  • Hey it's time for a couple beaver trapping videos!!! I trapped a pond for a week and used snares and conibears both and made 14 catches total! I split it into two seperate videos because it would be way to long otherwise. Please like, share and subscribe!!! Also check out my other sites including 3 Northern Jigs!!

      Thanks for watching Kirk!! Actually I do have a couple out but the person that i partnered with has royally screwed me and I've not seen a single penny from my videos. So all the DVD videos are actually on here uploaded also. I put them up after he didn't pay me.

    Good stuff Scott! You said a 9" loop is best? I'm going to try my hand at beaver snaring starting on the 29th.

    Another great video Scott. Question, the odd lodge (not frozen out) I struggle to find the run(s) as the ice appears to be completely solid right around it with no thin ice so I end up going to next lodge. Comment?

    • @330Maniac
      @330Maniac  7 років тому

      Often i'll wait for ice out to go after them

  • @loneranger8293

    I to struggle catching beaver at lodge runs any deeper than 4 ft for some reason???? How do you find the bank run dens, I assume thin ice. Great video BTW!!

    • @330Maniac
      @330Maniac  7 років тому +1

      Lone Ranger yep thin ice. I just walk along the shoreline with my chisel tapping the ice until I find them.

      blcolby Just about 95% of the time yes. Especially in Bank . dens

    I got a location where I caught severa beavers one was 76 lb it was a hoss looked like a bear in the water lol but there’s like 1 or 2 left and they won’t commit to nothing no lures no oils birch poplar oils wood shavings no snare no foot trap I guess I’ll let them stay. Unless you got any opinions?

    • @330Maniac
      @330Maniac  5 років тому

      Dye some snares black. Never had a beaver I couldn't catch without them.

    How do you know where to set the snares? I am new to Beaver trapping trying to learn...

    • @330Maniac
      @330Maniac  6 років тому

      Utubeman practice. I look at the distance of the bottom of the snare and see how far it is from the bottom of the stick i have it on. Then i push the stick into the bottom and try to guess to keep the snare a few inches off bottom

    • @markdavidmadden88
      @markdavidmadden88 6 років тому

      330 MaNiaC do the beaver run right on the bottom of the pond or just below the ice ?

    • @markdavidmadden88
      @markdavidmadden88 6 років тому

      330 MaNiaC and also, I'm assuming you find the runs because the ice is a bit thinner in that location ?

    Greetings from Russia! How to find winter.the outputs from the house of the beaver.if the big ice?

    • @330Maniac
      @330Maniac  7 років тому

      When I'm trapping an active lodge even in very cold temps the ice is fairly thin over the top of them. I just tap on the ice until i hear a hollow noise then chop a hole and climb in with my waders and feel around.

    • @loneranger8293
      @loneranger8293 7 років тому

      Hey Scott, you find using your waders instead of a stick to find the run is easier?

    • @330Maniac
      @330Maniac  6 років тому

      Tonya Burke They work decent for beaver but best for otter. For beaver you should use a 330 all the time unless space is an issue then a 280 would be alright
