Hi Kathryn..thank you for that lovely video. I do love working in clay, & I agree, think we have all been a bit down lately, so good to keep our crafting genes oiled! Have to say I haven't used inks in Mokume, so look forward to giving it a go!..also look forward to seeing some more of your videos..Regards..V
So glad you are back & I hope your feeling better ❤ I love this the ink & the opalescent clay looks fabulous. Thank you for getting back into your clay. Xx❤🥰
Awww, I need to make something like this for my mom. She’d love it. Thanks again for sharing. You’re my favorite polymer clay UA-camr. Much love from the states, Tanya
Welcome back Kathryn ❤️. I believe we can all relate to what you’re going through; we experience it as well, some more than others. However, when you come back, it’s with a bang! I truly adore the heart pendant, especially close to Valentine’s, and your order earrings and pendant are also gorgeous. Everything you make is so elegant and delightful. The earth tones you have chosen add a refinement to the pieces. Thank you for sharing another winning tutorial. Keep well ❤️🤗
Thank you for pushing through this. I adore your style. I keep wanting to go down to my studio but haven’t had the umph for some reason. You’ve given me my mojo back - I think. I hope you’re feeling better. I haven’t been following you long enough to know what your health issues are, but 🙏 and 💕 to you.
Fabulous advice when trying to get out of a creative slump. Always enjoy your videos and your creations are wonderful. These turned out so beautiful. Would have never thought to use all browns but they work wonderfully. This idea will help me get back to creating! Thank you, Kathryn!
You not only inspire me to return to my studio but lift my spirits. Can't wait to experiment with this newest tutorial. More of your fabulous designs. Thanks. xo
Thank you so much for your inspirational videos which get me off my ass and into the studio. Also THANKS for your source of supplies. I got the egg poachers in a day through my Amazon Prime here in Vancouver,Canada...Yay.
Yes loss of mojo can be very frustrating. I really like how there is the wee bit of red colour showed up even tho you didn’t use red. They are beautiful. It was so very nice to see Doris as well. Thank you Kathryn you give me hope. 👍👍👌👌🌟🌟🌟❤️❤️❤️☃️☃️☃️
Can tell you I've been in a rut too, it's a good idea to just get stuck into your craft of choice, I have been wanting to get back into clay but haven't yet, there are a few of your tutorials and clay boutique's that I've fallen in love with so will get my butt into gear and see if I can do them some justice, I'm a big crystal lover so you could guess which ones I'll be trying out first, I made a block of mother of pearl and cannot for the life of me remember where I put it... 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤣 Thanks Kathryn. 💐🙏
So happy you and the fabulous Doris are back! Great tut and thanks for sharing this. I do have a question, how many times did you cut and stack your block? As always, love your videos and the way you explain why you do something a certain way. And I always love the guest appearance of the fabulous and famous Doris!😊❤😁
thanks for the tip with nail files i never knew you could get different gradients with them, your pieces you made today are just darling i like them very much thank you for sharing, have a great day
Hi Kathryn, Happy healthy new year to you with love and lots of creative moments. I love today's pendant and earrings very much , very elegant and they look realistic stones. Very good tip as well, to use nail files for sanding. When applying the sheets, would you recommend to wait a little bit for the alcohol to evaporate before applying the next sheet? Thanks a lot.
Kathryn, I’m sorry your not feeling well and having a flair up. Just wanted to let you know I’m thinking of you and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers! Feel better soon! 💕
Lovely, colours are fab don't know how we lose our mojo.... but I fully understand... But watching you always lifts my mojo, and inspires me, so thank you
Hi Kathryn, I’ve just found your videos which are brilliant an so lovely to hear a fellow northerner’s voice (live down South now). I’m new to polymer clay and wondered where you buy the silver things that you put the pendant and earrings on before baking. Thanks.
Kathryn, do you think your 3 sided pendant and matching earrings seem very like your mokume boka? I do. They are so stunning. I can’t wait to make these. That opaline is very gorgeous, it gives the feel of porcelain to me. Then that lovely amber color. Just gorgeous! I want to thank you for your opening remarks. There’s so much you said, but the main thing for me was getting out of a rut. You are so right! You couldn’t be more helpful. It must be so wonderful to have a group to clay with. There were more tips than the rut point. I’m trying to say all of these comments you make are very helpful to someone like me. Thank you very much. Do you know if the translucency looks better in real life than you’re able to capture on camera? I’m just wondering as I couldn’t see it - just the beautiful milkiness of the piece. But if ice water is the way to go, I’d go that way! What if you were to put in 2 squares of translucent in lieu of one. I love translucent pieces! You mentioned you were using Melanie Muir cutters. Do they also have a glitch where the sides of the metal meet? Do you know of any metal cutters without that connecting portion! I mean solid shaped ones? Happy Claying! Be well, please. Your kitty, Doris is wonderfully adorable! I’m so glad you have chosen to make tutorials. Thank you!💕
Beautiful 💜! I really love what one can do with alcohol ink. Technical question - I've learned In resin and on paper the alcohol ink isn't colorfast and in time fades. Does it fade over time on polymer clay too or does maybe a chemical reaction or baking or something make it colorfast permanently? Can I expect the color to be the same in say 10 years or longer?
I’ve heard similar things but have yet to see proof of it happening in clay 😬 I have had it happen yupo paper with ranger inks but I suppose this can happen with lots of colour media over time x
@@KathrynHalstead I keep watching to sees…I am so thankful to read that you’re doing better. Thank you for taking the time - you must have a ton of mail! 💕
I’ve been in a major rut, my holidays was pneumonia, then was recovering from that to have Covid hit our entire family. I am past a rut, lol I’m looking for the energy. I see all kinds a prettier’s to make but the rest of me says not yet. lol on top of that lost a crap ton of weight, not a diet I recommend. But this is so pretty, tfs hugs
Ooh I love how this turned out! I’m so glad you free styled this one so I was so bummed we missed out on the technique part lol I was wondering if you topped the stack with opaline or translucent? I missed that part
Awesome thanks love!! I made this last light but I chickened out with the mokume gane part so I twisted up a couple slices off the stacks bit and made it into these faux jasper dagger earrings and they turned out super cute! Same clay and inks just a different ending approach
Dear Kathryn i'm worried about you i miss you! I think of you and i pray for you. Everyone loves you. You're my friend overseas. See you soon stay healthy kisses 🌎🌍🐞🍀🤞👍🙋♀️Daniela
WOW! Those turned out quite lovely!!! Thanks for sharing!
So beautiful! I like that you made the earrings go the opposite way from the pendant.
I love you artistic ideas and I love to hear your talk! You’re very Calm and relaxed. You make it easy to understand what you’re doing. Thank you❣️
