This is a wonderful experience that you will want to do over and over!
Sunstones are a variety of feldspar, they are very gemmy.
Sunstones coming out of Oregon are very unique with their size and colors!
This location is open to the public, check their website or their facebook page!
❤ I love the colors, and that little one with the green right in the middle. All of them were very awesome. Thank you for sharing your experience with us 😊 Thumbs-up 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤😊
Wow, what an amazing place to dig! My 85-year-old father has been a rockhound forever, but can't walk very well anymore. He lives in Oregon - this would be a great place to take him for a little bit of rocking fun!
My wife and I went to that same mine and dug in a virgin pit and in an hour we got close to 2 thousand sun stones and we only dug about 1/3 of our pit. A pit size is 36"×36..If you dig the whole pit you should have ALOT OF SUNSTONES. It was 100+ degrees when we got there and there was no breeze at all and we had to leave after awhile. My advice is to get there early and bring a large outdoor table umbrella and lots of water, a long flat head screwdriver that has a 1/2" thick shaft thats about 18" long and a 3 pound hammer. Good luck and happy hunting.
What did you do with 2000 stones? o_O
Oh wow that’s a great hit 🙌💎💎💎⚒

... you mean the norse God Odin...
YES!
I live in a country where there hardly anything to prospect. This why your video's are such a joy to watch.
What a beautiful stone! They would make such pretty jewelry.
🌟 Looks like a great rockhounding location!
Thanks for sharing. 👌
Hey brother 🙌🙏⚒ yes it’s a fun spot
That is amazingly beautiful. I don't think I have ever seen that before. You always give us great content. Thank you.
I just bought a gorgeous sunstone ring while in Boston. It’s not from Oregon. India I believe. A nice orange with copper inclusions. I never heard of sunstone. So I researched and found it was mined in Oregon! Guess who has a brother in Portland?? I will definitely check out this mine and the other mine on BLM land.
I love the music. I am going to be going over to the Spectrum Mine soon. I like the Fallout as you zoom in on the great Sunstones at the end.
I love your videos. You get me excited about digging in the dirt! And I love it!
Like a kid in a candy store picking out the sunstones from the conveyor belt could see the genuine excitement 😂 thank you for sharing! 😊 kinda looks like watermelon tourmaline!!
Yes it did feel like that, LOL
I was thinking the same thing about the tourmaline.😊
I have never heard of these before and I shall have to ask my son if he has heard of them. They are beautiful, the blending of the colours is so lovely especially when held up to the light. Thank you for showing us these little beauties, I've learned something new again. Take care my friend, Mary-Ellen UK
Nice job on the spectrum mine ! Lots of great scenery and a hot spring or two not far away
I’ve been hoping to go back and missed it this year from the fire and heat. Yeah I found out about the Hot Springs after I left, that would be really cool to visit
You r really having fun Bryan! Thanks for the video, enjoyable to watch it too🌈✨
🙌🙏💜💎
Brilliant video, stunning finds and looks like such a great time findin the gemy goodness! Thank you man!
Thanks so much🙌
Wow such pretty colors and clarity.
Whaaat I am in Oregon I love your channel you're great thanks 😊
The spectrum mine has beautiful stones and many options for customers . I've been going there for years and met people from all over the world there to dig sunstones
This video made me smile. Thank you.
I've been here twice in the last 10 years, and my wife and I will be heading there again this year. We've never left disappointed, and I highly recommend buying an hour at the conveyor if you can - we got some giant ones that way.
Thanks for sharing even more coolness! It makes my day!
Really enjoy your channel, mellows me right out. Those stones are so mesmerizing, how clear they are and such pretty colors.
Thanks so much for watching! I’m glad you’re enjoying it
I love the crystal collector I wish I could go to all those places. But I enjoy watching him showing me places I could never get to.
AWESOME!! And, living in Washington, it's actually close enough for my wife and I to go check out! Thanks for the video!! 👍😎
Yeah this place is super cool, it was really hot and smoky a month ago when I was near enough to go. I didn’t make it, got bummed out but I guess next year I’ll get there early! Yeah I should check it out for sure, it’s a awesome location!!
I've never seen sunstone in person, but I love feldspar and would love to visit Oregon one day
Yay. I'm near Portland. Thanks for visiting. Come back soon.
So clear, with Beautiful splashes of colours 🌝💜✨
Couldnt help but notice the game songs. Your probably a gamer on your time off huh. When your not collecting crystals, your playing fallout. 🎮😎 Keep it going though. I Enjoy your vids. Makes me want to go collect some crystals too

Can't believe you're out here in Oregon - we're in Eugene! You have the best crystal collecting vids! I hope you come over to Eugene!
Oh that’s so awesome! I’m going to be back up there for a couple of weeks next summer and hang out longer!
Wow! All the way out here in Oregon. I live in southern Oregon, but have yet to go for sunstones. I’ll just have to do it this next year, looks like a fun time. Thanks for the video and the info. Well done like always.
I'm from Southern Oregon also and have never been to dig sunstone but that's gonna change this year! Looks like alot of fun!
Awesome finds beautiful
Really cool! Thank you for sharing this.
My son gave me a ton of big “ rocks” full of sun stones. I haven’t got them put yet. I’m really excited to see what’s all in there
I’ve been hoping you would make a video at Spectrum. It’s an incredible experience all around. I enjoyed all of the collecting methods they have, and I highly recommend the belt run to anyone who makes the trip to Spectrum. Happy digging!
Thanks for watching! Yes I’m going back next summer and hanging out for a couple of weeks and do a bit more of the belt run myself
Sooo cool! I havent heard of them before. So pretty! I love them
Love your videos!
I've been a rockhound, and especially a crystal collector since I was a little kid. Well, I'm so glad I've been going back through your videos. This one called to me because of the image you used for the primary photo of this video. I was amazed, and a little upset. See, several years ago I got interested again in rocks and crystals, as I was about to retire, and ready to spend some time doing more things I enjoyed, not just so much dumb s*** I had to do for 20+ years on my job.
I bought some rocks that I thought sounded cool, and some awesome quartz crystals. But I also bought a couple of "sunstones." I had never seen any, and really should have Googled it. I got two rocks, but seeing the images of the sunstones you are digging out of the ground, well, oops.
Somebody sent me a couple of nice tumbled...orange rocks. Some kind of agate-ish quartz.
Thanks for this nice lesson in checking things out better and a learning experience in how awesome is sunstone!
Yeah the some stones are really cool, super unique and I believe the Oregon location is the best in the world!
And now I know where were going for our next road trip! I knew it was there but I wasn't sure if it would work for us. Thanks!
I’m digging your videos man...brilliant stuff
your channel is awesome!
Thanks 🙏
Holy smokes this is some high quality gems
Looks like candy chunks. 😍
I AM from Brasil ,but i love your UA-cam Chanel ! Tankyou

Amazing stones .. thank you man for amazing vids you made
When I was living in I Idaho there was a man who sold them. I never got a chance to buy one as he died. I had heard the government had closed off the area. I'm glad your digging some maybe I can get one from you next month. Ms Michal
Are all medrites iron, and can they be glazed as they inter the atmosphere looking as glass glazed greenish?
Okay, I'm sold. I'm planning a trip there.
I can't believe how beautiful they are! I haven't been to Oregon since I was a kid so maybe it's time to plan another trip (if the CAD/USD exchange rate ever improves, that is.)
Love the old-school video game music. N64 Zelda Nintendo Mario. 👍👍😂😂
Thank you 😊 much love ❤️ first time this summer was at Oregon coast gotta check this out
amazing channel,,,thank you
Great video!
Oh my goodness I love these! Never heard of that place. Not to far away.
Great video
Native Oregonian since 1959. I have a friend that has a sunstone mine too. Your accent sounds like you are from Iowa or Nebraska. My uncle has the same accent. Lol. I stunning stone.
Yes, originally from South Carolina
Hubby and I went there for our 15 year anniversary. We're so in love with the area. We almost bought the house and cabin out there. ...But those mosquitoes 😆
hi gothic just wondering... i live in the MUCH wetter part of Oregon (Coastal Mountain Range) and I almost never see mosquitoes. Were you joking or was the area you were looking in really mosquito ridden? Seems strange, especially if you were looking in the high desert areas near Plush... but, then again, there is a lake nearby sooooo... I dunno, just wondering. Hope you found a happy place to land with a kick ass mine nearby ;)
@@auntie-angie-2112 the mosquitoes from that lake...near sunset.. Good grief! I think i might have eaten twenty or so, and inhaled two, just trying to escape them.
They are just so beautiful 😍 I would love to get my handy on some of that for my jewelry
I’ll be finally having some of these ready to sale here in the next few days I think, probably will do a Facebook show in a few days
I love your vids!
Almost had my chance to go to Oregon this past July. My husband had a business trip but our work was being weird about it. I wasn’t going to bother him much, really! I was going to rent a truck and take off for glass butte for a day or so. Wanted to bring back my son all the different types of obsidian. I admit it. I’m a bit jealous! 👍
Yes, I never got around to the obsidians places either but next summer I’m hoping to make it out again! I hope you make it out there one day
I love sunstone. I will have to check it out. Hope you do one for tourmaline.
I was watching your newer stuff with my daughter and thought, I wonder if he has been to Oregon for sun stones. Wasn’t disappointed.
I’m hoping to go back in a couple of months or less! Maybe spend a bit more time this round, it’s such an awesome area!
Man, I would get down and dirty. Mother Earth is the only way to rejuvenate for me😄
These are so lovely, they deserve a made up word. Beautimous!
Maaaan... all we have here in Indiana is limestone. I really need to take a roadtrip to dig up some pretty rocks
Yes go do it🙌💎🙏🙌💎⚒⚒⚒
There are NICE geodes in Indiana...
Limestone has geodes doesn't it?
Look in the rivers in Indiana I have a great collection of Quartz crystals, Feldspar, Agate, Moonstone, and fossils. Look for were the stones pile up and when the water is low splash the rocks with water and you will find treasures.
Atleast you have rocks lol i got sand and shells in florida
Beautiful I want some😍💓
kool , thanx...very nice , Rock onnn
Robert
Very cool mine!
"So I gotta carefully"
*smacks it with a hammer*
😂
on the 6 min.mark what were those green stones? all rocks are treasures to me! cool finds! great video
Those are Sunstone! The scene look particularly green hued for some reason... but the green and red are a play of colors due to the copper in the Sunstone!
Awsome stuff
Wish to have one of thise multicolor sunstone...so beautiful
Looks so fun
Brian enjoy all your video's, did you get a higher definition camera, the quality to me looks better then ever. have you ever shot video hunting Oregon thunder eggs, say like at the Richardson Ranch? l would love to watch a video with your take on a thunder egg dig in central oregon. Rock on
Didn’t get a new camera, just learning new techniques and learning to speak a little louder too. Yes I want to go to some thunder egg locations next summer, I’ll be hanging out for a while there then. This last trip was kind of a rushed one
Hmm. Me thinks I should visit my neighboring state. So pretty!
Love his hand...😚😚
The rocks are so pretty, I've been there.
I saw all your interesting videos and Im waiting for new video with impatience
I just got back off a trip out west, I have footage for about four or five new videos, I’ll be putting them out very soon
