    Fab, thank you Kathryn. You have cracked this for me, I like the look of the soft pink rose quartz but other tutorials are to much on the red side for me. This effect is how I personally like the tone of rose quartz.

    Hi Kathryn….very, very pretty! Thank you! Little hint on the cling wrap….when you place it over your piece, be sure it’s quite tight and the over-flow of the cling wrap should be pushed down on your work table. Since I’ve been doing this, I rarely (if ever) get creases in my clay pieces. It certainly gives you a nice beveled edge, which I really like! Happy claying!❤️

    I used the fimo rose quartz and white translucent and it turned out more white. I used pearl liquid clay as I didn’t have alcohol ink so that may have helped the more white turn out. Will post a picture when I polish it up.

    These are just gorgeous. I can seriously say that as a beginner in polymer clay, I have watched A LOT of videos. I’ve seen where I want to be one day but it is a long way off. But this is one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen that might be something I will succeed at. Thanks for that and thanks for the inspiration. 🤟🏼🤍

    Wow I love this, but I love roses quartz, lol it is beautiful, what is the other one that is a crazy one, dragon vain I think it’s called, wonder who that would make up using close to the same concept, just heavier on the veining, the rose is gorgeous. And yes have to admit it’s been hotter then “beep” here state side in California, we had a few cool days but next week scorching again 100*f I think around 30-35*c miserable and no I haven’t played with clay for a while now. 😢 so glad you had fun with the youngster, I hardly see mine they all live over 1500 miles away, and the oldest ones are closer, but still don’t get to see them, I don’t have a auto, so it’s on them. And I’m proud to say I have grand baby # 10 do here in November, 6th granddaughter. lol they are a pure joy, and glad your back and healthy. Tfs hugs

    Kathryn, what brand of clay did you use? I watched a video with Kalyana yesterday where she compared Pardo translucent with another brand and the difference was striking. Samantha at Jessama Tutorials has said the same thing. Pardo has the best translucent but it doesn't show up as translucent until baked and cooled. I am thinking you might have used Pardo as well as these pieces are gorgeous?

    • @KathrynHalstead
      @KathrynHalstead  3 роки тому +1

      Hi I use Cernit….. I adore Pardo but it can be a little bit tricky to work with so I don’t film with it often, but it is amazing clay. Cernit is a very close second in translucency…. One of my faux stone videos is with Pardo

      It’s a tricky one I’ve tried it too, seen many attempts but I think the best I’ve seen is by Yvonne Williams and one by Libé Bulletin (she gives credit to Yvonne) she nails the “flash” which just can’t be achieved with just polymer clay xx
