Reno has it anywhere. I was ready to report it lost. Checked Amazon tracking earlier and it’s being delivered today. Guess what I’ll be doing? Happy Day!!

    I love amethyst and your technique turned out so well! It is this afternoon's project. A question about translucent though - I condition my clay on the thinnest setting I can manage usually a 6 or 7 - because I use a lot of Fimo and as you have found, it is the devil to condition - but, because of air bubbles and placquing (sp?) would it be better to condition translucent it on about a 3 on an Atlas machine? Thanks again for all the great things you teach us.

    For that whispy amethyst stone you have, do you think your smudge technique could achieve an effect that would duplicate that?

    • @KathrynHalstead
      @KathrynHalstead  3 роки тому

    I love your stone technique! You have perfected it. I know citrine/topaz isn't a stone that lends itself to a polymer clay faux technique but can you try? I just love the yellows and oranges in a topaz. Thank you

    You may not like purple but it clearly loves you! What you have achieved here is stunning. The domed square piece has what I was hoping to see. Under the top band of purple is a hazy color showing. Of course it must be purple, but it’s like a misty shadow-like effect. Is that the purple on the back side showing through the translucent? It’s marvelous. I’d love to make that piece. And for the first time I can see what you’ve been talking about concerning the crackle. Did you achieve that crackle just from the alcohol? Are you using a 99% alcohol solution? The others are also beautiful, it’s just that the square really showed off your “recipe” for the banding and use of translucent clay. This is my absolute favorite outcome. Well, I haven’t checked out the link in the description box and may have missed other stone tutorials, so I should say, “Up until now” !
    You are so creative. So well done and thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial. Just amazingly gorgeous. Your “chevron” pendant is beautiful, too. I love the design of that necklace - it’s perfect. Looks like you found a different string to use in the picture. Do you sell your work?

    • @KathrynHalstead
      @KathrynHalstead  3 роки тому +1

      wow lots of questions ..... so yes just purple showing through, yes just crackled with a little bit of mica and alcohol 99% ...i think the others were rhetorical ha ha ha i just do commissions at the moment ... and thank you xx
