THANK YOU to STEVE & to PARTS SELECT for posting this video & all the other videos of appliance repairs. With your instructional videos I've fixed both my LG Washer & LG Dryer completely on my own, because of your incredibly excellent "How To Fix" videos that you have posted. Your videos are by far the best UA-cam DIY videos that I have seen on the internet. Well filmed with close ups of everything, excellent explanations of each step with lots of good tips. Very good instructional videos, Steve. If you already are not doing it, you could walk right into being an Instructor at a Trade School/College. Awesome videos, Thank you for posting and allowing us homeowners to fix our own appliances & being able to save hundreds of dollars & perhaps thousands of dollars by being able to repair our own appliances. Many thanks for sharing your expertise. Please continue sharing and posting your videos!!! Thanks so much from a very happy homeowner, Len

Steve. Our 2007 LG dryer is purring like a kitten. Your clear and thorough instructions allowed us to replace all four wheels as well as the belt, and we had an opportunity to clean and vacuum inside the cavity. When we took the drum out, I thought to myself there’s no way this thing is going back in but with a little patience and your direct instruction we did it. Thank you so much.

Instructions were super detailed and accurate - having bought an aftermarket kit online from Amazon for ~ $30, originally was only going to replace the (outer) roller that was bound up with what looks like my wife's hair, then while I was at it, ended up replacing all the other three rollers, the idler, and the belt and vacuumed out the inside, which unbeknownst to me was totally caked in lint - now the dryer is essentially like new - Thanks again.

Update, cheap amazon rollers lasted part way thru the first load. But your excellent video had me tearing the machine apart again in no time. The nylon hubs of the rear rollers split in the middle alowing the outer half and rubber to fall to the bottom of the machine. Fortunately i saved the old ones and put the best 2 back on. Back in business. Less cursing this time. Just at amazon. Again, thank you.

I just want to thank you so much for sharing this video! You were so helpful! This is the 3rd time the rollers have been replaced in the last 4 years. The first 2 times were by appliance service people at $250 to $300 each time. They were much faster than i was, but i also changed out the bearing bolts that hold the rear rollers. That part wasn't included in your video but you made the other stuff seem simple enough that i thought i could figure it out. Success! Those back bearing bolts were very well worn and needed to be replaced. All of the new rollers came with them so they all got swapped out. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I never even heard you curse in the video so i made up for you.

This is an incredible training video. Organized, easy-to-follow, simple to understand, well-produced. The trainer is absolutely a gift as a teacher - he makes it sound and look simple and clearly explains each step and what to look for and look out for. He takes it apart and puts it back together - and that is important as well. Often the process of putting something back together again and not missing anything is harder still. Thanks for a great video. Great job, Partelect (who I also use a lot - great support, parts, prices).

Thank you for this video. I had a seized roller in the back of my dryer. I replaced all four plus the belt. I was stuck trying to figure out how to get the belt and tensioner back in place. You provided a perfect closeup of how to route the belt around it. The rollers I ordered came with the axles completely assembled so I took the extra step to replace the units as a whole (use a 10mm and 14mm wrench to remove and replace). It is now running as quiet as the day it was new.

Thank you so much for this video! I ordered the repair kit for $28 total off of Amazon, but turns out that I don’t need it……at least for now.
I have the LG DLGX7188WM Steam Dryer. After watching your video, I was able to completely take mine apart, only to discover that the wheels were still in good shape. Since it was taken apart, I vacuumed out the entire inside of it. It’s amazing how dirty and full of lint it was.
It turns out that with my dryer, somehow an ankle sock got sucked into the squirrel cage blower and half of the sock was in and half outside of the blower inside of the dryer. When the squirrel cage blower would rotate, with the sock half in and half out around the edge, the sock was going in between the wheel and the dryer drum making what is almost an identical sound as a bad wheel(s) with the bearings having failed. The sock was creating a “speed bump” that was causing all of the racket like a failed bearing(s). I simply removed the sock, cleaned everything, reassembled it and the problem was resolved.
As far as disassembling the dryer, with the steam version, you do not have to remove the plastic steam unit on top of the dryer. My dryer is in a VERY small cramped space and I was still able to remove the drum without having to move the dryer out at all. I didn’t even have to remove the two screws behind the door in order to remove that entire front door/fascia panel from the dryer. The only moving I had to do was to slide the dryer out about 6” further from the back wall in order to remove the first three screws which hold the top panel of the dryer on.
From start to finish which included cleaning the dryer was about two hours. Maybe a bit longer, but not much. This, in a cramped confined area as well.
For anyone that is going to attempt this, it is actually a pretty easy job to do. What I did to make reassembling everything easier, was to mark each screw hole with a sharpie so that you immediately see which hole had a screw, because there are multiple holes. In addition, tape each screw to the portion of the section that you removed it from as you disassemble each part. While most of the screws are the same size, this will guarantee that you have the correct screw for the hole that it came out of.
There is another disassembly video of the steam unit dryer on UA-cam, but the gentleman disassembles way more parts than need be. Such as the steam unit and using wrenches to take off the wheel units from the front and back. No need to remove the dryer door from the front fascia either. No wrenches are needed at all. As the gentleman in this video shows, it’s the triangle retaining clips that hold the wheels on, should you need to replace them; no wrenches needed.
This video is invaluable for repairing this dryer. In fact, it shows that once you disassemble it, you now have access to replace anything else that may have gone out. Once the drum is removed, there is a lot of room to work inside of the dryer. There actually are not too many parts. I am glad that I was able to clean the motor, because it was covered in lint.
Thank you so much for this video, Sir!
    Cheers, from Texas

great video. Bought a roller kit off amazon. Replaced all rollers, belt and spring roller in less than 2 hrs. It's much simpler replacing the whole roller assembly than just the roller. Use a 10mm wrench to hold the front and remove the rear 9/16 nut. The video should've shown that to access the rear rollers for complete removal, it's just remove the rear few screws holding in that plate on the back wall.

Thank you so much for posting this video. You saved me so much money and I can't believe I have managed to fix my dryer. Your step by step guide made it so easy to follow and without that I know I would not have had the first clue how to do it. Again, thank you so much!

I had a constant grrrrrr. ing sound from my Dryer, not a thumping. I took it apart using this video and a few others and found that there was simply a fabric softner sheet that somehow had gotten sucked into the impeller and was spinning with and against it. I didn't need to change the wheels, but thank for the help in getting all of it apart to diagnose it!

I followed the video step by step and the video was perfect for changing out the support rollers and drum belt on our LG dryer. Really appreciate the perfect narrative.

Besides the lack of using a Dollie (only caught that at the end) this was probably the greatest how to video I've used to date. Just needed to pause as I replaced the rear wheels also. I really apprioappreciate this as you saved me hundreds of dollars on a new dryer, now we can run it and not have to scream to hear each other talk.

VERY GOOD video Steve. I changed out the rollers in my LG and your video made it SO SO EASY. In addition, he shows you how to put it all together again so yo don't have to go back in the video and figure it out. Thanks again!!!

Hi Steve! I just have to say THANK YOU for this video! I ended up replacing the front two rollers as I didn’t want to tackle the back rollers, put the dryer back together and that didn’t fix the thumping noise. So I went back to tearing the dryer down once again and I replaced the back rollers and it is now fixed! I should have just replaced all four rollers while I had it torn apart in the first place but I was intimidated by removing the drum but it actually went very smoothly thanks to your great instructions! It cost me $20 to fix. Thank you again!

Great video!! Easy to follow and thanks so much. Only thing else I could have asked was how to remove the bolts that keep's the wheels in place. My kit came with all new wheels and bolts, so I decided to replace everything. Once again, thanks so much !!

Great video. My dryer had to be done absolutely in place without being moved an inch. And, it took a 9 pound sledge to get the top off. That said reaching the screws top to back blind was a challenge. Tip: As I'm prone to drop tools to unreachable places in awkward situations like this, I placed an eyeglass strap on the shorty Phillips and other end around my wrist. Thanks... without this video I'd have never found those screws.

Very helpful video. I followed your instructions and my LG TROMM Dryer is now fully functional like I had purchased new one in 2008. The only thing I did different is that, I changed the Rollers completly with the shaft since my rollers came like that and also for the back rollers I just detached the entire panel from the back wall other then that the video made my life easy and saved me big money from buying a new Dryer. I ordered the parts from Amazon in a bundle of 4 Rollers, 1 Idler pulley and Belt cost me around $39.00. Thanks for good Karma and helping people.
