  • Salicylic and Glycolic acid are perhaps the most well know and wildly used skincare acids, so I start off the video laying the baseline.
But my favorite and most underrated skincare acids are mandelic acid, azelaic and tranxamic acid deserve more attention for their ability to tackle dark marks and the acne breakouts that cause those dark marks in the first place.

I've been a BHA girl for decades but lately my skin has grown more sensitive. Thanks to your info on mandelic acid, I'll try that next. Always glad to see you sharing knowledge!

listen i love my mandelic acid from The Ordinary, esp under my water-based hydration gel and SPF 50 moisturizer (Naturium). i’ve definitely seen a texture reduced, glass-like difference in my face… and of course, decreasing my hyperpigmentation. i would love to hear more about kolic acid (like in Topicals Faded) or Niaminacide. i’ve heard mixed reviews on niaminacide…🤔

Glad you shared where you get your mandelic acid. I have very prominent hyperpigmentation from acne and was like "where do I get my hands on that??"

Definitely glad to see you posted 🎉 will literally watch anything you upload. I’ve been a PHA girly but I’m definitely interested in trying Mandelic and Tranexamic Acid. Can we get a video on the caution or tips of mixing acids. I feel like a lot of skin care lines have added acids and introducing new/more acids can be dangerous.

This video was sooooo well put together I love how you broke down the prefixes and suffixes. Ive been using wish trend 5% mandelic acid for months now and I love the glow it gives me! Next I want to try a PHA, I saw neutogena had one so I may look into it! Also this whole look looks gorgeous on you! Loved the style of this video, very informative! In the future do you mind talking about the safest method of hair removal for black skin pleaseee.

I’ve been researching this topic for days, so happy to hear it come from you! 🙌🏾🙌🏾 I have normal/ balanced, sensitive/acne prone skin (as of late) and I’m trying to navigate the best acid to use. Would I be doing too much if I use a benzoyl peroxide product in the day/night and an acid at the opposite time of day?

This was a very interesting video! I am grateful to have stumbled upon it. I had heard of some of the acids. However I did not know how they worked.
Are you able to suggest some products to even out and swiftly fade post acne marks around the chin area.
I am also interested in safe chin hair removal to please.
Again thank you for the video.

I used to use azelaic acid for my rosacea & i was wondering why my derm chose to discontinue it! lol

I loved this so much! I havent looked at your channel inna while but I was wondering whats the best way to layer my skin care products after I wash my face? like should i use my oils before or after moisturizer, when should I apply these acids in my step process, etc.
Totally okay if not discussed, just curious. I'm always on the look out for new methods to aid my healing acne scars and prevent my cystic acne from reappearing!

I’m always nervous about layering acids. Will you please consider making a video letting us know what’s safe and effective to mix? Can we use them at the same time? Do we need to rotate each night? Should we have a schedule?

Would you be able to do a video on your favorite products containing these acids. I've tried a product with mandelic and transeximic and wasn't all that impressed, I wish I liked them, but idk if it's a me thing or a product line thing.

What about Niacinimide, Alpha Arbutin, and Retin A? I paid thousands on treatments from my esthetician for chemical peels and microneedling. It did not do much for my skin but make it smooth. I currently use Retin A and want to incorporate Alpha Arbutin in the daytime and Niaciminide with Retin A at night. Is this okay?

    • @candyc4713

They all play well together so it should be fine. I’m a RN working in a Dermatology clinic and although our Drs do not recommend these products to our patients we often get patients coming in who have been following content creators and buying all these products only to leave and basically be told don’t waste your money. Products like Retin A, and Azeleic acid are often prescribed and highly recommended and we offer various medical grade chemical peels like sal acid, glycolic acid and mandelic acid typically not recommended in an OTC form except maybe a Sal Acid wash for acne.

I've tried mandelic, PHA, azelaic, and lactic acid. The chemical of those acids must have a natural aroma to them because every single one irritated my eyes pretty bad. It's not the "other" ingredients, it's the chemical acid like mandelic in itself. Am I right or am I going crazy? 😥
