They`r so beautiful. It`s so pleasant to follow your teachings Kathryn Halstead. Your peaceful guidanse, and right to the point makes it excellent. The results, the jewelry is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for all the linked tips and info beside.
Absolutely amazeballs, love how you made the layers smoosh together for a more natural stone effect. I'm sure that you'll find a purple loving friend to gift them to lols xx
Totally awesome! I love your faux stones. The crackles in this one are so realistic. I can tell you put a lot of thought into your creations. As I love making faux stones I really appreciate your time and effort and, of course, your kindness in sharing how you make them. Thank you Kathryn.
Thank you so much for doing amethyst! We know it's not your favorite color, but you did it for us because you're lovely! I love your videos so much. It's like spending time with a good friend ❤❤❤❤❤
So glad i had some time away from work......and the first thing i do is settle in with an ice cold diet pepsi and my Kathryn fix!! Just what i needed to destress after a hospital 12 hour shift. Thnks for having this available! Truley lets me de-stress!, 😙🤩
I just wanted to say thank you for doing the captions for your videos instead of just using auto-captions. I’m Deaf and I do appreciate this. I love your videos, you show things clearly and it’s easy to follow along.
Wow Kathryn they turned out so gorgeous! I was on the edge of my seat watching this lol. Thank you so much for this great tutorial. One of my granddaughters saw this and her comment was “Grama you know how much I love Amethyst right, so I would really love you to make me one of these” 💓💓💓
I have recently found polymer clay, I’m not very artistic so watching you making your jewellery has shown me that even I may be able to pull this off. Those pieces are beautiful. I love purple, so I reckon I’m gonna be making myself some new accessories. Thank you 😊 Merry Christmas to you and yours xo
Awesome tutorial. I ordered my white alcohol ink two weeks ago. Order was lost. No one here in Reno has it anywhere. I was ready to report it lost. Checked Amazon tracking earlier and it’s being delivered today. Guess what I’ll be doing? Happy Day!!
I just love your vids- you have such a unique way of putting everything together. just beautiful. I know you are busy but if you have the time- would love to to see your take on lapiz lazuli- thanks so much Kath! Have a great week! -Maria
Thanks Tracy, Im not a big purple fan but that colour mix worked well didn't it ..... i think if i did it again I would make it a tad darker with a grain of black but its a nice colour xx thanks for watching x
I love amethyst and your technique turned out so well! It is this afternoon's project. A question about translucent though - I condition my clay on the thinnest setting I can manage usually a 6 or 7 - because I use a lot of Fimo and as you have found, it is the devil to condition - but, because of air bubbles and placquing (sp?) would it be better to condition translucent it on about a 3 on an Atlas machine? Thanks again for all the great things you teach us.
I love your stone technique! You have perfected it. I know citrine/topaz isn't a stone that lends itself to a polymer clay faux technique but can you try? I just love the yellows and oranges in a topaz. Thank you
I’ve actually found a natural citrine which is very much like the amethyst but using orange and yellow with white bands so I’ll have a practice and see if I can do it justice 😂
Thank you for doing this! I am going to be trying your technique and may have questions about exact types of clay you used when I start. I follow you on all social media except Instagram which I hardly ever use but I love your outcomes. Thank you again!
Purple is not a colour I reach for either , I know it’s massively popular, I don’t hate it ,it’s just better with other colours I think ,good idea with the post it notes, I’m gettin on a bit now,so need all that 😂
Maravillosos!!! Uno de mis colores favoritos el purpura , lo amo con locura . Alguna traducción en español para entender mejor tu trabajo me iría genial !! 😍
You may not like purple but it clearly loves you! What you have achieved here is stunning. The domed square piece has what I was hoping to see. Under the top band of purple is a hazy color showing. Of course it must be purple, but it’s like a misty shadow-like effect. Is that the purple on the back side showing through the translucent? It’s marvelous. I’d love to make that piece. And for the first time I can see what you’ve been talking about concerning the crackle. Did you achieve that crackle just from the alcohol? Are you using a 99% alcohol solution? The others are also beautiful, it’s just that the square really showed off your “recipe” for the banding and use of translucent clay. This is my absolute favorite outcome. Well, I haven’t checked out the link in the description box and may have missed other stone tutorials, so I should say, “Up until now” ! You are so creative. So well done and thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial. Just amazingly gorgeous. Your “chevron” pendant is beautiful, too. I love the design of that necklace - it’s perfect. Looks like you found a different string to use in the picture. Do you sell your work?
wow lots of questions ..... so yes just purple showing through, yes just crackled with a little bit of mica and alcohol 99% ...i think the others were rhetorical ha ha ha i just do commissions at the moment ... and thank you xx

Really lovely work. Hope you enjoyed your time out...
Hi and thanks Melissa, yes ts been nice catching up with friends and family x
สวยงามมาก...
I knife you don't use a lot of colors, but it does help to see what can be done with the faux stones. Thank you, for this tutorial.
You’re welcome Cathy…. I try my best 😂
Thank you!
You're welcome!
They look great. I am not a big fan of purple either but I know people who are obsessed with it.
Yes I get lots of requests….Thanks for watching
For that whispy amethyst stone you have, do you think your smudge technique could achieve an effect that would duplicate that?
yes my bokeh effect would probably work .... subtle colours do give a more whispy effect x
I love your stone technique! You have perfected it. I know citrine/topaz isn't a stone that lends itself to a polymer clay faux technique but can you try? I just love the yellows and oranges in a topaz. Thank you

@@KathrynHalstead I can’t wait!!!
Is there any chance you could make a lapis tutorial? It’s my favourite stone but I can’t find a tutorial I like.
Ill add it on my list Amanda x
Beautiful, purple is not one of my favorite colors but you make it look good, thank you
Me either Leona 🤣. But I was pleased too
Beautiful job as always! 😀

What do you mean when you said you “leached” the clay because it tends to be sticky? What’s leaching?
Maravillosos!!!

Not sure why Diane? My mic was on? Maybe something your end?
