    This is a fantastic video. Saved me several hundred dollars on a service call to do something that wasn't really that hard to do. Follow him step by step. When you turn the drum you can hear the bad roller and when you take the front off you can see that the roller was totally worn out. The back rollers looked good from a visual inspection and I am glad I didn't have to tackle them.

    I couldn;'t see much wear on the roller , is it the internal bearing that goes bad? I might have to do this on a much smaller LG dryer DLEC855. I guess I may as well just replace all the rollers and belts ..I have had the dryer for 5 years .....thoughts?

    Just turn the circuit breaker off. You don't have to unplug the dryer. It should be a 2 pole, 30 amp breaker in your panel. Turn it off if marked, and see if your dryer comes on, if it doesn't, then that wasn't the dryer. Most likely one of the AC units, flip the other 2 pole, 30 amp breaker off, if your dryer doesn't turn on, that's the one. Mark it, tag it out, and proceed with your repair. It makes things a whole lot easier than pulling your dryer away from the wall in order to open it up.

    Okay so I don't get this. First of all if the rollers were defective we should have seen something visual or something indicating the flaw within the rollers themselves. Never saw that. Just saw him swap out the rollers. And then at the end of the video he didn't turn it on showing that this is the corrective measure. What's up with that?

    what about two back rollers? replacing just fronts is a hack job.

  • @wsalinas1
    @wsalinas1 8 років тому

    Why , you did only ½ Job..?
    You change only ½ Bearings , in front.
    You must to change in Front & Back...?
    How do you recognize the bad bearing..?

    • @Appliancevideo
      @Appliancevideo  8 років тому

      We take every circumstance and repair based on what the customer wants and can afford. The back bearing was not making any noise and the customer was on a very tight budget. Its been over 18 months and still working great we were just there to fix her ice maker and double checked the dryer.

    So basically the noise came from rollers that needed to be replaced?

    • @Appliancevideo
      @Appliancevideo  10 років тому

      Yes , the roller bearings were worn and needed replacement, causing the noise. I always use a cheap Harbor Freight electric screwdriver for jobs like this. Enough power to remove and replace screws, but not enough to damage anything.

      Nope, an adjustable impact driver is by far the best way to remove/install the screws with no risk of stripping them out.

      Take into account how many screws they turn on a daily basis. All that manual repetitive motion could contribute to tendinitis and/or carpel tunnel.
