A dog, your equipment, and beautiful nature to yourself, is.... nothing better. Thank you.
Agreed. We had fun together. Thanks for joining us on the adventure.
For me walking the mountains with my best friend is one of the cherished moments of my life and your dog must make your life better for it
They say a man is blessed if he had one good woman and one good dog in his life. I don't know who "they" are, but that sounds about right.
Awesome ending, cool. Oh shot look out behind you it's a, it's a, oh a rabbit no wolf. Oh no Daisy lookout.
susquatch. ;-)
@@meMiner LOL!!!!
LMAO!! The need to pick is strong in this one! I shut 'er down when it's all buried and frozen! xD
You are smarter than me.
Lovely winters day indeed. So cool that you have wolves!
Thanks for taking us along on yours and Daisy's walkabout. Looking forward to your southern detecting adventure. Take care.
Thanks for joining us...
Great video. You had a wonderful day for prospecting. I appreciate your sharing. Thank you!😊😊
Thanks for joining me on the adventure.
Mr. MeMiner you definitely took us a wintery hike through the woods for Crystals , Daisy she had some fun Me thinks you did too!! thanks for the adventure!!!
We enjoyed ourselves and were ready for some supper by the fire when we got home.
Gorgeous photography! That big chunk, I want to see you working on that one! Great video!
Thanks Judy. I was happy to share my adventure. I love the look of fresh snow in the forest.
Great video!........watched it at work ;) (don't tell the boss).............looking forward to the metal detecting trip video.
Glad you didn't get busted by the boss. I look forward to going south. Should be an excellent adventure.
Thank you for your videos! I love rock hunting, never knew others did too! Not looking for anything special, every find is! So happy to see you out there! Hi Daisy! Happy Holidays from Quebec!
Thanks for dropping by and leaving such a nice comment. I have never rockhounded in PQ, but did some gold panning a few years ago along the Maine border. I agree with your attitude...any rock I find myself is special. Daisy was tired from this adventure, but is eager to go again now.
Sure looked like a fun day and your puppy sure had a fantastic time
Daisy loved it out there. No bugs. LOL
Stunning 😍 thanks for sharing.
Thanks Anna. It was a fun day, but mostly just a hike because of the snow cover. Daisy loved it.
DITTO!
That was fun! Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Thanks for joining me. it was fun
Very beautiful place in the mountains
Well I'd have to skip this trip yet look at you, I'm enjoying watching under my nice warm blankets, Thanks
It was a nice day out with Daisy. I was supposed to meet up with a friend, but I guess he was smarter than me. LOL
Hi it's Deb from Michigan. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. Really enjoyed the video.
Thanks Deb. It must look about the same where you are. Enjoy your holidays. I am already anxious for spring.
beautiful out there!
I love it.
Thank you for the beautiful walk in the woods. I can smell the freshness and feel the edge of the cold.
Remarks about the tracks are cool. We often had similar visitors in N Maine- all but the wolf.
Daisy, enjoyed it for sure.
Best wishes to you and yours this winter season!
I am seeing more wolf tracks these days than when I was younger. I even saw a wolf close up when deer hunting this year and another at distance when moose hunting. It is quite unusual to actually cross paths with them. They are usually around, but shy of humans.
Rockhounding in the Snow !!!!!!!! Great video !!!!!!!!!
I probably should have gone in the direction of Niagara Falls instead. It is a bit warmer there.
@@meMiner made for a good video !!!!!!
Thanks man!
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year. Beautiful country. Good hunting bro.
Thanks E.D.
This video is awesome, thank you for posting it!
Thanks much! It means a lot.
made my first 2 excursion, big part because of you, thanks again
Great to hear!
Hope you have a merry Christmas as well
Thanks Grassguy
Merry Christmas to you too... MeMiner. I’ll keep on watching you...
Thanks Zenaida! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
hahah Miner, rockhounding Titanite Hill in December. Im just glad you didn’t drive down the road.. would have been troublesome for sure.
I probably could have done it, but the snows aren't on the truck yet and a few of the hills might have been a concern. Good luck getting a tow truck into there. Walking made more sense.
After your close encounter with a tree, I could think of a few more things to carry with you, always. An emergency survival blanket, an emergency transponder (see Currently Rockhounding's video on what he carries in his first aid pack), and a gun (coyotes, wolves). I so enjoy your videos and have learned a great deal. Thank you so much for sharing!
And emergency kit is always a good idea, especially when alone.
That was pretty going in to rock/crystal hunt. Never know what has been tangled up in the tree rootballs when are exposed for you to check. Thanks for sharing! You and your Family have a wonderful Christmas / Yule / Winter Solstice and a bright New Year.
Thanks SareJen!
The important thing is you and daisy were motivated to get out have some fun .
Very true. Better than staying at home.
Stay safe and really amazing adventures
Thanks Nikito
What a nice walk thru that beautiful countryside..much luck on the jewelry finds...Wishing you and your family a safe and happy holiday...
Thanks Yvonne. Keep well.
Don’t you just love Daisy 😍😍😍😍😍🏴🏴🏴
Daisy appreciates the nice comment. ;-)
Beautiful trip. I spent the day here in the pacific northwest metal detecting in the rain along the river. merry Christmas and good hunting on your trip south!
Hope you found something metal detecting. If not, there is always next time. I bought a new detector for my wife (hehe) and am eager to try it out.
Yep I use that line a lot also:)
Think they know? Or when it comes to detectors, will they just claim the good stuff found with "their" machine?
Yes my wife claims the female jewelry of any value from any machine but lets me purchase and sell her much needed equipment as often as I can!
I'm a thinkin' the spot by the trail where there's no snow, is where a female squatch waited all night for her big hunk of a man (you) and fell asleep, thinking she had missed you when she awoke and went home disappointed, to make a new plan. Be expecting her. : ) Be Careful and maybe leave her a crystal to appease her. Love your channel.
I would believer you, but suspect she might have left a footprint in the fresh snow. Or Daisy who gets pretty jealous would have sniffed her out. LOL Thanks for the laugh.
Merry Christmas to you and yours. :-)
Thanks Michael
Reminds me of the day I went to McDonald mine in the winter before they filled it in. Four feet of snow and 20' icicles hanging over the large adits. Was a sight to behold!
And....did you find any crystals? Hopefully, you got some pictures of the 20' icicles.
@@meMiner Cyrtolite Zircon, got pics too. It's a different world up there in winter.
Merry Christmas to you! Your adventure in the snow reminded me of fun times with my black lab, Woody. He's been gone a long time now and others have taken his place, but his boundless energy lives on! Looking down into the holes was really cool. Thank for taking us along!
Thanks Gwynn. Glad you still have fond memories of your Woody in your heart. Their lives are too short, eh?
I bet your finger's get wet and cold digging in that winter freeze. Looks like the season finale, till spring.
It was a nice day and not so cold. Otherwise, the fingers are the first to get wet/frozen. That is certainly it for that area until spring.
Nice
Thanks my friend
looks amazing where you are. That huge crystal was awesome! those people that were there before you really missed out. Have a very merry christmas and a happy new year to you and your family
Thanks Isabella. All the best to you as well.
The pit at the 17:29 point of your video looks like the spot the Caver461 and Jeff Collins were digging in one of Micks videos , they were both digging towards each other and if my Memory is correct this is the pit. I've never seen Daisy so full of spunk , she really enjoys going out in the woods with you . There were a few nice Apitite specimens in the bunch you discovered, although I'm sure the monetary values on Apitite are not high ( I dont really know the value) it is truly my favorite, Thanks again for sharing another interesting and entertaining video and I'll be keeping my eye out for any new uploads .
The only guy who I have seen dig faster than Jeff is Beau (Aquachigger). LOL
@@meMiner I've seen Jeff dig like theres no tomorrow when we were working on my cave ( it's not really mine) and that kid has a ton if energy , he came through my work last week and we talked for a few minutes about next season and what was on the menu. Have a safe and bountiful trip when you head south .
Ahh, but Beau digs with both hands. I have only seen a honey badger do that. Keep well my friend and next year we will get out rockhounding together.
@@meMiner Quite looking forward to heading out with you in the new season.
Tremendous loving it
Amazing🐕 👁 Thank you 🌲🎆
Thanks Daniel
I hope your gonna hook up with Chiggs. That will be another entertaining batch of movies.God you gotta love our part of ontario. We get snow but not too much.
We got an early snow this year and so far it has stayed. I now think it will be frozen until spring.
Awesome adventure sweet area to walk and you found some 👍🏻👍🏻. Winters be safe looking forward to your next video. Merry Christmas and a fantastic new year thank u
Thanks. It was a fun day.
Meu amigo,,que lindo heim?..
Parabéns pelo vídeo..
Meu amigo
I do enjoy all to teach and share.
AWESOME !!
Lindo lugar deve ser muito frio show parabéns super like abraços
Meu cachorro e eu gosto de estar lá. Espero que a neve derreta logo.
That was great haha shoulda crawled in there! I'd love to do this with ya sometime I know I'd learn alot from you.
I think you would enjoy it. There is something special about finding nature's bounty
Loved the video man! The snow, the crystals, and of course daisy havin a blast but also bein such a good rockhound companion. Such a different terrain to what I’m used to so it was just great to watch. Thanks meMiner!!! Always is 👌💎❄️
And oh wow the big one at the end! And you totally found plenty of interesting things to see there brother!
Merry Christmas to you and the family!
Great comment. Thanks for joining me on this adventure.
Amazing
Merry Christmas and very Happy New Year to you and your family also meMiner. I hope the season brings you all you could hope for and more.
Thanks my friend. I think 2019 will be a good year.
Very good! Neve 😬☃️❄❄
Thankyou Cácia! Neve = Snow?
@@meMiner yes, ☺
Good good. Love the spelling of your name, by the way. It sounds practical and at the same time beautiful. Perfect combination. Thank your parents. ;-)
Love that, thanks mM , Merry Christmas to you
Merry Christmas my friend
Wont be long now you will need the ole Snowshoes. Great Video !!
I have various kinds of snowshoes. I also have a snowmobile. I am good to go for whatever winter brings on. On the other hand, I think I want to go south to dive, cave, rockhound or metal detect. ;-)
Good Luck to ya !!
Fun time👍 merry Christmas and see you next year 😊
Thanks my friend.
Espetacular
Thanks
Well truthfully I don't get to go anywhere, I am a hound without any rock to hunt.
Daisy was going back for that wolf I think, not only did she have fun wandering around she also had fun standing guard over you, I'm sure you noticed.
Shame it gets so cold and icy, it looks wonderful and is a gift from nature but sometimes it's better on a Christmas card.
Did those appetite fall from the roof of the cavern?
Some nice little pieces with good colour.
The piece you chiselled out was a nice cluster, was that also appetite of a different colour or was it originally appetite and cooked?
Have a wonderful time while you are away, I will let myself in when I get there and keep the home warm for your return, lol.
Good luck detecting, stay safe buddy.
I don't know about the crystal on the cluster. It has the right shape for apatite but wrong colour. The other black crystals are anthabol and I am thinking maybe it once was an apatite and is now a pseudomorph. Perhaps, others smarter than me can advise?
The other apatities were probably moved by whoever dug the hole. What I noticed when editing is there were some shapes of larger apatites in the mud that were obvious on the shovel but I missed them after then were dropped onto the snow.
While I am away, Daisy will be at a camp for dogs. I am sure I will miss her and will want to hurry home.
meMiner
I knew it them pseudo were trouble, always changing their minds, are they all female? lol.
I'm sure Daisy will be content in the hands of professionals, don't be overly quick to return, allow me to get out first. lol.
If you were here, she would be happy to stay with you as long as you take her out daily for a walk in the woods. Sometime, you have to visit and collect some rocks. Only problem is - how will you get them all home?
meMiner
I'm sure she would show me the daily route for walking and checking her territory, remarking when needed.
I would love to go hounding with you, as for getting them home, I would have to be very selective, practical pieces only and definitely no specimens, return with nothing but rocks in my luggage and become a big bad wolf ( he got cut open and filled with rocks ).
Nice thought though, thanks for that.
Symon, I know you can't hunt much over there but you contribute so many good comments and are great at adding intelligent conversation to the community, it is much appreciated :)
You are Crazy to think this was Not interesting !
Ya make me feel like I am there with hounding wit ya .
👍 😎 👍
Thanks for finding it interesting...
I hope you go back to that spot! I'm super curious to see what you find. This was a great video of winter rockhounding; maybe there will be more from you.
It has been quite cold and has snowed more. So much for global warming. ;-)
@@meMiner aww that's too bad!! Canada has some of the best rockhounding when there is no snow. ;)
We seem to have two seasons: snow and then mosquitos. LOL
I have a trip planned soon to go metal detecting for jewelry in the water. I am really looking forward to a warm vacation. It should make the winter a little shorter. In the meantime, Amy and I plan on a short trip to go snowmobiling and ice fishing. Hopefully, I will have good video to share from both...
Yeah I hear ya. We have way too many in penetang!
I will probably head towards Penetang next spring for a combo rockhounding and fishing trip. Have new ATV, will travel...
Great video thank you for all the good times ...where oh where did you get that BEAST of a shovel my husband sure would like one for christmas.....merry Christmas to you and your family Cheers
If you are in Canada, I got it at Radioworld.
Omg....the toys n tools you have i cannot believe price of toys to make you men Happy miminer you my rockhound friend are high maintenance poor wifey....lmao kidding thank you for info merry Christmas
Nice video!! Looks pretty! 💜💜
thanks kitten whiskers
Maybe a lone, male juvenile moose yarded there before he met up with his new buddies? He was so despondent about his mom (the old cow!), kicking him out at only two years old! No basement living with gaming buddies chugging caffeine drinks to stay awake for the whole marathon!
Oh, what a lonely boy!
It will be a long winter for the moose with those wolves around.
Cecilie Christian Hahaha....so typical!😂👍🏼
@@McChrister So glad to know I can still get a laugh!
Have a beautiful, chill holiday season, Dude!
At 4.00, it seems to be compost heap. Pile of rotten leafs composting. Compost is an exothermic process so it must have melted the ice above it.
Good suggestion. However, this was bedrock with just a single layer of leaves.
I was wounded if you use a long Afro pick too get the gold out of a crevice they have a few out there the one with real long teeth on it 6to 8 inches. For those individuals with blowen out afro’s it mite work there just sponge cake
Knifes check it out you mite have something there I’m glad you thought of it ....cool !...
Good info. Thanks
Good one meMiner, I know the area well. The uranium mine is fenced of, to many geo-cachers. Anyway you are on the tip of the iceberg for finds. Go north on the road to the park.
I have stumbled across a few geo-caches in the area. That is a fun hobby
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Ahh lovely, a super road trip and I didn't even have to leave my arm chair (Not that I can too well presently!) To be in such convivial company, meMiner and Daisy the steadfast companion and champion Rock Hound, what could be better, eh? Enjoy your Christmas and safe travels - tragically we just lost our beloved Kelpie, she was only seven, so we hope in 2019 to find a new Kelpie pup as a friend for Harvey our Border Collie - you just can't be without their amazing love. May all your Adventures be rewarding & exciting, too... 🕸🕸😎⛏🐾🎥🐾🦌⛄
Thanks for such a warm and thoughtful message. Sorry to hear about you Kelpie. She was too young, but I bet had a very good life and knew she was loved. Keep well my friend.
@@meMiner Thank you - you, too, she was our Most Beloved and like Daisy with me at every turn, watching everything that went on - an enormous presence. We have to treasure them while they are with us - looking forward to seeing your trip Down SOuth - although it won't be as South as us!! But, I miss the Northwoods, even the snow and the pretty icicles - keep warm and enjoy the blessings of a happy family Christmas 🕸🦌🐾❄😊
People and their pets, eh? When I had to put down my black lab (Tess) of 16 years, the next day I had a takotsubo cardiomyopathy. It was the best thing to do, but felt so much like a break in the trust with my best buddy. 40% damage to the heart and I probably should not have survived. All better now, but it goes to show their emotional impact on our lives. My trip south will be to Aruba. I am really looking forward to it and still need to figure out what gear to take (without overloading).
@@meMiner Oh you poor soul - so we both had a Special Tess, (my husband had a black lab, Rosie) - but I can certainly appreciate that deep physical loss - it is devastating - and then the emptiness that follows... We're planning on finally getting back to England after being in Tasmania now for 11-years ( a bit further South than gorgeous Aruba - lucky man! I lived around the Great Lakes for sometime too, hence my love of The North) before any other disasters happen - the folks are getting on but sometimes it takes a horrible event to crystallize one's vision and galvanise goals. All the best to you, your wife & Daisy - safe & happy travels, G 🐾😊🥂 Glad you're fit & hearty nowadays...
Australia and Tasmania are on my bucket list for a visit someday. I am sure that I would like it so much that I would not want to leave.
yes Great video but I would not be up there in the bush alone for fear of a wolf pack happening upon ya. You have more nerve than me my friend
My only worry about wolves and bears is for my dog. You see the shovel I carry? That is all ya need in a confrontation with an Ontario critter (or hillbilly). ;-)
Viva canada my friend i am from quebec and megantic
Never go in a cave where you hear breathing... Look a hibernating bear... oh wait I think that's just your dog.
Great advice. You can also smell them. I am pretty sure Daisy would know a bear was around before me.
10:21 AGREE!
radioactive , or moose puddle ?
Big moose, no footprints? LOL
If we cannot explain it, must have been aliens.
My husband laughs at me saying look at this rock it’s so beautiful lol about every rock I pick up. It’s true though 🤷🏻♀️
When I started out collecting, I went on a field trip with a really well known collector. His best advice was "if you like it, it is a good rock...keep it"
meMiner great advice 👍
nice size crystal winking at you 22:26 you missed brother
I miss quite a lot when also trying to video. I usually see them in editing when I am home and hours away. ;-)
Well my friend, I shall be looking out for you then!
Looking out for me where? We crossing paths?
Of course we meet! We have a Tim Hortons! 😜
I live in pensacola fl., what part r you headed to? Come on down!!!🏖
I am flying overtop and keeping on going for a few hours....Aruba
did you ever find out about those bare spots in the snow? radioactive? what kind of brown rock is at 7:25 ?
Probably slightly radioactive.
id love to go at highway 155 km 88 Quebec , i heard its great and we could do a meat at some point, have fun
Sounds great!
Would Daisy bark if there were wolves?
She barked at a coyote once, so I think she would do the same if a wolf showed up.
I am trying to watch but, I keep expecting the evil Fischer Cat to come running down a tree and going after Daisy!
Daisy could take care of a fish cat. LOL
Actually, fisher are really mean. They are killing machines for smaller critters. Even bears give them a wide berth.
Yeah just keep us hanging, like Netflix movies
Well hung? Look forward to video from Aruba. We will do our best to get some good video...
I love your videos so much fun. I was thinking I could add you to my Facebook abmnd then I could show you some of my crazy minerals. I got a bit of agate so full if tiny shells you can barely tell the color of the rock lolz It's really pretty just crazy looking. My Facebook name is Michal Wintz.
I don't often use FB but will look you up and send a friend request. Look for it from Greig
I'm looking for a place today...
Good luck!
Thanks Lisa!
You would not be who you are if you weren't going rock hounding at this time of year
true that
Cold looking video, it's snowin here now. caver461 & Jeff cleaned out all the big ones. Found the place at www.mindat.org/loc-216821.html
Keep warm. Thanks for the info.
Will that sample clean up nice?
I am not sure. It has nice shapes. I will wait until spring to play with it.
@@meMiner NOOOOOOO! Wait until Spring??? Yep, you said it right. It's like Net Flix leaving us hanging!
😁😁😁😁
LOL I keep telling Amy that I want to cancel NetFlix, because have not watched anything since they had The Detectorists. She cries out "NO" too.
Noooo! Don’t show a cave! AQUAChigger will want to dig it out!!!!
I think he would like that hole I dropped the rock into. It looked to go down about 10' and then widen out into a real cave. I bet it is stuffed with crystals.
Goody your, handsome
Obrigado meu amigo. Eu gosto dos vídeos no seu canal. Continue postando.
@@meMiner thanksssssssss
