Just nice man, damn what a good day exploring. Beautiful crystals mM, love it 💎👍 Your mate is such a cool character, you can tell he loves his rocks dude. So good.
Nice alliteration during your intro! I'm in love with Ontario now! What a rockhounder's dream! I rockhound in southwest New Mexico near Deming. I'm working fire agates from Deer Creek right now, but would love to get back north where you can reach into crevasses without fear of scorpions, rattlers, spiders, etc. Thanks to your buddy and you for taking us along.
meMiner Back in ‘78 I had my first tour of duty in Northern Maine. 40 years and many ocean crossings later, I still pine for that vast beautiful cold north, moose, snow, and invigorating lifestyle. By the way...as an Arkansas girl crystal collector of bygone days the term for clear quartz is rock crystal quartz. The larger, clearer, more defined terminating points increase the value considerably. Wish I still had some of my childhood stash! I love listening to your voice and watching your face light up. It’s like watching a child in a candy store or seeing the Aurora Borealis the first, second, third, fourth.....
What a fun adventure! thank you for taking us along with you! As a Texan that's tired of the hot, dry, and flat scenery, this is such a fun video to watch and get lost in!
Thanks for sharing another great video,oh the fun you can have with a ATV weeeeeeeeee and get to so many places off the beaten track.Hey why not give Daisy girl a ride too CHEERS (always good times with my mining friend )
When Daisy was a pup, I put her on the back seat. I put down some shaggy carpet so she had some grip and did not slide around. She didn't like it much and preferred to run out front.
Oh my gosh where to start thanks for inviting me to go hunting with you lol I'd be like a kid in a candy store theres so many crystals digging for days lol thanks for sharing this video meMiner this was awesome
Thanks for this rockhounding video. And I have to say that this revealed some findings. Here, where I live, in the south of Norway(Lindesnes), I have discovered 12 old abandoned Feldspar mines. And found large feldspar crystals as long as a human arm, in solid Quartz boulders . Somewhat similar to yours. And Muscovite, Biotite, Molybdenum, Beryl, Pyrite and Uraninite, which no one hides under the bed, because it is radioactive ... :) (Kenneth Prospecting Norway)
Your up early. Have a good day and thank you for the video,,,,,now I find myself doing a lot of ooou. Awh ing..... But all the same good Job 👍 ...keithy out ....
Hey Guys... I"m just getting into the mineral world with the help from a very good friend who has a lot of experience as well.. Great video very informative so thank you very much... I moved the Joe Rich area last September so this spring is going to be the start of my rock hounding , and I hope to see more vid's from you guys as the weather gets better... Cheers.
Thank you for the video..I love rock hounding but my family hates it because I have boxs of crystals and rocks....I also found a spot of blue clay with lil diamond looking things in it...The pretty blue clay produces real hard stuff I can make stuff with its so cool...
I love it when your rockhound vids are longer. I like watching videos that are full of rock and crystal collecting. Any rock hound will always be happy when you find something amazing! But they cant help but feel a little sting of jealousy. 😁
I grew up in Nebr. In the creeks an river, there in the creek it was a where I got started in looking for various things one thing lead to a nother. I ve found camel teeth cave bear tooth prehistoric buffalo historic buffalo and a rino jawbone which the teeth were opolised. Now all are musiums in Nebr. I've also have found artifacts early woodland through Mississippian. I was lucky enough to have a arkaolagist take me and teach me. Well that's enough for tonight we take more later. Jim
It was a nice area to walk around with the mature maple trees. I always wonder about remote locations and how they were discovered. Probably forestry, hunting or trapping folks talking to miners or farmers in the area.
The crystal clusters with a plethora of points found in Crystal Vein Dyke's presence may possibly prove preciously persistent. Daisy and yourself are in a wondrous paradise for prospectors.
Daisy loves it. I should do a video getting ready for work (she does not lift her head or get off her dog bed) vs try to sneak out to go prospecting. She follows me like my shadow and barks at me as soon as I put on my jacket or shoes...
Those mushrooms are definitely edible, they’re the type that helped me recover from my aneurysm! They are a type of Lions Mane mushroom and they’re amazing for the brain! You must take me there pretty please 🙏
A few years ago, I sent a couple of pieces to a friend in Sweden (eucitizen on Treasurenet) who is an expert in such matters. He said it was too soft for jewelry. As such, it is just a cool looking specimen for collecting. I especially like when it is in a cluster with other crystals.
Titanite is a fine gem when it's clear, but we don't get facet-grade in Ontario. The cleavage makes it hard if not impossible to cut cabochons, which would only be dark brown-black anyways.
The mushrooms were cool..do you even see chaga in your travels? A Canadian friend just sent me a hunk. I love it..seems to help with ole arthritis, anyway..great video..learned a lot!
I made some videos slicing stones and hand polishing with wet sandpaper. I liked using 100 grit to remove any evidence of the cutting wheel. Then I use progressively finer grits and the polish really starts at about 1500 grit. I got some sandpaper up to 7000 and that does a great job. When using the fine sandpaper, keep it clean with rinsing so you don't scratch. And let the weight of the rock press down. Good luck!
Love your videos! I have fibromyalgia and it’s hard to get out. I miss getting out in nature, but plan on trying to get to now that the weather is cooler. How old is Daisy?
We are not suppsed to have blue clay can you tell me what I might find....I have found orange and blue crystal rocks awesome...How to get a claim???? Can you make a claim on state property????
The regulations on claims change from province to province and state to state. I have only owned claims in British Columbia (Canada). I don't know much about the rules in the US. There should be good info online if your search it up for your area.
Hi Kristin, Diamonds are typically found in clay pipes in the throat of extinct volcanoes. In the US, you may file a claim with the BLM for the mineral rights if it is public land. If the land is private, perhaps you could negotiate an arrangement with the owner, or purchase the land outright after ensuring the mineral rights transfer with the ownership.
Dude, there appears to be some very nice crystal minerals combination specimens there. Why not take in the proper tools and get busy there? I'd love to dig there. The things that the old diggers left behind laying on the ground indicates there must be some fine specimens that have been found in the past. I'd go crazy on that place if I were you!
It's a species of Hericeum and it is one of the best edibles out there, There are several species and they are all great eating and there really isn't anything that looks the same in our part of the world. I usually envy your rock finds but this time I envy your fungus finds.
The big rock is still on my steps getting washed by the rain. I will probably cut it down and try to recover a cluster as a shelf specimen. The smaller clusters and individual crystals for now will go into a labeled box.
Yes. Muriatic Acid...but you have to be careful with it. I like to dilute it with water. Don't use it inside, mix it with any other chemicals, breathe the fumes or get any in your eyes or on your skin. (ie. look up how to use it safely before experimenting with it). You can buy it at big box stores or swimming pool supply stores.
A dumb question here. You made a video of dissolving calcite from silver. You can't do that with crystal can you, seems like it would dissolve the quartz crystals also. Am I correct???
Quick answer is carbonate minerals (eg. calcite) are generally affected by most acids and silicas (eg. quartz) are not. There are some acids that will dissolve silica, but not the ones that people would generally use outside of a lab. Heck, some minerals will dissolve with water. So you have to know what you are dealing with or sacrifice a sample. If you search up "mineral solubility table", there is some great info online.
It is somewhat common near Bancroft, Ontario. It can be found in other places in the world but is relatively uncommon, so therefore has good value to collectors.
The prior truck was a Chev Avalanche and the truck bed was so narrow that the wheels on both sides rubbed. In this truck, the ATV hangs out the back a bit eh? I have a trailer, but it is nicer to drive without towing. The big issue is driving at night because the weight in the back raises my headlights. Next truck will be larger.
I see, if it were me I would think about reinforcing that tail gate, its not designed to carry very much load. idk, maybe some adjustable straps to help it.
Is your puppy limping? I saw a beautiful video the other day an ode to a rockhound by “Rocks” the UA-cam channel. You really should watch it it’s beautiful
Daisy jumped off a cliff down by Lake Ontario...trying to go for a swim. She didn't break anything, but there is some kind of damage. I have meds for her from the vet to help with the pain, plus special food and monthly shots.
I'm a old rock hound and now living in Iowa which in this state all I can find is fossil and geoids. I would like to find other minerals if someone out there can give me some ideas I would really like a little help. Thank you
There is quite a bit of info online. Check out mindat.org. Also, here is something I found: www.iihr.uiowa.edu/igs/publications/uploads/2015-12-17_15-12-27_em-6.pdf
It is a good idea, but difficult to do in practice. Humping water around, along with tools and camera is not easy when alone. I don't have a good solution other than wash them up afterwards, but am open to suggestions. Maybe I can put a water vest on Daisy?
Hey buddy hope all is well ,, you have enough wood make sure your generator is working ,,, and food I think you got. that taken care of ...well I’ll be a round before Christmas and if I don’t make it give hugs too everyone friend. Black dog down....⚒⛏⚔️🗡🙏🐾🐾🐾✝️🛐🛸🎵🎶🐾🐾🐾”yo Ho yo! Ho!,,,,this is the life for me”
Watch the video on free power ,,, 2 Motors one belt , light bulb , and wall switch ,,, one turns the other your light bulb act as a capacitor , switch cuts too stops the rig ,, if you use a washing machine motor it has 220 out runs on 110v. ,,, video is better to see for lay out ,, Sorry I’m trying to keep my mind bizzy ,, thank you
Interesting stuff. I have a generator, but not hooked up to my homes electrics. I can keep my women happy if I start it and just plug in the internet router. ;-)
Thank you for letting me ramble so I'll move on ,,,,have a good day tomorrow stay warm, high here is 35 degrees 📡📡, now off to see if I can find a Large coil to bury under the power lines to se if I can backward engineer Technology .
Restaurants buy those mushrooms right out of you hands. They love buying fresh mushrooms. The one you saw was one of them, Expensive . Daisy NNnnnoooh,,,,,she ate them.
I have had her to the vet a number of times. She gets injections and pills. They help a little bit but she still limps a little bit. I am not sure it will ever go away.
Get medal detector, find highest reading for "Gold", left or right. Find this fossil, look for the feet, Think ; Mud flood. Dig tell you find gold nuggets, think big giant feet. There lays the gold. Follow where the fossil fell dead ( dig Deep) , or. Laying down Look for feet and head. The gold is always in the feet.
You really must stop panting like that, it teaches poor Daisy bad habits, lol. Both coral and chicken fungi are sought after by quality restaurants and hotels and command a really good price. Busy, busy, busy, so much to see, such a shame we can't see what you do, the camera rarely catches the beauty the eye can see. Well there certainly was plenty to choose from, people discarded crystal that most never get to own. Thank you for the day out, not that many wild animals really, a deer, a salamander and a brown beaver, there were a couple of scary looking hounds though.
Ha ha I love seeing Daisy. She is a great Pup. I have the same truck as you. Love that thing. So versatile.
Mine a US truck, so the speedo is in miles. Just passed 190K miles and no sign of it slowing down.
Aww Daisy is so cute, I love seeing her exploring. She must be great company on your excursions.
Daisy is always ready to go exploring, always in a good mood and only wants to share my lunch, not my rocks. Great rockhounding buddy for sure.
Carol, she sounds the same as I when I’m Rockhounding. I become a drooling mouth breather, too!
Just beautiful! So much fun to watch. Thanks for sharing!
Rocks are so cool! Thank you for another fun adventure!
Sweeet area some beautiful large crystals and clusters thank u and your friend for the video
Thanks for thanking him.
Just nice man, damn what a good day exploring. Beautiful crystals mM, love it 💎👍

George is one of the good guys for sure. ;-)
I have never been to New Mexico, but have seen pictures. Looks like a wonderful place to explore. Fire agate is lovely stuff.

Thanks for dropping by.
You really get some nice opportunities to explore good ground! Those leeks were a nice find should've took one. I always feel better after I take one😲
I eat them quite often but not from that area. I had no way to clean them properly and many of the rocks nearby are radioactive.
Didn't expect to hear that! I tend to stay away from radioactive leeks also I think
You live in an area with such an abundance of cool minerals. Love your videos!
Thanks much!
really nice apatie, im begining to love em more and more . Two new spots for me , one with beryl group , the other silimanite
Just got home from work and I get to watch another great video from another great youtuber. ( one of my absolute favorite youtubers ).
;-)
What a nice claim. Lucky guy!
thanks
Learning so much, thank you as always, awsome video 😊
Ive watched you for sometime now, before I even had a UA-cam channel, so it was on my TV. Your videos have gotten better. Good job
Thanks. I still have a lot to learn, but am trying my best...
Puppy sure does seem to be enjoying himself. All those different smells.
She always has a good time out there. At this time of year, she misses it.
Amazing whenever am free I just go to ur channel and enjoy ur adventures keep up the good work man ❤️❤️
Wow. Thanks for such encouragement. ;-)

Sounds like a wonderful place to explore and probably a pegmatite. Keep your eyes open for zircon and smokey quartz near the radioactives.
Thank you for the good video and Have your benefits .I love your video
Thanks for dropping by and leaving such a nice comment.
I like exploring the rocks when I have the opprtunity to walk into the forrest.I like natural,Thank you very much for your reply
And here is a the zest of life we all need ..I've honestly never seen a guy as happy or content as this man ..
Such a nice comment. Thanks
Biggest flush of tooth fungi I've ever seen! Tasty shrooms those! Nice finds too!
You definitely know how to enjoy life.
Life is good. I love the out of doors. ;-)
Looks like a good area !!! Good luck
When you turned on the light it reminded me of an old saying, When the blind man picked up his hammer and SAW!! Lol
I see. ;-)
Your up early. Have a good day and thank you for the video,,,,,now I find myself doing a lot of ooou. Awh ing.....
But all the same good Job 👍 ...keithy out ....
LOL That video took about 5 hours to load. It completed when I was sound asleep and Daisy was snoring....

Nice. I have not found any fossiized teeth, but think now that I should have looked for shark when I was looking at fossil coral when inland in Aruba.
Oohhh myy gosh I would LOVE to go there ! You would have to drag me away I’d be in heaven ❤️😍
That's a really cool spot! Almost got me interested in crystals even lol makes me wonder how they found it in the first place in the middle of nowhere
It was a nice area to walk around with the mature maple trees. I always wonder about remote locations and how they were discovered. Probably forestry, hunting or trapping folks talking to miners or farmers in the area.
Some awesome finds!
i like very much to see diffrent kind of kristal
Awesome trip, thanks for sharing... Peace
Oh my gosh I’d love to go hike ‘n hound that property!
😯 so many finds 😍👏👏👏👏
It was a pretty good spot. I would have liked to have a week to explore.
In Western Pa, we call that mushroom, Sheep head.
Can clean it, then freeze it.
Great videos
Thanks for the info
The crystal clusters with a plethora of points found in Crystal Vein Dyke's presence may possibly prove preciously persistent. Daisy and yourself are in a wondrous paradise for prospectors.
Nicely done!
😛Good times with Daisy 😍😍🏴🏴
Daisy loves it. I should do a video getting ready for work (she does not lift her head or get off her dog bed) vs try to sneak out to go prospecting. She follows me like my shadow and barks at me as soon as I put on my jacket or shoes...
Thank you 😊 beautiful crystals
Thanks Paige for dropping by.
Those mushrooms are definitely edible, they’re the type that helped me recover from my aneurysm! They are a type of Lions Mane mushroom and they’re amazing for the brain! You must take me there pretty please 🙏
Just watched this video again, love your videos and Daisy ☺️☺️🏴(how old is Daisy)
Daisy turns 8 this month. What should I get for her birthday?
A-dog collar with one of your tumbled stones and her initial on it 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🎂🎂🎂🎂
Will that titanite cut and polish up good? It's a cool mineral. Wish I could get my hands on a few pieces.
Hey I live in Oregon. I love your videos. Would be fun to go hunting!. Just bought an awesome tile saw. Do you have any tips on hand polishing?
Daisy turns 8 next month. Maybe I will take her rockhounding for her birthday. ;-)
Ah, good old Bear Lake. Lots of minerals, but no bears and no lake, lol.
really like this place, it reminds me of home
+1inscrito +1 like do Zeca Brasil-RN lindas paisagens belas pedras otimo video show bela prospecsao 👏👏👏
Thanks!
“Don’t want to crush him, I’ll very gently put this rock back” boom, he dead lol
LOL I am sure he was fine. If you notice, I pulled the rock back onto a dirt ledge.
I was watching that one carefully, too. I noticed the ledge.
Good conservation!
That was an educational journey me.miner. K thanks
hey i know this guy! so cool seeing him in one of your videos!
Awesome video
Im shocked at those crystals just hanging out in the wall!! I would have gone home with 5 tons of rock from there! LOL
We are not suppsed to have blue clay can you tell me what I might find....I have found orange and blue crystal rocks awesome...How to get a claim???? Can you make a claim on state property????

Love your video how do you know
what crystal are deadly
The simple answer is to treat all rocks like mushrooms. Assume they can harm you if you are unsure.
How do you spell anthibol? Never heard of it
Sometimes, the way I say things is weird. eg. "aboot" vs "about". It is spelled amphiboie. In this case, most of it is a form of Fluororichterite.
MeMiner, do you own a rockshop?
It would be so awesome to be able to purchase some specimens you’ve found.
I collect for fun and don't have a store
Very nice 👍👍👍
why is some mineral seems to be looked down upon? i often hear its only calcite, or its only feldspar . is it because of the abondance ?
In an area of plenty, looking for well formed crystals and clusters. ;-)
so many crystal its giving me high level of anxiety, of missing out
It's a species of Hericeum and it is one of the best edibles out there, There are several species and they are all great eating and there really isn't anything that looks the same in our part of the world. I usually envy your rock finds but this time I envy your fungus finds.

thanks for replying
looking forward to your next video
As a new rockhounder I would've put all those rocks in my pockets & dragged my britches out of there! LOL It all looks like treasure to me:)
You can always tell a happy rock collector, because the rocks in his pockets pull down his pants. ;-)
I know viginer works in desolve calcium from my stones is there any thing quicker to work with, the viginer take a good week.
Yes. Muriatic Acid...but you have to be careful with it. I like to dilute it with water. A dumb question here. You made a video of dissolving calcite from silver. You can't do that with crystal can you, seems like it would dissolve the quartz crystals also. Am I correct???
I guess I should have waited to the end of the video, you ansered it in the video. 8-)
Never a dumb question! What one misses another learns with repetition, repetition, repetition
A dumb question is the one you don't ask.....

3:27 was that a Daisy fart? lol
She has been known to let a few rip. Usually, there is no noise but there is no mistaking what happened
I often hear people speaking very highly of titanite. Is it an expensive/rare mineral?
It is somewhat common near Bancroft, Ontario. It can be found in other places in the world but is relatively uncommon, so therefore has good value to collectors.
Crown tipped coral?♡
I think so. ;-)
Terri W no, it’s a type of lions mane
That four by barely fits in your truck bed, did you measure the truck bed before you bought it?
The prior truck was a Chev Avalanche and the truck bed was so narrow that the wheels on both sides rubbed. In this truck, the ATV hangs out the back a bit eh? I have a trailer, but it is nicer to drive without towing. The big issue is driving at night because the weight in the back raises my headlights. Next truck will be larger.

We’re do you live in Ontario if you don’t mind me asking I live in Lindsay and wondering were to look for silver in ont
I live in Port Perry (about 45 minutes drive from you). Best place I know for silver in Ontario is Gogama and Cobalt .. about a 7 hour drive.
OMG you are in Crystal heaven 😍
It was a pretty good spot. Hopefully, I get an invitation back. ;-)
Which minerals shall I looking for on a place of Oilshales and Limestone?
I would look for pyrtie in the Oilshales and in the limestone look for vugs containing fossil coral, calcite crystals, galena, fluorite, etc.
@@meMiner thx. You are my teacher on the internet.
Why do you leave so many good crystals that are still in host rock?
In a loose cluster or stuck in bedrock?
Is your puppy limping? I saw a beautiful video the other day an ode to a rockhound by “Rocks” the UA-cam channel. You really should watch it it’s beautiful

wonderful gorgeous super show like hugs
Thanks for the nice comment. I have subscribed to your channel. ;-)
Nice video.
why dont you take a little water bottle or spritzer and a soft old toothbrush so you can clean and see the crystals better ?
I limit the amount of stuff I carry.
I would have collected the leeks and the mushrooms sauteed them to add to some scrambled eggs.
And you would have had a feast. ;-)
Hi, meMiner. I like to go hunting crystal with you. Maybe someday. I love daisy too.
Sounds good. Daisy and I just got back from trying to rockhounding today. It was more of a hike and dog walk with all of the snow. LOL
I'm a old rock hound and now living in Iowa which in this state all I can find is fossil and geoids. I would like to find other minerals if someone out there can give me some ideas I would really like a little help.

It is a good idea, but difficult to do in practice. Humping water around, along with tools and camera is not easy when alone. I don't have a good solution other than wash them up afterwards, but am open to suggestions. Maybe I can put a water vest on Daisy?
