I’m 58 & raised 2 kids on my own. I still don’t feel like a grown-up. I think feeling young is truly a state-of-mind. Hopefully you will never grow out of it ❤ Came here for the plants. Stayed for the stories. I’m disabled now due to Long Covid, and taking care of my plants has really helped to get through the past 3 1/2 years. Thank you for being part of it.
I love this kind of video. It's really relatable. I thought I was the only one who had several conversations going at once. 😆 I love seeing more of your personality showing through in your videos. Feels like we're just friends hanging out. Super chill. Plant care can be crazy. This is the norm for most of us plant parents. It's messy and can be challenging at times, but it's super fun and rewarding! Keep up the great videos!!🧽🧽🪴🪴
Hold the phone--you've only been doing this for a year and have 140k followers?? That's amazing. I am surprised by the negativity I see surrounding growing plants. It's not a competition, or a debate stage to be "right" about everything. I only follow three UA-cam channels for plants, and you all share the same spirit of sharing knowledge with the humility that, gasp, a different way may work just as well or better for someone else in their care and conditions, etc.
🧽 im the same as you never realise how much time I spend with my plants, as it is fn not a chores. Also love the honesty in your videos, keep them coming. 👍
Been sitting here watching and making my own little grow poles, to move my Dubia cuttings onto them. Lovely having the company while doing plant chores :) So sorry about Brad's brother. We lost our cat to traffic. Our two cats now live indoors. They enjoy the views and fresh air on the balcony. Also actually better for our environment here in NZ.
Nice one Jan! Such an informative and fun time watching you look after your plants. I don't think you need to doubt your thought process and how you talk about everything you're doing in combination with your life experiences. It's organic and transparent and feels like we're just hanging out with you in your house! Which in IMO is better than the over the top, high energy UA-camr vibe anyway. Just keep being you and we'll keep watching King 👑🌱
I love watching the contrast in climates and time zones, this is the first time I've actually taken into account Australia is in the other side of the planet from me lol summer is just coming into swing by us. We just now finally had our first week were house plants can go back outside to thrive. Great video Jan I love how much I'm learning watching your show! (Yes I think of UA-cam as your own TV show)
I really enjoy every video if yours that I watch . I’m an older woman who also loves plants and totally love your accent and your grammar is pretty perfect. I like your confidence and your love for Brad . Keep them coming Jan 😊
I was in search of exactly this kind of video as I was about to start my Sunday of plant maintenance… as soon as I heard you speak about being a ‘visual learner’ and the importance of ‘aesthetics’ with your plants… I knew I found my home! Thoroughly enjoyed this video and am off to find another in your library of information while I work… much love!!! 🪴
same here, it keeps me entertained while I repot toooo many plants and create props I don't have space for. I also get inspired/ideas for things I should or could do for my own plants.
🧽I'm not usually up for such long videos, but you've inspired me to do some plant chores while I watched. I took out old leaves, repotted and cleaned leaves.

@@sydneyplantguy I'm hoping you & your plants love it. It's more moisture retentive than I expected. I'm finally ready to make a new batch of medium which has been inspired by your non-soil mix 😊
🧽🧽🧽🧽🧽 yesterday was my plant maintenance day and today was my cleaning day. Feeling so much better. And I loved seeing your normal day personality lol. You sounded as scatterbrained as I felt today lol.❤
🧽 really love watching your videos. Living in Fiji I can learn much from you. Unfortunately, we do not have the many varieties of plants as you do, but whatever, any and all plants can be made to look so awesome. Love your enthusiasm.!
Even though I've seen you pick up a plant by the pole directly after repotting several times now, my mind still does not believe it lol. I still wait a few months after repotting to do so. Also, I love getting to know my favorite plant creators. I'm not interested in like 'lifestyle' content, but I really appreciate it when a youtuber sprinkles in the character and personality by bringing in personal moments. Like when you and AJ hang out, you really get to see your personality, and I absolutely love it! so keep up the good work, and being flexible with the kind of content you create. We are here for it!
So I needed some motivation as I cleaned my own house today - what a great time for this video to come out! Honestly, I kinda just felt like a had a friend hanging out with me as I squared away my home, so the pace and style of your video was a perfect fit.
Loooooved this! Perfect companion to my boring work day. Really excited about tree fern fibre, I've been doing my own research too and going to do my own test too... proof is in the pudding of course! :D

🧽 This video was quite informative and I took comfort in seeing you provide same care I give my plants too. My window to enjoy the outdoors more has also lessened when caring for plants too. Absolutely let myself get lost in this latest episode...your plants make a fantasy world real..loved it all. Brad is a good helper in many ways, keeping you focused while getting his attention...wonderful. The rain is essential for everything to thrive even more...you could actually see them "revive" after a good soaking.
